What does the Bible say about traditionalism?

QuestionAnswer Traditionalism is the practice of sticking to established customs and traditions as being authoritative. Traditionalism may also be described as the concept that moral and religious truth is derived from supernatural revelation that has been passed down via tradition rather than being discovered by human reasoning or experimentation. Traditionalism is concerned with maintaining these traditions and is hostile to change. On the one hand, religious and moral truth may be traced back to divine revelation; the Bible, for example, is replete with moral and religious truth.

Not the human tradition that has arisen around divine revelation, but divine revelation itself, is the ultimate source of authority.
Protestantism adheres to the doctrine of sola scriptura, which means that Protestants recognize only the authority of Scripture in questions of faith and practice.
Consider what the Bible truly says, including Jesus’ reprimand of the traditionalists of His day (see Luke 11:37–52), and it becomes evident that we must accept the Bible as the final authority in our lives.
