Jesus’ return – the Second Coming

According to Christian belief, Jesus Christ will return at some point in the future, and when this occurs, everyone will be informed of it. His reappearance is referred to as the Second Coming. It will be a remarkable and unparalleled event in history, in stark contrast to his first appearance in Bethlehem as a defenseless infant. There are hints in the Bible about what it could be like, but there is no indication as to when it will occur. In the days leading up to his crucifixion in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago, Jesus talked of his return to the earth.

‘ This same Jesus who has been taken from you into heaven will return in the exact same way that you have witnessed him ascend into heaven.’ The final hours of Jesus’ earthly life also provide a hint concerning the Second Coming.

During that time period, he was seen by more than 500 individuals.

The ascension of Jesus is the name given to this occurrence.

The Second Coming of Christ

It is our belief that Christ will return a second time; Our Lord’s return from the heavenly realm will be personal, visible, and spectacular; it is a joyful hope for which we should keep vigilant and pray continuously. Prior to establishing His reign on earth, Jesus will return to gather His Church, an event known as the “Rapture” in the Christian community. At that point, the dead in Christ will be resurrected to life, and those who are alive will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and be with Him for all ever.

Theology Thursday: He Will Come Again to Judge

In the Apostles’ Creed, it says, “He will come again to judge the living and the dead.” Jesus is on his way back to earth. His “second coming” is also referred to as such. The “first coming” of Jesus occurred when he took on the form of a human person, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. The second coming is the time when Jesus comes to judge all of humanity — both the living and the dead. All those who will be alive when he returns are considered to be among the living.

Every person who has died will be resurrected from the dead and judged, according to Jesus’ words (John 5:26-29).

The Good News

Christian believers will benefit from this decision. Our understanding of Jesus’ final destination comes from Revelation chapters 21 and 22, where he will take Christians to the New Jerusalem, where they will live eternally in the presence of God and where all sin, disease and sorrow will be eradicated. When Christians are living through terrible times, the return of Christ provides them reason to be hopeful. When we are going through hardships, Peter writes that we should be joyful because Jesus Christ will be revealed when he comes back.

The Bad News

The return of Jesus as judge, on the other hand, is bad news for those who are not Christians. If I do not believe in Christ, then I have not had my sins forgiven, and I will be held accountable for my misdeeds in the future. This signifies that I’m in serious danger right now. It is the cost for sin to be separated from God, and because God is everlasting, this separation will last forever. If I have not been forgiven of my sins via the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, then the return of Christ is the worst news imaginable, for my sins will lead me to be driven out of God’s presence for all eternity.

God has Provided the Solution for Everyone

However, God has supplied a remedy for my sin issue, which is found in the first half of the same portion of the Apostles’ Creed, where it states that Jesus Christ “was crucified” before rising from the dead on the third day as a result of his death. Jesus took the punishment that we deserved for our misdeeds and paid it for us. Whoever turns from sin and places their confidence in Jesus Christ as their sin-bearer receives forgiveness of sins and is able to dwell in God’s presence is said to be in God’s presence.

Finally, at the conclusion of the book of Revelation, the last words are a prayer: “Amen.

He is pleading with Jesus to return and “judge the living and the dead,” as he put it.

The second coming is on the horizon. It is true that Jesus told His disciples that He will return one more time. “Do not let your heart be worried,” the Bible states in John 14:1-3. When is Jesus coming back?

Jesus will return in a short period of time. No one, however, is certain of the precise hour when Jesus will appear again. The Bible says in Mark 13:32, “But no one knows when day or hour it will be; not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father knows.” It’s interesting to note that the disciples asked Jesus the same question right before He ascended to the Father’s presence. At that point, Jesus informed them that it was not their responsibility to know the times or seasons that were under the jurisdiction of the Father.

As a result, what does this mean for you and me is unclear.

Keep an eye on Jesus and keep your attention on him because the devil is attempting to divert mankind’s attention away from the indications and the nearness of Jesus’ return.

Why is Jesus taking so long to come back?

When Jesus returns, He will do it with patience, because He wants to give humanity the greatest amount of time possible to select and follow Him. Jesus desires that as many people as possible repent and follow Him to the heavenly kingdom. Warnings about the second coming of Jesus?

There are a slew of confused non-biblical views concerning the second coming of Christ that are causing confusion among many believers. Will He merely present spiritually to a small number of people? Will Jesus’ second coming take place exclusively in specific geographical locations? Is it possible that Jesus will emerge in the desert? Deceptions will be perpetrated in the final days, according to Jesus. In fact, in Matthew 24:4-5, Jesus warns Christians not to be mislead by those who come in the name of Jesus and claim to be the Christ of the New Testament.

Will Jesus come back secretly?

Many people wonder how many people will see Jesus’ return when He comes. Christ’s second coming will be a dazzling display of color, sound, and splendor. This event will not be hidden; every person on the Earth will be able to see Jesus. He will return, both personally and metaphorically. “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him,” the Bible states in Revelation 1:7. There will not be a single person on the face of the globe who is oblivious of Jesus’ imminent coming. The way in which Jesus will appear is described by Him Himself.

How will Jesus come back?

What happens to the righteous at the second coming?

When will we get immortal bodies?

Second coming signs

Are we living in the last days?

Non-Christians will find it difficult to comprehend that we are living in the latter days of the history of the world. According to the Bible, Jesus will return someday, and the world as we know it will come to an end at that time. There are many different ideas and opinions about the end of the world, but the Bible only provides a few specifics about what will happen. The Bible does not provide a clear answer to the majority of questions. We are instead encouraged to be spiritually prepared for judgment at any time and to place our faith in God, knowing that He will make everything right in the end. This article summarizes what the Bible actually says about the second coming of Jesus and the events that will take place in the lead up to it.

Jesus Will Come Again

A continuous process of redemption is depicted in the Bible as God’s redemptive effort. Throughout the Old Testament, He directs His chosen people in the direction of righteousness and truth. Jesus’ first arrival marked the beginning of the last phase of the process of salvation, which would climax in the events surrounding His Second Coming. A final judgment will be passed on all persons, alive and dead, at the end of time. The devout will be given new spiritual bodies in preparation for eternal life, while the wicked will be sent into hell for their sins.

The kingdom of God will be brought to completion at some point in the future.

When Will Jesus Come Again?

Many events that will take place before to the Second Coming of Christ, and which will serve as indicators that the end is close, are described in the Bible. There will be wars, famines, earthquakes, false prophets, persecutions, and an increase in evil, to name just a few things. First and foremost, the Gospel must be preached to all countries. The temple in Jerusalem would be completely demolished. However, the temple was ultimately demolished by the Romans in 70 AD. Final Judgment

We have every chance to repent while we are still alive, or until Jesus returns to take us home to be with Him (change our ways from evil to good). However, at the end of the day, we shall all be judged. Everyone, both the living and the dead who have been resurrected, shall be subjected to God’s judgment. Even individuals who claim Christianity will be evaluated on the basis of the acts they have committed during their lives (Matthew 7:21-23, 2 Corinthians 5:10). All of those who have led good lives will be awarded eternal life, while those who have lived evil lives will be sentenced to an eternity of suffering (Matthew 5:29-30, 25:31-46, Mark 9:43-48).

We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the physical body and at home with the Lord rather than in the flesh.

Because we must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may get what is due him for the things he has done while in the body, whether good or bad, while we are alive.

The same will be true in the case of the resurrection of the dead.

The New Heaven and Earth

The ultimate effect of the Second Coming will be the fulfillment of all of God’s promises to those who have believed in Him. In the end, Satan will be annihilated, and sin, pain, and death will all be eliminated from the world. And the devil, who had misled them, was cast into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had previously been cast. They will be tortured day and night for the rest of their lives. (New International Version, Revelation 20:10) “Just as the weeds are plucked out and burnt in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.’ ” It is the Son of Man who will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that leads to sin and everyone who is wicked in nature.

The Antichrist

(See also 1 John 2:18, 22, 4:3, and 2 John 1:7) The antichrist is defined as one who lies and deceives, denying that Jesus is the Christ. (See also 1 John 2:18, 22, 4:3, and 2 John 1:7) As at the time of the writing of 1 and 2 John, toward the end of the first century, numerous antichrists were claimed to be already existing in the world, according to traditional interpretation. It is unclear whether there will be another antichrist, but it is possible that his spirit is currently prevalent in the globe.

One or more groups have attempted to transform Bible predictions into propaganda at various points in history by announcing their own interpretations of the identity of the antichrist.

Such accusations, on the other hand, appear to be founded on little more than prejudice and hostility. The Bible provides no hints as to the identification of the antichrist and does not promote conjecture regarding his or her identity.

The Great Tribulation

The Severe Tribulation (Revelation 7:14) is a period of great suffering and anguish that will come in connection with the Second Coming of Christ. It will last for three years. It is frequently seen as a fulfillment of the prophesy of Daniel 9:24-27, which is found in the Old Testament. Psalms 2:1-12, Matthew 24:15-51, Mark 13:14-25, Revelation 9:1-11, 16:13-16 are examples of related scriptures.

The Millennium

Before the last judgment, the Millennium (Revelation 20:1-10) is depicted as a thousand-year era during which Satan is restrained and the resurrected believers reign with Christ before the end of the world. The Bible makes no other explicit reference of the millennium other than this one. Among Christians, there is a considerable deal of disagreement concerning the nature of the millennium, and ideas about it may be divided into numerous categories:

• Those who believe in amillennialism see the millennium as a metaphor of our current period, in which the Church continues Christ’s ministry and the bound of Satan has already been completed by Jesus in the past. It holds that the millennium will be a future era during which the gospel message will abolish evil from the globe and Christ will rule spiritually for a thousand years before the Second Coming. Those who believe in premillennialism believe that the millennium will be a thousand-year era between the Second Coming and the last judgment. There are two subtypes of premillennialism that may be distinguished:

• Premillennialism, as practiced historically, sees the millennium as the next step in the expansion of God’s reign, after the current era of the Church and preceding the appearance of the new heavens and earth. Dispensationalism considers the millennium to be a time period during which the promises made to the people of Israel in the Old Testament would be fulfilled. According to this point of view:

• Israel’s establishment as a sovereign state in 1948 is evidence that the Second Coming of Christ is coming. Christian believers will be rescued before the Great Tribulation begins (see below), allowing them to avoid the wrath of God during that time of misery

The Rapture

The Rapture (as described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17) is the departure of faithfulChristians (the Church) to meet the Lord in the air, according to the Bible. In terms of when the Rapture will take place, there are three theories:

• Before the start of the Tribulation, the rapture occurs when John ascends to heaven (Revelation 4:1-2)
• During the Tribulation, the rapture occurs when the two prophets ascend to heaven (Revelation 11:11-12)
• After the Tribulation, the rapture occurs when the two prophets ascend to heaven (Revelation 20:11-12)
• And after the Tribulation, the rapture occurs when the two prophets ascend to heaven (Revelation 21:11-12). The rapture will take place at the conclusion of the seven bowls (Revelation 16:17-21).

The Second Coming in Popular Culture

In recent years, the second coming of Jesus, the Rapture, and other Bible prophesies have produced a large business dedicated to these topics. The Late Great Planet Earth, written by Hal Lindsey in 1970, as well as the Left Behindseries by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, have been at the vanguard of this movement. Other resources include websites, television evangelists, lecture series, movies, and videos, among other things. In certain cases, Bible prophesies are embellished with inventive and colorful embellishments that are mixed with modern political and social views.

What will happen when Jesus returns / comes back?

QuestionAnswer It is mentioned several times in the Bible, with approximately 1,500 passages in the Old Testament and one out of every twenty-five lines in the New Testament alluding to the Messiah’s second coming of Christ. God’s statement in Amos 3:7, “Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets,” is reinforced by the huge quantity of material devoted to this significant event. 4. In this judgment, those who are determined to have committed a crime are condemned and sent to “the everlasting fire reserved for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41).
5. At this time, there will also be a resurrection of all believers in God, according to the book of Revelation (Revelation 20:4–6).
6. Once Satan has been unleashed, there will be a last fight that will be quickly won by Christ (Revelation 20:7–9).
7. Satan is subsequently doomed for all time to the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11).

People who do not believe in Jesus will be resurrected and judged in what is referred to as the great white throne judgment; they will be sent to the lake of fire based on their deeds (Revelation 20:11–15).

These two passages from the book of Malachi express the essence of this truth: “Unquestionably, the day is approaching; it will be hot as a fire.” All of the haughty and all of the evildoers will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them ablaze.

In contrast, the sun of righteousness will rise in your honor with healing in its rays, because you revere my name.

What will take place when Jesus returns?

What is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ?

QuestionAnswer When Jesus Christ returns, Christians will have the assurance that God is in charge of all things and that He will keep His promises and prophesies in His Word. Jesus Christ came to earth as a baby in a manger in Bethlehem, precisely as had been predicted, when He made His first appearance. A large number of the predictions of the Messiah were fulfilled by Jesus throughout His birth, life, ministry, death, and resurrection. However, there are several predictions about the Messiah that have yet to be fulfilled, and Jesus is one of them.

1. At the time of His first appearance, Jesus was the Suffering Servant.
2. When Jesus made His first appearance, He did it in the most lowly of circumstances.
3. The prophets of the Old Testament did not create a clear difference between the two comings of the Messiah.
4. A few of Jewish thinkers held that there would be both a suffering Messiah and a conquering Messiah as a result of the prophets appearing to speak of two men.
5. When Jesus came to earth for the first time, He fulfilled the duty of the suffering servant (Isaiah chapter 53).
6. The passages Zechariah 12:10 and Revelation 1:7, which describe the second coming of Christ, both go back to Jesus being pierced.

Immediately following Jesus’ ascension into heaven, angels addressed the apostles, saying, “‘Men of Galilee,’ they said, ‘why are you standing here staring into the sky?'” This same Jesus, who has been carried away from you into heaven, will return in the same manner in which you have witnessed him ascend into heaven.” (See Acts 1:11 for further information.) Is Jesus Coming Soon?

The question, “Is Christ returning soon?” was posed to me early in the pandemic’s progression. In the wake of huge, catastrophic catastrophes – whether caused by humans (wars, anarchy, genocide, widespread human depravity, global economic recessions) or by “acts of God” – this is a genuine issue that is frequently raised by the public (earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, floods, drought, blood moons, and yes, pandemics). What caught my attention was the word’soon’ that was put on at the end of the inquiry.

1. When Jesus appeared in the final book of the Bible, in the final chapter, He said: “Behold, I am coming shortly.
2. In these statements, and whenever the subject of His second coming was brought up, the Lord and the Scripture authors highlighted how we should live in light of the truth of His coming, rather than the time of His arrival.
3. His arrival will take place without undue delay and at the precise moment determined by the Lord.
4. The inquiry, “Is Jesus coming soon?” may indicate that a person is interested in knowing whether or not they should begin to take their connection with the Lord more seriously.
5. So, if He is not coming soon, we may probably relax and go about our business as if there is no pressing need to attend to.

In addition to providing us with some indications of what life will be like as we get closer to the end of history, Jesus also directed us away from fruitless speculation about when He would return and toward fruitful living in which we are prepared at all times to meet Him when He does come back again.

1. Christ’s return, regardless of when it occurs, offers us with the comfort that Satan will be defeated in the end.
2. Satan does not have the last say, and we are united with the Lord of Hosts in our pursuit of triumph.
3. The most important thing to remember about Jesus’ second coming is that we must be prepared.
4. Instead, they were to serve as His witnesses all across the globe, according to the Bible (Act 1:6-8).

Christians are frequently obliged to maintain God’s righteousness by denouncing the sins of the world, and this is understandable.

If we want to be salt in a decaying world and light in a darkening world, we must prepare ourselves by becoming salt and light in a world that is descending into darkness. Let us go and make disciples of all nations.
