Why Jesus Conference

Why Jesus? 2016

Is it possible to know what to believe anymore in this world where there are hundreds of different religions and religious beliefs to choose from? Is it really necessary for anyone to care about what they believe any longer? Do you believe that there is such a thing as truth and untrue when it comes to religion? Couldn’t it all be boiled down to personal choice and cultural background? Why not simply select science or reasoning over faith as a first option in every situation? Isn’t it true that religion almost usually results in strife across the world?

WHY JESUS CHRIST?

This is not intended to be a light-hearted entertainment event to tickle your funny bone.

But in a positive and beneficial way.

  1. There will also be workshops and displays, in addition to a capella singing by a group that is completely unique.
  2. For those who are skeptical or earnest seekers, we feel that this conference will be instructive and useful for them as well as for the rest of us.
  3. You are welcome to attend at no cost.

Jesus Conference

The Jesus Conference with Michael Koulianos will be shown live on Daystar Television Network on Friday, May 1st at 12:00 p.m. Eastern on Daystar Television Network. The Jesus Conference is dedicated to causing viewers from all around the world to have a life-changing encounter with Jesus through video broadcasting. World leaders have expressed a desire for a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and this meeting is intended to give precisely that. Founded by Michael Koulianos out of a desire to unite the fathers and mothers of the faith in one voice, the annual Jesus Conference is now in its third year.

On-Air Schedule for Friday, May 1st

The Jesus Conference will take place on Friday, May 1st from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Eastern time.

About Michael Koulianos

Michael Koulianos, an evangelist, author, and co-host of the Jesus Image television programLiving for Jesus, was born in Tarpon Springs, Florida, and raised in the city. He devoted his heart to Jesus Christ when he was twelve years old. During the same year, he delivered his very first sermon. During a sequence of strange happenings that occurred in a Westport, Connecticut church in October of 2007, Michael’s life was irreversibly altered. It was in this place that the might of God overtook him, just as it had done when he was twelve years old.

He thinks that Jesus is the only one who can provide the solution to all of our problems. It is his life’s mission to be used by God to reveal His Son to the world via the power of the Holy Spirit, which is his life’s calling. Visit Michael Koulianos’ website to learn more about him.

The Purpose of Conferences

“The Purpose of Conferences,” as the title suggests. The Ensign, November 1976, page 80 People seem to be interested in hearing about the area conferences that we host all over the world, no matter where I travel or what I do. Today, I’d want to give a quick overview of why we have them, how they are performed, how people respond to them, and what impact they are having in various areas. I’ll speak especially on the regional conferences that took place in Europe this summer. In his explanation, President Kimball stated that the Church has grown at such a rapid pace throughout the world that it is no longer feasible to limit our general conferences to those held in April and October at the Salt Lake Temple, the world headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City.

As a result, we’re bringing the conferences to the people themselves.

The prophet, the other General Authorities and their spouses are also present at these conferences.

Despite the fact that we currently have members in 75 countries, we only have Church organizations in 58 of them, where a wide variety of languages are spoken.

Two members of the First Presidency, two members of the Quorum of the Twelve, and two or three additional General Authorities, including the area supervisor of the area in which the conference is conducted, as well as the spouses of all of the participants, are usually in attendance from headquarters.

In this conference, speeches are frequently delivered by the spouses of the First Presidency, a member of the First Presidency, other General Authorities, and a local sister from the area where the meeting is being held.

They are reminded that there is no greater responsibility or more satisfying experience than to be copartners with God in the divine plan of bringing his spirit children into mortal existence, teaching them the gospel, and assisting them in their preparation to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father after they have completed their mortal lives.

  • When the General Authorities and their spouses gather for a special meal at each conference, they have the chance to mix and mingle with the priesthood leaders and their wives from the stakes and missions.
  • Many of the people who attend these conferences come from rural or remote areas, as well as towns and cities, where members of the Church are in the minority and frequently numbering in the hundreds.
  • The area supervisors in attendance (who are also General Authorities) are always given the opportunity to speak, and I would want to express my gratitude for the excellent service they provide in their various regions.
  • Similar to the locals, who soar to tremendous heights as they exhibit their faith and a profound knowledge of the gospel, as well as a resolve to live and assist others live according to the teachings of Jesus.
  • I’d want to express my heartfelt congratulations to them.
  • It is often emphasized in the positive reports that Mormons who live the faith are healthier, happier, and more successful, and that they live longer.
  • It is a pleasure to converse with new members of the Church.

The teachings of the gospel, according to another woman who had lost a child in death, restored hope to her when she discovered that she could be sealed to her husband by divine authority for time and all eternity, that they could have their little one sealed to them, and that children born to such a marriage would be part of an eternal family unit.

  1. I make it clear to them that they have a significant duty to use their positions of power for the greater good in their particular fields.
  2. When it comes to their minority position as Church members, I like to remind them that when the Church was formed in 1830, there were only six registered members, and at that time the Lord ordered them to spread the gospel to every nation on the face of the earth.
  3. Despite being driven from place to place, their homes being burned, their possessions being confiscated, and their temples being destroyed, they remained steadfast in their faith for the sake of the gospel.
  4. The immense sacrifices made by those early pioneers, who had to leave their luxurious houses in Nauvoo and go across the wilderness, where they faced death and deprivation, are brought to their attention.
  5. Our members must be aware of the apostasy and the restoration, as well as possess a witness of Joseph Smith’s divine mission, in order to be effective.
  6. It would be wonderful if it were possible for me to express to you the pleasant spirit and inspirational words of all of the speakers, but time will not allow me to do so.
  7. As President Kimball addressed the congregation, he conveyed greetings and conferred blessings from the Lord upon them in a gentle and caring manner.

One discussion in particular that I’d like to mention was one about chastity.

He used the comparison of a ship sailing on a stormy sea, and he stated that many ships had been lost, along with their cargo and passengers, as a result of collisions with other ships, icebergs, and rocky shoals, among other things.

As a leader of the Church, and in part because I am responsible for the youth and their well-being, I raise my voice loud and strong and unwaveringly to say to our young people: “You are in a hazardous area, perhaps in a period of your lives where there are some dangers.

He cited the apostle Paul, who warned Christians not to “congregate with fornicators.

President Kimball went on to say, “Oh, if only our young people could learn this fundamental lesson—to always be in good company, and to never be found with those who are inclined to lower their standards!

“Perversions of any kind are not tolerated by the Catholic Church.” In talking about sincere repentance, Jesus stressed the seriousness of such transgressions while also emphasizing the possibility of redemption.

God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and his covenants and beliefs are unchanging: God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Proper sex can only bring sadness, disappointment, disgust, and in the majority of cases, rejection.

Chastity that has been lost is lost forever, and virtue that has been taken is irretrievably lost.

52:11 for further information.) According to Elder Thomas S.

On free will, he expressed his gratitude by saying: “This gift of agency, this ability to choose, is overpowering in its magnitude, everlasting in its significance.

Let us not return to our homes after this regional meeting with a blank slate.

It was stressed to him how important it is to pay close attention to the Lord, the prophets, one’s parents, and the quiet, little voice that speaks to each of us individually.

Afterwards, he read a passage from James that said, “Be doers of the word, and not only hearers, fooling yourself.” (See also James 1:22.) He instructed them that they should study from the scriptures and excellent literature, as well as from the lives of good individuals, such as the General Authorities, in order to be successful.

  • In his message, he reminded us of Nephi’s declaration: “I will go and accomplish the things that the Lord has instructed me.” I have added italics to 1 Ne 3:7.
  • To love was his final recommendation.
  • We have heard the voice of a prophet, including the voice of President Spencer W.
  • We have worshipped as a family in the spirit of love.
  • It is hoped that each has made the following decision: I will listen; I will learn; I will work; I will love.
  • It says, “Look, I’m standing at the door, knocking: If any guy hears my voice and opens the door, I’ll come in to him.” (See also Rev.
  • Packer on “the voice of warning” was very effective in conveying the topic of our conferences.

In total, 790 homes were destroyed and 800 others were severely damaged, as well as schools, churches, and other commercial buildings, among other things.

“However, what happened to the folks on that Saturday morning?” I quote: There was a miracle that happened!

“How could such horrible devastation occur with such a small loss of life?” you might wonder.

A lot of them had been experiencing a restless, uneasy sensation that morning, and as a result, they reacted almost immediately when the warning was issued.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints pays attention to warnings.

(D C 63:58; D C 63:59.) Elder Packer indicated that, according to scientific estimations, 5,300 lives might have been lost, but that there were just a handful of casualties.

Homes were completely destroyed, and most people had to travel for miles in order to reach higher ground.

Again, he quoted from the revelations: “And let those who have been warned in their travels pray to God and meditate on the warning that they have received in their hearts.”.

(See D C 88:71 and 81.) “That’s how they were saved,” he said further.

… Do you believe they were unconcerned about it?

The warnings were yelled and screamed at the top of their lungs.

Every available means was employed to issue the warning.

‘There will be a deluge!'” One of the six people who perished was standing right below the dam and had little hope of surviving.

Every individual who had been warned passed the word along to his neighbor.

The entire episode can only be described as a mighty miracle.

After sharing his thoughts, Elder Packer concluded his account with the following words: “It is Saturday morning in the Lord’s scheme of things, and we go about our work complacently, concerned with the ordinary cares of life, but many of us have a restless, anxious feeling.

It is them who are yelling at you to get out of the valley.

Escape from the flood of mischief and evil that is bringing about a spiritual disaster.’ And, once again, it is the responsibility of every man who has been warned to warn his neighbor.

You who have heard and have been warned are responsible for informing your neighbors.

In this day and age, when so many people have turned away their hearts and their ears from the word of the Lord, it is incumbent upon those who still believe to be more diligent, more loyal, and more concerned in their efforts to proclaim the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Kimball, as I bear my testimony.

I humbly pray in the name of Jesus Christ that we will all be engaged in deeds of righteousness, that we will all have love in our hearts and a witness of the truth on our lips, that we will all heed the warning voice of our prophet, and that we will all warn our neighbors. Amen.

The focus of general conference: ‘the Savior, Jesus Christ, His mercy and His infinite redeeming power’

President Russell M. Nelson stated during the 191st Semiannual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Oct. 2 that “knowledge of the Savior is more personally significant and meaningful to every human soul” than there has ever been in the history of the world. If we all choose to follow Jesus Christ and followed His teachings, President Nelson added, “imagine how fast the catastrophic conflicts around the globe — and those in our own personal lives — would be settled.” President Nelson addressed the congregation from the Conference Center podium for the first time since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus began.

  • “We are His covenant people,” says the author.
  • He has given us the honor of participating in His holy task.” Millions of members from all over the world came together for the historic conference, which was the first to be hosted in the Conference Center in almost two years.
  • The conference proceedings have been or will be made available in 98 languages and televised to more than 170 nations and territories, according to the organizers.
  • COVID-19 vaccinations and tests were administered to speakers and choir members (who performed with 50 percent of their total membership on each day of the festival).
  • “Though most seats remain vacant, the appearance of a number of Tabernacle Choir members is a significant step forward.
  • “If you and I are to resist the risks and pressures that lie ahead, it is critical that we each have a strong spiritual foundation built on the rock of our Redeemer, Jesus Christ.”

Presiding President Dallin H. Oaks, first counselor in the First Presidency, stated during his remarks that the scriptures of the past and present, both ancient and modern, plainly demonstrate the need for a Church that is guided and empowered by the Lord Jesus Christ and his apostles. The restored Church of Jesus Christ has been founded in order to teach the fullness of His teaching and to officiate with His priestly power in order to execute the ordinances essential for entry into the Kingdom of God, as stated in the statement above.

Eyring stated that the more Latter-day Saints have the doctrine of Christ ingrained in their lives and hearts, the more they will feel love and sympathy for those who have never experienced the blessing of faith in Jesus Christ or who are struggling to maintain it.

  • Even in the face of apparently insurmountable obstacles, President M. Russell Ballard emphasized that “we must never lose our love for and hope in Jesus.” Our Heavenly Father, as well as Jesus, will never forget about us. “They are devoted to us.” “When tough things are demanded of us, even things that go opposed to our deepest desires, remember that the fidelity we commit to the cause of Christ is to be the ultimate dedication of our life,” stated Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. “We hope you are able to sense the genuineness of our testimony. ” “Jesus Christ is alive,” Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf declared. “He’s the real deal. The Son of God is here on the planet now, and He is directing prophets on the face of the globe.” In the words of Elder David A. Bednar, “Only through the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ, are covenant promises and benefits achievable.” We are invited to “look unto him,” “come unto him,” “learn of Him,” and to “bond ourselves to him” via the covenants and ordinances of His restored gospel, according to the apostle Paul. In his testimony, Elder Quentin L. Cook stated, “I testify and share my personal apostolic witness that Jesus Christ, the Savior and Redeemer of the world, governs and directs His restored Church.” “His life and atoning mission are the only genuine sources of peace,” says the author. He is referred to as the “Prince of Peace.” “I give witness of the truth of our Heavenly Father and our Redeemer, Jesus Christ, as well as of Their continual, unending love,” stated Elder D. Todd Christofferson. In the words of Elder Neil L. Andersen, “Now is the moment for us to reinstate the revealed name of the Church.” “It is necessary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be addressed by His name if it is to fulfill its purpose.” According to Elder Ronald A. Rasband, “‘all things in Christ’ (Ephesians 1:10) and ‘the things of my soul’ (2 Nephi 4:15) are what this Church, this message, and this people are all about.” “It has been stated that the gospel of Jesus Christ is simply lovely, and gloriously simple,” he said. Elder Gary E. Stevenson stated, “We can put our trust in Jesus Christ, who is ‘our peace,’ who ‘hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us
  • Having abolished in his body the enmity'” (Ephesians 2:14-15)
  • Elder Dale G. Renlund stated, “We each humbly seek the Lord and pray and welcome His restored gospel blessings to all.”
  • Elder Gerrit W. Gong stated, “The expression of compassion

Small Town Jesus Conference

Taking place over two days, the Small Town Jesus Conference brings together pastors and ministry leaders from churches in smaller communities such as small towns, rural areas, and small cities. The conference is designed to encourage, connect, serve, and equip them for ministry in their respective contexts.

MAIN CONFERENCE SESSIONs AUDIO

The locations God has called us to as church leaders have been tried and pressed in unexpected ways, and while we continue to love the places God has placed us, many of us have discovered that we are in need of personal rejuvenation, connection with others, and spiritual support for our own souls. We needed to hear the Gospel message for ourselves once more. a Gospel that provides us the ability to be resilient in our lives, relationships, and ministry work. This is the environment into which we walked together during the Small Town Jesus Conference in 2021.

Connecting with people who were doing ministry in comparable areas, receiving encouragement from brothers and sisters who were working in similar situations, and being reassured once more of God’s provision for us were all things we needed.

We were also able to come together again to consider how the Gospel sustains, preserves, and empowers us as church leaders to endure through challenges, fatigue, and seasons of struggle, even as we pray for seasons of renewal, refreshment, and grace.

A New Thesis on the Origins of Christianity A Brief Description of the Virtual Conference World historians, philosophers, specialists, and scholars will convene in 2021 at the Global Center for Religious Research (GCRR) to discuss the most recent findings in historical Jesus research. The conference will bring together historians, philosophers, specialists, and scholars from around the world. The goal of this interdisciplinary virtual conference is to promote the knowledge of the historical Jesus from the perspectives of sociopolitical, historical, hermeneutical, and philosophical perspectives.

Furthermore, because the virtual conference will be hosted online, academics and students will be able to participate from the comfort and security of their own homes, eliminating the need to worry about travel and hotel fees in advance.

More information will be released in the future.

DISCLAIMER: Several of the presentations at this event will be contentious, and some will even go against widely accepted historical views and practices, as will be demonstrated.

With this event, GCRR hopes to shed more light on the many different variations on the themes and figures of Jesus mythicism, so that future researchers will not only be able to comprehend (and perhaps empathize with) certain lines of reasoning, but they will also be able to make more nuanced distinctions between where they agree and where they disagree with some of the positions presented at this event.

Research Fellow, GCRR”Jesus and the Son of Man”Why Attend and Present at This Conference We’re a service-driven organization, not a profit-driven organization Why Attend and Present at This Conference

  • The majority of other conferences are profit-driven, which means they demand outrageous fees in order to attract just a small number of individuals to attend. It’s true that in the past, other conferences on this subject have paid far over one hundred dollars merely to listen to a few of speakers!
  • GCRR thinks that academic information and important themes such as this one should be widely available to the general people, and that this should be the case. We charge only $15 for the full event as a result of this policy. It is our goal to have as many individuals as possible gain academically and cognitively from attending the event without incurring further financial burden.

We have no hidden agenda, and we will not hide it.

  • The majority of other conferences are not purely academic in character, which means that they have a partisan and prejudiced aim, and they will utilize their platform to brainwash attendees.
  • The Global Center for Research on Religion thinks that academic conferences should be both academic and scholarly. In other words, it means giving reliable, peer-reviewed material while keeping the best interests of academics and students equally in mind. While some organizations use these kinds of topics to entice you to join their religious community or participate in their religiously-based program (while accepting the organization’s version of God and its worldview), other organizations take advantage of the topic’s stimulating nature to try to turn you into a religious zealot against the organization’s religious beliefs. In both cases, fanaticism is harmful
  • The conferences and publications of the Global Center for Research on Religion (GCRR) are evidence-based while also acknowledging the richness and nuance of current research and collegial discourse.
  • The Global Conference on Religion and Race (GCRR) seeks to hear diverse viewpoints from different worldviews and traditions in order for attendees to potentially gain insights and advantages from them.

We have a global audience that comes to us.

  • GCRR has members from all around the world, and people come from all over the world to attend!
  • Because we want to reach as wide an audience as possible, each of our conferences is broadcast live across numerous platforms at the same time, including Zoom, Facebook, and YouTube.

All presentations are recorded and made available to the public at no charge.

  • Some conferences actually charge attendees an additional price in order to acquire video recordings of the event. As part of the $15 ticket purchase, you’ll also receive a video recording of all presentations, allowing you to catch up on any talks you missed (or rewatch any talks from the beginning).

Closed captioning is available for all live presentations to accommodate the deaf and hard of hearing. Finally, all proceeds from the event will be used to support the Global Center for Religious Research’s social-scientific research on religion from across the world. Call for Presenters is now open! The submission of abstract suggestions (between 200 and 500 words) for presentation at this year’s worldwide academic conference is welcomed. Specialized professionals, philosophers, researchers, professors, graduate students, and practitioners are all encouraged to participate.

During the conference, presenters can also highlight and promote their own books, which is completely free!
