WHEN JESUS COMES
My research into the origin of this magnificent song led me to two alternative accounts, neither of which I believe to be completely correct. I’m not sure which one is more accurate. It is stated in the first that the outstanding missionary Dr. Oswald Smith (1890-1979) served as a missionary to the West Coast Canadian Indians during the years 1915-1917. It took him many days to go reach the villages by packboat. Oswald’s faith was straightforward: he had a personal relationship with Jesus. Second, he understood that Jesus was the deliverer and the source of supernatural healing.
- He was particularly moved by the grief and lack of hope that he witnessed during a traditional Native funeral for a small kid in his community.

- When their brother Lazarus died, he represented the sorrow that filled the house, as well as the grief of Mary and Martha who were left behind.

Attendance at Manitoba College, Winnipeg, 1909-1910; Toronto Bible College, 1907-1908, 1910-1912; McCormick Theological Seminary, 1912-1915; further study at Knox College, Toronto; various honorary doctorates; and other honors Pastorates in Toronto from 1915 to 1958; he led evangelical meetings and crusades in other cities on a regular basis. In 1928, he founded the People’s Church, which now combines a robust evangelistic program in Toronto with an excellent foreign missionary network.

Afterwards, they arrived at Jesus’ location, where they discovered the man who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, seated, fully clothed, and in full consciousness. And they were frightened. The word “immediately” appears three more times in this passage. This brings the total number of times in Mark to 17 so far. Do you believe that God desires action? The man in our key verse was dealing with a lot of issues! That is a significant understatement. He was possessed by demonic spirits and had been shut off from any human interaction.

Come on, you can’t be serious.
You must have a personal contact with Jesus when He returns.
Please take a seat.
That’s all there is to it.

Simply slipping out of that seat and surrendering will suffice.
I assure you that what you’ve been seeking for, what you’ve been missing, can only be discovered in Him, with just a small nudge from His Spirit.

This is the very presence of the risen Savior, Jesus Christ, which you are experiencing right now.
It’s that simple.
And He brings salvation with Him.
A curse cannot be placed on you, and there is no power over your life that can stand up to the power of the name of Jesus.
I promise you that He will heal your wounds, bring your deliverance, and lift you up.
You may go to Him if you need healing in your body because He is the Lord who heals me.
