How I Came to Know Jesus

My mother took me to church the very first week I was born since I was raised in a Christian environment. As a child of six years old, I walked down the aisle of a Baptist church and informed the minister that I desired to be baptized. I recall my father asking me, “Have you been saved?” shortly afterward. To be completely honest, I had no notion what “saved” meant. It was all I could remember that I adored Jesus and want for him to always be by my side, as well as the fact that I felt sorry for my wrongdoing.

According to what I could tell, becoming baptized would demonstrate this to others.
There were no questions about whether or not I wanted to do it; I just felt it was the right thing to do.
I just wanted to make sure my worries didn’t get the better of me, you understand.

Who Is Jesus to You?

The beginning of Holy Week is marked by a massive wave of confusion and a shifting of allegiances to Jesus. A few days later, the large and adoring crowds on Palm Sunday give way to the crowds who are calling for His death. There are many different perspectives on who Jesus is today; however, the most important question is: who is Jesus to you personally? Our response to that question will be remembered for all time.

Who Am I to You?

According to Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus takes a poll of His followers and inquires of them about precisely this issue. A couple loaves of bread and a few pieces of fish had just been served to the 4,000 people (after earlier serving the 5,000). The Pharisees and Sadducees then attempted to put Jesus to the test by obstinately demanding that He perform another sign for them. Jesus next moves from the mostly Jewish region of Galilee to the lovely and serene region of Caesarea Philippi, where he spends the rest of his time.

When Jesus narrates the parable about the yeast of the Pharisees while they are journeying there, the disciples appear to be perplexed and display their perplexity.

Even after seeing so many miracles, the disciples were still perplexed by His teachings and lacked trust in His abilities.

Who Do You Say I Am Scripture

When Jesus arrived in the region, he determined it was time to confront the disciples with the truth about His actual character. They knew Him as a kind and kind guy who was also an exceptional teacher, and they were aware of His capacity to cure and perform miracles. As a starting point, he inquires as to who they believe He is. “Some believe it is John the Baptist, some believe it is Elijah, and yet others believe it is Jeremiah or one of the prophets,” they responded. Matthew 16:14 (New International Version).

That isn’t all that unlike from the beliefs of Jesus in the present day.

Some believe He was a decent, moral teacher, while others believe He was a smart man endowed with supernatural talents.

It is Jesus who says that He is God, that He is the source of forgiveness of sins, and that He is the only road to eternal life.

For some people (both then and now), that is a significant stretch. As soon as Jesus has finished listening to the disciples’ responses, He confidently asks them the crucial question: “But what about you?” He inquired. “Can you tell me who you think I am?” v15.

You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God

“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God,” Peter responds on behalf of the entire group of disciples. v16. This was the watershed moment that Jesus had been looking forward to. Initially, the disciples followed Jesus as students, believing that He would prove to be the long-awaited Messiah. However, in this passage, Peter not only proclaims Him to be Messiah (also known as “Christ” or “anointed one”), but also to be the Son of the living God. They had received a revelation of Jesus’ divinity by the Holy Spirit, despite the fact that they did not completely comprehend His purpose.

God’s Son

In His loud affirmation, God the Father makes it known that He has done so.

John Baptizes Jesus

“As Jesus was rising up out of the water, he saw heaven being ripped open and the Spirit descending on Him like a dove,” the Bible states. ‘You are my Son, whom I love; I am happy with you,’ said a voice from the throne of God. Mark 1:10-11 (New International Version). Not only was this a visual demonstration of the Trinity, but everyone could hear the voice of God the Father addressing Jesus as His loving Son.

Jesus is Transfigured

“.Jesus took Peter, James, and John with Him and brought them up a high mountain where they were all alone,” Mark writes about a second event. It was in that location that He was transfigured in front of them. His garments became brilliant white, whiter than any other person on the face of the planet could possibly bleach them. When a cloud formed and surrounded them, a voice spoke from the cloud saying, ‘This is my Son, whom I adore,’ and the cloud disappeared. ‘Pay attention to him!'” Mark 9:2, 3, and 7 (NIV).

The True Identity of Jesus

“.Jesus took Peter, James, and John with Him and brought them up a high mountain where they were all alone,” Mark recounts the second event. His transfiguration in front of them took place there. Everyone in the world could not have bleached his garments to such a brilliant whiteness. When a cloud arose and surrounded them, a voice from inside the cloud said, ‘This is my Son, whom I adore.’ ‘Pay attention to what he has to say!” New International Version (NIV) of Mark 9:2, 3, 7. The transfiguration demonstrated Jesus’ divine character, and God’s word invested Him with complete divine power in the presence of His disciples.

Another piece of the puzzle that would be fitted together by the disciples following His resurrection.

Who Is Jesus Christ?

It was clearly stated by Jesus that He was God himself, and that He was the only route to salvation and eternal life with Him. That distinguishes Him from all other religious traditions. If Jesus did not claim to be who He claimed to be, then He would have been the profane teacher about whom the Jews complained. For Hindus, he is only one of a plethora of deities. According to Islam, Jesus was a prophet and a great teacher, but not a divine being. Buddhists regard Jesus as just a knowledgeable teacher and a holy man, and they do not worship him.

They have read and examined the historical record of Jesus and have come to the conclusion that He is not God.

Despite this, everyone is given free will and the ability to make their own decisions concerning the person of Jesus. Our thoughts and decisions concerning Jesus are entirely personal. No one has the authority to make decisions for us. We either believe in Him or don’t believe in Him.

And You Say…

So, who do you believe He to be? While visiting Lazarus’s grave, Jesus informed Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life. I am the Son of God.” He who believes in me will live, even though he dies… “Do you believe what I’m saying?” NIV translation of John 11:25-26. This is a claim that only God could make. Martha’s response was, “Yes, Lord, I believe.,” according to verse 27. I am convinced. It is in you that I place my faith, Jesus. This is the most important reality that we may ever realize in our lives.

Who do you consider to be the ruler of your life?

“For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved,” says Romans 10:10, “that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” The procedure involves more than merely reciting the words or agreeing with the facts that have been conveyed.

Who is Jesus in Your Life?

So, who do you believe He to be, exactly? While visiting Lazarus’s grave, Jesus informed Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life. I am the one who gives life.” Those who put their faith in me will survive, regardless of whether or not they are killed. Believe it or not, that is what happened.” In the New International Version of the Bible, John 11:25-26. This is something that only God could say. “Yes, Lord, I believe.”, Martha said in verse 27. Certainly, I think so.” Your words, Jesus, have given me confidence.

When I was younger, I was asked, “Who is Jesus Christ to you?” On the one hand, it’s a straightforward question. On the other, it’s a more complicated one.How one responds to it reveals a great deal about their perspective on Christianity, God, and their faith.David Lose recently wrote that, because we believe in a God who cannot be seen, our experience of this world may ultimately shape our view of God. For example, because we live in a violent environment, we may perceive God as a violent God who is on a mission to exterminate and annihilate unfaithful individuals.

Throughout a significant portion of my life, I had the belief that Jesus was my savior.
As I grew older, and as my ideas of God, Jesus, and religion changed, I began to feel that referring to Jesus simply as my savior was insufficient.
That’s exactly what I did.
That couldn’t possibly be the conclusion of my spiritual quest, could it?
The novelty of “getting saved” ultimately wears off.
We’ve reached a snag in the path.
In other words, our lives might take unexpected twists, causing our newly constructed foundation in Christ to tremble.

Throughout my years in youth ministry, I’ve met a lot of youngsters who have come to faith time and time again.

It’s been around six months since my last salvation experience.

I was one of those children who was pursuing the high of being saved.

The retreat would have been a failure unless a majority of the children professed faith in Jesus as their Savior.

Perhaps this time it will be permanent!

He explained his decision by saying, “I’m simply weary of seeing people be saved every year and nothing changing.” It was at that point that I understood our ministry was failing to deliver on its promises to the people.

Yes, Jesus Christ is my Savior, but more significantly, Jesus Christ is my Lord.

The words “I am no longer mine own, but thine” in the Wesley Covenant Prayer strike a chord with me because I believe this is why Christ is my Lord and I now live my life for him.

It is up to me to go wherever Christ directs me.

I can’t lie, I struggle and resist.

Because Jesus is a loving and kind Master who has poured down his life for us.

Whenever I look into his eyes, he asks me, “Child, where have they gone?” Is it true that no one has condemned you?

For the simple reason that we’re entrusting our life to him, and his grace and love are so overpowering that they begin to transform us from the inside out.

And it is in living for Jesus’ purpose, cause, and mission — living with Christ as our Lord — that we find genuine freedom.

Who is Jesus to You?

When getting to know someone and learning about their spiritual journey, the most important question to ask is “who is Jesus to you?” The response to this question will reveal where they are in their relationship with God. Not only who the individual believes Jesus to be. but who he is in their eyes. Then pay attention for the response. Don’t make assumptions or place your own meaning on what they are saying; instead, pay attention. However, when you start talking about who Jesus is and what it means to be a Christian with them, you will find that their concept of him and what it means to be a Christian is radically different from your own.

He is the Son of the Living God, who existed with God before the beginning of time and the beginning of creation, and who is God.

It was to him that God the Father spoke in Psalm 110:1, “The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand until I make Your adversaries a footstool for Your feet.”” He is the fulfillment of the promise made to Adam and Eve, having been born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23), the seed of a woman (Genesis 3:15), and having triumphed over death (1 Corinthians 15:55-57, Isaiah 25:8), as well as having crushed Satan under His feet (Matthew 1:23).

(Genesis 3:15, Romans 16:20).

It is my belief that Jesus is who He claimed to be, both God and the Son of Man.

Not All who Claim to Be Christians Are

There are many people who believe that Jesus was a wonderful person, but not all of them acknowledge him as their Lord and Savior. There may even be individuals who claim to speak for him and to perform miracles in his name, but who do not consider themselves to be members of the body of Christ. This passage raises a lot of questions. Those who do the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter the kingdom of heaven, not everyone who calls out to Me in the name of ‘Lord, Lord.'” 21 “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name and cast out demons in Your name, and perform many miracles in Your name?” 22 “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name and cast out demons in Your name, and perform many miracles in Your name?” 23 And then I will say to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness,’ as if they were strangers.

(Matthew 7:21-23, New American Standard Bible) It doesn’t have to be difficult or time-consuming. Romans 10:9 states: “If we confess with our lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved. It truly is that simple.

Who Jesus is to You

The jailer at Philippi, having witnessed the hand of God in both the earthquake that broke open the prison and all of the captives who remained there, approached Paul and Silas and asked, “Sirs, what must I do in order to be saved?” You will be saved if you place your faith in the Lord Jesus, according to their response. (See also Acts 16:29-31 and Joel 2:32.) The “Lord” element of this remark is not usually understood by people in our current age. We don’t live in a culture where we are completely subordinate to another person’s authority.

The queries “What should I dress today?” “Where do you want to have dinner?” and “What do you want to watch on television?” are not the types of questions that we ask ourselves on a regular basis that have long-term significance in our lives. · Some of life’s questions are simply unanswerable, and this is one of them.

Consider the following questions, for example: “Will you marry me?” “What will we name the baby?” and “Doctor, what is my prognosis?” These are all questions that have lasting ramifications for the person who answers them.
The first inquiry is concerned with what other people have to say about Jesus.
The response they give to His first inquiry reveals whether or not they are in the kingdom of God.
The answer to this question will influence where you will spend the rest of your life.
· Jesus and His followers are said to be in the “city of Caesarea Philippi,” according to the Bible.
It is here that a spring emerges from Mount Hermon, which eventually becomes one of the tributaries of the Jordan River, which flows into the sea.
In ancient period, the city had been named “Balinas”, since it had been a seat of Baal worship.
In later years, the name was changed to “Panias,” in recognition of the Greek belief that their deity Pan was born in a cave high up in the hills above the city, near the foot of Mount Hermon.

In reality, the contemporary name for this ancient city is “Banias,” which is a shortened version of the Greek word “Panias.” Caesarea Philippi also boasted a shining marble temple, which had been constructed by Herod Philip in honor of Caesar, the Roman Emperor, who was revered as a deity at the time.

It was here, in this city committed to the worship of idols and artificial gods, that Jesus picked as the location where He would give His disciples a more complete revelation of Himself.

Furthermore, it was at this place that Simon Peter realized for the first time that Jesus Christ was, in fact, the Son of God.

The Lord’s first question is this: “Whom do men say that I am?”

Jesus was well aware of what the public was saying about Him. He wasn’t paranoid, and He wasn’t looking for attention from others. To get the disciples to reflect about their own beliefs about who Jesus was, Jesus used the ideas of the people about His identity to provoke them to consider their own beliefs about who Jesus was. · When Jesus poses this inquiry, his men respond by telling him what they have been hearing from others. They said that some believe you are “John the Baptist,” while others believe you are “Elias,” and still others believe you are “one of the prophets.” Let’s take a moment to dissect their response in more detail.

It was a message of repentance and virtue that both men delivered.

Herod Antipas, of course, believed that Jesus was none other than John the Baptist, who had been risen from the grave, as recorded in Mark 6:14.

Others believed that Jesus was Elijah raised from the dead.

In light of the fact that both Jesus and Elijah conducted ministries that were defined by clear, compelling preaching and persuasive miracles, this makes a bit more sense.

Others believed that Jesus was “One of the prophets”.

There were many names on this list, including such luminaries as Moses, Daniel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Hosea, and others.Like Moses, Jesus declared the Law of God.Like Isaiah, Jesus preached about sacrifice and holiness.After all, he was “a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief,” as the prophet Isaiah said of himself. As with Daniel, Jesus’ message was a prophecy of a coming King and His kingdom. As with Jeremiah, Jesus’ ministry was characterized by compassion and brokenness. As with Hosea, Jesus loved the unlovable and was willing to redeem lost, wretched sinners.

That’s what the people were saying, but other voices were also expressing their opinions about Jesus in that day.

According to Hinduism, Jesus is only one of millions of gods that exist simultaneously. Jewish tradition holds that Jesus was a great prophet and teacher, but that He is not the divine being that He claims to be.

He is Lucifer’s spiritual sibling in spirit.
According to them, Jesus is not God manifested in the flesh.
The agnostic merely doesn’t know what to believe about Jesus.
However, society does not consider Jesus to be the Savior or that He is God manifested in the flesh.

In regards to Jesus, we have heard the views and thoughts of several folks. Before we can put this concept to rest, we need to hear one more point of view from someone.

What does God in Heaven have to say about this man called Jesus.

17 As I looked up, I heard a voice from heaven say, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well delighted. ”

When Jesus was transfigured, God the Father said:

If God the Father says that Jesus is His Son that is good enough for me!

After hearing what His followers have to say about what others have said, Jesus asks them for their thoughts. The public has spoken, and now he wants to hear their own viewpoints on the subject matter. Here it is, at long last, the decisive time! Everything Jesus has taught them and demonstrated to them has been building up to this point in time, they believe. The culmination of every miracle had led to this one precise point in time. Every word of truth Jesus gave was a call to His followers to come to this great spiritual fork in the path.

Jesus simply asks, “But, Whom say ye that I am?”

Even though it is a basic question, the ramifications of the answer are profound. If one gives the proper response to the question, they will go to Heaven; if one gives the erroneous answer, they will go to Hell. Peter, as was customary, spoke on behalf of the entire group. “Thou art the Christ!” Peter said emphatically. He got it exactly correct! Matthew’s account of these events includes a quotation from Peter, who says, “Thou are the Christ, the Son of the living God,” Matthew 16:16.16 And Simon Peter said, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God,” and the rest is history.

Seeing Jesus, Peter realized that he was the Messiah, which is exactly what the term “Christ” implies.
Its literal translation is “The Anointed One.” Jesus was also referred to be the “Son of God” by Peter.
It is made even more incredible by the fact that, up until this moment, only God and devils have been able to perceive the Lord Jesus as who he truly is.
“And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven,” according to Matthew 16:17.
John 6:44 states that this is true in every genuine conversion.
Those who are saved are those who have their spiritual eyes awakened by the Lord.
2:8-9).

He was well aware of Jesus’ identity, and he freely confessed Him.

On that particular day, there was a guy by the name of Judas Iscariot there.

Judas died a lost cause, and according to Jesus’ own testimony, he was a “demon,” John 6:70.

No one has the authority to speak for you.

Finally, it doesn’t matter what anybody else has to say about Jesus; it all boils down to whether or not you think He is who He claims to be.

What you say in response to that question will influence where you will spend the rest of your life.

You, my friend, are transgressing the law of the light!

Perhaps you are like the agnostic in that you just do not think that anyone can be certain about such things in this life.

Take a look about you at the transformed lives and realize that individuals do not have the ability to bring about such drastic transformation; it is a God-given ability, 2 Cor.

Possibly, you subscribe to some of the erroneous teachings of cults and other faiths regarding Jesus’ divinity.

“Friend, this is the truth: The Bible says in John 3:16 that we are to love one another.

I said therefore to you that ye shall die in your sins: for if you do not believe that I am he, you shall die in your sins,” John 8:24.

Perhaps you consider Jesus to have been only a great teacher or a great leader of men.

Take a look at what C.S.

“I’m trying to prevent anyone from saying the truly silly thing that people often say about him: “I’m ready to accept Jesus as a wonderful moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God,” C.S.

That is the one thing we are not allowed to mention.

He would either be a lunatic, on a par with the man who claims to be a poached egg, or he would be the Devil of Hell, depending on your point of view.

Either this man was and continues to be the Son of God, or he is a lunatic or something far worse.

However, we must refrain from referring to him as a wonderful human teacher in order to avoid appearing condescending.

They were all rescued because of the Lord and Savior.

The question for today is, what do you think about Jesus to be true?

You will either accept Him or reject Him, but you will make a decision about Jesus Christ today, so make your decision now.

“Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God,” could you possibly say?

“I am certain that You are my Savior.” “I reject You, Jesus,” you’d have to proclaim, despite the overwhelming evidence in your favor.

What will the location be? Will you be a part of the heavenly kingdom? Alternatively, do you want to go to Hell?

Who is Jesus to you? Hear Who the Bible says He is:

Adam is known as the Advocate, the Anointed, the Apostle, the Author, the Amen, the Alpha, and the Ancient of Days. The Beginning, the Begotten, the Beloved, the Branch, the Bread, the Bridegroom, the Bright and Morning Star, the Bishop of our souls, and the Radiance of the Father’s splendor are all names for Jesus Christ. Christ is known as the Captain of our Salvation, the Consolation, the Chief Cornerstone, the Counselor, the Covenant, the Chosen of God, and the Christ. The Daysman, the Deliverer, the Dayspring, the Daystar, the Door, and the Desire of all nations are all names for the same person.

Finisher of our faith, Friend, Forerunner, First Fruits, Faithful Witness, Fountain of life are some of the terms used to describe Jesus.
The Holy One is known as “Help, Hope, Husband, Horn of Salvation, Hearer, Head of the Church, Heir of all things, High Priest, Hell’s fear, Heaven’s marvel,” and “Healer” in other languages.
Jesus is known as Judah, the Just, the Judge, and the Judge.
The Life, the Light, the Love, the Lily, the Lion, the Lamb, the Lawgiver, the Living Stone, and the Lord of Glory are all metaphors for Christ.
Offspring of David, Omega, Only Begotten of God, Offering, and The Offerer are all names for those who are descended from David.

Righteousness, Rabbi, Ransom, Rest, Root of Jesse, Root of David, Refiner, Refuge, Resurrection, Rose of Sharon, Ruler, Rock of Ages, Regenerate Breath, Root of Jesse, Root of David, Refiner, Refuge, Resurrection, Regenerate Breath Stone, Shepherd, Son of God, Son of Man, Shield, Servant, Seed of the Woman, Surety, Sufferer, Saviour, Sinless Sacrifice, the Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever.

Teacher, Truth, Tabernacle, Testator, Treasure, and Tree of Life are all biblical terms.

Whom Do Men Say that I am?

In verses 30 and 31, Jesus instructed His followers not to inform anybody. He did this since he didn’t have enough time. If they had gone around the country preaching that Jesus was the Messiah, the amount of opposition would have grown to such an extent that Jesus would have been unable to complete His mission. Today, His mission has been completed, and He has commanded us to tell the rest of the world about Him, as well. That is exactly what I have attempted to achieve today. Before you even begin to think about it, please respond to the following question: “Who is Jesus to you?” “Can you tell me your response?

Is He your personal Savior? Is He your Lord? Is He a wonderful teacher and a great leader of men? Do you think so? Is He a good example to follow? Is He a myth or a reality? Is your life a reflection of the person you claim Jesus to be?

Who Is Jesus For Me

Today’s WORD reminds me to constantly be mindful of who Jesus is in my life and how he has shaped it. The disciples are shown in the narrative questioning Jesus, “Who am I to you?” (Who am I to you?). The identity of Jesus was not significant to him, and he did not inquire as to what other people thought he looked like. What matters to him is how he is seen by others around him. Who he is in the eyes of his devotees. Jesus is the Christ of God, according to Peter’s proclamation. Jesus then affirmed it and reminded them that, despite the fact that he is God, he will have to suffer at the hands of people – telling them that they would suffer as well as he would as his followers – but that they would do so with the assurance of victory when Jesus told them he would be raised on the third day.

It makes no difference what other people believe Jesus to be.

It makes no difference what we want to do in our life.

And we can only claim him as our God if we have an intimate and personal contact with him on a daily basis.

Without them, we cannot claim that he is our God with any sincerity.

We are confronted with a difficult situation today.

We can’t just declare him to be our God and move on with our lives.

We must have a continual awareness of how we conduct ourselves in our daily lives.

We all have a responsibility.

What does Jesus mean to you?

Do you prioritize Him as the most important person in your life?

Do you think that He has the ability to do great things through and for you?

Do you do it on a regular basis?

May we strive to establish a close and personal connection with Him, and may we work even more to preserve and expand that relationship.

What is the purpose of bringing the LORD’s assembly to this desert, where we and our cattle are perishing in droves?

There isn’t even any water to drink in this place!” Moses and Aaron, on the other hand, walked away from the gathering and to the entrance of the meeting tent, where they fell down on the ground.

Drinking water for the crowd and their cattle will come forth from the rock that you will carve out.” As a result, Moses removed his staff from its position before the LORD, as directed by the LORD.

Is it our responsibility to bring you water from this rock?” Then, lifting his hand, Moses struck the rock twice with his staff, causing a torrent of water to flood forth for the people and their animals to consume.

It was here, on the waters of Meribah, that the children of Israel engaged in a battle with the LORD and where the LORD unveiled his holiness to them.
