Even though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you have not seen him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and beautiful pleasure, for you are getting the fruit of your faith, namely, the salvation of your souls, as a reward for your perseverance. Sometimes it might be difficult to live in this world when God appears to be a long distance away. We want for something substantial to which we may hold. In order to comfort us that life is more than what we can see directly in front of us, Bible scriptures are provided.

And knowing this in the depths of our souls, with all of our hearts, fills us with an amazing sense of happiness!

3 – 2 John 1:12 – Joy In Relationships

I have a lot to say to you, but I don’t want to put it all down on paper and ink. Instead, I wish to pay you a personal visit and speak with you face to face so that our happiness may be full. In contrast to the majority of Bible texts, which speak only of delight in one’s relationship with God, this verse speaks of joy in human connection. Have you ever been in a relationship that was long distance? Did you have a family member who was deployed? The satisfaction of writing letters to them, composing emails to them, and hearing their voices during phone conversations is amazing, but the satisfaction of being able to hold them in your arms again is priceless.

There is enormous satisfaction in making a physical connection with friends and family members!

4 – Luke15:7 – Joy In Repentance

According to what I have said, there will be greater happiness in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine good folks who do not need to repent in the same way. That moment when someone acknowledges their need for Jesus is such a lovely thing. When someone repents, they are doing much more than simply admitting that they were wrong. It isn’t even about feeling sorrow within, and it isn’t even about merely sulking and shaking your head in humiliation either. Instead of feeling remorse, this delight stems from the restoration of a damaged connection with God, the acceptance of his unfathomable gift of forgiveness, and the decision to follow in His footsteps.

5 – Nehemiah 8:10 – The Joy Of The Lord Is My Strength

“Go and eat delicious food and drink pleasant beverages, and send some to those who have nothing prepared,” Nehemiah instructed. This day is a sacred one in the eyes of our Lord. “Do not be discouraged, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Knowing that God is who He claims to be is a wonderful feeling. Believing in God’s ability to achieve what He claims He can do is also beneficial. However, it is by experiencing the joy of the Lord that you will be able to obtain this power. Sure, we like the sensation of happiness, but it is far more powerful than we can comprehend!

It is something that transforms our lives.

6 – 2 Corinthians 6:10 – Rejoicing In Our Sorrow

Even when in mourning, he is always in good spirits; he is destitute, yet he makes others wealthy; he has nothing, but he has everything. Jesus came to the world with a message that was completely counter-cultural. The idea of finding joy in our misery seems absurd, but it is feasible! God dresses us in gladness and transforms our sadness into joyful dancing!

7 – Psalm 30:5 – Joy Comes In The Morning

After all, his wrath is fleeting, but his favor is eternal; mourning may endure all night, but happiness will greet you first thing in the morning. In this Psalm, we are assured of a better future, which is quite consoling. It’s possible that this Bible scripture may not refer to a joyous dawn in the literal sense of the word. It is not a formula that provides us with a timetable for our difficulties. However, this passage of Scripture provides us with a ray of hope to hold on to. These are trying times, but they are not without significance.

Despite the fact that the difficulties we are experiencing seem interminable, they are only transient.

8 – Galatians 5:22-23 – Joy Is A Fruit Of The Spirit

Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, on the other hand, are the fruits of the Spirit. There is no legislation that protects people from such activities. As a Christian, this is one of my favorite Bible verses about joy because it paints such a lovely picture of the characteristics of a fruitful life in Christ. Many Christians believe that suffering is a sign of a good Christian life – that continuously going without oneself in order to provide for others – but this is not always true.

Generosity is unquestionably a divine attribute, but it should be accompanied by delight in the giving! Choose acts of love that serve and fulfill us as we strive to bring honor and credit to Christ via our actions!

9 – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Give thanks in all circumstances because this is God’s wish for you in Christ Jesus: to rejoice always, to pray constantly, and to give thanks in all circumstances. “Rejoice at all times.” Those are some powerful words! We are not just expected to be glad when things go well or the way we want (or anticipate) them to happen; we are also supposed to be glad when things go wrong. Despite our circumstances – whether they are good, awful, or ugly – there is joy to be found in any situation. Take the time to go out and find it, and then photograph it.

10 – John 16:24

You have not requested anything in my name up until this point. You will receive everything you ask for, and your delight will be full. Can you fathom experiencing joy on the scale depicted in this passage of Scripture? A delight that is comprehensive and does not leave anything out. When God has already blessed us with so much, asking may seem so self-indulgent. However, God loves in our asking, seeking, and knocking, as it indicates a desire to see more of His will manifested in our lives.

The Joy of Jesus

THE ORIGINAL SOURCE OF JOY The following is what Jesus says in John 15:11: “These things have I said unto you, that my joy may abide in you, and that your joy may be complete.” The delight you will experience as a Christian is the joy that Jesus has for you. He refers to my delight as opposed to joylikemine. Jesus desires to take the joy that He has and deposit it in your heart via you. Perhaps you’ve only ever thought of Jesus as a man of sorrows, and you’ve never considered Him to be the Jesus of happiness.

1. The term joy literally translates as “to leap or jump” in the original language.
2. Do you remember what happened after that?
3. The word forleaped in the original language is the same word that is used in Hebrews 1:9 to refer to joyfulness.
4. During a wedding, He performed His first miracle, in which He transformed water into wine.
5. There is no other source of true joy than Jesus, not in pleasure, not in renown, and especially not in unbelief.
6. “That this joy will remain in you,” Jesus assures them.
7. That is, at times of sadness and brokenheartedness, God pours the oil of His gladness into the situation.

He abandoned his fiancée in Ireland, and when she finally made it over the water, she was tragically died in a boating accident in the process.

Following that, he sent a letter to his mother in which he included the following lines, which we love to sing: “What a friend we have in Jesus, all our faults and griefs to bear.” In prayer, we have the opportunity to bring everything to God’s attention.

Is there any difficulty in any part of the world?

“Pray about it and bring it to the Lord.” That’s exactly what we need to learn to accomplish in the future.

What is the key to discovering this happiness?

A branch is completely reliant on a vine for survival.

Jesus, the vine, is the one who bears fruit, and we, the branches, bear fruit as well, including the fruit of joyful expectation.

These additional events occur as a result of the organization’s decision to focus on a single issue.

If so, you’re not alone.

When you begin to perceive your life through the lens of that relationship, you will experience a remarkable delight in your heart because the joy of Christ, which is the life of Christ, will be flowing out of Christ and into you.

The Joy Of Knowing Jesus

How getting to know Jesus better would increase your level of happiness in life. 12:2 (Hebrews 12:2) Consider Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the humiliation, and is now seated at the right hand of God’s throne.

You Can Have Joy Because Jesus Has Defeated The World By Overcoming Sin.

Because He is the only one who has never committed even a single sin, and the only one who has consistently kept every commandment of God, even though he was subjected to torture, ridicule, and death among the many other temptations we face on a daily basis without failing, we should thank God for sending Jesus to be our champion. 16:33 (John 16:33) In order for you to have peace with me, I have told these things to you. In the world, you will face tribulation; but, be of good cheer, because I have conquered the world.

You Can Have Joy Because Jesus Died On The Cross For Your Sins.

The entire goal of God sending Jesus (the only son He ever had) was to redeem us from the sins into which we were born, so that when we die, we might live an everlastinglife of love, joy, and peace with them in paradise, where we will spend eternity. John 3:16 is a biblical passage that teaches that God is love. Because God so loved the world that he gave his only born Son, that whomever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life, we are reminded that God is love.

You Can Have Joy When People Persecute You Over Jesus Because You Will Receive a Great Reward When You Get To Heaven.

In light of all that Jesus has done for you, the very least you can do is profess your devotion to Him and follow his commands. Although many will dislike you for it, who cares? What Does the Bible Say About Joy and Why We Should Embrace It

In a time when anger, confusion, fear, and distrust rule the roost, I want to encourage us to lift our heads in prayer. What does the Bible have to say about happiness? You’re ready to join me in a study of the Scriptures for joy, and you’re ready to let your heart to be filled with the peace that can only come from our Lord and Saviour? Let us examine the several reasons why we might find joy in our lives even while the world around us is in chaos.

What is Joy According to the Bible?

When I was reading the book of Nehemiah and pondering the line “the joy of the Lord is my strength,” the notion of studying joy occurred to me. “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and give parts to those for whom nothing has been prepared; forthisdayis sacred to our Lord,” he instructed them. “Do not be discouraged; because the joy of the Lord is your strength. ” (See also Nehemiah 8:10) It is critical to understand the tale behind the verse. In the ancient world, the children of Judah had been banished to Babylon because of their worship of idols.

1. When the years of their punishment are over, God stirs the hearts of his devoted followers to begin a campaign to return to the country their forefathers had been expelled from centuries before.
2. They request that Ezra the prophet read to them from the Law.
3. The people listen intently, their souls yearning for knowledge, and suddenly the magnitude of their sin and disobedience dawns on them, and their hearts begin to cry.
4. Wow, what a breathtaking view.

Following this, Ezra and Nehemiah declare the day to be holy and exhort the people to celebrate and be joyful in their salvation. They tell them to eat and enjoy themselves. Why? Because God has heard what they have to say!

The Difference Between Joy and Happiness

What exactly is the distinction between pleasure and happiness. What, exactly, is the Lord’s delight in us? First and first, I would want to emphasize that happiness is a feeling, and that this is not what I am referring to when I say “joy.” Emotions are our natural responses to the situations we find ourselves in. I am a firm believer that our happiness is not reliant on the circumstances in which we find ourselves. Joy is defined as the ability to be content in the knowledge that God is working all things for the welfare of the individual.

It’s like a form of maturity, forged through trial and error, with a dash of sadness and trust thrown in for good measure.

There are several options to pick from.

Does Joy Come From God?

Does joy come from God? Absolutely! True joy of the Lord does. If you haven’t explored joy much, you may be surprised with the number of verses that have nothing to do with happiness. Changing our mindset can be both challenging and freeing. As you study these verses, lean into God as the source of true and endless joy. We can have the joy of the Lord for these reasons:

• No one has the right to take our Lord away from us. Our God is with us at all times
• Salvation comes to us via the blood of the lamb, and It is just for a season that we are in sorrow and anguish
• Our pleasure will arrive. We have hope in our Lord and Savior
• We have real peace in our God
• And we have a future. God is listening to you

I believe we are all familiar with the scripture “The joy of the Lord is my strength,” but there are many others. Biblical joy is something we all want for, yet it is something we rarely think about. Allow me to introduce you to some biblical passages about joy.

We Have Joy Because Our Lord cannot be taken away

“As a result, you are experiencing grief; nevertheless, I shall see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will be able to take away your joy.” 16:22 (John 16:22) True happiness cannot be taken away from us. Just before his crucifixion, Jesus is speaking to his followers at this location. He was well aware that his followers would be devastated by his death, but he recognized the broader picture and attempted to give them encouragement. His disciples would be experiencing a range of emotions, including uncertainty and dread, before receiving the stunning insight of who the Son of God truly is.

In Zephaniah 3:17, the Bible says

We Have the Joy of the Lord because He is with us

“Cry out and scream, O dweller of Zion, because the Holy One of Israel is in your midst, and magnificent is He in your midst.” Isaiah 12:6 (KJV) Because our source is constantly with us, we may welcome joy with open arms. We may take comfort in knowing that we are not alone in our feelings of perplexity, great anguish, fear, and loss. Our source of tranquility is within our own hearts.

This gives us great pleasure. It is the Lord your God who goes with you; therefore, be strong and courageous, and do not tremble nor be scared of those who are against you. ‘He will never abandon you nor forsake you,’ he promises. (See Deuteronomy 31:6 for further information.)

Salvation Brings Us the Joy of the Lord

If I had to come up with a biblical description of joy, I would have to say that salvation is at the heart of it. When sin entered the earth, our happiness was snuffed out. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we may have that joy restored. If the fig tree does not blossom and no fruit is on the vines, if the olive tree does not bear fruit and the fields produce no food, if the flock is separated from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, then I will rejoice in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.

“Even though you do not see him now, still believing, you are filled with an inexpressible and glorious pleasure, knowing that you have received the goal of your faith, the saving of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:8-9 (New International Version) Faith and happiness are inextricably linked.

Joy Comes in the Morning

This is arguably one of the most well-known passages in the Bible that speaks about biblical joy. When we realize that, no matter how deep our sorrows have gone, the Bible promises that joy will return in the morning, it is a reassuring thought. Because His wrath lasts just a moment, and His favors last a lifetime; weeping may last for a night, but joy will come in the morning. (Psalm 30:5; cf. I have found solace in the thought that we all go through phases of hurt, loss, joy, peace, hope, fear, and so on.

Seasons cycle and change continually, just as we too are always evolving.

There is a time to be sad and a time to be joyful: There is a time and a place for everything.

Joy of the Lord brings us hope

If you have been following me for a time, you will have noticed that I speak frequently about hope. This is partly due to the sense of helplessness I had when navigating the grief of losing a kid. It is also attributable in part to the large number of persons whose acts demonstrate how despondent they feel about their situation. This sense of pessimism robs us of a future and wreaks havoc on our current circumstances. When we have Christ in our lives, we are never without hope. You should lean on Christ if you are feeling hopeless; when you seek him, he will come and meet you.

Paul writes in Romans 15:13 that The joy of the Lord does give us hope, and that hope carries us when everything else fails.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnaresus, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising his own shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (See also Hebrews 12:2) The Bible informs us that our delight comes from looking forward to the future.

The Joy of the Lord brings us peace

You are aware that I have not kept my anxiety difficulties a secret from you, but there is a lot to be nervous about, isn’t there? What does the Bible have to say about happiness? It is a source of tranquility for us! My soul is delighted by Your comforts, even in the midst of my troubles inside me.” Psalm 94:19 (KJV) Psalm 94:19 does not use the word joy, but I believe the phrase “delight my soul” is near enough to the meaning of the term. Psalm 27:6 (KJV) “Consider it pure pleasure, my brothers and sisters, when you are tested in many ways, knowing that the testing of your faith creates patience.

Yes, keep in mind that genuine happiness has nothing to do with what is going on in your surroundings.

Be Joyful Because God Hears You!

What does the Bible have to say about happiness? We are glad because God hears what we are saying. Then you will come to Me and pray to Me, and I will pay attention to what you have to say. As well as seeking and finding Me, when you seek Me with all your heart, you will find Me. (See Jeremiah 29:12-13 for further information). I’m not going to provide all of the scriptures regarding prayer in this post; instead, I’m going to use this one from 1 John to demonstrate my point about joy. “We have trust in Him because He has promised that if we ask anything according to His will, He will hear us.

What Does the Bible Say About Joy

Final words from Charles Spurgeon, who has written a lengthy commentary on the joy of the Lord that goes far deeper than this piece about what the Bible says about joy. I’ll end with a quotation from him. The love of God our Father, however, does not leave us to look for pleasure; rather, it is brought to our doorsteps by the grace of God our Father; joy refined and gratifying, as befits eternal souls.” God has not abandoned us to wander among the unsatisfactory things that mock the chase that they invite; he has given us appetites that carnal things cannot satisfy, and he has provided suitable satisfaction for those appetites; he has stored up at his right hand pleasures for evermore, which he even now reveals to those chosen ones whom he has taught to long for them through the power of his Spirit.” (Source: Charles Spurgeon) What passages from the Bible concerning joy give you hope and comfort?
