Is it possible to say, “pandemonium?” Nonetheless, it is how Jesus operates and what an AWESOMELY-GOD HE is

Allow me to close off our discussion with a quotation from author C.S Lewis. As he says in the introduction to his book, “Mere Christianity,” “I’m trying to prevent anyone from saying the truly silly thing that people sometimes say about Him:”I’m willing to accept Jesus as a wonderful moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God.” That is the one thing we are not allowed to mention. It would be difficult to consider Jesus a great moral teacher if he were simply a man who spoke the kinds of things Jesus said.

You are required to make a decision.

The options are to shut him up as a naive fool, spit at him and kill him as a demon, or to prostrate yourself at his feet and address him as Lord and God.

That is not something he has left available to us.

4. JESUS’ FAVORITE FOOD WAS FISH

Okay. This is a bit of a stretch. However, the narratives of His life in the New Testament appear to contain a large number of fish. For starters, He decided to refer to His disciples as “fishermen.” The butchers or the farmers might have been contacted, but noooooooo.why? Because He enjoys eating fish! Two, following His resurrection and prior to His ascension, He gathers His followers for a significant supper, probably the final meal they would ever have. What was on the menu? Yup. FISH! Why do you believe He picked the seafood choice on two consecutive times (Mark 6:31-34 and Mark 8:1-9) while He was feeding crowds numbering in the thousands, aside from those two very strong arguments?

5. JESUS LOVED TO PARTEE!

So, Jesus is attending a wedding reception, correct? The bottle of wine has been depleted. Hospitality is highly regarded in the cultures of the Middle East and North Africa. Running out of wine on a wedding day may be quite uncomfortable for the bride and groom, and it would almost certainly result in the celebration coming to an abrupt halt! Having a sufficient amount of alcohol to become inebriated on has absolutely nothing to do with this. When Jesus learns of this, even though He has made it plain that He is not yet ready to expose Himself to the world, He goes out of His way to ensure that the party continues by magically converting several jars of water into even more delicious wine!

Okay, so you’re still not convinced?

• Luke 14 describes how Jesus accepts an invitation to an after-dinner party with a Pharisee
• He relates a fable about another fantastic celebration while at the same gathering. As he narrates three episodes in Luke 15, they all conclude with a party or some other type of celebration
• Every time someone repents and turns to God, the angels throw a celebration, according to Luke 15:10, which brings us behind the scenes of spiritual reality. Luke 5:29 describes Matthew the Tax Collector throwing a feast for Jesus and inviting all of his outcast acquaintances to attend. As recorded inLuke 19:1-10, Jesus invites Himself over to Zaccheus’ house for an unplanned gathering. Is it true that you’ve read the book of Revelation? On several times, we witness multiethnic throngs of people rejoicing in front of the throne of God. Moreover, I haven’t even mentioned the ultimate party that everyone believes is still yet to take place, The Marriage Feast of the Lamb

What is my point? Because Jesus enjoys a nice party, you should throw one this weekend and invite someone who doesn’t typically get asked to gatherings.

6. JESUS GOT REALLY MAD A FEW TIMES

Despite the fact that many of us would never actually pray to “dear eight-pound, six-ounce newborn infant Jesus, who doesn’t even know a word yet, just a little infant and so cuddly, but still omnipotent.”, we all prefer to picture in our minds’ eyes a,”Happy Jesus Who is Warm and Inviting” when we call on Him in prayers. After all, no one wants to pray to Angry-Jesus in the first place! However, there are at least two instances in the Scriptures where we are confronted with a less-than-jovial version of Jesus.

1. He asked them a question about healing someone who was in need on the Sabbath, and they refused to answer since their response would expose their hypocrisy to the rest of the congregation.
2. I have another confession to make: it is hard for me to imagine an angry Jesus in my mind’s eye at this point.
3. Oddly enough, I have a mental image of him as pensive or silent, rather than aggressive.
4. The temple moneychangers and animal merchants, who had effectively pimped-out God’s home, are chased out by Jesus, who constructs a whip out of cords and flips over tables with all their products and wares in the process.
5. Jesus is not just the lover of our souls, but He is also a judge, and we will all have to give an account before Him at some point in the future.
6. It was His concern for the preservation of God’s purity and worship that prompted His displeasure in the latter case.

The fact remains that it was entirely within His control, that it had the appropriate concentration and motive, that it lasted for a reasonable amount of time, and that it ended up producing the desired result.

7. JESUS IS COMING BACK.not IN A MANGER! (HINT: HE’LL HAVE A SWORD, AN ARMY, …AND A TATTOO)

In college, I had a roommate who once asked me a sincere and honest inquiry regarding my religious beliefs. “Shegz, do you ever get scared that if Jesus returns, the uber-religious mega-Church leaders of today would persecute Him and possibly kill Him as they did back in the day?” the question went something like this. When He returns, not only will He be packing a lot of heat, but He’ll also be ready to kick some serious tail!” I don’t remember exactly what I said in response, but I do recall saying something along the lines of, “When He returns, not only will He be packing a lot of heat, but He’ll also be ready to kick some serious tail!” That is something that even the greatest man who ever lived would agree with because he once said that there was a time for every season and a time for every matter under the heavens.

There was a time when Jesus came to earth in the guise of a helpless newborn to serve as a lowly servant.

According to the Bible, a time is approaching when the dead in Christ will rise first, accompanied by the voice of the archangel and the sound of God’s trumpet.

Everyone on the planet will witness His burning eyes, his flowing white robe drenched in blood along the edges, an army behind Him and a sword of judgment issuing forth from Him, as well as a name tattooed on His thigh that reads, “King of Kinds and LORD of LORDS.” That second coming will be followed by a period when every knee will bend, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father, at which point the world will be saved.

• Lift your sight to the horizon!

• Are you fed up with religion?

Play! Play! Play! (Having Fun With Jesus)

“Play! Play! Play!” that’s what our buddy Papa Joe Johnson said to Kristi and me when we were in need of encouragement. What kind of game do you like to play? When do you get to have a good time? Do you understand how to have a good time with Jesus? This is a critical question for your daily living and enjoying life. In the joyous delight of the Lord, we are rejuvenated via play. It aids in the formation of bonds between us and the people we care about. It brightens and uplifts our emotions, allowing us to be more effective in our efforts to bless others with our gifts.

A Playful Sabbath Weekend

We spent our Sabbath weekend in Oceanside, California, at a cabin that was directly on the ocean. (This is the location where the photograph above was taken!) We had a good time with Jesus in the following ways:

• Walks on the beach
• Listening to one another express our feelings
• Chatting with friends Sleeping in, cuddling, and watching a movie are all enjoyable pastimes. Watching a portion of a football game (thanks to Kristi for doing this for me! )
• Eating ice cream, reading the Gospels, and chatting about Jesus are all activities that come to mind. While holding hands, I’m skipping while breathing with my belly and soul in order to be present to God in the moment. (It just takes a few skips to make you genuinely joyful! )
• And

You have the option to play in a variety of ways. Any good, cheerful entertainment that may be enjoyed with a buddy is definitely a blessing from God! As we were going down the shore, we came upon a wonderful small cross of sand on a rock, which seemed to confirm God’s confirmation!

Some believe that payment is owed to Satan, to whom Adam and Eve had betrayed humankind, while others believe that payment is owed to the Father, whose righteous anger towards humanity must be appeased via sacrifice.

Many people believe that Christians are very serious individuals who never have fun, laugh, or smile, but this is untrue. Seriously, we are also human beings! Rather of having a devastated heart, Scripture advises us to have a glad heart. There’s nothing wrong with spending time with friends and having a good time. There is nothing wrong with participating in activities such as paintball shooting, weightlifting, manhunt, bowling, and so on. Now, if your idea of pleasure involves sinning, seeming bad, and being a part of the world, then Christians should avoid participating in such activities.

When Did Jesus Laugh?

Is it possible that Jesus had a sense of humour throughout his ministry? Did he make a funny face? How did he employ sarcasm, exaggeration, and other amusing approaches to have a little fun while simultaneously imparting important lessons to the audience? This article provides a quick look at some amusing occurrences and bits of comedy that occurred throughout the Lord’s ministry on the earth. Despite popular belief, Jesus did not spend his whole bodily life on earth in a state of grief and grave seriousness.

According to reasoning, our sense of humour can be traced back to the two Beings, God the Father and Jesus Christ, who determined what our collective skills and qualities would be.

Some Bible students, however, might get so used to its passages that they fail to take a step back and analyze what they have read from a fresh viewpoint.

The sons of commotion

When Jesus chose the twelve disciples who would be his tightest circle, he did it with a dash of sarcasm and a whole lot of good-natured fun. James and John (who were brothers) were given the nickname “Boanerges” by the author of Mark, who was the sole book in which he was found (Mark 3:17, KJV). This moniker literally translates as “sons of thunder” or “sons of disturbance” in English. It was very certainly offered as a comical acknowledgement of their occasionally impetuous and misguided actions, as well as their over-the-top passion that would express itself during his ministry, and it was received as such (see Luke 9:51 – 55, Mark 9:38, 10:35 – 45).

A log in the eye

Jesus, in his well-known Sermon on the Mount, displayed his sense of humour when he said, “For what reason do you focus your attention on the speck in your brother’s eye while paying no regard to the log in your own eye? . First and foremost, remove the log from your own eye.” (Luke 6:41 – 42, New International Version). Imagining a man with a large wooden beam in his eye, searching for something little on another person, would make a young child laugh out loud while reading the words above.

He is employing a humorous and exaggerated example to teach humility and the need of not focusing on the minor defects that we notice in others.

We finally found one!

Jesus displays his sense of humour early in his mission, just after he asks Philip to be his disciple. Philip, upon informing Nathanael that the Messiah has been discovered, answers with a caustic remark, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” (See John 1:46.) “Here is a real descendant of our ancestor Israel,” the Lord declares as Nathanael approaches him to meet him for the first time. The Bible says, “And he is not deceptive” (John 1:47, CEV)! It is possible that the subtle sarcasm stems from the fact that Israel’s original given name was Jacob, which meant “one who is full of deceit” or “one who deceives.” Nathanael’s critique is being played off by Jesus, who is amusingly commenting that an Israelite has been discovered who is not like his ancestor!

Puppy love

Christ’s sense of humour is on show once more as he engages in a brief chat with a Gentile woman who had interrupted his supper. The mom, who was kneeling alongside him, pleaded with Jesus to expel a demon from her daughter (Mark 7:25 – 26). “I have declined your request,” Jesus stated in response to her plea “First and foremost, the children must be nourished! It is not acceptable to steal their food and give it to dogs instead ” (verse 27). Jesus’ comment relates to the fact that he was sent primarily to redeem the lost sheep of Israel, as opposed to other purposes (Matthew 15:24).

It is only after she has responded with a witty response that her request is granted.

It is the most important component of happiness, and it is one of the fundamental characteristics of the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from our heavenly Father (Galatians 5:22 – 23).

God the Father and Jesus do, in fact, have a good sense of humour and enjoy a good chuckle!
