Time Management. God, Are You Sure?

by Kelly Jedele

I love this verse in Luke about being intentional with our time and resources. Luke 14:28 “For which of you, wanting to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it?” God wants us to be intentional with our time. I don’t know about you, but I often get overwhelmed with the fact that I only have so much time on this earth and I SHOULD be “calculating the cost” of what I am doing each day…and then I see the “should” in that statement and pause. What DOES God want us doing with our time we have on this earth?

I hear Him say to me to slow down, listen to Him and enjoy. Wow…not start another event or build another ministry or find someone to help? Nope. I think, oh so often, we overthink our need to plan and give, when God wants us to really enjoy what He has put in our lives. For me I’ve been looking for a husband for 12 years. 12 years!!! I just recently decided to stop looking and enjoy my daughter and the hobbies I love, like salsa dancing and reading (those couldn’t be more different, right?!). God wants us to know He has the plan for our lives and to listen and enjoy Him. The time will pass and the goals will be complete, but we will miss out greatly if we do not savor the love of our sweet Jesus every day and allow Him to show us love and peace.

I am excited to share more with you on October 5th! We will jump in to this topic of Time Management and how to make the best use of our time here on earth. God knows we are powerful women with many avenues to bless so many people. I’m looking forward to discussing this and some concrete ways to get us feeling productive and complete. Until then beautiful sisters!
