When You Walk Into the Room – Lyrics & Chords – Bryan & Katie Torwalt

Every thing changes as you enter into a room, according to verse 1. When you enter into the room, the darkness begins to shake in response to the light that you bring, and every heart begins to beat faster. Nothing is more important than simply sitting here at your feet and worshiping you. CHORUS We adore you and will never stop loving you. We can’t function properly without you, Jesus. This is all for you, Jesus, and we can’t seem to get enough of you. VERSE TWO As soon as you go inside the room, the sickness begins to fade away.

BRIDGE All we are is available for you to consume, God.

We want You, and we want You now.

Is ‘When You Walk Into The Room’ Biblical?

Deborah Cortelazzi captured this image. In fact, the songWhen You Walk Into The Roomwas first requested by the artist William McDowell; nevertheless, it was written by BryanKatie Torwalt, who is also the original artist (and writer). McDowell’s rendition is a partial cover of the song. Singer-songwriters Bryan and Katie Torwalt met for the first time at a Bethel Ministry event in Redding, California, in 2006. After meeting for the first time, the couple began dating and eventually married in 2009.

This, as well as their 2013 release ofKingdom Come, were both critical and economic successes for the band.

New users should be aware that this is a different sort of review site!

1. What message does the song communicate?

As the title suggests, it recounts the numerous events that take place when Jesus enters a room, either spiritually or literally (in certain situations). His Presence has the following effects:

  • It is necessary for darkness to be beaten, for hearts to hunger for Him to the point of eternal praise, for disease to be healed, and for hopeless situations to be vanquished. resurrection on a spiritual (and in some circumstances, physical) level
  • A burning longing for Him

As a response, we as Christians adore Him and shall continue to do so for all of eternity, even after we have died physically. Please keep in mind that these claims should not be taken as absolutes. They are not phrased in this manner, yet some may be misled into believing that God will promise healings as a result of the way they are phrased. That is the central tenet of the Word of Faith movement, which is in direct conflict with Scripture. Score:9/10

2. How much of the lyrics line up with Scripture?

With the exception of Verse 2, line 2, I found all of the lyrics to be consistent with Scripture. There is at least one verse in the Bible that might be seen as contradictory. The lyrics have been provided with permission. * Every aspect of the environment changes when you step into the room. The following phrase serves as an excellent illustration of this. “You” is identified as Jesus by the Chorus. The darkness begins to shake in response to the light that You provide. His brightness extinguishes the darkness (Psalm 107:10-16, Luke 1:79, John 1:1-13, John 12:46, Ephesians 5:8, Colossians 1:13, and 1 Peter 2:9).

  1. He is the object of our hearts’ longing rather than our former, dark, and sinful selves (Romans 6:1-11, Romans 7:4-6, Galatians 2:19-20, 2 Timothy 2:11, and 1 Peter 2:24).
  2. Because we are Christians, we place God first, with everything else seen as a source of hostility in the eyes of the world (Luke 14:26).
  3. We shall serve and worship the King of Kings for all of eternity (Nehemiah 9:5, Psalm 30:12, Psalm 52:9, Psalm 86:12, Psalm 89:1, Psalm 115:18, Psalm 145:1-2, Psalm 145:21, and Revelation 5:9-13).
  4. We are unable to do so literally (John 15:5).
  5. The reason we’re doing this is to show You how much we love and appreciate you.
  6. As soon as you go inside the room, the sickness begins to fade away.
  7. It is those who believe themselves to be righteous who will not seek Him out.

Every bleak situation eventually comes to an end.

He was stoned to death and died as a result of it.

One may argue that Stephen’s death serves as a type of rescue operation.

Were they rescued as well, but it took God a little longer?

That being the case, I suppose we might claim that the Torwalts intended their statement to be accurate.

I’ll be generous and only remove one point because it’s not apparent from the lyrics what they were trying to convey.

He also raised them spiritually (Mark 5:41-43, Luke 7:11-17, and John 11:1-44).

God, please come and devour everything we are.

We give You our permission, and our hearts are completely Yours.

See the comments on lines 4 and 5 of Verse 1 for further information.

We give You our permission, and our hearts are completely Yours.

God, please come and devour everything we are.

We want You, we want You, we want You. God, please come and devour everything we are. We give You our permission, and our hearts are completely Yours. We want You, we want You, we want You. Lines 1-3 are repeated a total of three times. Score:9/10

3. How would an outsider interpret the song?

You may recall that I mentioned guaranteed healings in Section 1 of this article. This becomes a more significant issue when dealing with unbelievers, many of whom have had their prayers go unanswered, leading them to abandon their erroneous understanding of Christianity. Other than verse 2, line 2 of the second verse, this does not appear to be the fault of the Torwalts. A more relative expression would have been more appropriate in this case, as it is an absolute declaration. They will not be misled by the core message that has been presented to them.

That is the belief held by Christians.

4. What does this song glorify?

My interpretation is that it celebrates God through their account of Jesus’ influence on the world, but that it is partially masked by the regrettable absolute declaration in Verse 2. Score:9/10

Closing Comments

Bryan When You Walk Into The Room is a song by Katie Torwalt. In general, it’s a decent song. It addresses the fundamentals of Christ’s relationships with the world, including how He causes healings and resurrections in individuals with whom He comes into contact, ultimately giving Him honor. Unbelievers will have little difficulty in obtaining an explanation. Even though it is (largely) not the artist’s fault, some people may believe that God will heal us if we ask for it, similar to how a cosmic slot machine works, after viewing the artwork.

Worship pastors, particularly those leading churches that are sensitive to the needs of seekers, should proceed with prudence if they decide to incorporate this into their services.
