Jesus Let Me Know Where I Lost You

Prayer to St. Anthony to find an item that was lost

It may be quite frustrating to misplace or lose something important. This is especially true if you have misplaced an item or object that you require immediately. Fortunately, St. Anthony of Padua is on hand to provide a helping hand. Both the Portuguese and the Italians claim Saint Anthony as their own, and not without good reason on both sides: born in Lisbon in 1195 under the name Fernando de Bulloes y Taveira de Azevedo, he entered the Order of Friars Minor (that is, the Franciscan Order) and took the name Antonio, in homage to San Antonio Abad, before becoming known as Saint Anthony of Rome.

In certain circles, Saint Anthony is referred to be the “Patron Saint of Lost Things.” His personal narrative serves as the foundation for everything.

It was only after St.

Pray this prayer when you are feeling lost

Some of us may have periods in our lives when we feel lost or abandoned, unsure of where we should go with our lives or how we will ever get out of the mess we have found ourselves in. It is a terrible emotion to bear, and it is during these moments that we believe God is the furthest off from us. The good news is that God has already begun looking for you and your family. “What do you think?” Jesus asked the disciples in the Gospel of Matthew. Do you think a guy would leave the ninety-nine sheep on the hills to go in search of one of his sheep who has gone astray if he had a hundred sheep and one of them has gone astray?

  • As a result, it is not the desire of my heavenly Father that any of these young ones should perish” (Matthew 18:12-14).
  • It is our responsibility to follow him, allowing him to lead us by the hand out of the hole we have dug for ourselves.
  • I have absolutely no notion where I am heading, my Lord God.
  • What I do know is that I have no idea where it will go.
  • However, I feel that the desire to satisfy you is a genuine pleasure for you.
  • I sincerely hope that I will never do anything other than what I truly want.
  • As a result, even if I appear to be lost and under the shadow of death, I will always put my faith in you.

A Prayer For When You Feel You’ve Lost Your Way

Tanja Heffner is a woman who works in the fashion industry. I’m in a downward spiral. I’m soaring in the air. My head is whirling. I’m starting to lose track of you and your love in my heart. My attempts to remain focused on the person I’m intended to be, the person you’ve made me to be, have failed miserably, and I’m at a loss for what to do. I’m in desperate need of your assistance. That sensation of being separated from you, the anxiety, the tiredness, the battle to get out of bed in the morning, the sense of futility when it comes to my purpose and my position in the universe—I have no idea when it all started.

  1. Getting out of bed used to make me feel like I was on top of the world.
  2. I used to sense your presence in every step I made; I was so driven, perhaps even a bit conceited, since I believed I was doing what I was meant to be accomplishing.
  3. But, isn’t that a bit ridiculous?
  4. It’s ridiculous to believe for a second that you’d forsake me, despite the fact that my existence is insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
  5. Because you aren’t going to.
  6. At every point when I began to doubt your presence, you introduced something into my life that demonstrated to me that I was never alone.
  7. So what is it about now that I’m having second thoughts?

God, I need a reminder of who I am and where I’m going. I need a reminder of who you are and have always been. I need a reminder of the powerful, loving Savior I serve and the incredible things He’s forever doing in the lives of those who follow Him.

I’m quite aware that I’m making a mistake by allowing my human doubts and concerns to cloud my judgment. Although I see that I am being naive, I believe that I am so far away from your light that I will be unable to find my way back. I realize I’m being naive in believing that you don’t care about me or that I’m lost and will never be discovered again. It’s just so difficult when the rest of the world continues to revolve around me—no matter how hard I try, I always seem to be three steps behind.

  1. I don’t have to measure up, to fit in, or to be ‘on track’ according to human standards; I only have to be exactly where you want me to be at any given time.
  2. Also, I need to trust that you’re in command and will guide me through this period of uncertainty.
  3. And you have no intention of leaving.
  4. Take some long breaths and think clearly for me.
  5. When I begin to wonder, demonstrate to me answers as well as the will to keep going forward, even when I feel like I’m at a standstill.

When doors close in front of me, please open new ones for me to walk through. Please grant me the confidence to seek out connections that will both grow me and respect you when people move away from me.

When I don’t know who I am anymore, tell me that I am yours.

So I want to be nothing more than a normal person in this insane world. Please remind me every time I forget anything important.

Lord Jesus, help me to understand myself and You, and to seek nothing other than You alone. Allow me to despise myself and fall in love with You. Allow me to do everything I need to serve Your cause. Allow me to be humble in order to praise You. Allow me to think about nothing else except You. Allow me to die to myself and learn to live in You. Allow me to embrace whatever occurs as though it came from You. Allow me to put myself aside and follow You, with a burning desire to do so. Allow me to flee from myself and seek refuge in You, so that I may earn the right to be guarded by You in return.

  • Allow me to doubt myself and put my faith in You instead.
  • Allow me to cling on nothing but You, and allow me to be impoverished as a result of Your generosity.
  • Please contact me so that I may see You and enjoy You for the rest of my life.

See, I come from a family of immigrants who did not have the option to seek a higher degree due to financial constraints.

The first time I met with Emelia Hammond, our recruiting coordinator, I had the distinct impression that I was desired in this program.

During my year and a half here, I’ve had the chance to form relationships with members of the Madison faculty and staff, and it appears that they are interested in me as a person — my hobbies, my identity, and my past, rather than simply my academics.

This enabled them to better advise me through my academics as well as my personal life.

These interactions have been really beneficial to me as I have become more comfortable navigating college.

I have frequent interactions with several of the teachers at James Madison University, such as Professor Rashida L.

Her first-generation and low-income upbringing was something I could identify with and sympathize with.

It is important for me to not be afraid of who I am.

I’ve never been without a roof over my head or gone hungry, but I’ve had to work hard to get material items like an Xbox or a computer.

Being authentic to myself entails sharing my life experiences with others and explaining how these events have shaped my moral compass.

Because of Professor Harrison’s counsel and the newfound connection I’ve made with him, I’m motivated to be the greatest version of myself, and it all starts with simply being myself.
