How Jesus Changed My Life

People frequently make the decision to follow Jesus while they are facing a difficult situation. Afterwards, people inquire as to “How can Jesus transform my life?” or “How can Christianity affect your life?” Jessica Sanders, a dear friend of mine, was recently interviewed for my podcast, Rooted by the Stream. The video of that interview will be available on August 18. Jessica shared her testimony of “how Jesus transformed my life” in the letter. I’ll share a little of that tale with you here.

Jesus Can Change Your Life

Jessica describes her experience like way: “When I was 19, I found myself in the throes of a profound, dark meth addiction. What began as a simple get-together evolved into the most difficult struggle of my life, which lasted for the following 15 years. That is to say, I have spent the most of my life in and out of jail and have no intention of altering my ways. Then, while I was on my way to prison, God appeared to me. He broke down all of my barriers and assisted me in transitioning into a life of complete and total freedom from drugs, alcohol, and codependent behavior.

She had truly felt powerless in the face of her meth addiction.

The explanation is that methamphetamine is “a highly addictive synthetic (man-made) stimulant that is extremely potent and highly addictive.” (Source: United States Department of Justice.) Individuals are frequently driven into reliance on marijuana due to the potency of the high and the sensation of pleasure that it produces.

• Additionally, there is a risk of heart attack, stroke, heart inflammation, convulsions, hyperthermia, and mortality linked with this condition.
• People become enslaved by them on all levels: physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
• The fundamental objective of this piece, on the other hand, is to assert that Jesus is the solution to every problem.
• She had been set free by the hand of the Almighty.
• He has the ability to transform anyone’s life.

The Gospel is About Crossing from Death Into Life

What are the ways in which Jesus transforms us? The gospel of Jesus Christ does not make us a better person in any way. Rather, He transforms us from death to life in a profound way.

“Jesus said, ‘Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.’” John 5:24 NIV

Without Jesus, we are dead in our sins, unable to go forward, and have no prospect of entering paradise.

However, because Jesus is the entryway into a better life here on earth as well as into eternal life with God, He very explicitly referred to Himself as the Door or the Gate throughout His teachings. This idea may be found in scriptural writings such as the following:

“Therefore, Jesus said again, ‘Very truly I tell you, I am the gate (door) for the sheep (people).” John 10:7 NIV

God has blessed and magnified him as a great and magnificent Savior. His kindness, mercy, and grace are like a salve to those who are brokenhearted.

How Does Your Faith in Jesus Change Your Life?

In His earthly ministry, Jesus came into contact with a large number of individuals. Because they encountered Him, they frequently went away from Him with their lives completely transformed for the better. Among those who left Jesus altered and ready to minister were the man among the tombs and the Samaritan lady, to name a couple. In the same way, the 120 people who gathered in the Upper Room waited for the Holy Spirit and were transformed. Following their supernatural encounter, they proceeded to set the globe on fire as a result of Jesus’ instructions to them and their adherence to those instructions.

1. “When the Spirit of Christ came into my life in 2014, I was free of addiction, codependency, misery, and anguish,” she explained further.
2. She only needed to learn to trust and mature over the course of the next few years.
3. She grew over her four years of residence at the Healing House Christian Recovery Community.
4. Jessica then moved to Pennsylvania to get a degree in ministry.
5. She is a magnificent picture of the truth that she embodies:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old is gone, the new is here.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV

Jesus takes damaged individuals, heals them, and sends them out into the world to live lives of beauty and service. As a result of His qualification, our previous lives do not prevent us from experiencing this glorious new beginning. The gospel is essentially this: God entered the earth via the person of Jesus Christ. Even though we appear to be excellent enough to be in God’s presence on our own, none of us is capable of doing so. God is holy and without flaw. Jesus came as a bridge, as a mediator between people.

He paid the price in order for Him to be able to grant us His righteousness if we place our faith in Him.

Has Jesus CHANGED Your Life?

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, to the extent that anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW creature; the old things have passed away, and behold, all things have become NEW.” This signifies that Christians will go through a thorough transformation.they will be radically transformed! This change is a miracle act of God performed on the inside, which then begins to manifest itself on the exterior as a studied shifting of conduct. “The old things have gone away, and behold, everything has become new.” Has Jesus made a difference in your life?

Take, for example, the changes that the apostle John talked about, claiming that these are unambiguous indicators of actual redemption in his letter.

Ten Changes in the Lives of True Christians

1. Sin-related sorrow, as well as a need for regular confession and purification. a desire to walk in accordance with God’s message (1 John 1:5–10) (1 John 2:3-6) The Bible says: Genuine, brotherly affection for one’s fellow Christians. (1 John 2:8-11) The Bible says: Love for God is greater than love for material pleasures. (1 John 2:15-17)
2. Sensitivity to the presence of the Holy Spirit inside. (See also 1 John 2:24-27, 3:19-22)
3. Increasing capacity to distinguish between truth and error. (1 John 4:1–6). (1 John 4:1–6)
4. Increasing capability of achieving triumph over sin. (1 John 2:12-14, 5:1-5) 1 John 2:12-14 Confidence in one’s own salvation that has been established. (1 John 3:19-21, 5:11-13)
5. A growing belief in the efficacy of prayer (see 1 John 3:19-21). a firm belief that Jesus is the sole path to salvation (see 1 John 5:14-15)
6. (1 John 5:20)

How did you do?

Is your life already being transformed by the Lord Jesus Christ? If this is not the case, don’t be discouraged. You have the opportunity to be transformed into a new creation in Christ right now. If you will sincerely follow these steps in God’s simple plan of salvation, Jesus Christ will save your soul and transform you into a trophy of His grace. It’s as straightforward as A-B-C.

A = Acknowledge

Consensus with God on the fact that what He says is completely true Recognize that you are a sinner (Ro 3:10-12, 23), that your crimes are deserving of eternal punishment (Ro 6:23), and that you are unable to rescue yourself via your own efforts (Eph 2:8-9).

B = Believe

Be completely, personally, and actively convinced of the reality of God’s word. Believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and the Son of God (Ro 10:9). He paid the whole punishment for all of our sins by dying on the cross (Ro 5:8, John 1:29, Isa 53:6); He literally resurrected from the grave (Ro 10:9); He is ready, willing, and able to rescue you RIGHT NOW (Ro 10:9); He is ready, willing, and able to save you RIGHT NOW (Ro 10:9). (Mat 11:28-30, John 6:37, 5:24, Heb 7:25, Rev 3:10)

C = Confess

Express your faith in God and desire to be saved to Him via serious prayer.

Now…Call Upon the Lord

Identifying with who you are, believing in who Jesus is and what He has done, and confessing confidence in the God of the Christian Bible, you can then ask Jesus to rescue you by praying to Him. For example, you may pray something like this: Dear God, please accept my confession that I am a guilty sinner who deserves to spend eternity in Hell. But I know you love me and that you sent your only Son, Jesus, to die in my place for my sins, so I have no reason to doubt it. I believe that His blood atoned for my crimes and that He resurrected from the grave to save me from my sins.

Please provide me the gift of eternal life. I appreciate it very much. I accept it on the basis of faith. Make me a new person, and assist me in living the remainder of my life in your service. Thank you for loving me and rescuing me from certain death. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

If You Sincerely Prayed That Prayer…

According to God’s Word, you have been saved! The Bible says in Acts 2:21, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” It is possible that you will feel differently in the future, but real salvation will always result in a genuine and growing transformation. Every life into which Christ comes is transformed! 2 Corinthians 5:17 Consequently, if anybody believes in Christ, they are transformed into new creatures: old things have gone away, and behold, all things have been made new. How has Jesus changed your life?

It’s difficult to argue with someone’s own experience. Whether it’s something insignificant, such as how you felt while watching the Lions find a new way to lose, or something more major, such as the birth of a child, each moment of our life is a unique experience in itself. We must thus have a genuine testimony of how Jesus has changed our lives before we can go out and share the Gospel with others. We should be looking forward to the day when we can tell others about what Christ has done for us and how our connection with him makes all the difference in our lives.

1 As John says: “We declare to you what we have heard with our ears, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life – this life was revealed to us, and we have seen it and testified to it, and we declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father before the foundation of the world and has been revealed to us.” (1:1-2) Your conversion story is one-of-a-kind and impactful, even if it appears mundane in comparison to some of the more extreme conversion tales you may have heard.

• The anointing is not found in the drama, but rather in the genuine action of God in the world.
• Not only did we attend Mass as a family, but we also prayed together, and both of my parents lived their lives as followers of Christ.
• Despite this, baseball reigned supreme even in that setting.
• One day, when I was nine years old, my shoulder was excruciatingly painful after throwing in a Little League game.
• When I was younger, the doctor informed me that I would not be able to throw with my right arm until I reached adulthood.
• My aspirations to be a professional baseball player were dashed.
• There was nothing noteworthy that occurred.

It has been brought to my attention several times during my life that I am different than everyone else. But now, after five years, I can confidently state that I know the answer to that question, which is as follows: I pulled my Bible off the shelf, opened it up, and began reading it on a daily basis right away. See, here’s the truth: we all require the Savior. Given that some of you will not accept this fact, please continue scrolling (or quit reading if you are on my site) and continue reading.

You, like millions of other people, are perplexed as to “What is the purpose of life?” For a moment, let’s listen to Miley Cyrus’ “Nobody’s Perfect”: “Everyone makes mistakes, and everyone has those days.” “There is no such thing as an ideal person.” Okay, you’ve got the song stuck in your brain now, don’t you?

• Yes, she is correct.
• We are all born sinners, no matter who we are.
• As a result of the fall of Adam in Genesis 3, we are separated from God for all eternity via sinultimate death.
• Now, I’d want to tell you a bit about myself.
• It helped that I was raised in a household that loved the Lord, attended church regularly, and was actively involved in church activities many times a week.
• It had an irreversible impact on the path of our lives.
• However, as a result of this, it was not a traditional household life.

Despite the fact that I did not rebel or break from my religious beliefs, I now see that my upbringing had a spiritually detrimental effect on me as a young child.

I was a firm believer in the Bible and attended church every Sunday, but I now see that I was still living my life for myself, rather than totally for Jesus, as I had previously thought.

and it wasn’t until much later in life that I was able to completely let go of the reins and say to the Lord, “Yes, Lord.

For National Siblings Day, here’s a snapshot my brother gave me the other day in honor of the occasion: It wasn’t until roughly 2015 that this occurred.

not only on Sundays at church, but every day at home.

On the way to the airport, I was talking to him about God and he asked me some questions about Adam and Eve and sin, which I answered honestly.

I had always listened to, accepted, and trusted what the pastors had taught me, but did I truly KNOW, from first-hand experience, WHY I had believed what they had told me?

rather, God wished that we come to Him out of gratitude for what He had done for us.

As you can see, God created this universe out of LOVE for us.

Friends, He has provided a path for you!

To demonstrate this notion, all you have to do is look at a newborn who is just starting to walk.

They are motivated only by their own interests.

And no matter how much we strive to be perfect, to get it right, to work harder, to atone for our sins, we will never be perfect on our own; we will always fall short.

God is still looking for a way to have a right loving connection with us.

He still had a deep affection for all of humanity.

How do you mean, I hear you ask?

” For it is with the heart that one believes in righteousness, and it is with the lips that one confesses salvation.” There is no huge philosophy to learn here, no lengthy course to complete, and no existential crisis to confront.

It is not about what you accomplished, but rather about what He has done for you.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but rather to save the world through him.” In addition, about 2015, I became acquainted with a practice known as “Bible Journaling.” On Pinterest, I came across the first ever post where someone had taken all of their scrapbooking products and put them to use IN THEIR BIBLE!

1. I was really taken aback.
2. Because I viewed it as an opportunity to merge my love for Jesus with my passion for art and being creative, it moved me to tears.
3. Moreover, as I dug deeper into the Bible and gained a better understanding of God’s Word, the Holy Spirit began to come alive in my life in a way I had never experienced before.
4. Isn’t the Bible a remarkable work of literature?
5. And it had the ability to make a difference in people’s lives!
6. In order for us to understand that God’s immense love for us is still available, He provided you and me with this “map.” Right now, in this very moment.
7. That NO ONE would be able to tell that He cares for them.

I’m sure you have a Bible someplace in your house, and I’m not surprised.

Alternatively, you might begin with Genesis 1 and work your way through to the book of John in the New Testament, where Jesus is speaking to the people about why God sent Him to die on the cross to save us.

Our children are confronting the difficult problems of life.

What is the reason for your being here?

I want to tell you that YOU are here for SO MUCH MORE than you realize!

First and foremost, talk to the God who made you.

You were created to express God’s love with the world in unique and innovative ways that only YOU were capable of!

You only have to read Job 10:10-12, Psalm 139:13-16, or Ephesians 2:10 to realize the incredible LOVE that God has for you and me, and it began long before we were even born!

Ending with a narrative from Luke 19:38-40, when everyone is joyful at Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem on a colt, and while the people are singing “Blessed IS the King who comes in the name of the Lord,”the Pharisees intervene and tell everyone to quiet down.

Give this wonderful song by Hillsong United a listen for a few minutes: Perhaps you haven’t come to terms with the whole Jesus issue yet.

Perhaps the idea of having a connection with Jesus is completely strange to you.

He is present, even if you are not aware of it.

It is stated that the ROCKS will proclaim that He is LORD of the ROCKS.

An interview with Shane

Shane is in his final year of undergraduate studies at Aberystwyth University, where he is majoring in English and education. The opportunity to meet him and witness just a sliver of his journey has been a tremendous pleasure, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to ask him a few questions about how he came to trust in Jesus Christ while studying in this small coastal town.

Tell us about your background

Shane is a final-year undergraduate student at Aberystwyth University, where he is studying English and education. A true privilege has been meeting him and witnessing only a sliver of his journey, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to ask him a few questions about how he came to trust in Jesus Christ while studying in this small coastal town.

Why did you become interested in Christianity?

After attending the summer school, the same buddy who had introduced me to Christianity told me that I was on the verge of becoming a Christian during my second year of university. Despite the fact that I was unsure of why she said it, I reasoned that if I talked to someone about it, I would be able to figure out why she felt that way. She introduced me to a friend of hers, and I was free to ask him any and all of the things I had on my mind. He appeared to be somewhat different from the other folks I had met.

• He didn’t seem to be put off by my past, and he appeared to be understanding.
• It was at that point that I discovered that there is historical proof for everything written in the Bible and that it is not simply a collection of fiction conjured up out of thin air.
• My friends invited me to the Christmas carol service, which I attended.
• It was in that place that I first began to wrestle with sin and attempt to figure out what it actually meant for my own life.
• After Christmas, I began to examine Christianity with greater seriousness and determination.
• I was apprehensive about asking questions since I knew there would be a large number of Christians present at these events, but I attended nevertheless because I wanted to hear what the speakers had to say about their respective subjects.
• After realizing that Christianity provided an alternative way of thinking and life, I made a decision that same week.
• Upon seeing that my family worship was sinning against God, I realized that I needed to devote my time and attention to Jesus first.
• Following the events of the week and my conversion to Christianity, I continued to participate in Bible studies with a buddy and also attended a new believer’s Bible study hosted by the CU.

After reading what I considered to be God’s word, I was eager to learn more about my newly discovered religion and to see how it correlated with the Bible’s teachings on everyday life. I was eager to hear what the preachers had to say at church and to put those teachings into practice myself.

How has knowing Jesus changed your life?

I’ve been a Christian for 15 months now, and my perspective on life has shifted significantly. For a long time, I had dreams of dying and simply not existing. Before I encountered Jesus, I felt as though there was no point to my existence. And now I’m beginning to realize that there is still hope; I’m understanding why I was created the way I was, and I’m seeing that Jesus is in command of my life. I am confident in his ability to guide me and that I can place my confidence in him with my future.

Every day is packed with opportunities to learn something new about God via the study of the Bible and other writings.

And as I learn to do so, I’m also learning that there are answers to people’s questions, even if I don’t know the answers myself, there are Christian brothers and sisters around me who do know the answers.

I feel confidence in telling others about Jesus and how he has altered my life since I know I am not alone in my beliefs.

What’s next?

This summer, I will graduate and continue my education by pursuing a PGCE. Looking back, I had a plan when I first started university, albeit it wasn’t one that I was really fond of. I had planned to pursue a career in publishing. However, as I came to know Jesus, I began to pray for myself and my future. God began to guide my attention in the direction of teaching, and I discovered that I had a strong desire to pursue the career path he had chosen for me. I didn’t anticipate my future being altered in such a short period of time.

• The fact that God guided me to my friends and the CU’s activities is something I’m grateful for.
• I’ve met individuals who I hope will become lifelong friends, and I’ve met God, who has granted me everlasting life.
• It provides opportunity for others to come to know Christians in a non-threatening manner.
• As a result, I’ve gotten to know Jesus better.
• CU should keep reaching out to people, coming up with innovative ideas, and hosting events where people may hear the gospel.

Change. It is not always enjoyable. Some people (including myself) are resistant to change. Being a real Christian, on the other hand, necessitates transformation. The concept of “necessary change” is not widely accepted these days. There are many people who wish to profess Christianity without having to live a Christ-like lifestyle in order to be accepted. It’s not enough to just profess your faith or declare that you’re a Christian.

There has to be a shift in thinking. There should be proof in your life that you are a true disciple of Jesus Christ. You must undergo a transformation. The good news is that Jesus is engaged in the business of transformation.

1. Jesus transforms our minds.

Romans 12:2 makes it quite apparent that change is a requirement. And do not be conformed to this world, but be changed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may demonstrate what God’s good, acceptable, and perfect will is by your actions and words. Whether we like it or not, the environment in which we live has an impact on our ideas. The way we think is influenced by our cultural and social backgrounds. It is not necessarily a terrible thing to be affected by attitudes and society ‘norms,’ but it is possible to be influenced by attitudes and cultural ‘norms’ that have no place in a Christian’s life.

We’re complete strangers in this place.

In this state, we are unable to consider the things of this life or make judgments based on what is happening in the world around us.

When we follow Jesus, He transforms the way we think about things.

2. Jesus transforms our desires.

Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Most people are familiar with and cherish this verse. The desires of our hearts are something that we all want God to provide us. When we follow Jesus, on the other hand, He has a way of changing our hearts and minds. Somehow, the things we thought we desired have become uninteresting to us. The importance of material things diminishes. Recognition, rank, position, renown, and riches. all of these things are essentially meaningless in the context of the Kingdom of God and eternity.

And in Matthew 16:24-26, we read, “Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone chooses to follow Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.” In other words, whomever seeks to preserve his or her life will lose it, but whoever loses his or her life for My cause will find it.

In other words, what is a man willing to surrender in return for his soul?

3. Jesus transforms our relationships.

Have you ever noticed how much more drama there is in our relationships when we don’t have Jesus in them? It is Jesus who has the ability to alter the way we engage with people, whether they are family members or complete strangers. The Gospels include several directives from Jesus, including the mandate to love one another as He loves us. In Matthew 26:37-38, Jesus teaches us that loving our neighbor is the second great commandment, and that it is the most important one.

Last month, I wrote about what love looks like (Love Is.Part 1 and Part 2), and I said that it takes a significant amount of effort on our part in terms of how we treat others. Following Jesus means that there is less drama and a lot more grace and forgiveness in our lives.

4. Jesus transforms our purpose.

For those who follow Jesus, one of the most astonishing things is how the purpose of their lives is changed into something incredibly meaningful and worthwhile! We are no longer only working to make ends meet or to move up the social and economic ladder. We are no longer looking for our worth and purpose in voids or in the absence of meaningful relationships. Instead, we are aware that we have been called to be a part of something greater than ourselves. We are engaged in the work of His Kingdom.

We’re here to help others.

Following the teachings of Jesus in John 15:16, we have been commissioned to yield fruit that will last.

One of the most important verses in the Bible is 1 Peter 2:9: “But you are a chosen generation,” it says, “a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people,” which means that you have been chosen to sing the praises of the One who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Take this challenge, if you consider yourself a Christian: examine your ideas, desires, relationships, and life’s purpose with a critical eye.

The procedure may be a little unpleasant, but it is well worth it!

How Jesus Changed My Life

Growing up, I was baptized in the Lutheran church and attended services every Sunday as well as Sunday school and an evening youth activity program. It wasn’t until my father was diagnosed with non-lymphoma Hodgkin’s that I realized I was a Christian for the first time. I despised God for what he was doing since a dear friend of my father’s had gone away less than a year before his diagnosis. I couldn’t see anything positive. I was under the impression that Jesus had abandoned me, but upon reflection, it was actually I who had abandoned Him.

• I despised the agony I felt when I lost someone I cared about, so I trained myself not to love, and as a result, I was never content.
• I’m not sure I knew how far away I had gotten from God until now.
• I began my studies at Virginia Tech this past autumn as a cadet in the Corps of Cadets, and we are permitted to attend church on the first Sunday of each month during “New Cadet Week.” I had intended to skip the event, but by chance I wound up joining the group that was going.
• I was aware of the message, but I don’t recall exactly what it said.
• I was completely captivated by these individuals.
• I went for a few of Sundays, but there was no noticeable difference.
• I was aware of Jesus’ existence, but I had only previously considered God as a potential rescuer, never contemplating Jesus as such.

I began praying every day, and subsequently during the day as well.

Looking back, I see that God was preparing me for my grandmother’s death through the reading of these novels.

All of her grandkids and children gathered around her bed when all of the ropes and masks were removed because she was in such poor condition.

Jesus had entered the room at some point between the words “your Kingdom come” and “do not lead us into temptation,” and had taken her hand in his and brought her away.

I can’t describe it, and I don’t really comprehend it, but I believe she has gone to Heaven.

My decision to devote my life to Jesus and make Him a priority came as a result of that experience.

The rest of the semester was spent studying the Bible, participating in an Engage Group and huddle, and praying, as well as hanging on every word that was spoken at the service.

I burst out laughing, as I’d never laughed before in my life.

While having lunch with a friend, I was discussing my transformation to her, and she advised that I consider becoming baptized.

Coincidentally, I received an email from my Engage Group leader during this chat, in which she also stressed the importance of becoming baptized.

I spent a couple of days in prayer and consuming the Bible, with a particular emphasis on passages discussing baptism in the New Testament.

Becoming baptized would establish accountability within my church family, ensuring that I did not allow this opportunity to change slide away from me and that I was committed to serve Him with my life.

As Sarah and Candice held me under the water and plunged me to my death, I could see a large audience watching.

It was finished as quickly as it got started.

Despite the fact that it was just a brief minute, I had the distinct impression that the cold water shocking my lungs and heart was Jesus.

My Christian Testimony-How Jesus Changed My Life –

What I’m going to share with you is my own narrative of how I came to have a genuine relationship with the Almighty. Let me begin by expressing that the love and grace of Jesus have transformed my life, as you will see in the next paragraphs. However, luckily, this tragedy concluded with a testament of God’s unfailing love and unmerited kindness, rather than with my own self-destruction. You will see that what I had was a religious belief system, and that God gradually moved me into a true, genuine connection with Himself.

It’s time to take a seat, pour yourself a cup of coffee, and bask in the glory of God’s tremendous grace.

Story time

My grandmother used to take my sister and me to church with her when we were little. Whenever we gathered, she would join us in prayer and Bible reading. However, I never had a clear knowledge of the gospel or who Jesus was in the first place. As a youngster, I had the impression that my pastor was none other than Jesus. I went to church because I had to, despite the fact that I would have rather to stay in bed and sleep in. Looking back, I see that what I had was a religious belief system rather than a genuine spiritual relationship with God.

I went to church, I believed in God, and I was able to recite the Lord’s prayer, but that was the limit of my religious knowledge.

Highschool

Fast forward to the beginning of my freshman year, when my father passed suddenly from cancer. That night is still fresh in my mind. Taking off his breathing tube and seeing if he would make it was the only option available to us. I was 14 years old and had never before had the opportunity to witness death. As a result, in my immature mind, I assumed I’d see him again soon. That death didn’t seem to be that significant. But I had no idea that night would be a defining moment in my life, one that I would be wrestling with for years to come.

1. I simply desired to go out and socialize with my pals (specifically a boy that I liked.) I felt responsible for my father’s death.
2. I couldn’t bring myself to forgive myself for what I’d done.
3. I looked to anybody and everyone for comfort, including friends, boyfriends, and even girls.
4. I wished to be wanted and appreciated.
5. Once I had a sense of being loved and wanted by someone, I would move on to the next one.
6. My mother made the decision that we would relocate to Arizona when I was 16 years old.
7. That’s when things started to spiral even more downward than they already were.
8. When I first arrived in Arizona, I felt completely alone and began cutting and starving myself.
9. I had fallen into a pit of absolute darkness and self-hatred from which I didn’t believe I would ever be able to climb out.

I didn’t have much hope. All I wanted was to die, and I would come up with creative methods to do so whenever the opportunity presented itself. However, I was fortunate in that I never attempted anything.

Seeds planted and watered

In the summer after my graduation from high school, I was invited to attend a National Youth Gathering with the church where I grew up. That’s when I first learnt about Jesus’ true identity and the purpose for which He came to earth. I recall them asking us all to write down on a tiny piece of paper our biggest regret, something that we blame ourselves for, or a burden that we carry with us. I don’t remember what they asked us to write down. I jotted down all of the ways I felt responsible for my father’s death.

1. Every pile of paper was reduced to ashes and strewn at the foot of the cross, and you could see it happening.
2. That was something Jesus carried to the cross with Him.
3. However, after leaving this meeting, I returned to my wicked and self-hating habits.
4. However, the seed had been sown.
5. I went on a mission trip to Ecuador with the church where I grew up a little over a year after that.
6. Life is about giving back to people and accomplishing something that is worthwhile.
7. I was well aware that I required more of God in my life.

Then, God

When I returned to Arizona, I made up reasons for not attending church. I had a strong urge to go, but my body intervened and tried to prevent me from doing so. God, on the other hand, came to the rescue. As a result, I began attending church regularly, being engaged in a young adult bible study group, and giving back to the community. When I arrived at church on the first Sunday of the month, I immediately went to a bible study that same day and then to the young adults’ bible study two days later.

As a result of my anxiousness, travelling anyplace alone was just out of the question.

As soon as I began to make friends at bible study and began to go on a regular basis, I began to learn so much about Jesus and the Bible, and I was able to witness firsthand what true Christianity looked like.

Something about this group of individuals that I appreciated was that they had Jesus in them, which was a refreshing change from most other people. They lived their lives in the service of God, desiring to please Him in everything they accomplished.

Growth

My young adult’s pastor challenged me and answered all of my questions, and I gradually began to mature in my true connection with God. I began to incorporate prayer and Bible reading into my daily routine, not because I felt obligated to do so, but because I sincerely want to. And, as a result of spending meaningful time with God and other godly people, God has gradually been weeding out the sin in my life and transforming my thoughts over time. It didn’t happen overnight. It was a long and drawn-out process that God was patient with me through.

1. God does not need you to alter everything in your life before you may come to him.
2. We’ll sprint to him and then begin to change our clothes.
3. There were even times in my life when I would sit down and read my bible.
4. I didn’t look very far.

Now

Since I truly surrendered my life to Jesus in 2014, God has worked in my life to bring about profound transformation. In many ways, I am a completely different person from the one I was then. I spend my life completely in submission to God. Allow me to say that it is a wonderful surrender. How God can take a jumble of events and turn them into a symphony is truly amazing to behold. It’s not a perfect symphony, but it’s a good one. I still miss notes every now and then, and every now and then, I’ll even break a string of notes.

The thought of where I would be or who I would be if I didn’t open the door when Jesus came knocking on my door makes me dizzy just thinking about it.

The fact that God loves people so much that He would send His Son to die as the ultimate sacrifice for us ensures that we will spend eternity with Him is something I will be eternally grateful for.

“He who believes in Him is NOT CONDEMNED; but he who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the Name of the only born Son of God.” “He who believes in Him is NOT CONDEMNED.” John 3:16-18 is a passage from the Bible.

It was through His stripes that you were healed.

Please, God, don’t let this happen.

I don’t want to sabotage God’s grace, for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain,” says the apostle Paul.

It was then that they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou and thy household shalt be SAVED.” Acts 16:30-31 is a biblical passage.
