After reading an article in the UK Times headlined, “As an Atheist, I honestly feel Africa Needs God,” I decided to write about it. Matthew Parris, a self-described atheist and writer, was the author of the piece. The author writes in the essay that “Christianity alters people’s hearts in Africa.” It has the potential to bring about a spiritual metamorphosis. The rebirth has taken place. “It’s a positive change.” Parris’ beliefs regarding the transformative effect of our faith are influenced in part by his observations of the outstanding character of Christian African professionals in the workplace.

For another way of saying it, when we allow Jesus to mold our worldview, it helps us to be more effective witnesses in a culture that does not know him.

It is through our acknowledgement of Christ as Lord that we are able to submit to his rule and teaching.

Here’s how he goes about it.

The Person of Christ

The Father and the Son have a unique connection, which is shown in all of the Gospels. In his role as the Son, Christ submits to and is subject to the Father (John 6:38). It is possible for us to emulate Jesus’ surrender to the Father since it resulted in something wonderful: our redemption. Jesus instructs us to follow his example of submission and service in order to live a life that is meaningful (John 13:16-17). This example, along with lessons on submitting, calls into question our current worldview, which emphasizes grabbing for power in all areas of life.

When we see Jesus’ self-sacrificing behavior, it changes our perspective and calls into question our current worldview of grabbing for power.

Our Identity in Christ

In other words, we are set free from sin and are made slaves to virtue as a result of our conversion (Romans 6:18). When we accept Christ as our Savior, we are adopted as God’s children. This new identity will have an impact on our perspective and daily life. Our newfound identity in Christ has an impact on the way we approach all challenges and relationships. God’s grace has changed our perspective on sin and evil as a result of our new spiritual reality of being forgiven of all our sins.

Meeting Jesus had a profound impact on his understanding of sin and ultimately led to his repentance (Luke 19:8).

He also demonstrates his dominance over tyrannical spirits when he cures individuals who have been afflicted by demonic influences. Because of Christ’s victorious triumph over oppressive spiritual powers now and in the future, anybody who has been afflicted by dread of these forces is released.

The Work of Christ

Christ’s selfless death on the cross sends a powerful message of love to all of humanity. Through his suffering and death on the cross, Christ emphasizes the importance of putting the interests of others ahead of one’s own. This concept is more important than ever in today’s world, since self-centeredness is widely pushed through social and mass media platforms. On top of that, while on the cross, Jesus prays for his adversaries, saying “Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34).

This new outlook allows us to be at peace with individuals we might otherwise despise—and sometimes for good reason.

The Teachings of Christ

When it comes to shaping our worldview, one of the most obvious ways that Jesus does so is through his teachings. When we put our faith in Christ, our expectations of life are transformed. Some Christians believe that when we become Christians, we should expect to live a comfortable life on this planet. However, while Jesus is still on the earth, he instructs us to expect persecution and suffering for the sake of his name (Matthew 5:10-12). Jesus also molds our worldview via his teachings on relationships (Matthew 5:43-48), prayer and fasting (Matthew 6:5-18), as well as money and riches (Matthew 6:5-18) and other topics (Matthew 6:19-24).

We see that Jesus’ teachings are not only about morality; rather, he instructs us on how to approach following him in the proper manner.

Jesus and the Enduring Ministry of the Holy Spirit

We are able to react to God in obedience because of the presence of Christ in us, which is made possible by the Holy Spirit (John 15:5).

This should lead to a culture of critical thinking about our worldview, which will enable us to live in joyful obedience to Christ.

Submitting to Jesus Shapes our Worldview

Restoration

Christian rehabilitation is the process of returning to one’s divinity and one’s ideal connection with God (Cooling, 2010). As stated in the Christian worldview, the resolution of human issues may be found in the processes of redemption, reconciliation, renewal, and restoration (DiVincenzo, 2014). Eternal redemption is only available to those who repent of their wrongdoings and embrace Christ as their personal Savior. Reflection

I will now speak briefly about how I live out my Christian worldview ideas in my everyday life. Because I am a Christian believer and a born-again believer, I behave in line with the consummate fruits of the Holy Spirit that Jesus exhorted his disciples to observe, as seen by my actions.
