Why Is Jesus Christ Important?

Why Is Jesus Christ Important in My Life?

  1. ″What is the significance of Jesus Christ in my life?″ 10–13 (New Era, January 2015).
  2. It wasn’t long ago that I saw a blog article in which the author discussed how the Savior plays a crucial part in her everyday life.
  3. I was relieved that she was ready to share her sentiments, but I was disturbed by one reader’s response: ″He has never been or will ever be of any significance in my life—never has been and will never be.″ That reader couldn’t be more incorrect in his or her assumptions.
  4. We will all require the Savior at some point in our lives.
  5. We all make errors that we can’t undo, suffer losses that we can’t recoup, and endure pains, persecution, tragedies, burdens, and disappointments that we can’t bear on our own, but we can work together to overcome them.
  • The good news is that we don’t have to deal with them on our own anymore.
  • It is possible to say in a moment of weakness that no one understands what it is like.″ ‘No one seems to get it.’ Elder David A.
  • Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles remarked, ″But the Son of God totally understands and knows what we are going through because He has suffered and borne our specific afflictions.″ As Alma 34:14 explains, ″And because of His unlimited and eternal sacrifice (see Alma 34:14), He has perfect empathy and is able to extend His arm of mercy to us.″ 1 Our trust in Jesus is crucial to us because, through His Atonement and teachings, as well as His hope, peace, and example, He aids us in making changes in our lives, overcoming hardships, and moving ahead with confidence on our path back to Him and His Father.

Jesus Makes Repentance Possible

  1. Because we all fall short of God’s expectations and require the gift of repentance provided by the Atonement, Jesus is extremely vital to all who truly want to follow Him.
  2. Whenever we make a mistake or fall, Satan wants us to believe that we are not capable of getting back up and continuing on our way.
  3. Aside from that, he wants us to forget that the Gospel is also known as ″the gospel of repentance″ (D&C 13:1; emphasis added).
  4. Despite this, we are confident that ″the mercy of Christ is genuine, and that it provides both forgiveness and purification to the penitent sinner.″ 2 The power of Jesus Christ’s Atonement is available to everyone of us; however, we must make the decision to let it to be put to use in our lives.
  5. Consider presenting a particular gift to a buddy—a gift that your acquaintance truly needs and that you prepared through personal sacrifice on his or her behalf.
  • Now imagine your friend answering, ″Thank you, but I’m not particularly interested in your present,″ or anything along those lines.
  • What would your reaction be?
  • The fact that we don’t invite Jesus to assist us in being clean via repentance is the same as rejecting His gift of salvation.

Jesus Teaches Truth

  • Jesus asked the Twelve Apostles, ″Will ye also go away?″ on one occasion when a number of individuals declined to continue walking with Him for any extended period of time. ″Lord, where will we go from here?″ Peter inquired. It says in John 6:67–68, ″Thou hast the words of eternal life.″ The scriptures, the teachings of living prophets, and the whisperings of the Holy Ghost are all places where you might find the Savior’s ″words of eternal life.″ It is through them that we can achieve ″pleasure in this life and everlasting life in the world to come,″3 and it is through them that we can return safely to our Heavenly Father and Savior. What are some of the most important truths that the Savior imparted? The following are the four that President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Second Counselor in the First Presidency, mentioned in a recent general conference speech: We will have gorgeous, perfect, and eternal bodies, unburdened by disease or incapacity.″
  • ″Our tears of anguish and loss will be replaced with an abundance of gladness and joy.″
  • ″Through the Atonement., we will be able to live forever with our loved ones.″

Jesus Offers Hope

  1. When we are confronted with significant difficulties, it might be difficult to place our confidence in the Lord.
  2. However, placing our faith in Him provides us with the hope we require in order to tackle our obstacles.
  3. The same thing happened to members of the Gatrell family, who reside in Sister Jean A.
  4. Stevens’ ward and were targeted by the authorities.
  5. Brother Gatrell was diagnosed with cancer, according to Sister Stevens, the first counselor in the Primary general presidency.
  • Sister Stevens said the family remained steadfast in the gospel and their temple commitments when Brother Gatrell was diagnosed.
  • They gained confidence in God’s promises that they will be reunited after this life as a result of their actions.
  • As she reflected on the tough days leading up to her husband’s death, Sister Gatrell shared her belief that ″the Lord was looking over us.″ ″If you put your confidence in the Lord, you will be able to conquer any of life’s difficulties.″ 5 The gift of the Atonement provides us with the promise of everlasting life, which we need need while we are going through difficult times or grieving the death of a loved one.
  • First Counselor in the First Presidency President Henry B.
  1. Eyring stated that ″our loving Heavenly Father gave us the gift of His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, as our Savior.″ All who are born are given a worldwide heritage through the tremendous gift and benefit of Jesus Christ’s Atonement.
  2. This inheritance includes the promise of Resurrection and the potential of eternal life.
  3. 6

Jesus Offers Peace

  • Anyone who has dealt with a natural catastrophe, been the target of malicious gossip, faced a life-changing crisis, had a falling-out with a friend, or stood up for what’s right knows what it’s like to be in desperate need of the Lord’s comfort. As Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles put it, ″the peace of Christ subdues the spinning whirlwinds of this world.″ 7 During a recent general conference, Elder Andersen presented a story of a Laurel who was mocked and called names because she spoke up for conventional marriage and refused to be silenced. She discovered that being ″faithful to God and to the teachings of His living prophets″ might occasionally result in ridicule, which she accepted as a price. 8 However, standing up does not imply that one is alone. When we are feeling alone or overwhelmed, when we are sad or anxious, when we are terrified or when we feel useless, we may always turn to the Prince of Peace. We accomplish this by: praying to Heavenly Father for the presence of the Spirit
  • reading the Lord’s words in the scriptures and as revealed by living prophets
  • attending temple services
  • studying the Savior’s life at church and in seminary
  • applying His Atonement by repenting of our sins
  • sharing our testimonies of Him
  • and attending temple services.
  1. There is no need for our hearts to be concerned or scared while we are experiencing the Savior’s peace (see John 14:26–27).
  2. ″Only the Master understands the depths of our trials, our grief, and our suffering,″ President Thomas S.
  3. Monson has remarked of his faith.
  4. ″He is the only one who can provide us with eternal peace in times of adversity.
  5. He is the only one who can soothe our tortured souls with His soothing words.″ 9

Jesus Sets the Example

  1. Throughout His mission, Jesus does more than merely show the road to happiness; He actually takes the initiative and walks the path himself.
  2. He guides us to love as a result of His Atonement.
  3. He guides us to everlasting truths via the teachings of Jesus.
  4. He directs us to the road of obedience by the example of His flawless life.
  5. ″Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is the greatest example to have ever walked the face of the world.
  • The teaching, helping, and loving people that he did throughout his mortal ministry, according to Elder Richard G.
  • Scott of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, were the highlights of his mortal ministry.
  • He went on to say that the Savior ″invite[s] us to follow His flawless example.″ 10 When we realize that the Savior makes repentance and resurrection possible, that He teaches essential truths, that He brings hope and peace, and that He sets the ideal example, He becomes the focal point of our life.
  • And, with Him as our friend, we have the confidence to throw away fear and move on in trust as we face the future.

Why The Deity Of Jesus Christ Is So Important

  1. The notion of the trinity is considered to be one of the most essential teachings in the Bible.
  2. This term ″trinity″ simply means ″three in one,″ and it is taken from 1 John 5:7 to express this.
  3. According to the Scriptures, ″There are three who keep a record in heaven: the Father, the Word (which is Jesus Christ), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.″ (See 1 John 5:7) These three do not combine to form three distinct gods, but rather combine to form one God.
  4. In the same way as the body, the soul, and the spirit combine to form one human being, the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit combine to form one God.
  5. Because they are unable to comprehend the Bible, heretics and unbelievers frequently criticize this idea as being false.
  • Such individuals are particularly hostile to the belief that Jesus Christ is God.
  • To that end, below are some of the most compelling arguments in support of Jesus Christ’s divine nature.
  • Paul Is Warned That There Is Another Jesus In 2 Corinthians, Paul warned the church about false prophets who would preach a different Jesus than the one they already knew.
  • The apostle Paul says, ″For even if someone comes preaching another Jesus, whom we have not taught, or if you get another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye may as well endure with him.″ 2 Corinthians 11:4 (New International Version).
  1. The thought that Jesus is not God is essentially a belief in a different Jesus from the one who is correct.
  2. The fact that Christ is God is essential to understanding his character.
  3. To deny that Jesus Christ is God is to demean and degrade the person he is and what he has accomplished.
  4. Religions such as the Jehovah’s witnesses, for example, can not comprehend the whole majesty of Jesus since they do not think he is God.
  5. The Mormons, on the other hand, denigrate Christ because they think that he had an origin story.
  6. The Bible states that Jesus Christ was with God at the beginning of time (John 1:1), yet it never states that Jesus Christ had a starting point in time.
  1. According to the Bible, Jesus is God, and as such, has existed from the beginning of time.
  2. The Evidence of the Trinity An other reason why this theory is so essential is that it is explicitly taught in the Bible.
  3. Because Jesus is God, the way we see him has a direct impact on our perception of God.
  4. That being said, there are a plethora of Biblical texts that support the doctrine of the trinity.

Here are a few illustrations.

  1. When Jesus is present, God is present as well. A virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, who will be named Emmanuel, which means ″God with us″ in the Hebrew language. The Bible states that Jesus is equal to God and that he exists in the form of God (Matthew 1:23). ″Always keep in mind that the mentality of Christ Jesus was in you, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it theft to be on an equal footing with God:″ The God and Savior of the world is Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:5-6). ″Awaiting the heavenly hope, as well as the magnificent advent of the almighty God and our Saviour Jesus Christ,″ the hymn continues. Paul writes in Titus 2:13 that the Father refers to Jesus as ″God.″ For the Son, he says, ″Thou art the King for ever and ever
  2. a sceptre of justice is the Sceptre of thy reign,″ which means, ″Thou art God for ever and ever.″ God Almighty (Hebrews 1:8)
  3. Jesus is the All-Powerful God. ‘For unto us a child is born, and unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon him shoulder, and his name shall be Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.’ (Isaiah 9:6)
  4. Jesus is the I AM (I am who I am). I am the one who existed before Abraham was born,″ Jesus said to his disciples. ″Verily I say vnto you, before Abraham was born, I am.″ (See also John 8:58.)

Jesus is the Son of God. God was the one who died on the cross in our place. God was the one who took the punishment for our transgressions. That we can be rescued came about because of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What a beautiful Savior we have in Jesus Christ.

Why Is Jesus Important To Christians?

  1. The 18th of September, 2010,, Please leave a remark.
  2. What is the significance of Jesus to Christians?
  3. Jesus is the absolute embodiment of the Christian faith.
  4. Everyone has been cleaned and their sins have been forgiven as a result of his sacrifice.
  5. Being a Christian is synonymous with being a follower of Christ.
  • In Christianity, Christ is referred to as the Son of God, who was sent by the Father to atone for the sins of the entire world.
  • God revealed his knowledge to us via Christ, and he provided us with a chance to preserve our mortal souls.
  • He is sometimes referred to as the messiah, a god who appears in human form.
  • His teachings had reached a large number of people, and many people had been reconciled with God as a result of his teachings.
  1. Many people have lost sight of the fact that God just desires what is best for us.
  2. We only turn to God when our lives are in turmoil, and we ignore him when we are having fun or are at a comfortable place in our life.
  3. Jesus Christ spent his life in the same way as any regular man would have lived his life.
  4. A human lady (Mary) gave birth to him and he was born with the emotions of humans in his veins.
  5. These human emotions might have had a significant impact on his efforts to save others and assist them in becoming closer to God.
  6. Love is the most powerful emotion that a human being is capable of experiencing at any one time.
  1. If love is the greatest present of all, then Jesus is the greatest gift that God has ever given to mankind.
  2. His life, death, and resurrection have all had a significant impact on our beliefs, and he continues to assist us in our quest to return to God.
  3. His followers propagated his ideas throughout the rest of their lives, and it was through them that Christianity became a religion.
  4. When it comes to religion, Christianity is by far the most well-known and widely practiced, not to mention the most numerous.

Questions to Ponder before You Teach

  1. What is it about Jesus Christ that is so important to you?
  2. What role has He had in your life?
  3. What is it about understanding Jesus Christ’s roles that is so important for young men?
  4. What can you do to assist them in realizing the significance of Jesus in their lives?
  5. What can the young guys do to prepare for their upcoming education?
  • To illustrate this, they could listen to a talk, watch a video, or read a scripture that is related to this doctrine.

Meeting Outline

1. Counsel Together and Share Experiences

  • Approximately 5–10 minutes in length, led by a member of the quorum presidency. Organize a debate about topics such as the ones listed below: Our quorum is as follows: Who is not present today? What kind of visits do we have to make? In order to organize a future activity, we need to know who to invite. Who is in need of our assistance and prayers?
  • Our responsibilities are as follows: What kind of assignments do we have to complete? What responsibilities have we completed thus far? What has been our strategy for inviting others to follow Jesus? What strategies can we use to invite people now?
  • Our daily routines: Remind the quorum of the debate that took place at the last meeting. What kind of experiences have we had with putting what we’ve learnt into practice? Were there any encounters we experienced in the last few weeks that helped us to build our testimony about the gospel?

If at all feasible, have a quorum presidency meeting to discuss these topics in advance.

2. Learn Together

  • Approximately 25–35 minutes in length, led by a leader or instructor or a member of the quorum Following your study of the resources listed above and following the promptings of the Spirit, you may choose one or more of the exercises listed below to assist quorum members in understanding the doctrine. While listening to Sister Jean B. Bingham’s presentation, ″That Your Pleasure Might Be Full,″ the young men will have a better understanding of how to find joy in the midst of life’s trials as they follow Jesus Christ. For example, drawing a trail on the board going to the word joy might be a useful method to explain her message. During this time, ask the young men to write on the route suggestions from Sister Bingham’s message that will bring them to real happiness. Encourage the young men to think about how they might put Sister Bingham’s advice into action and to tell others about how Jesus has brought joy into their lives.
  • Invite a few ward members to come to class ahead of time and share a personal experience that led them to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Division into four groups and assignment of one segment of Elder David A. Bednar’s discourse ″If Ye Had Known Me″ to each group is the order of the day. Toss these questions out to each group and have them hunt for answers in their section: The distinction between knowing about Christ and actually knowing Christ is what I’m getting at. What can we do to get to know Christ more fully? Would you be willing to offer any advice with those who are looking to deepen their connection with the Lord Jesus Christ?
  • When you interview young males, ask them about the most important day in their lives thus far. What happened throughout history? Invite them to learn about the most significant day in the world according to Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf’s message ″Behold the Man!″ and to discuss why he believed this to be the most important day in the world. Assist members of the quorum in their search for the blessings that Elder Uchtdorf promised to those who ″behold″ Jesus Christ. What did they take away from the discussion, and what are they personally doing to make the Savior a more essential part of their everyday life, is something they should share. As part of this conversation, you may also urge the young men to create a goal for themselves, such as using one of the recommendations covered in class to get closer to Jesus.
  • Ask some of the young men to look up what Jesus Christ did for us in 2 Nephi 2:3–9, and then ask the others to look up what would have happened if He had not completed His mission in 2 Nephi 9:6–10. What would be the impact on the world? Share your devotion to the Savior with the young men, and encourage them to do the same. To complement this exercise, you may also show the film ″Why We Need a Savior—A Christmas Message about Our Savior Jesus Christ″ to the participants. ASaviorIsBorn.”
  • Play the video ″Reclaimed″ to demonstrate your point. Which aspects of what Jesus Christ can achieve for them do the young men gain an understanding of from the video? How may they employ the message of this movie to assist those who are having difficulties forgiving themselves or who believe they are beyond of reach of the Savior’s mercy? What texts would they like to share with us? Isaiah 1:18 and Alma 36:3, 27 and Ether 12:27, for example, and Doctrine and Covenants 58:42–43 are examples of such passages.
  • In front of a picture of the Savior, ask the students to write the following questions on a board: What is the identity of Jesus Christ? What has He done to make our lives better? What evidence do we have that He is still alive today? Specify that the young men should use one of the sites listed below in order to get answers to these questions: In the hymnbook, look for ″Jesus Christ—Savior″ in the Topics index to learn what Jesus Christ has done for them. Also look for ″The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles″ in the Topical Guide or ″Jesus Christ″ in the Topical Guide. Inviting them to share their findings is a good idea. Invite a handful of them to share their testimonies of Jesus Christ and how they came to have them. What impact do their personal testimony of Jesus Christ have on their day-to-day lives? Additionally, the film ″Hallelujah—An Easter Message about Jesus Christ″ might be shown.

3. Plan to Act

  • Approximately 5–10 minutes in length, led by a member of the quorum presidency. Inquire with the young guys about any sentiments or impressions they may have had throughout the meeting. What did they consider to be significant? Does anybody know of anything they can do, either individually or as a group, to put what they have learnt into practice?
  • Allow the young guys a few minutes to write down what they want to do in the following weeks to follow through on their perceptions of the situation. Inviting them to share their thoughts is a good idea.
  • Remember to remind the young guys that they will have the opportunity to discuss their personal experiences at the start of the next meeting.

Why is the resurrection of Jesus Christ important?

  1. Answer to the question There are several reasons why the resurrection of Jesus is significant.
  2. In the first place, the resurrection serves as a testament to the great power of God Himself.
  3. Believing in the resurrection is the same as believing in God.
  4. The existence of God, and the fact that He created the universe and has authority over it, implies that He has the ability to revive the dead.
  5. If He does not possess such authority, He is not deserving of our faith and reverence.
  • According to 1 Corinthians 15:54–55, only He who created life has the power to raise it after death, only He has the power to reverse the hideousness that is death itself, and only He has the power to remove its sting and win the triumph over the grave.
  • God’s action in raising Jesus from the dead serves as a reminder to us of His absolute authority over life and death.
  • The resurrection of Jesus Christ is particularly significant because it supports Jesus’ claims to be the Son of God and the Messiah, which he made throughout his lifetime.
  • According to Jesus, His resurrection served as a ″sign from heaven″ that confirmed the legitimacy of His mission (Matthew 16:1–4).
  1. The resurrection of Jesus Christ, which was witnessed by hundreds of eyewitnesses (1 Corinthians 15:3–8), provides unmistakable evidence that He is the Savior of the world and that He is the Son of God.
  2. An other argument for the significance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is that it demonstrates His spotless character as well as His divine nature.
  3. Throughout the Scriptures, it is said that God’s ″Holy One″ would never be corrupted (Psalm 16:10), and Jesus was never corrupted, even after His death (see Acts 13:32–37).
  4. The resurrection of Christ served as the foundation for Paul’s sermon, which stated, ″Through Jesus, the remission of sins has been declared to you.″ Acts 13:38–39 states that ″through him, everyone who believes is set free from every sin.″ The resurrection of Jesus Christ not only serves as the ultimate confirmation of His deity, but it also serves as a confirmation of the Old Testament prophesies that promised Jesus’ suffering and resurrection (see Acts 17:2–3 for further information).
  5. Furthermore, Christ’s resurrection confirmed His own statements, which were that He would be risen on the third day (Mark 8:31; 9:31; 10:34).
  6. If Jesus Christ is not raised from the dead, we have no reason to believe that we shall be as well.
  1. In truth, we have no Savior, no salvation, and no hope of everlasting life unless and until Christ is raised from the dead through the power of the Holy Spirit.
  2. For, as Paul put it, our faith would be ″useless,″ the gospel would be completely ineffective, and our sins would remain unforgivable (Romans 1:18–19).
  3. ″I am the resurrection and the life,″ Jesus declared in John 11:25, claiming to be the originator of both the resurrection and the life.
  4. There is no resurrection apart from Christ, and there is no eternal life away from Christ.

Jesus does more than just offer life; He is life itself, and as a result, death has no power over Him or over His followers. When we put our confidence in Jesus, He gives us the gift of His life, allowing us to share in His victory over death (1 John 5:11–12).We who believe in Jesus Christ will personally experience resurrection because, through the life Jesus provides, we have triumphed over death and are no longer bound by it.According to 1 Corinthians 15:53–57, death has no chance of winning. In the New Testament, Jesus is referred to be ″the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep″ (1 Corinthians 15:20).

In other words, Jesus paved the door for anyone who wished to continue living beyond death.According to the Christian faith, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is significant because it serves as a witness to the resurrection of human people, which is a fundamental belief. In contrast to other religions, Christianity has a Founder who has transcended death and has promised that His followers would do the same in the future.Every other religion was formed by men or prophets, and their ultimate destination was the tomb.As Christians, we understand that God took in human form, died for our sins, and was raised from the dead on the third day.The grave was unable to contain Him.

  • He is alive and well, and He is currently seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven (Hebrews 10:12).
  • The Word of God promises the resurrection of the believer at the second coming of Jesus Christ for His church, which occurs during the rapture.
  • As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:55, ″Where, O death, is your victory?″ such certainty culminates in a magnificent hymn of triumph.
  • ″Where has your sting gone, O Death?″ (See Hosea 13:14 for further information.) Because of the significance of Christ’s resurrection, it has an influence on our current service to the Lord.
  • ″Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, maintain your resolve.″ Paul concludes his lecture on the resurrection with these words: Nothing should be able to move you.
  • You should always give your all to the Lord’s work because you know that your toil in the Lord will not be in vain″ (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Because we know we shall be raised to new life in Christ, we can bear persecution and danger for the sake of Christ (verses 30–32), just as our Lord was willing to do.Because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, multitudes of Christian martyrs throughout history have gladly given up their earthly lives in exchange for everlasting life and the prospect of a future resurrection. The resurrection of Jesus Christ, according to the Scriptures, is the triumphant and magnificent victory for every believer.According to the Scriptures, Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose on the third day.And He is on His way again!According to 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18, the dead in Christ will be raised up, and those who are alive at the time of His return will be transformed and given new, glorified bodies.

  1. Consequently, based on what Jesus said about himself, you and I have a decision to make.
  2. Jesus is either a delusional individual who believed He was God, or He is a liar who realized He wasn’t God but continued to tell His followers that He was, or Jesus is correct and He is the Son of God.
  3. Those are the possibilities available to us.
  4. It’s a shame, but the claims of Jesus that He is God cannot be taken as wise instruction from some form of prophet or moral leader since, if Jesus is not God as claimed, He would be a terrible prophet, as their vocation is to proclaim the truth.
  5. In any case, if He is not God, he cannot possibly be a competent moral instructor.
  6. What sort of moral instructor makes up stories about being God and forces thousands of people to put their lives in danger on His behalf for something that isn’t even true?
  1. Jesus was either insane, a liar, or He was and is the Son of God.
  2. As a result of His ability to provide eyewitnesses to His miracles, I think that Jesus is precisely who He claimed to be in all of His assertions.
  3. Now, if Jesus is who He claims to be, that makes Him a pretty significant figure in the world.
  4. As a result, one of the reasons why Jesus is significant is as follows: Jesus is the Son of God.

Second, Jesus is the only way to spend eternity with God in the hereafter. You and I are both broken, and we live in a broken world that is broken as well. The world does not function as it should.Although we strive to be nice people and do good things, we will never be able to achieve perfection. That’s because we have a natural propensity to do things that are contrary to God’s will.

We are shattered, and the system is shattered as well. The Bible confirms what we already know to be true: we are shattered (Romans 3:23).If you are in any question about whether or not you are broken, speak with your previous roommate. We can’t have a connection with God because our brokenness is incompatible with God’s perfection, according to the Bible, which also states that God is flawless. We are fortunate that God does not abandon us in our brokenness. We were damaged and our relationship with God was shattered, so God sent Jesus to mend our brokenness and broken relationship with God (John 3:16).

  • Jesus’ entire humanity was added to His Godhead as a result of His earthly ministry.
  • He lived a flawless life, and by His death on the cross as our substitution, He provided for the forgiveness of our sins, and then through His resurrection from the dead, He provided for the restoration of all things.
  • Jesus is the one who mends our brokenness.
  • Our Lord Jesus Christ was without flaw, and His death atoned for our sins, allowing us to have communion with God in a personal connection that will remain eternally (Romans 5:6-8).
  • When we embrace and trust this truth, we are cured by Jesus, and we may be assured that we will have an eternal life with God (Romans 10:9).
  • The only way to spend eternity with God is via Jesus Christ; there is no other option.

(See also John 14:6).Because Jesus has risen from the dead, He assures us that we, too, shall be raised from the grave (1 Corinthians 15:22).You should consider Jesus to be more essential as a result of this.I don’t give much thought to what will happen to me once I die.I’ll be honest with you: I’m just stressed out from all of the things that have happened this week.In terms of the future, the furthest I can see is, perhaps, 5 years out.

However, if there is a hereafter and there is only one way to spend it with God, it is possible that you and I should be thinking more critically about the afterlife as a result. There is an afterlife and there is only one way to go there, and that one route is through Jesus Christ, which means that Jesus is significant, and He is significant to you.

Prepare Yourself Spiritually

  1. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, was selected by the Father.
  2. His Atonement makes it possible for us to be resurrected, as well as for us to repent and be pardoned, allowing us to return to the presence of our heavenly Father.
  3. In addition to redeeming us from our sins, Jesus Christ, our Savior, provides us with serenity and strength while we are going through a difficult moment.
  4. Him and His teachings serve as the foundation for happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come, since he is our ideal example in every way.

Questions to Ponder before You Teach

  1. Consider some of your favorite scripture passages regarding the Savior, as well as your own personal witness of His saving power.
  2. How did you first become acquainted with Him?
  3. What experiences have you had that have made you thankful for Jesus Christ and His atoning work?
  4. What kind of blessing could a more powerful testimony of Jesus Christ have on the young women?
  5. What actions may they take to place a greater reliance on the Savior’s teachings and Atonement?
  • What can young ladies do to prepare themselves for school?
  • To illustrate this, they may listen to a presentation, view a video, or read a scripture that is connected to this belief.

Meeting Outline

1. Counsel Together and Share Experiences

  • Approximately 5–10 minutes in length, led by a member of the class president. Organize a debate about topics such as the ones listed below: Our class: Is there anyone who isn’t here today? What kind of visits do we have to make? In order to organize a future activity, we need to know who to invite. Who is in need of our assistance and prayers?
  • Our responsibilities are as follows: What kind of assignments do we have to complete? What responsibilities have we completed thus far? What has been our strategy for inviting others to follow Jesus? What strategies can we use to invite people now?
  • Our daily routines: Remind the students of the conversation that took place at the last meeting. What kind of experiences have we had with putting what we’ve learnt into practice? Were there any encounters we experienced in the last few weeks that helped us to build our testimony about the gospel?

If at all feasible, have a class presidency meeting to address these issues in advance.

2. Learn Together

  • Approximately 25–35 minutes in length, led by a leader or instructor, or a member of the class Following your study of the materials listed above and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you may choose one or more of the activities listed below to assist your class members in understanding the doctrine. ″That Your Joy Might Be Full,″ a presentation given by Sister Jean B. Bingham, might assist the young ladies learn how to find joy despite the trials of life as they grow to know and love Jesus Christ. For example, drawing a trail on the board going to the word joy might be a useful method to explain her message. Inviting the young ladies to write on the route recommendations from Sister Bingham’s message that lead to real joy will help them to grow in confidence. Encourage the young ladies to think about how they can put Sister Bingham’s advice into action and to tell others about how Jesus has brought joy into their lives.
  • Invite a few ward members to come to class ahead of time and share a personal experience that led them to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Division into four groups and assignment of one segment of Elder David A. Bednar’s discourse ″If Ye Had Known Me″ to each group is the goal of this activity.
  • When you interview the young ladies, ask them about the most memorable day of their lives. What happened throughout history? Invite them to learn about the most significant day in the world according to Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf’s message ″Behold the Man!″ and to discuss why he believed this to be the most important day in the world. Encourage class members to search for the blessings that Elder Uchtdorf promised to those who ″behold″ Jesus Christ, as he stated in his sermon. What did they take away from the discussion, and what are they personally doing to make the Savior a more essential part of their everyday life, is something they should share. As part of this conversation, you might also urge the young ladies to make a goal for themselves to apply one of the recommendations covered in class to grow closer to Jesus.
  • Place a picture of the Savior on the wall. Make a list of the questions and write them on the board: What is the identity of Jesus Christ? What has He done to make our lives better? What evidence do we have that He is still alive today? Identify one of the resources listed below and instruct the young ladies to use it to discover answers to these questions: It is possible to choose a song that explains what Jesus Christ has done for them (see ″Jesus Christ—Savior″ in the Topical Guide’s catalogue of Hymns) or to read ″The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles″ in the Topical Guide. Inviting them to share their findings is a good idea. Invite a handful of them to share their testimonies of Jesus Christ and how they came to have them. What impact do their testimony have on their day-to-day lives? Show the video ″Hallelujah—An Easter Message about Jesus Christ,″ which is available on YouTube.
  • Testimonies of Jesus Christ given by members of the First Presidency in the most recent conference edition of The Ensign or Liahona are displayed on the walls of the temple (these testimonies often appear at the end of the talks). Alternatively, show the young ladies the film ″Apostle Testimony Montage″ or have them read the testimonials. Inquire as to how they feel when they hear or read the testimony of the Savior’s special witnesses for the first time. Inquire about how their Christian beliefs influence their day-to-day activities.
  • Allow opportunity for class participants to share their devotion to and witness about Jesus Christ.
  • Play the video ″Reclaimed″ to demonstrate your point. What do the young ladies take away from the film in terms of what Jesus Christ can accomplish for them and their lives? How may they employ the message of this movie to assist those who are having difficulties forgiving themselves or who believe they are beyond of reach of the Savior’s mercy? What texts would they like to share with us? Examples include Isaiah 1:18
  • Alma 36:3, 27
  • Ether 12:27
  • Doctrine and Covenants 58:42–43
  • and other passages.

3. Plan to Act

  • Approximately 5–10 minutes in length, led by a member of the class president. Is there something they can do alone or as a group to put what they have learnt into practice?
  • Allocate a few minutes for the young ladies to write down what they intend to do in the next weeks to act on their observations. Inviting them to share their thoughts is a good idea.
  • Remember to remind the young ladies that they will have the opportunity to discuss their experiences at the start of the next meeting.

  4. 6–4 bce in Bethlehem, died c.
  5. 30 ce in Jerusalem), was one of the world’s great faiths.
  • The majority of Christians believe that he is the God-man, or the Incarnation of God.
  • The article Christology examines the development of Christian thinking on the teachings and nature of Jesus throughout history.

Name and title

Ancient Jews often had only one name, and when further detail was required, it was traditional to include the father’s surname or the location of origin in the name as well.As a result, throughout his lifetime, Jesus was referred to as Jesus son of Joseph (Luke 4:22; John 1:45, 6:42), Jesus of Nazareth (Acts 10:38), or Jesus the Nazarene (Luke 4:22).(Mark 1:24; Luke 24:19).Following his death, he was given the title ″Jesus Christ.″ Christ was not originally a given name, but rather a title derived from the Greek word christos, which is a translation of the Hebrew phrase meshiah (Messiah), which means ″the anointed one,″ as in ″the anointed one.″ Jesus’ disciples considered him to be the anointed son of King David, and some Jews anticipated him to restore the fortunes of Israel as a result of this title attribution.

Early Christian writers were aware that the Christ was a proper title, as evidenced by passages such as Acts 2:36, but in many passages of the New Testament, including those found in the letters of Apostle Paul, Jesus’ name and title are combined and used together as Jesus’ name: Jesus Christ, also spelled Christ Jesus (Romans 1:1; 3:24).Paul referred to Jesus by his given name, Christ, on occasion (e.g., Romans 5:6).

Summary of Jesus’ life

Even though he was born in Bethlehem, Jesus was a Galilean from Nazareth, a town near Sepphoris, one of the two major cities in Galilee, according to the gospels of Matthew and Luke (Tiberias was the other). He was born to Joseph and Mary somewhere between 6 bce and just before the death of Herod the Great (Matthew 2; Luke 1:5) in 4 bce, according to the earliest available evidence. However, according to Matthew and Luke, Joseph was solely his legal father in the eyes of the law. They claim that Mary was a virgin when Jesus was conceived and that she was ″discovered to be pregnant by the Holy Spirit″ when Jesus was born (Matthew 1:18; cf.

Luke 1:35).When Joseph was a carpenter (Matthew 13:55), it was considered to be an honorable profession because it required the use of one’s hands. And, according to Mark 6:3, Jesus himself became a carpenter.Despite the fact that Luke (2:41–52) claims that Jesus was precociously intelligent as a youngster, there is no additional proof of his childhood or early life.

  1. He was baptized by the prophet John the Baptist when he was a young adult, and he went on to become an itinerant preacher and healer after that (Mark 1:2–28).
  2. While in his mid-30s, Jesus had a brief public career that lasted maybe less than a year, but it was at that time that he drew widespread notice.
  3. He traveled to Jerusalem to commemorate Passover at some point between 29 and 33 CE—possibly as early as 30 CE—where, according to the Gospels, his entry was triumphal and filled with eschatological significance, and he died shortly after.
  4. He was apprehended, tried, and killed while he was there.
  5. Following his resurrection from the grave, his disciples started to believe that he had appeared to them.
  • They persuaded others to believe in him, which resulted in the establishment of a new religion, Christianity.

5 Teachings of Jesus that Will Improve Your Life

During His time on the earth, Jesus demonstrated the path to happiness, serenity, and a return to God’s eternal presence. His message is still relevant today. Your life will be more happy and full of meaning if you follow Jesus and put these five truths He taught into practice. 1

Love God and your neighbor

After being asked which commandment was the most essential, Jesus said, ″Thou must love the Lord thy God with all of thine heart; and with all of thine soul; and with all of thine intellect.″ The first and most important commandment is this. The second commandment is similar to the first: ″Thou shall love thy neighbor as oneself″ (Matthew 22:37–39).Replace your hatred with love and your rage and wrath with compassion, and you’ll find yourself feeling closer to God and experiencing more serenity in your life.During His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus preached the Golden Rule, which is as follows: ″Therefore, all things whatsoever you would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them″ (Matthew 7:12).

To put it another way, treat others the way you would like to be treated. As a result of your efforts, your connections will be strengthened and you will be happy.

Have faith in Jesus Christ

The Bible says in John 3:16: ″For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.″ Whoever believes in Jesus will not perish, but will have everlasting life.Having confidence in Jesus Christ entails placing one’s trust in Him as well as his teachings. This will bring you blessings in this life as well as in the world to come.4

Communicate sincerely with God

Jesus demonstrated through his life that we should pray to God, our heavenly Father, on a regular basis.God has a special affection for you.He is ready to assist you at any time.Through prayer, you may communicate with Him, show your thanks, and ask for what you require.

Peter inquired of Jesus when He was on the earth, saying, ″Lord, how many times shall my brother offend against me, and I will forgive him?″ Matthew 18:21–22 quotes Jesus as saying, ″I do not say unto thee, Until seventy times seven,″ but rather, ″Until seventy times seven.″ It is possible to bring greater serenity and forgiveness into our own life when we freely forgive those around us.

What Does Jesus Mean to Us Today?

″What Does Jesus Mean to Us Today?″ asks the author.Liahona, September 14–15, 2013.Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, is the Jesus I know and believe in, and he is the one I worship. The Holy Ghost has revealed this witness to me through the blessing and influence of the Holy Spirit.

″I know that He is…the Creator of the world and everything in it, that He is our Savior who loves each of us and who died on the cross for us, who teaches us compassion and forgiveness, who is the friend of all, the healer of the sick, and the giver of peace to all who will listen and believe in Him,″ I say.We must not allow modern man to be led away from ancient and latter-day truths—truths and spiritual experiences that occurred at the time when prophets walked and talked with Jesus. In the ancient apostles’ eyes, what did Jesus represent?

  1. What did He intend to convey to Peter?
  2. Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James were commanded by the women they saw as they approached the sepulcher, who said, ″Go…
  3. tell his followers and Peter.″ Mark, writing of the events that occurred on the morning of the Resurrection, adds that (Mark 16:7).
  4. They had been ordered particularly to tell Peter of the situation.
  5. Peter and John made their way to the sepulcher in haste.
  • Once inside, Peter noticed His beautifully folded linen clothing and the handkerchief that had been wrapped around His neck.
  • Peter was now a first-hand witness to this historic occasion.
  • On the Feast of Pentecost, Peter…

preached the glorious gospel of Jesus of Nazareth and gave his testimony about Jesus of Nazareth.″Men and brethren, what shall we do?″ the people cried out, their hearts pricked by the question.(See Acts 2:37.) ″Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and ye will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost,″ Peter said, expressing his newly formed depth of conviction (Acts 2:38).Three thousand persons professed faith and were baptized in the name of Jesus. They felt the presence and power of our Lord’s senior Apostle in their hearts.

  1. Was there ever a time when we questioned what Jesus meant to Peter?
  2. The intensity and magnitude of John’s conviction always serves to bolster my own convictions.
  3. There was never any question about it.

″In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God,″ he declared.″…He was the one who created everything….There was life in him, and the life was the light that illuminated the world. Moreover, ″the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not understood it″ (John 1:1–3, 5).… It is possible that we may never fully comprehend what Jesus meant to Nephi when the resurrected Christ came on the western continent and declared, ″Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets foretold would come into the world.″ … Later, according to Nephi, ″the crowd went forth, pushed their hands into his side, and felt the prints of his nails on his hands and feet″ (3 Nephi 11:10, 15).

… They had been in His presence and were able to provide testimony. What did Jesus mean to Joseph Smith as a young boy?It is the boy prophet’s own words that describe God the Father and Jesus Christ’s appearance to him in modern times: ″I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above and beyond the brightness of the sun….When the light fell upon me, I was struck by the sight of two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing in the air above me.One of them came up to me and addressed me by name, then pointed to the other and said, ″This is My Beloved Son.″ ″Listen to Him!″ (1) (Joseph Smith—History 1:16–17).

(2) … It is neither necessary or desirable for contemporary man to lose his spiritual knowledge and experiences since the testimony of ancient and modern prophets have been recorded for the benefit of mankind, and believers today continue to bear witness to the truths contained in those testimonies.Modern man must replace his uncertainties and doubts with a desire to learn more about Jesus and the way he came to be.As followers of Jesus the Christ, it is our job and a magnificent chance to provide ongoing witness to him.We must bear witness to the world to His deity, the reality of His birth in the flesh of both divine and mortal parents, and the fact that He is the Son of God.

He was chosen to carry out the most important duty of the Restoration and Redemption of the world. This He accomplished by being crucified and rising from the tomb, so making it possible for every human being, saint and sinner alike, to be resurrected as a result of the great Atonement of Jesus Christ.Everyone can be said to be on the road of perpetual advancement.Everyone who accepts Him and repents obtains forgiveness for his or her previous sins as well as the chance to be exalted in the presence of the Lord.″I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.″ (John 14:6) (John 14:6).Is it possible for the human intellect to generate a more noble view of man’s ultimate fate than what is now available?

The principal person is none other than Jesus Christ. When asked, ″What does Jesus mean to modern man,″ the response is straightforward.I vouch for the fact that He truly means everything.

How Early Church Leaders Downplayed Mary Magdalene’s Influence by Calling Her a Whore

She was Mary of Magdala, one of Jesus of Nazareth’s early disciples, and she was one of the most famous women in the world. It is said that she journeyed with him, witnessed his Crucifixion, and was one of those who were informed of his Resurrection, all according to the Scriptures.Everybody, from early church officials and historians to authors and filmmakers, has contributed to the revision and expansion of the tale of Mary Magdalene throughout history. On the one hand, they downplayed her significance by stating she was a prostitute, a wrecked woman who repented and was rescued by Christ’s teachings.

On the other hand, they emphasized her value by claiming she was a prostitute, a ruined woman who repented and was saved by Christ’s teachings.Mary Magdalene, on the other hand, is represented in several early Christian scriptures as more than just a mere follower; she is also depicted as Jesus’ close companion—which some have taken to suggest his wife.Which begs the question: is there any truth to either of these tales? What exactly do we know about Mary Magdalene, the lady who is considered to be the most intriguing woman in the Bible?

What the Bible Says About Mary Magdalene

However, only the Gospel of Luke discussed Mary Magdalene’s role in Jesus’ life and ministry, listing her among ″some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities″ (Luke 8:1–3).All four canonical gospels of the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) noted Mary Magdalene’s presence at Jesus’ Crucifixion, but only the Gospel of Luke discussed her role in his life and ministry.According to Luke, after Jesus cast out seven demons from her, Mary joined a group of women who traveled with him and his twelve disciples/apostles, ″proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God.″ They were ″proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God.″ However, although Magdalene is not a surname, it is associated with the city of Magdala, which is located in Galilee, in the northernmost area of ancient Palestine, and from whence Mary hailed (now northern Israel). In the words of Robert Cargill, an associate professor of classical and religious studies at the University of Iowa who is also the editor of the Biblical Archaeology Review, ″Mary Magdalene was one of Jesus’ early supporters.″ ″She was mentioned in the Gospels, which indicates that she was significant.

There were hundreds, if not thousands, of followers of Jesus, but we don’t know the names of the majority of them, according to what we know.As a result, the fact that she has been identified is significant.″ Mary Magdalene had an important role in the tale of the Resurrection, which took place after Jesus’ crucifixion, which she observed from the foot of the cross with many other women, and after all of Jesus’ male disciples had fled from the scene. In accordance with the gospels, Mary went to Jesus’ tomb on Easter Sunday, either alone herself (according to the Gospel of John) or in company with several women, and discovered that the tomb was vacant. The ladies are the ones who go to the disciples and inform them what has happened, as Cargill points out.

  1. That’s crucial since they were the ones who found that Jesus had resurrected from th
