The resurrection, not the crucifixion, is commemorated on that day in the church calendar.It’s impossible to imagine that a secular corporation like NBC would recognize the significance of this particular detail, yet it wasn’t lost on those Christian viewers who were paying attention.The concert last night served as a subtly pointed reminder that there are significant divisions among Americans when it comes to crucial issues such as art, entertainment, and religious beliefs.

Moreover, these divisions are influencing far more than simply Nielsen ratings in our country at the moment.

  • So when the opportunity arose to be a part of a rock opera, I jumped at the chance to be considered for the role of Jesus Christ Superstar in the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical, Jesus Christ Superstar.

  • To be awarded a role in the Superstar company, and to be able to perform several roles, was an honor (as do several of my colleagues).
  • Because this is a ROCK OPERA, for goodness sake!–and because the emotional depth of this novelization of biblical history is joyous, thought stimulating, heartbreaking, and uplifting at various points–we enjoy performing the tough music.
  • Being referred to as ″Mary, mother of Jesus.″ More than 50 people from the North Texas region are involved in the production, including performers, singers, orchestra members, and members of the technical team who are working on lighting, sound, costumes, choreography, and other aspects of the show.

Some of the performers are seasoned professionals, while for others, Jesus Christ Superstar is their first stage play.The audience, on the other hand, will be unable to distinguish between the two performances–yes, the entire cast is that amazing!Amanda Pillow (Mary Magdalene), Grant Bower (Jesus), and Amy (Mother Mary) sing from the balcony in this production of The Passion of the Christ.Please keep in mind that Teresa Natera, who is not depicted, shares the role of Magdalene.
