What comes to mind when you think of Jesus?

I thought the chapter on Jesus’ kingship, as well as what it represented for people, to be really intriguing.

Gilbert’s book is a must-read for anybody interested in religion.

Gilbert makes it apparent that Jesus is either an idiot or the creator of the world.

In this little pamphlet, we are given a thorough study of the subject of “Who is Jesus.” A very clear and extensive presentation of the subject is laid out by Greg Gilbert in this video, which is intended towards individuals who have not yet decided who Jesus actually is.

You have the option to reject it outright.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to get to know this man a little better before you entirely throw him under the bus?

As he opens the book, he poses the following question: “Of course, you may not agree with what Jesus has said.

His framework for his work is really well thought out, as is his ability to express it.

There was an earlier book, “The Case for Christ,” written by Lee Strobel, that had a significant impact on people’s decision to follow Christ.

In comparison to Gilbert’s book, this one is considerably lengthier.

If so, Gilbert’s book should be used.

I believe that Gilbert’s book will serve as a primer for many non-believers as they grapple with the question of whether Jesus was who he claimed to be, or if he was not.

A Person and work that stretches back over time and space, is promised at the beginning and end of time, is portrayed in Israel, the law, and the prophets, and eventually culminates and continues in the first century and into the future of time and space.

This was a really good small novel.

I loved how the person and work of Christ were explained in a straightforward and refreshingly approachable manner.

It is firmly rooted in scripture without being overwhelming to people who are unfamiliar with the entirety of God’s Word.

Book Review- Who is Jesus?

I am a huge admirer of the novels in the 9Marks series, and I highly recommend them. Each of them is really helpful and approachable. What a delight it was to recently get the latest Greg Gilbert CD , Who Is Jesus? It makes an attempt to communicate with someone who is looking into the biblical assertions about who Jesus is. However, I feel that the potential influence of a book like this is far greater than most people realize. As a result of the way Gilbert answers that question, this book will be beneficial to those who are familiar with Christianity but are not committed to it, those who are new Christians, those who are mature Christians, and evangelists or teachers who could benefit from sharpening or refreshing their knowledge on this topic.

Top 10 Books on the Historical Jesus

There is literally no limit to the avalanche of books published on Jesus that have been written. At the end of the first century, the author of the Gospel of John declared that the world would be unable to contain them! This is a list of choices made by one individual. It depicts fixed locations to which I find myself returning again and time again, with profit on the side. I have not given the titles in chronological order, but rather in the order in which I believe they should be approached.

People who are looking for a response to the question, ‘Why would we look for a historical Jesus behind the Gospels in the first place, and how should one go about doing so?’ will find a well-informed introduction in this section.

Albert Schweitzer’s The Quest for the Historical Jesus (The Quest for the Historical Jesus) (2nd German edition 1913; English, 2001) A lengthy history of Jesus research in the 18th and 19th centuries, authored by this brilliant polymath, ended up being one of the most intriguing works on Jesus ever written and is considered one of the most important contributions to the history of science.

Jesus the Christ (book) – Wikipedia

Jesus the Christ: A Study of the Messiah and His Mission (Jesus the Christ: A Study of the Messiah and His Mission) According to the Holy Scriptures Both Ancient and Modernis a book written by James E. Talmage that was published in 1915. A theological study on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, the book is universally regarded as a success among the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) (LDS Church). Jesus the Messiah is divided into 42 chapters, each of which focuses on a different aspect of Jesus’ life and purpose as a result of his baptism by John the Baptist.

History

For more than a century, the LDS Church has regarded Jesus the Christ, which was originally published in September 1915, as a classic literature containing its teachings and beliefs about the life and ministry of Jesus. For example, Marion G. Romney stated that anybody who has a thorough knowledge of the book Jesus the Christby Elder James E. Talmage, as well as his or her vision and spirit of the risen Lord, would realize that their trust in our exalted Redeemer has been significantly enhanced.

This course, as a rule, begins with the birth of Mary’s Babe and ends with the ascension of Jesus Christ from the cross and resurrection to the right hand of the Father.

The fact that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—the only Church that affirms authority based on specific revelation and commission to use the Lord’s Holy Name as a distinctive designation—should set forth her doctrines concerning the Messiah and His mission is particularly fitting and appropriate.”

Acceptance and publication

As a series of lectures conducted at LDS University in Salt Lake City from September 1904 to April 1906 under the auspices of theDesert Sunday School UnionBoard, Talmage’s study of the Savior was first made public. The church’s First Presidencyto requested that he publish the lectures in book form, which he gladly obliged. In order to fulfill other commitments, he was unable to finish this work for several years. Talmage was ordained as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on December 8, 1911.

Upon completion of each chapter, he delivered it to members of the First Presidency, members of the Twelve, and members of the Sunday School board of directors.

I am hoping to get started on the editing process as soon as possible.” Published more than a century ago and translated into a plethora of languages, Jesus the Christhas established himself as a classic work of Mormon literature.

It continues to be included in the “authorized missionary library,” which means that it is one of the few non-scriptural books that Mormon missionaries are encouraged to study on a regular basis.
