What Has Jesus Done For Me

What did Jesus actually do for us? — DesireJesus.com

Imagine going to a church worship session and never hearing the gospel message taught or preached. That is what it would be like. Unfortunately, there have been several instances in the past when this has been an issue, and it continues to be a source of concern in some situations today. We have a tendency to lose sight of who Jesus is and what He has decided to achieve on our behalf. Reading the Scriptures can provide us with the opportunity to gain new insight into a subject matter. The value of being reminded of something we already know but haven’t necessarily thought about in a long time comes in other situations.

Christians will learn something new as they consider the book’s content, while others will be reminded of topics they haven’t thought about in a long time.

What type of future would we be looking forward to right now if He hadn’t stepped in to help us out?

We’ve become so accustomed to the advantages He provides that we don’t stop to contemplate the type of mess we’d be in if He didn’t exist.

It is important to recognize that the work He has done on our behalf is considerably more significant and far more effective than we frequently appreciate.

1. Jesus experienced death and resurrection in order to defeat sin’s power in our lives

Because Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, he died in the flesh but was raised to life again through faith in the Spirit,”— 1 Peter 3:18, ESVS Throughout my life, I have sprained my right ankle on a number of occasions. Two of the sprains were considered severe. I couldn’t even walk properly. My leg was swollen almost all the way up to my knee and had changed colors several times. When the injuries were new, it seemed as if the pain and suffering would last forever, but it did, eventually, eventually end.

  • During Christ’s earthly ministry, His body was subjected to cruel treatment.
  • However, His suffering was only for a short period of time.
  • I see depictions of Him suffering on a regular basis, and I recognize that some theological traditions held by certain Christian denominations treat communion as if it were a reenactment of Jesus’ crucifixion, but this is not the case.
  • He is not trapped in a state of constant agony and pain.
  • Before mankind rebelled against God, we were warned that if we did not maintain a close relationship with the Lord, we would perish in the process.
  • Every single one of us was guilty, and none of us could correct the situation because we were all guilty of the same offense.
  • In order for us to be saved, Jesus took on flesh and became a man, suffering the punishment we deserved.
  • The righteous died in the place of the guilty in order to appease God’s wrath against our sin and then to bless us with the gift of His righteousness, which we lacked at the time of our sin.

Those who put their faith in Jesus can now look forward to experiencing resurrection, as the Holy Spirit indwells everyone who believes. As a result, we no longer have to be controlled by sin, Satan, or the fear of death. Christ has defeated their power in our lives.

2. Jesus proclaimed His victory over those who were defeating us

“when he went and declared to the spirits in prison, since they had previously refused to obey, while God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being made, in which a few, namely, eight humans, were taken safely over water.” ” — 1 Peter 3:19-20, English Standard Version There is a great deal of disagreement over what is intended by these passages. Some of the issues raised by this chapter are constantly argued by theologians, and I don’t expect that we will be able to resolve all of the issues raised by these lines today in our discussion.

  • The verse paints a picture in my mind’s eye of Jesus announcing His triumph over those who took pleasure in defeating His people.
  • According to legend, there are such entities as angels and demonic beings.
  • They are a distinct and independently formed order of entities.
  • It is recorded in the Bible that this world was populated with people who were in a state of constant rebellion against God in the days before the great flood.
  • And they were free to choose whom they wanted to be their spouses.
  • These were the powerful heroes of yore, the men of fame, the men of legend.
  • — Genesis 6:1–5, English Standard Version We’re also given the sense that fallen angels may have had children with human women, which would have contributed to the depravity that existed on the planet, much to God’s chagrin at the time.

As a result, if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and imprisoned them in chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; if God did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; — 2 Peter 2:4-5, English Standard Version During this historical period, the Lord instructed Noah to construct an ark.

  1. The ark was enormous.
  2. People would almost probably have seen it and inquired about it during that time period.
  3. The fact that they could have chosen to repent of their disbelief toward God every time they looked at it and considered what it meant is a testament to their character.
  4. When the floodwaters rolled in, just eight individuals were able to get inside the ark.
  5. As part of his campaign against mankind, Satan pushes us to insult the God who created us and gave us life.
  6. According to certain interpretations, 1 Peter 3:19 is informing us that, shortly after Christ’s resurrection and ascension, He proclaimed to the fallen angels who had been fighting against mankind throughout human history that they had been victorious over humanity.

Jesus has stated that their attempts to undermine mankind and God’s goals for His most valuable creation have failed, and that they will not succeed in their endeavors.

3. Jesus has allowed us to identify with Him

“Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a cleansing of filth from the body, but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, ” says the Apostle Paul. ” — 1 Peter 3:21, according to the ESVM The other night, my family and I were watching a classic sitcom together. One of the major characters was about to begin high school in the story. In the hopes of making good friends with the coolest person in school on his first day, he planned to spend the rest of the day getting to know him and learning more about him.

  • We are fortunate in that this is not the case.
  • It is through Baptism that we become associated with Him in our own situation.
  • When we put our faith in Jesus, we are taught that we are baptized with the Holy Spirit, joined with Christ, and united with one another.
  • And we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether we were in slavery or freedom, for we were all baptized into one Spirit.
  • While some individuals believe that water baptism has the ability to save a lost soul, such thinking is incorrect.
  • Even Peter himself admits that the baptism that saves is not the washing away of filth from the person’s body.
  • Water baptism is a tangible sign of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which took place the moment we accepted Christ as our Savior.
  • He has bestowed upon us the gift of His righteousness, and He is not ashamed to refer to us as His brothers and sisters in Christ.
  • We may confidently approach God the Father, knowing that when He looks at us, He will see the righteousness of Christ present in our hearts and minds.

4. Jesus rules and reigns with perfect judgement

Angels, authorities, and powers have been subordinated to him, as he has ascended into heaven and is sitting at the right hand of God. — 1 Peter 3:22 (KJV) ESVI was recently made aware of a news item claiming that an increasing number of individuals were having difficulty getting a decent night’s sleep. On being asked why, many of those who responded stated that they were kept up at night by their dread of international leaders making wrong or potentially hazardous judgments. They called into question the judgment of those who had been entrusted with the authority to lead nations and make governmental policy in their own countries.

  • Despite the fact that human leaders regularly fail us, our ultimate hope should never be placed in the hands of those we elect to public office.
  • According to this passage of Scripture, Jesus is seated at the right side of God the Father.
  • However, there is a day coming when Heaven and Earth will be joined, and Christ will rule with fairness, kindness, and perfect justice, as evidenced by his visible rule.
  • When I looked up, I saw a new heaven and a new earth, since the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no longer there.
  • It was a sight to behold.

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, nor will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, nor will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” — Revelation 21:1-4, Revelation 22:1-2, Revelation 23:1-2, ESVI s When you think about all that Jesus has done for us and all that He still has planned for us, it’s quite astounding.

He suffered for us, conquered sin’s power over us, announced His triumph to those who were determined to defeat us, permits us to identify with Him via baptism, and He governs and reigns with perfect justice and kindness on the earth.

When we become too preoccupied with ourselves or our day-to-day circumstances, it is easy to lose sight of these advantages. The tremendous grace of our Savior and Lord, on the other hand, is brought to our attention on a regular basis by the word of God. John Stange, et al., 2017

Nine Things that God has done for us in Christ

Thank you, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), for blessing us in Christ with every spiritual blessing (provided by the Holy Spirit) in the celestial realm! 4 Just as He selected us in Christ before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and faultless in His sight, even above reproach, when we came before Him in love, so He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world. He foreordained (determined, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will— 6to the praise and acclamation of His magnificent grace (favor and mercy), which He freely lavished on us in the Beloved 7 Through His blood, we have redemption (deliverance and salvation), and the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor, 8 which He lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence), 9 making known to us the mystery (secret) of His will, 10 which He revealed to us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and (of His plan, of His purpose).

In accordance with His good pleasure (His merciful intention), which He had previously purposed and set forth in Him, 10for the maturity of the times and the climax of the ages, to unify all things and head them up and consummate them in Christ, things in heaven and things on earth, things in heaven and things on earth In Him we were also given inheritance (a portion), and we received an inheritance; for we had been foreordained (chosen and appointed beforehand) in accordance with His purpose, and He works everything out in accordance with His counsel and design, 12 so that we who first hoped in Christ may live to the praise of His glory!

13 You, too, who have received the Word of Truth, the good news (Gospel) of your salvation, and who have placed your trust in, adhered to, and relied on Him, have been stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit, who has been promised for a long time.

The AMP version of Ephesians 1:3-14 1.

Father God has lavished us with every spiritual benefit available in the celestial realm through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

You and I have been chosen by God, have received His saving grace, have been adopted as His children, have received forgiveness, have gained insight into Spirit-related matters, have gained the ability to serve God and do His will, have gained the ability to use spiritual gifts, and have gained the hope of spending eternity with Him.

  1. The fact that spiritual rewards are bestowed from the “heavenly regions” indicates that these blessings are eternal rather than ephemeral.
  2. He has selected us as a result of our actions (Ephesians 1:4).
  3. We are not saved as a result of our good deeds, but as a result of God’s free and compassionate salvation.
  4. We can’t claim credit for His magnificent love for us; all we can do is show our gratitude and thankfulness to Him for His beautiful love for us.
  5. He has chosen us before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:511).
  6. Adopted children, regardless of whether or not they were formerly slaves, were entitled to the same rights as biological children under the law in effect at the time.
  7. He has made us feel welcome (Ephesians 1:6).

And not only that, but He cares for us in the same way that He cares for Jesus (John 17:23).

He has rescued us from our sins (Ephesians 1:7).

He paid the price for our redemption and forgiveness via His death and the richness and generosity of His gracious favor, and He paid the price for us to receive both.

Through Jesus Christ, we are liberated from the bonds of sin and brought into the freedom of forgiveness and good standing with God.

He has shown a great deal of interest in us (Ephesians 1:8).

God’s love, kindness, and favor have been lavished upon us in a generous and overabundance!

He has made himself known to us (Ephesians 1:9).

His plan of redemption was completed in Jesus Christ, and it was only after Jesus’ resurrection that we were able to grasp the entire scope of his plan.

8.

An inheritance is anything that you are not entitled to get.

All of God’s beautiful promises and rewards have been passed down to us in the Kingdom of God!

He has clinched the deal with us (Ephesians 1:13).

“Seal” is defined as follows: to stamp (with a signet or private mark) anything for security or preservation (literally or metaphorically); to keep something secret; to certify something.

We have been sealed by the wonderful Holy Spirit!

An “earnest” or “pledge” is a portion of the purchase money or property that is delivered in advance as security for the remainder of the purchase price or property. Rather than being a mere “earnest” or “pledge,” the Holy Spirit serves as a guarantee of our magnificent inheritance!

What Jesus Did for Me

When we begin to comprehend and embrace what Jesus Christ has done for us, we will be motivated to love Him, to follow Him, to honor Him, to please Him, and to worship Him for what He has done for us. Consider a few of the things He has done for us throughout the years. First and foremost, Jesus became poor.Ye know the kindness of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, he humbled himself for your sakes, that ye might become rich through his poverty (2 Corinthians 8:9). that in Him I may become spiritually wealthy.

  • 2.
  • Following his forty-day and forty-night fast, Jesus was left hungry (Matthew 4:2).
  • They will no longer be hungry, nor will they thirst any longer (Revelation 7:16).
  • Jesus was depressed and lonely.
  • Then Jesus turned to the twelve and said, “Will ye also walk away?” In order for me to never be alone, I read the Bible (John 6:66-67).
  • Four, Jesus had deep sorrow. Then he tells his disciples that his “soul is very sad, even unto death”: “tarry ye here, and wait with me” (Matthew 26:38), so that he would experience overflowing pleasure.
  • 5.

Then, by the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus was brought into the desert to be tempted by the devil (Matthew 4:1).

Moreover, because he himself has gone through the process of temptation, he is qualified to succour those who are tempted (Hebrews 2:18).

Jesus had been abandoned.

so that I may become one of an endless number of people.

In order for me to live eternally, Jesus was crucified. When they arrived to the location known as Calvary, they executed him there (Luke 23:33).

(John 3:16).

Jesus took on the form of a servant and was fashioned in the image of mankind (Philippians 2:7), in order for me to be adopted as God’s son.

9.

The Son of Man came to his own, and his own did not receive him (John 1:11).

We are declaring to you what we have seen and heard in order that you may have company with us; and really, our relationship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ (1 John 1:3).

I may defeat sin and gain a crown of triumph.

11.

Now my spirit is unsettled, and I’m not sure what to say.

that I would have peace that surpasses all understanding.

12.

And since he was in anguish, he prayed the more frantically, and his perspiration was like big drops of blood pouring to the ground (Luke 22:44).

Finally, my comrades, I bid you farewell.

Isaiah 53:3 says that Jesus was rejected by men: “He is despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we did not regard him as valuable.” Afterwards, the King will address them from his right hand, saying: Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom that has been prepared for you from the foundation of the world (Matthew 25:34).

  1. 14.
  2. To this, Jesus responds, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has no place to lay his head” (Matthew 8:20).
  3. There are many mansions in my Father’s home; if this were not the case, I would have informed you.
  4. Given that God loves us so much that He sent His Son to accomplish all of these things for us, how could we possibly refuse to give anything to Him in exchange?

As the hymn writer put it, “Would if the entire sphere of nature were mine, That would have been a gift much too little; Love so marvelous, so heavenly, Demands my soul, my life, and my entire being.” Call (540) 434-0768 for more information about Isaac Watts Christian Light Publications, Harrisonburg, VA 22802.

What Jesus has done for me

  • My GOD has done for me what no other human being has ever been able to do. He has forgiven me of my sin and accepted me as a child into His kingdom. I am eternally grateful. And His name is Jesus, and He has given of Himself and given me LOVE in return for my love for Him. Jesus has taken up residence in my heart and will never leave it. And it is Jesus who has provided me with tranquility that beyond everything I have ever experienced or can comprehend. In my desolate, barren, and thirsty spirit, He has given life to it since He alone is the source of all life. He has given me His life for the rest of my days and for all of eternity. It is because He is LOVE that He has bestowed His Love onto me
  • My GOD has shown mercy on me when I deserved none at all. No action on my part has resulted in His Mercy being extended to me. He gave it to me before I was even a thought in his mind. He knew I would never be able to come to Him in my current state as a sinner. He saw my need for a rescuer who would redeem me and restore me to a healthy relationship with Him. Because of GOD’s Mercy, He was able to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to the world and pay the penalty for my sin. In accordance with GOD’s law, my death (my blood) was necessary to atone for my sin
  • Nevertheless, GOD, in His LOVE, enabled His Son to take upon Himself all of the sins of the world and pay the price I could never pay
  • My GOD extended to me His favor, which is known as Grace. He was under no obligation to do so, yet he did. The compassion of GOD for me was demonstrated by the death on the cross of His son, Jesus. I didn’t earn GOD’s favor, I didn’t give Him a hundred dollars, and I didn’t make any promises to be good. He was well aware that I would never be able to keep that commitment. The fact that I am famous, influential, or any other silly man-made label or form of self-worship did not earn me this position. Just to put it another way, God extended His compassion to me because He cherished me and not because of anything I am or have done. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or how you appear, God offers His Grace to everyone regardless of your circumstances. Through His Son, Jesus Christ, God has extended His Love to everyone. He did this before we were even born, and he did it while fully aware of who we were. sinners in desperate need of the redeeming LOVE of His Son The problem is that not everyone chooses to embrace His LOVE, despite the fact that it is available to everyone
  • My GOD revealed to me the source of my sin. GOD made it possible for me to realize my ugliness and the Sin that it was. I was a sinner who lived for my own pleasures and in accordance with my own desires. My sense of self-worth or pride was powerful, ugly, and entrenched, its tentacles covering my entire body. Looking in the mirror, I envisioned a horrifying death in the depths of Hell. I realized how pitiful my heart was. I realized that, despite my best efforts, I have no redeeming qualities at all. Self-life may manifest itself in a variety of ways in order to achieve its goals and aspirations. Make no mistake about it, sin is deceitful and will ultimately ruin you. Sin’s objective is to murder, steal, and destroy everything in his path. Its falsehoods about goodness, money, and power should not be believed. My GOD assisted me in seeing that my personal life needed to be addressed, and that it needed to be addressed quickly
  • My GOD provided me with the sole answer to my dilemma! A VISION from GOD revealed to me that His Son, Jesus, had already paid the penalty for my sin a long time ago and that my guilt could be forgiven if I repented and trusted in Him and what He had accomplished for me. My self-life might be defeated and my sin could be forgiven if I trusted in Jesus. My GOD was presenting me with the gift of eternal life in paradise rather than in hell. MY GOD was showering me with LOVE
  • MY GOD revealed to me His plan for my redemption, which included His Son, whom he had sent into this world to serve as my Savior. No doubt, I recognized the need for salvation as a result of what GOD had revealed to me earlier concerning my sin (my own life) and the death penalty I was facing. GOD informed me that no matter how good I was on my own, it would never be enough to atone for my sin. I believed him. It is impossible for me to be pardoned for something I could possibly have done on my own. I was in debt and had no way of repaying it. GOD demonstrated to me that forgiveness could only be obtained through the killing of His Son on the cross and the resurrection of His body. Jesus had paid the fee that had been demanded of me by writing a check to GOD in the form of His own blood. Jesus paid the price that I would never be able to pay. It was through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, that I received forgiveness
  • My GOD granted me forgiveness on my terms. My pardon would only be granted if I admitted that I was a sinner. Once I believed and accepted what Jesus had done for me on the cross, I had to believe and accept that He had risen from the dead and is now alive and sitting in the heavenly kingdom. Once I admitted that I was a sinful person, I could beg Jesus to pardon me for my disobedience to his commands. The most important step in asking Jesus to pardon my wrongdoing was to approach Him directly. It was necessary for me to inquire. No one could ever come up to me and beg for me. My baptism as a child had also failed to satisfy my sin debt. Going to church, or even going to a certain church, could not be ruled out. The fact that you were raised by Christian parents or that you were always good wouldn’t cut it either. No, it was my responsibility to acknowledge and inquire. When I accepted what Jesus accomplished for me and believed that Jesus died and rose again in payment for my sin, confessed to Jesus that I was a sinner, and personally begged Him to enter into my life and take charge of it, GOD granted me eternal life in His presence with no conditions. What do you think is better? I don’t have anything since my GOD gave me Heaven. Heaven is the place where GOD resides. God’s radiance, his beauty, his holiness, and the essence of his existence may be seen throughout Heaven. The children of GOD are never tired of praising and worshiping His holiness. As a result of GOD’s presence in Heaven, there is love, peace, and relaxation. In Heaven, there is no such thing as sin, suffering, hurt, sobbing, or any other harmful or destructive thing. These things are not possible. But, most significantly, my GOD is in Heaven, and I will have the opportunity to worship Him and be with Him for the remainder of my life
  • My GOD has provided me with serenity and tranquility. He has provided me with a sense of security. He has given me hope and assistance when no one else could. My GOD has removed every grief, hurt, and unforgiveness from my life in an instant. He has lavished His peace and love on me in ways that I will never be able to comprehend. GOD gave me the power to forgive and love when I had previously lacked these abilities. Thank you very much, Jesus! What happiness I’ve experienced since then

It’s something I recall vividly. In prayer, I engaged in a week-long wrestling match with GOD. I knew I had to forgive because He had instructed us to do so. Unforgiveness is a form of hatred, and hatred in the heart is the same as killing someone. When we have any feelings of unforgiveness in our hearts, we are unable to be in God’s will. But, in any case, I recall that I had been in a state of upheaval due to my feelings of unforgiveness. There was a great deal of suffering that I created and that was inflicted upon me.

  1. All I knew was that I needed to forgive people, and that I couldn’t do it on my own because I was too hurt.
  2. The sentiments and sadness were still there, and I was quickly reverted to my old ways of being resentful.
  3. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
  4. It’s virtually impossible to describe.
  5. All the way home, I sobbed and thanked God for everything.
  • My GOD has blessed me with JOY! My heart was flooded with an indescribable, uncontrollable bliss! It was only then that I realized why on earth I hadn’t taken the initiative before. What on earth was I thinking? Why would I want to cling on to all of the garbage in my life when I might enjoy His Joy? What was I thinking? No matter how hard I try, I don’t want to return to that position of anguish, hurt, and unforgiveness. You can’t justify holding on to something when you may be free and full of His Joy. I don’t want to hold on to anything that represents my self-life (pride) any more. My self-life(sin) is the only thing that keeps me tethered to death. Amounts of money, people, a home, a vehicle, a life, or anything else on this planet are nothing compared to the joy and freedom I have discovered in my GOD, His Son Jesus Christ, and His Spirit
  • My GOD has provided me with freedom through Him
  • My GOD has provided me with joy and freedom through Him. The freedom I experience comes from following His Will. His Will is always right for me, no matter what. My selfish, domineering, and imprisoning self-will is constantly present in my life. It is my self-will that holds me enslaved to feelings of pride, dissatisfaction, turmoil, suffering and the list goes on.

The JOY of GOD has been given to me. My heart was overflowing with indescribable, uncontrollable delight. It was only then that I realized why on earth I hadn’t taken the plunge before. My thoughts were completely bogus. When I could experience His Joy, why did I choose to cling to all of the garbage in my life instead? Those feelings of grief, hurt, and unforgiveness are something I’d never want to return to again. You can’t justify holding on to something when you may be free and enjoy His Joy instead.

My self-life (sin) is the only thing that holds me bound to death.

It is my freedom when I am submissive to God’s Will.

My greedy, dominating, and imprisoning self-will is constantly present.

  • It is because He is the One True Living Deity, the Creator of all things and the Sustainer of all things, that my GOD has done more for me than any human or bogus god could have done. He, GOD, LOVE, has given me a life with Him in His home place for the rest of my days. He has poured His LOVE into my dry well to overflowing proportions. His Grace sustains me on a daily basis, and His Mercy is fresh with each new day. My GOD has made promises to me that I am confident He will keep. My GOD has promised to accompany me on all of my journeys, and His hand is always under me, guiding and supporting me along the way. I have a living GOD who is concerned about me, loves me without condition, and desires for me to be His kid. My GOD gave me a GIFT when He demonstrated His LOVE for me via His own Son, Jesus. A gift is anything that is given to you by another person. You are not required to work for it or make any kind of payment for it. Currently, in this fallen society, we are continually inundated with the message that we must do something in order to be granted a gift. Santa has a nice and a naughty list for everyone on his list. Parents have the same list and conditionally provide affection to their children, despite the fact that most of them attempt not to. We are continually taught that we must do this in order to obtain that. Performance is the name of the game, and it is both unsightly and self-serving in its nature.

As the One True Living Deity, the Creator of all and the Sustainer of all, my GOD has done more for me than any human or bogus god could ever imagine. A life with Him in His home place for the rest of my days has been granted to me by GOD, LOVE. I’ve had my dry well filling with His LOVE because of His kindness toward me. Throughout the day, His Grace sustains me. Every morning, His Mercy is fresh in my heart. A promise from my GOD that I am confident He will fulfill. My GOD has promised to accompany me on all of my journeys, and His hand is always under me, guiding and supporting me down the path.

I received a GIFT from my GOD, who demonstrated his love for me via His own Son, Jesus.

You are not required to earn it or to make any kind of payment for it in order to receive one.

Both the nice and naughty lists have been compiled by Father Christmas.

Most parents, despite their best efforts, have the same list and conditionally give love. The message is constant: do this in order to receive that. Performance is the name of the game, and it is both unsightly and self-serving in its nature; and

  • The fact why He desires for you to dwell with Him in Heaven is due to the fact that He understands that it is impossible for humanity to reach Heaven on their own. God, via His Son, Jesus Christ, has given the only means of escape.

What Has God Done For Me Lately?

It is important that your attitude be the same as that of Christ Jesus. Paul writes in Philippians 2:5 that he wants to be a blessing to others (NIV) Is the glass half-full or half-empty, depending on how you look at it. Is it mostly sunny or mostly overcast outside? The ability to see things from a different perspective is invaluable. Even for strong Christians who are firmly rooted in their faith, discouragement may quickly infiltrate our hearts and minds when life throws us a curve ball or two.

  1. We may find ourselves asking God, “What have you done for me lately?” in the manner of the old hymn from the 1980s.
  2. It is so easy to lose sight of the good that God does for us on a daily basis because we are so engrossed in the reality of the bad that we forget to thank him for what he has done.
  3. Prayer.
  4. Take a moment to reflect on all of our blessings.
  5. Every one of your breaths.
  6. A spouse or other close relative.
  7. Clothes that need to be washed since God provided you with clothing to wear as well as a means of washing those garments.

When you are dealing with health issues, you need doctors that are trustworthy and well-educated.

It is necessary to have a vehicle to drive.

I have a job to go to.

Children who are in good health and can participate in sports or music.

When we are in a negative frame of mind, we become our own worst adversary.

For this reason, we must first choose to alter our way of thinking – our viewpoint – before we can change our thoughts.

“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every chance; an optimist sees the opportunity in every trouble,” Winston Churchill famously observed.

After all, today is the first day of the rest of your life, and it is never too late to learn to be an optimist, to paraphrase a well-worn cliche.

The more you engage in this type of thinking, the more automatic it will become in your mind.

Are you prepared to accept the task of learning to be an optimist right now?

Dear Lord, please help me overcome my natural propensity to be judgmental of others and to search for the bad in every scenario.

Thank You for being patient with me while I seek to be a godly example.

I appreciate it. Help my heart to notice You at work, rather than perceiving things from an earthly viewpoint, as I go about my day. Help me to have a deeper connection with You by assisting me in remembering to count my blessings on a daily basis. In the name of Jesus, Amen. ***

What Christ Did for Us

In a natural way, the story of Christianity is intertwined with the story of Christ. The work of Christ on our behalf reveals God’s redemptive purpose for our lives. What Christ did for us is referred to as the atonement, and it is the only means by which we may restore our damaged relationship with God. But first, let us take a look at who Christ is, what He claims to be unique, and how trustworthy the New Testament is before we proceed. What is Christ’s identity? Christ is a title, not a name, as is commonly believed.

  1. The Hebrews were eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Messiah.
  2. In Him, we find fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies and the key to God’s plan to heal our damaged connection with Him.
  3. Christ’s Claims to Authority The significance of the question “Who is Christ?” cannot be overstated.
  4. Scripture references include (but are not limited to) Matthew 16:15, Mark 8:29, and Luke 9:20.
  5. Jesus made a number of unusual assertions, leaving His audience with just a few alternatives as to what He was really like.

The following is found in John 10:32-33: “Jesus responded to them, ‘I have shown you many wonderful miracles from the Father.’ Which of them do you want me to get stoned for?’ It was not for any of these reasons that the Jews were stoning him, but rather for blasphemy, for claiming to be God while being only a mortal man.” Prior to this, in John 8:58, Jesus identified himself with God, the “I AM” of the Old Testament (Exodus 3:14), when He declared, “I tell you the truth.

  1. before Abraham was born, I am!” They grasped what Jesus was implying once more, and in the very next sentence, “they took up stones to stone him,” they show their understanding by doing so.
  2. As an example, in Mark 2:5, Christ declares that “your sins are forgiven.” In Mark 2:7, his detractors questioned, “Why does this gentleman speak in such a strange manner?
  3. “Who else except God has the power to pardon sins?” Christ also accepted worship, which was traditionally designated for God alone, especially in light of His Jewish heritage and cultural context.
  4. Was Jesus simply a human being?
  5. “I’m attempting here to prevent anyone saying the truly silly thing that people say about Him: ‘I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I’m not ready to accept His claim to be God,'” C.S.
  6. That is the one thing we are not allowed to mention.
  7. He would either be a madman or the Devil of Hell, depending on your point of view.

Either this man was, and continues to be, the Son of God, or he is a lunatic or something even worse.” The Book of Revelation Several things are recorded in the New Testament: that Jesus associated Himself with God, that His detractors recognized this, that He claimed to be able to forgive sins, and that He was worshipped.

  • These are some remarkable assertions.
  • As has been mentioned several times, the New Testament manuscripts are the most thoroughly documented documents in all of ancient history.
  • These four books are known as the four Gospels.
  • It is simply not correct to assert that the New Testament writings have changed with time and with translation.
  • Minor differences in language and copyist mistakes, collectively referred to as variants, are permissible; nevertheless, none of them have an influence on important areas of Christian theology and are, in reality, insignificant when it comes to Christ and His claims.
  • The temporal span between the time of Christ and when some early New Testament writings were written is also small by historical standards, particularly in the case of the Gospel of John.
  • As a result, there was no time for Christ to become the subject of tales to grow.

Furthermore, the book of 1 Corinthians has sections that present the fundamental ideas of the Gospel, such as 1 Corinthians 15:1-8: The gospel that I taught to you, which you accepted, and on which you have made your stand, is what I want to remind you of now, brothers.” If you cling tenaciously to the message I proclaimed to you, you will be saved by this gospel.

It was important to me to pass down what I had learned to you, first and foremost: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter and subsequently the Twelve.

The Atonement is a term that refers to the act of atoning for a sin.

As a result of Jesus’ death and resurrection, there are several Christian perspectives on how the Atonement restores our broken relationship with God.

Despite the fact that John 3:16 is frequently referenced, it does not take away from its importance as a statement of God’s purpose and the atonement: According to John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whomever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life.” God has extended his hand to us.

  • Christ has risen from the dead for us.
  • The following installment in this series is concerned with the very first steps in living for Christ.
  • Conversations with C.S.
  • He received his undergraduate degree in philosophy of religion and apologetics from Denver Seminary and is now doing graduate studies in philosophy at Southern Evangelical Seminary.
  • C.S.
  • 55-56, is a good place to start.
  • The Case for Christ, written by Lee Strobel, provides further evidence in support of Christ (Zondervan, 1998).

What Jesus Has Done for You

Christ Is the Center of EverythingSermonSubmittedPresented32:32 What the Lord Has Done for You is the title of this song. Important Takeaway:When we comprehend the extent to which God has saved us, we can’t help but be affected by God’s deeds of redemption. I frequently speak with folks who feel they have been rescued. They, on the other hand, have little or no understanding of Christ’s work for us. One of the most alarming aspects of the situation of the modern-day church is the amount of individuals who believe that they are saved, but who have no understanding of the sacrifice that Jesus made on their behalf.

  1. It is human nature to seek pardon without taking responsibility.
  2. They long for paradise while remaining silent about the fact that what they actually deserve is damnation.
  3. What has Christ done to make things better for us?
  4. The term () employed here signifies that something has been elevated to the level of *worthiness.
  5. Nothing has been accomplished in this regard by us.
  6. God provides us with all we require in order to be a part of His kingdom.
  7. We are unable to go out and acquire it.

What is it that makes us qualified?

It is a state of holiness.

We are guilty of sin.

We are estranged from the Creator.

So, how does God assess our qualifications?

He says a word, and we are justified in our actions.

Consider what He qualifies us for, however: that is, that we would be entitled to a portion in the inheritance.

The NT, on the other hand, offers a new land.

The country that the Lord has promised us is the land of heaven, and this is what we will inherit from him.

God has created a place where there is nothing but his presence.

We are bred to be well-versed in our fields.

Not alone has the Father qualified us, but we have also qualified ourselves.

Consider the following verse: Because He has saved us from the realm of darkness and moved us to the kingdom of His loving Son, we are grateful to Him.

What exactly is the kingdom of the dark?

It is controlled by wicked and judicial decision.

And you and I were both citizens of that realm.

We tried to find reasons to explain our actions.

We went about our daily lives under the control of the night.

The path of selfishness served as our guide.

God, on the other hand, saved us from it!

God has set us free from the slavery that we had been subjected to in the darkness.

It is quite another to demonstrate that God has done so.

A compass, a pocketknife, and some twine didn’t just appear out of nowhere; God provided us with all of these tools as well.

God’s loving Son’s kingdom has come!

But salvation is more than just being rescued; it is also being transferred.

Too many of us are preoccupied with what we been saved from, while not nearly enough of us are preoccupied with what we have been rescued for!

He also saved you from the tyranny of the devil’s enslavement.

Consider the possibility that you have been seized and enslaved.

What would you say in response?

Would you be unable to make a witness statement?

Is there no hope to share?

The fact that someone has saved your life and placed you in the beautiful Kingdom of eternal life should be announced from the top of the highest mountain.

We should also keep in mind that the Kingdom to which we belong is referred to as the “kingdom of His loving Son.” It is not our Kingdom, after all.

Is it possible that you’ve come across someone who appears to believe that the world revolves around them?

They want their church to cater to their every whim and desire, don’t they?

What do you think they’re thinking?

Rather, we are subjects of the Kingdom.

The word “redeemed” () is a marketing phrase that refers to the act of redeeming something.

Using this phrase to refer to our salvation suggests that we formerly belonged to someone or something else, and that Jesus subsequently purchased us on our behalf.

What exactly were we held in servitude to?

If God wants something from the devil, he will simply accept it without question.

Since the fall of Adam and Eve, humanity has been enslaved by the sin of Adam and Eve.

Our first instinct is to strike out in anger rather than serve in humility.

In church, we keep an eye on the clock, whereas during a football game, we lose sight of time.

We, on the other hand, stand by and watch as others are attacked on a regular basis.

Have.

Adopted.

Sin.

It is imperative for those who have been redeemed to exalt His sanctified name!

It is in them that we find redemption and forgiveness of sins.

We have had our sins expunged from the record of our transgression by the grace of God.

God has forgiven us because of the redemption He has accomplished.

However, this does not imply that God just “turns a blind eye” to the wrongs that we have committed.

In the end, God the Father’s love for His Son is the foundation for our forgiveness.

It is God who is annihilating the power of our sins.

“We have now been forgiven; even now, our sins have been put away; right now, we stand before God accepted, as if we had never been guilty.” As a result, those who believe in Christ Jesus are no longer under condemnation.” Even now, there is not a single offense against one of God’s chosen people recorded in the Book of God.

It seems to the Judge of the whole earth that no believer bears a single speck, nor a stain, nor a wrinkle, nor any other such thing on his or her person when it comes to the question of justification.” Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening, Morning on May 15, as cited in the text.

It is done in order to downplay what He did on the Cross.

Regarding Forgiveness and the Cross, Martin Lloyd-Jones states the following: As a result, the Cross does not only inform us that God forgives; it also informs us that this is God’s method of making forgiveness possible.

Now let me elaborate: How can God forgive while maintaining his divine nature?

God has been vindicated by the Cross.

The Cross not only demonstrates God’s love in the most glorious way possible, but it also demonstrates His righteousness, justice, holiness, and all of the splendor of His eternal attributes in their fullness.

In the event that you do not see all of them, you have not seen the Cross.

As you can see, salvation does not consist just in the fact that Jesus gave His life for us.

He is the offering we make in his honor.

What you require is more than just a fresh start.

It’s a fresh start.

That can only be obtained through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.

There is a need for you to be forgiven, and you must be born anew.

For those who need to be given a new start in Christ, I ask you to come up this morning and express your need.

Perhaps you need to demonstrate your new life in a public setting by receiving baptismal rites. If you are aware that you have been saved but have not yet participated in a biblical baptism, I am urging you to come forward today and commit yourself to this act of faith and obedience.
