Joey Rory Where Jesus Is

Joey + Rory – Where Jesus Is

This morning is a new day. The seats were made of hay bales. The pulpit is a saddle that has been put over a stall. The floor was little more than a carpet of sawdust. The babtistry is little more than a rusted old traun There were no stepals to be found. There were no hymnals available. However, heaven intervened. There were no suits in attendance. Boots that are simply worn out Even if only two people are collected in his hands while standing on sacred ground, I suppose it is real. That is the location of Jesus.

Their alter consists of a footlocker dumped in the sand.

However, they were still aware of his presence in that tent.

There were no hymnals available.

  • There were no suits in attendance.
  • If even two people are collected in his clutches, I suppose it is true.
  • Whether it’s on a flight or this ancient bus He always finds a way to greet us in quiet.
  • In places where there are no hymnals, Heaven has come to earth.
  • Alternatively, we may wear our cowboy boots.
  • If even two people are collected in his clutches, I suppose it is true.
  • This is the location where Jesus is.

However, heaven intervened. There were no suits in attendance. Boots that are simply worn out Standing on hallowed ground is an honor. I suppose it’s true if even two of them are gathered in his grasp.

  • They had gathered and were praying somewhere.
  • Sundays at home are now only a distant memory.
  • There were no stepals to be found.
  • However, heaven intervened.
  • Boots that are simply worn out Standing on hallowed ground is an honor.

Where Jesus Is Lyrics Joey+Rory( Joey And Rory ) ※ Mojim.com

This morning is a new day. No steeples, no hymnals, and no suits were present, but heaven came down in the form of old, rusted troughs and hay bales. I guess it’s true that if even two are gathered in his midst, that’s where Jesus issomewhere. I guess it’s true that if even two are gathered in his midst, that’s where Jesus issomewhere. Even though they were assembled and praying in a tent with nothing but their feet on the sand and Sundays at home as a distant memory, they could still feel his hand there in that tent.

  • Despite the fact that there were no hymnals, heaven did come down.
  • The only thing missing were suits; all that was left were worn-out boots standing on sacred ground.
  • In places where there are steeples, yet there are no hymnals In our Sunday shoes or cowboy boots, heaven descends on us; it is all sacred ground.
  • This is the location where Jesus is.

Rays of Hope: The Love Story of Joey + Rory – Jesus Calling Podcast Episode 30

Rory Feek (Rory Feek): Our narrative is both complex and straightforward at the same time. It’s complex because it goes through all of these twists and turns, just as a good movie does at the end. It all starts in one area and then takes you on a wild rollercoaster throughout the rest of the film. And wherever you are in our journey, I believe, or at the very least hope, that you will recognize a part of yourself; in your life, in your marriage, in your connections, in your religion, or in your problems, I believe you will recognize a bit of yourself.

  • Rory Feek, composer (as well as filmmaker, blogger, and novelist), is the spouse of Joey Feek and the father of three girls.
  • Country music duo Joey + Rory are nominated for a GRAMMY Award for their work, which weaves beautiful stories about things that are important to them.
  • Rory provides us with a glance into his past and the events that lead up to the most incredible love story he would ever encounter.
  • I was born there and then spent a little period of time in Highland, Kansas, but I actually grew up all across the United States of America.
  • Country music was something I grew up listening to.
  • That is exactly how I came to find music, and it is also the reason why I enjoy narrative in general.
  • He would share music with me or singers on the radio who were singing songs and telling stories, such as Merle Haggard and Don Williams, and other artists of that caliber, with me.
  • It wasn’t until years and years later that I discovered that there were genuine songwriters working behind the scenes, composing and shaping the songs I was listening to.
  • That was something I didn’t realize until I was in my 30s.

Growing Up in Music

Rory Feek: I’d want to thank you for your time and consideration. Despite the fact that our tale is both intricate and straightforward, In the same way that a great movie takes all these twists and turns, it is difficult. There is no beginning or end to this voyage; it just transports you from point A to B. And I believe, or at the very least hope, that wherever you are in our journey, you will recognize a bit of yourself; whether it’s in your life, your marriage, your connections, your religion, or your challenges.

  1. Rory Feek, composer (as well as filmmaker, blogger, and novelist), is the spouse of Joey Feek and the father of three girls.

  4. Originally from that area, I then moved to Highland Kansas for a short period of time, but I grew up all around the United States.
  5. Country music was a part of my childhood.
  6. Really, that’s how I came to appreciate music, and it’s also why I enjoy narrative in general.
  7. Musicians on the radio, such as Merle Haggard and Don Williams, as well as other performers who were singing songs and delivering stories would be shared with me by my father.
  8. That it was actual songwriters who were creating and developing those songs was something I didn’t understand until years and years later was something I realized.

It wasn’t the artist’s fault, however. Not until I was in my thirties did I realize what I’d been missing all along. I knew after I had done so that this was exactly what I had intended to accomplish after all.

One Night at the Bluebird Cafe: Joey Meets Rory

When I began to have some success as a songwriter, I was thrilled. I signed a publishing agreement with Harlan Howard, who is regarded as one of the most iconic songwriters in Nashville. In addition to writing “I Fall To Pieces” for Patsy Cline and “Tiger By The Tail” for Buck Owens, he composed dozens, dozens, and most likely hundreds and hundreds of more songs that you’ve undoubtedly heard played on the radio over the years. He and his wife took me under their wing and served as mentors to me throughout my life.

  1. That’s when I decided to purchase the ancient farmhouse where I’m currently residing, which is roughly an hour south of Nashville.
  2. At the time, I was performing at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, which is a well-known venue for songwriters, and she was in the crowd and witnessed my performance.
  3. Many times, she’s told me the tale about how she was in the crowd and how she observed and listened to me and the other performers perform.
  4. However, I did introduce my children Heidi and Hopie, who were in attendance, at some point during the concert.
  5. A subsequent set of circumstances led her to another songwriter’s night, which she attended with great enthusiasm.
  6. So when she heard that, she went to the location to test whether the emotions she felt were still there.
  7. It turned out that they were.
  8. It wasn’t long after that that we began dating; we only dated for about two months before getting engaged and then getting married two months later.

The Great Love Story: Songs and Stories About Faith

In that songwriter’s night, the epic love story of Joey and Rory began, and it has continued to this day, even through Joey’s cancer diagnosis, treatment, and her final goodbye in March of 2016. Rory detailed a regular morning on his blog as he and Joey prepared to say goodbye to mom in her dying days. He would get up in the morning, check on his wife, and then “sit at the table with a daily devotional calledJesus Callingand the Bible,” according to his wife. In our daughter’s crib, I am listening to what God is saying through the words on the page and silently conversing with Him while I am listening to what God is saying through the words on the page.” Here’s Rory once again for your consideration.

  • As a group, we were able to tell stories that weren’t just songs meant to make us famous or to get our names on some sort of music chart.
  • Consequently, we made a point of including at least one song that was based on faith in each and every album we released.
  • We went into the studio because Joey had a strong desire to record an album of hymns and songs that she had grown up listening to.
  • As a result, we traveled to Nashville in the summer of 2015 and recorded some of Joey’s favorite songs.

After Joey had her second cancer operation, we went into the studio and recorded the project, which happened not long after. We were still clinging to the notion that everything would turn out well in the end.

One Last Song: Seeing God’s Wisdom

As a result, Joey continued to sing. We would be in hotel rooms, and she would be recording her vocals, while I would record them for her, and we would just keep working on the album the entire time we were there. We did learn, sometime in the midst of all of this, that the disease had continued to progress, despite all they had done. We came to the realization that this was the final album she was going to make, and that this was the last record we were going to create together. It became much more significant to us as a result.

  1. The signals that she was conveying were even more significant.
  2. In terms of how we were going to spend the next six months, we didn’t have anything set in stone.
  3. We weren’t sure how many days, weeks, or months we had left.
  4. Each day, we would just get up and try our best to continue living a wonderful life and telling a wonderful tale; loving each other and sharing it with the world.
  5. It was really just seeing the farm she grew up on, the farmhouse, and being among the small hamlet and the folks up in the mountains that brought her back to her roots.
  6. We were there for five months and were able to see the entirety of the conclusion of my wife’s tale during that time.
  7. We had been expressing our story very honestly and genuinely, including the good and the bad, the hardships and the enormous joys that we had experienced.
  8. Consequently, I was given the opportunity and obligation to share her story, as well as our story, and it’s been incredible to see where it has lead us.

To Joey With Love

Now that my wife has died away 10 months ago and I’m here with my kid, who will be three in a few weeks, it’s easier to see the silver lining in the circumstance once again, even if I’m still grieving. I’m reminded of my ex-girlfriend. We had been expressing our story very honestly and genuinely, including the good and the bad, the hardships and the enormous joys that we had experienced. Or even now, in the book that’s about to be out, half of it is really about my life before I met Joey, which is fascinating.

  • For the most part, it’s a wonderful love story that I’ve had the privilege of being a part of; however, it’s even more amazing when you realize how far God has taken me in order to have the opportunity to be with her and how much He is still working on me.
  • So whether it was the five months that we spent in Indiana last year and the tale that we were writing on the blog and sharing with others while Joey was living; or whether it was the final few months that someone very difficult was going through, it all counts.
  • Those are slightly different stories; they are slightly more complex stories as a result.
  • You can see it, and you can understand who she is, why she made the decisions she did, and what an incredible woman she is as a result of seeing it.

The reality is that we had to go through a lot of difficulties to get to where we were. That is for her and me together, and it is much more important for me. That, I believe, is the aspect that most people can connect to.

Seeing the Rays of Hope

Joey and I, even at the most terrible of times, never lost sight of the beams of optimism that shone through. The rays of optimism were always there, shining brightly. My wife and I are huge fans of Jesus Calling for a variety of reasons, the most important of which being that it meant a great deal to her. We have always thought that God has the ability to cure her at any time and alter the course of this narrative. He did not choose to do so, but we think that He was capable of doing so, and we knew He was capable.

Whatever that meant, it was a positive sign.

To the contrary, I hope that people would see themselves more clearly in our weaknesses than they do in our previous strengths.

The entire time we’re in the car, we’re listening to her mom sing, and it’s not just singing.

It’s the best; it’s the most beautiful, heartbreaking thing that has ever happened in the world.

She didn’t merely come to this place and start a life.

It’s something I’m feeling.

Narrator: As for today’s highlighted text, it comes from the Jesus Calling audiobook’s entry for January 8th: My Presence is announced in hushed tones.

Despite the fact that I have complete control over everything in heaven and on earth, I am endlessly sensitive with you.

Allow your frailty to serve as a gateway to My Presence.

You will be safeguarded from despair and self-pity if you place your trust in Me.

The more you hold to this rope, the more I carry the weight of your burdens, and as a result, you are made lighter in your load.

Hold on to hope, and My beams of Light will find their way to you through the night.
