Jesus What A Beautiful Name Lyric

Hillsong Worship – What a Beautiful Name Official Lyrics and Chords

I’m so unexceptional, as quoted in “Talk About It” My personal abilities are nothing spectacular. I have never walked on water or calmed a storm. I have never done anything extraordinary. At times, I feel like a child who is terrified of the dark, trying to get away from the chaos around me. All things, however, are possible when I call on Jesus. I have the ability to glide on eagle’s wings. Jesus comes to mind whenever I pray. Mountains are going to crumble because He will move heaven and earth to rescue me when I call on Him for assistance.

Daughter who is broken In a relationship with someone who is widowed, You’re not alone in your thoughts and feelings.

– As if you were eagles, you may soar across the air.

Dial His phone number in the morning and late in the evening He’ll show up late in the evening.

Everything is possible when I call on Jesus’ name.

When I call on Jesus, mountains will crumble because He will move heaven and earth to come save me when I call on Him.

Is ‘What a Beautiful Name’ Biblical?

I had a minor mishap. When I sought to locate the Billboard top 100 for Christian music for my first review, I did not take the time to check the date on the chart. However, it turns out that NF’s “Let You Down” peaked at number one on October 7, 2017, rather than the day I began evaluating lyrics. As a result, I will finish my second evaluation of the number one song for the week of January 7, 2018. It is a name that is recognizable to me, Hillsong Church. Several of their pieces of music are often used in worship songs by my church.

The song What a Beautiful Name by Hillsong Worship is now ranked first on the Billboard Top 100 Christian Songs chart as of the time of writing.

Before reading this review, take the time to learn more about the Berean Test and its evaluation criteria.

1. What message does the song communicate?

The name of Jesus is a lovely, amazing, and powerful combination of letters. He is the Creator, one with the Father, a rescuer, who brings the Kingdom of God to earth, who is loving, who has beaten death, who is without rival or equal, who is the name above all names, who is a king, against whom nothing can stand. The opening lyric of Verse 2 is the source of the song’s difficulty. “You didn’t want Heaven without us,” the message reads. Despite the fact that I am convinced that Hillsong meant “You intended us to be in heaven,” the phrase has an air of man-centeredness to it, as if paradise could not exist without us.

Score:8/10

2. How much of the lyrics line up with Scripture?

Everything’s all of it! *All lyrics have been released with permission. You were the first and most important word. In John 1:1, the author of the Gospel of John makes a reference to the beginning of the Gospel. One with God, the Most High, the Almighty Jesus’ claim that “I and the Father are one in the same” (John 10:30). See John 10:30 for further information. Your undiscovered brilliance in the cosmos God’s grandeur may be found in all of His creations. See, for example, Psalm 19:1-6 and John 1:14.

  • See John 1:3, John 1:10, Colossians 1:15-16, and 1 Corinthians 8:6 for examples of biblical quotations.
  • What a lovely moniker that is as well.
  • His Hebrew given name “Yeshua” is derived from the Hebrew word “Joshua,” which means “to rescue” or “to deliver” in English.
  • In the name of Jesus Christ, my Savior and King Matthew 6:13, 1 Timothy 6:15, Revelation 1:5, Revelation 17:14, and Revelation 19:11-16 are only a few of the passages that refer to Jesus as King.
  • Isaiah 40:18-20 and Psalm 71:20-22, to name a few of probable references, are unparalleled in their significance.
  • The Lord’s Name is Jesus.
  • God desires for everyone of us to come to the knowledge of the Truth (1 Timothy 2:3-4), which is the person and work of Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

  6. References are made to Romans 8:36-39, which lists a slew of things that will not separate us from God’s love.
  7. What a beautiful name it isWhat a wonderful name it isThe Name of Jesus Christ my KingWhat a lovely name it is Wow, what a fantastic name that is.

What a fantastic name it is!

Chorus 2 is identical to Chorus 1, with the word “great” replacing the word “beautiful.” In Isaiah 9:6, there is a probable allusion to the word “wonderful” or “awesome.” Death could not keep you down.

Acts 2:24, 1 Corinthians 15:55, and Revelation 1:18 are examples of passages where this is true.

The curtain that separates the holy place from the “Holy of Holies” is referred to as a component of the Israelite temple (Exodus 26:31-35).

See Matthew 27:51, Mark 15:28, and Luke 23:45 for further information.

Death has no power over the person of Jesus Christ.

The heavens are ablaze with rage.

Because You have been brought back to life.

There are various more Bible scriptures, such as Matthew 28:1-15, Mark 16:1-13, Luke 24:1-12, John 20:1-18, Acts 1:31, 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, and others, that are mentioned.

There is no one who can compete with you.

There is nothing that compares to this.

Lines 1 and 2 of Chorus 1 and 2 are referenced again.

That which belongs to you is the kingdom.

This sentence is taken from the LORD’s request in Matthew 6:13; nevertheless, it does not occur in the oldest manuscript versions of Matthew’s Gospel.

This verse combines the principle presented in Matthew 6:13 (above) and intermixes it with Philippians 2:9, which, while slightly taken out of context, is nonetheless biblically true in its application.

What a commanding moniker that is.

Chorus 2 is the same as Chorus 1, with the word “powerful” replacing the word “beautiful” in Chorus 1 and the word “wonderful” in Chorus 2.

Nothing can stand in the way of God!

See Deuteronomy 11:25 and Proverbs 21:30 for further information.

What a commanding moniker that is. The Lord’s Name is Jesus. What a commanding moniker that is. The Lord’s Name is Jesus. What a commanding moniker that is. The Lord’s Name is Jesus. For the sake of emphasis, the phrase has been repeated. Score:10/10

3. How would an outsider interpret the song?

The name of Jesus is a lovely, amazing, and powerful combination of letters. Many people will not grasp the rest of the song unless they have studied Christianity in depth; nonetheless, the fundamental point of the song will not be lost on those who are not familiar with the religion. A common misunderstanding of the first sentence of the second Verse is that some people believe that they are more important than even God! Score:7/10

4. What does this song glorify?

While this song exalts the name of Jesus, Hillsong’s interpretation of Verse 2 may lead people to unbiblical conclusions, thereby obscuring the message. Score:8/10

Final Comments

Hillsong Worship is an incredibly beautiful name. Although it is a breath of fresh air, it is not without its challenges. It is a work of art that is rich in Scripture and that does honor to the beauty, wonder, and power that comes from the name of Jesus. While I did not come across a single sentence that was not biblically or theologically sound, the opening line of Verse 2 may lead people to a man-centeredness that is not conducive to God’s glory. Despite the depth of theology contained inside this hymn, one single sentence makes it impossible to recommend for communal worship.

Australian praise and worship groupHillsong Worship has released a new song titled ” What a Beautiful Name.” In the hymn, composed and led byBrooke Ligertwood and co-authored withBen Fielding, the promise of redemption through Jesus Christ, as represented by His Holy Name, is proclaimed and proclaimed again and again. Hillsong was voted Billboard’s Top Christian Artist of 2017 as a result of the “genre-smashing tune,” which was released in April. In 2017, the song “What a Beautiful Name” was nominated for two Dove Awards: Song of the Year and Worship Song of the Year.

The song was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2018 for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. It was released on January 6, 2017, as the lead single from the band’s 25th live album, Let There Be Light, which was released on January 6, 2017. (2016).

Background

The song “What a Beautiful Name” was written in December 2015 in Sydney, Australia, for the impending Hillsong Conference, which is an annual Christian gathering. The song’s scriptural base may be found in Hebrews 1:1–1:4, Colossians 1:15–1:20, and Colossians 1:26–1:27, among other places.

Composition

According to Hillsong Publishing’s sheet music, which can be found at Sheetmusicdirect.com, “What a Beautiful Name” has a slow pace of 68 beats per minute. The song, which was written in common time, is in the key of D major. Throughout the song, Brooke Ligertwood’s vocal range ranges from A 3 to B 4 on the scale.

Music video

During the Hillsong Conference in Sydney, a video for the song was shot, and it was published on September 30th, 2016. As of the 16th of April, 2021, the YouTube video has received more than 400 million views.

Criticism and Reception

Hillsong Worship’s “passionate, faith-based sound” was lauded by music reviewer Matt Collar, who said that fans of the group “would undoubtedly love this expressive, uplifting Christian pop.” Hillsong Worship’s music is available on iTunes. However, theologian and pastor John Piper has criticized this hymn as heresy, stating that he does not agree with the lyrics. It seems to fit too readily into a theology of a God who created because he was lonely, and then saved mankind because he was also lonely thereafter.

  1. —John Piper, in his own words Another pastor, Sam Storm, expressed criticism of the song along similar lines, but refrained from labeling it “heretical” in his remarks.
  2. Jake Gosselin attributed the song’s appeal in the Christian community to a variety of things, according to the musician.
  3. In practice, this relates to the song’s “narrow vocal range,” which is defined as “one note over an octave” in terms of pitch.
