A number of Jews at this time professed to have the ability to drive out devils, notably via the use of specific arts or charms that they claimed to have acquired from Solomon. 19:13 Exorcists I made the commitment to name – a fruitless endeavor! It is Satan’s delight to laugh at anybody who makes an attempt to evict him from the bodies or souls of mankind other than via Divine faith. All of the light of reason is little in comparison to the artistry and strength of that sensitive spirit. Neither his skill nor his might can be recognized or vanquished unless by the Spirit of God, and neither can they be overcome except by the force of faith.

It is likely that the spirit was overridden in this occasion in order to magnify the gospel proclaimed by Paul and his associates. Does Jesus Know You? Part 1

Isn’t it true that Jesus knows everyone? After all, he is an Omniscient, All-Knowing God who “searches all hearts and knows every purpose of the thoughts,” as the Bible says (1 Chronicles 28:9). According to the Bible, however, being known by Jesus entails much more than just Him being aware of everything about you and your life. And for individuals who profess to be Christians, it entails more than simply being able to talk and act in a manner consistent with their religious beliefs. What evidence do we have to support this?

Matthew 7:23 is an example of a parable. According to Matthew 7:23, many people who pretend to be Christians and perform great deeds in Jesus’ name would be scared when Jesus informs them, “I never knew you; go from Me, you who practice lawlessness,” because “I never knew you.”

Something You Don’t Want to Hear

“I had no prior knowledge of you.” Those are the kinds of words that neither you nor I want to hear. In the Bible, it is unambiguous regarding who goes to Heaven and who goes to Hell. Heaven is reserved only for those who are acquainted with Jesus. Hell, which is an eternity of pain spent isolated from God and His kindness for all time, is prepared for people who do not know God. As a result, it is critical that we understand what it means to truly be recognized by Jesus. What are the distinguishing characteristics of persons who are acquainted with Jesus?

The solutions may be found in the book of John chapter 10.

Are You Jesus’ Sheep?

When Jesus refers to Himself as the Good Shepherd in John chapter 10, he is referring to His disciples as His sheep. Do you have any idea why He used this particular illustration? Essentially helpless creatures, sheep (humans) are incapable of caring for themselves or defending themselves. They are not very intelligent, and they make poor decisions, which may lead to them getting into all kinds of difficulty and danger. They make for easy prey for their adversaries. The shepherd’s (Jesus’) care is greatly needed by the sheep (people).

He is responsible for guiding them, providing for them, healing them, and protecting them.

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know who they are, and they follow Me,” Jesus declared (John 10:27).

Jesus the Good Shepherd

15-27; John 10:3, 5, 14, 15-27; When the doorkeeper opens, the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out, they are delighted. He walks ahead of them when he puts all of his own into it, and the sheep follow him because they recognize his voice when he does. 5They will not merely follow a stranger, but rather flee from him because they do not recognize the speech of strangers.” I am the good shepherd, and I know My sheep and my sheep know Me, just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father, and I lay down My life for the sheep.

First and foremost, He has a certain herd of sheep that He is responsible for.
He is the owner of the sheep.
If we are followers of Jesus, He will call us by name and guide us.
He is intimately acquainted with us, just as God the Father is acquainted with Jesus and Jesus is acquainted with God the Father.

How Should Sheep Behave?

What are the distinguishing traits of Jesus’ flock? They can hear the voice of Jesus. They are drawn to Him because they recognize His voice. The reason they don’t follow strangers is that they don’t recognize the voice of strangers. They try to get away from strangers. They are familiar with Jesus – on a personal level. Do you want to be a sheep in Jesus’ flock? You want to be recognized by Him, don’t you? Consider the following question: Have I understood that I require Jesus’ help?

Have I repented of my sins, confessed Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and submitted myself to the care of the Holy Spirit? Is it possible that I am learning to recognize His voice as I spend time in His Word and in prayer? Is it true that I am following Him and obeying His voice?

What Does Acts 19:15 Mean? “And the evil spirit answered and said unto them, Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are ye?.”

10. This went on for another two years, on top of the previous three years. However, it seems likely that Paul made a second unrecorded voyage to Corinth during this time period, as the one documented in 2 Corinthians 12:14 and 13:1 is referred to as his third visit, which may appear to be in conflict with the previous one. As we learn from 1 Corinthians 16:8, he composed his FIRST EPISTLE TO THE CORINTHIANS near the conclusion of his extended sojourn at Ephesus, as well as (though perspectives are disputed on this point) his EPISTLE TO THE GALATIANS.

And just as his greatest success occurred after his withdrawal to a separate place of meeting at Corinth (Acts 18:7-10), so at Ephesus.

In this way, Ephesus came to be known as the “ecclesiastical center for the entire region, which it indeed continued to be for a very long length of time.” Churches sprouted in Colosse, Laodicea, and Hierapolis eastward, either as a result of his personal efforts or the efforts of his devoted companions whom he dispatched in different places, including Epaphras, Archippus, and Philemon (Colossians 1:7,4:12-17,philemon 1:11:23).

Paul intended to travel to Jerusalem once he had traveled through Macedonia and Achaia.

All of his expectations were met, despite the fact that he “saw Rome” only through the eyes of a prisoner.

He thus dispatched Timotheus and Erastus as his pioneers into Macedonia, in part to “bring them into recollection of his methods which were in Christ” (1 Corinthians 4:17,16:10), and in part to transmit his thoughts on different topics (1 Corinthians 4:17,16:10).

According to the evidence, it is highly doubtful that this Erastus was the “chamberlain of the city” of Corinth, as the title suggests (Romans 16:23).

but,c.-that is, “that is, indeed, a little concern; but there is something considerably more serious at hand.” As a result, the owners of the impoverished Pythoness cited the religious revolution that Paul was seeking to bring about in Philippi as the sole reason for their frenzied concern, in order to conceal their own self-interest, which they saw to be affected by his success (Acts 16:19-21).

The magnificent goddess Diana, whose temple was rejected and her splendor was demolished, was also destroyed, and she was worshipped across Asia and the rest of the globe – It was considered to be one of the seven wonders of the world.
and, despite being destroyed by a zealot on the night of Alexander the Great’s birth in 356 B.C., it was rebuilt with even more beauty than before.
It was built in the style of the time of the Romans.
The very location of the facility is now under question.
It was thought to have fallen from heaven, like some other well-known idols (Acts 19:35), and replicas of it were not only sold in large quantities to private individuals, but were also put up for worship in various places across the world.

It appears that some of these were sympathetic to the Gospel, at the very least were Paul’s “friends,” and, aware of the zealousness of a mob during the festivals, “sent (a message) to him requesting that he refrain from venturing himself into the theater.” The Jews shoved Alexander forward, and they dragged Alexander out of the crowd, rather than “part of the throng urged Alexander forward, with the Jews forcing him ahead,” as the verse states.

Because the Jews, who were viewed by the Romans as the perpetrators of all religious disturbances, would naturally bear the brunt of the blame for such a riot, they appear to have put forth this individual in order to absolve themselves of any involvement for the outbreak.

beckoned with his hand -compare Acts 13:16 and 21:40.would have made his defense -“offered to speak in defense” -“offered to speak in defense.” After discovering he was a Jew, they all screamed out in unison for the next two hours, proclaiming: “Great is Dianac,” which means “Great is Diana.” The mere presence of a Jew had the exact opposite effect of what was intended by the author.

Between lines 35 and 41, when the town-clerk, who was also the keeper of the public archives and a magistrate of considerable authority, had appeased -“calmed.” the people -“the multitude,” which the mere presence of such an officer would go a long way toward accomplishing.

does not realize that the city of Ephesus is a worshipper of the magnificent goddess Diana -literally, theneocorosor “warden”?” The name literally translates as “temple-sweeper,” and later as “temple-guardian.” Thirteen cities in Asia expressed an interest in the temple, but Ephesus was chosen to be in charge of it because of its strategic location.

Did they really believe that a group of itinerant orators would be able to turn everything around so quickly?
So, what exactly were they trying to accomplish by creating such a commotion?
Neither blasphemers of your goddess, nor blasphemers of your goddess – These words are a wonderful testimonial, demonstrating that the apostle, in his preaching against idolatry, had taken great care to avoid hurting the sentiments of those who heard him, as he had done at Athens.
The law is available to Demetrius against any man -rather, “the court days are being held.” and there are deputies -literally “proconsuls,” which is, most likely, the proconsul and his council, who act as a court of appeal if he has a complaint against anybody.

39. If you enquire -“have any question.”about other concerns -of a public character, you will be directed to the appropriate department. For our superiors are threatening to call into doubt the legitimacy of the public authority, which is a concern for us.

What Does Jesus Mean by ‘I Never Knew You’?

Transcript of the audio Finally, we have a great question from Singapore, sent by a listener by the name of Jia, to round out the week. “Dear Pastor John, I’d want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your service. I’d like to pose a question in response to episode 1304 concerning the story of the 10 virgins, which was broadcast earlier this week. The following is what Jesus says in Matthew 25:11–12: ‘After that, the other virgins came and cried out to the Lord, “Lord, open to us.”‘ ‘But I’m sorry to tell you that I’m not familiar with you,’ he said.

“This was especially true when the bridegroom stated, “I do not know you.””

Ten Virgins and a Bridegroom

Is there anything in these passages and the phrase “I don’t know you” that suggests that someone could be saved? Yes, it is correct. They do, in fact. They indicate that one is not eligible for salvation. “Though you regard the Lord as if he is inconsequential, you will be barred from entering the feast.” “You will not be admitted into salvation.” Allow me to take a step back and provide a little refresher. Please understand that this is a parable. A total of 10 virgins are mentioned in this account that Jesus made up.

As a result, they were to greet him when he arrived.

Five of them are negligent and do not have all they need to be prepared.

And it fails miserably.

Spiritually Awake

Here’s what we found out: And just as they were about to make their purchase, the bridegroom arrived, and those who were ready followed him into the reception hall, where the door was closed behind them. After that, the other virgins arrived, calling out, “Lord, lord, please open to us.” Instead, he said, “Truly, I tell to you, I do not know who you are.” As a result, keep an eye on the clock because you have no idea what time it is. (Matthew 25:10–13; Mark 10:10–13) The goal is to keep an eye on things.

They all slept off, both the clever and the dumb ones alike.
But remain vigilant to your Lord and to your calling: Maintain a spiritually aware state, remain alert to your calling, and remain alert to Jesus, to the Christian way of life.
Maintain a spiritually attentive and active state of mind.
You will not be let into salvation.

Excluding Judas

Here’s the closest analogue to that phrase that I can think of: Not everyone who calls out to me, “Lord, Lord,” will be admitted into the kingdom of heaven, but only those who follow the instructions of my heavenly Father. A great many people will come to me and say, “Lord, Lord,” they will say, “Didn’t we prophesy in your name, drive out demons in your name, and do many amazing wonders in your name?” And then I will say to them, “I never knew you; leave from me, you workers of lawlessness,” as if I had never known them.

“I consider you to be a spiritual stranger.” Judas would be the most appropriate person to use as an example from Jesus’ life.

In the end, he was motivated by money rather than by a desire to serve Jesus. We know this because of John 12:6. He is referred to as a thief. At the conclusion of all of Jesus’ time with him, he was expelled.

Chosen and Known

So, what exactly is the deal with this strange usage of the wordknow? “I’m not familiar with you.” “I had no idea who you were.” There is a backstory to this, as you may be aware. For example, in the Old Testament, it was virtually always used in conjunction with the word chose. “I didn’t select you,” says the author. This is seen, for example, in Amos 3:2, when God tells Israel, “You are the only ones I know out of all the families of the earth.” That didn’t rule out the possibility that Jesus was aware of the other nations.

Neither of them were accepted as his.

He hadn’t picked them out himself.

However, it is simply the plain old wordknow.

Called to Love God

The New Testament has passages such as this: “But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God,” we read (Galatians 4:9). To say that one has come to know or rather has been known by God expresses God’s initiative in enabling one to know him as follows: “How can you then turn back to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world now that you have come to know God, or rather have been known by God, how can you turn back again?” (4:9). (Galatians 4:9) The same concept is repeated in 1 Corinthians 8:3, which states, “If anybody loves God, he is recognized by God.” Oh my goodness, this means that being known by God is both a prerequisite and an enabler of your ability to love God.

Now, let us return to our parable. Unfortunately for them, they showed up late to the wedding reception of the bridegroom and his wife. In the year 2022, Benjamin Hastings, who is best known for co-writing some of Hillsong Worship’s most well-known songs, including “Praise the Name (Anatasis),” “Crowns,” “That’s the Power,” and many more, has released a fresh new track. When God looks at the state of Christianity today, I wonder which aspects of it he finds difficult to comprehend.
Moreover, given how simple it is to point the finger, I wonder if I’m not just as big of a problem as those whom I’m pointing the finger at?
I am certain, however, that the vast majority of those who belong to The Church are decent people who are simply doing their best, and it is easy to overlook this when people begin to question everything because they become so cynical in their thinking (which frustrates me an equal amount).

Do You Know Jesus

Many people have heard of Jesus and have a basic understanding of who He is. Many people celebrate His birth by singing Christmas carols, and they are aware that Easter marks His resurrection. Some see Him as a teacher, while others consider Him to be the founder of a significant international religion. But, do you have any intimate knowledge of Him? Do you realize that Jesus died and rose from the dead not to start a spiritual movement, but because He loves you and wants to offer a means for you to get to know Him better?

God made us in His image and for us to have a personal connection with Him from the beginning of time (Genesis 1:27).
We effectively choose to attempt life on our own without God, rather than living our lives for God as we were intended to do by our Creator.
Because of Him, we may know the promise of everlasting life and experience the delight of knowing God while we are still on this planet!
Following that, we acknowledge and profess that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9) and allow Him to direct our life.

Where we formerly desired to be in charge of our own destiny, we now allow Jesus into our hearts and ask him to reign as Lord over our life. Having a personal connection with Jesus is the first step in understanding God’s peace, perspective, and purpose for your life.

Recognizing the nature of the problem: Sin and separation are two concepts that are often used together. We were formed with the intent of knowing, loving, and glorifying God. Choose to go our own way and live life in wilful disobedience to God, then you are choosing to be estranged from God both now and forever. According to the Bible, we are sinners. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” 3:23 (Romans 3:23) However, God is love. According to John 3:16-17, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, that whomever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 is a biblical passage that teaches that God is love. God, on the other hand, is merely. ‘For the price of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life through faith in Jesus our Lord,’ says Paul. We cannot rescue ourselves, according to Romans 6:23. The fact that God is Holy means that He will not allow sin to come into Heaven. The majority of individuals make an effort to rescue themselves by their own efforts, good deeds, or religious participation. “There is a way that looks to be right at first glance, but in the end it leads to death,” the Bible states. Proverbs 14:12 is a verse that says We are saved by grace: The good news is that Christ died on the cross for us, despite the fact that we are sinners. We are saved by grace because God does not allow sin in Heaven. In fact, “it is by grace that you have been saved through faith – and this is not from yourselves, but is a gift from God,” Paul writes, “and not by works, so that no one may take credit for your salvation.” 2 Thessalonians 2:8-9 “However, God proves His own love for us in this: Christ died for us while we were yet sinners,” says the Bible. 5:8

Because I believe in Your love for me, as well as Jesus’ death and resurrection, I think that I may be forgiven and grow to know You better. I ask You to come into my heart and rule over my life as my Lord and Savior.

I trust You with everything and thank You for loving me so much that I can get to know You here on earth and spend the rest of eternity with You in heaven.

Instruct someone: Inform a pastor or Christian friend who will assist you in growing and discovering your skills of service. “So Christ himself gave the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, to train his people for deeds of service, in so that the body of Christ may be built up. Paul writes in Ephesians 4:11 and 12. He then commanded that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, which was their first act of obedience. Acts 10:48

Become a member of the church: The church is a place where God’s family may come together to encourage and support one another. The joy and pleasure that comes from God’s people living in harmony is immeasurable! The first verse of Psalm 133:1. Every day, pray and read your Bible: Using His Word and prayer, God communicates His will for your life to you and helps you to live it. The light of your word serves as a candle for my feet and a beacon for my path.” Seek a godly tutor, according to Psalm 119:105: A mentor instructs you on the ways of God and how to live a holy life in the presence of God. “In the same way, educate the elder women to be respectful in their way of life, not to be slanderers or addicted to excessive amounts of drink, but to teach what is right.” Titus 2:3
