How To Draw Baby Jesus In Manger

How To Draw Baby Jesus In A Manger – Nativity

To date, this lesson on how to draw Baby Jesus is my favorite of the series so far. We conducted this lesson for the first time five years ago, but I thought it would be great fun to sketch him once more. When it comes to buying and wishing for gifts, my children (and I) are easily distracted (as is the case for me as well). So spending this time drawing with my son Austin and talking about the true meaning of Christmas was a real pleasure for me. We also had a lengthy conversation away from the camera.

And, while I recognize that not everyone holds the same beliefs as we do, I felt it was important to pass along this lesson to others.

Merry Christmas to you!

Nativity Drawing Game

This is a simple sketching game that may be enjoyed by the whole family or with friends. It’s a fantastic opportunity to spend quality time with your family while also having a good time and creating memories.

How to Play

Instruct the players to represent the Nativity using just stick figures and basic drawings. The individual who provides the most specifics wins. Consider awarding a point for each object illustrated that would be found in a traditional Nativity scene. It will be interesting to see how everyone responds. You could come across the following (but please don’t provide any sketching ideas):

  • Angel
  • Mary
  • Joseph
  • Donkey
  • Manger
  • Baby Jesus
  • Shepherds
  • Sheep
  • Cow
  • Star
  • Wiseman
  • Gold
  • Frankincense
  • Myrrh

Game Variations

In this form of the game, you draw one portion of the nativity scene (the stable, Joseph, Mary, and the infant Jesus) and then pass it on to the next person, who then draws their own piece from the scene. As soon as everyone has completed their drawings, they may take turns reading what they have created aloud! Despite the fact that you’ll be amazed at how funny this little game may get, keep your laughing to yourself so that you don’t wake up baby Jesus!

Drawing on the Head

Have you ever played the game using paper plates? In order to play this game, each player will need a pen and a thick paper plate (not styrofoam). Instruct everyone to place the plate on top of their heads with the instructions that it is an artistic competition to see who can follow these basic procedures the most accurately by sketching what you want them to do! It is critical that you do not remove your masterpiece until everyone has completed their Christmas artwork according to the Instructions provided by the teacher.

  1. Make the stable’s walls and roof out of construction paper. Draw a picture of Jesus’ infant in a manger within the stable. Draw Mary and Joseph with the baby Jesus in their arms
  2. Make a star in the sky by drawing a line through it. Make a drawing of some farm animals.

Here’s how to get points:

  • If the walls and roof of the stable are touching each other, the score is one point. If the infant Jesus is inside the stable, you get two points
  • If the star is over the stable’s roof, you get two points. 1 point if the star is touching the roof
  • Unfortunately, no points are awarded if the star is below the roof. If you drew Mary and Joseph inside the stable, you’d get 2 points. 1 point for each animal that is drawn
