How I Used My Cell Phone to Call Up Jesus.

Hello World, Last November, I got my first smart phone! (I know, I’m a very slow adopter of new technology plus I’m very frugal…) Although that was a few months ago, I’m still learning how to use all of its functions… One function that still puzzles me is the voice recognition function… I guess I could read the manual to figure this all out, but for some reason, I don’t particularly care to read manuals unless I need to refer to them to trouble shoot… So on Thursday as I was on the road trying to get to various locations for my job as a reporter, I was feeling very stressed out… I was running behind schedule and I have to make a daily deadline so time is very important.

I was grappling with traffic which can be horrendous in the metro Atlanta area.

I also needed to answer a lot of other important e-mail messages but couldn’t get to them because I was driving… None of this was a life or death matter, but I have found that sometimes the daily accumulation of a lot of little things can have you feeling more anxious than the huge things that can happen… When something really bad happens, it is almost easier to cope with that because there is nothing else to do… But when a whole lot of minor to somewhat important things are vying for our attention, it’s hard to know what to tackle first… So I decided to confess Scriptures to get my right… I said out loud as I was driving… Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

My husband was suffering from cancer, and there was nothing I could do to help him get better.

As I called out to Jesus, I was overwhelmed by an unbearable sense of panic.

His presence was all about me, and serenity washed over me as a result of my decision to dial His phone number when I needed Him the most.

This is a line that is never busy, the connection is always strong, and there are no costs associated with using it.” It doesn’t matter how large or tiny our prayers appear to be; He always responds to us in our natural state.

“I think I’ve figured out what Jesus’ phone number is now,” Daniel said with a grin.

This was a huge letdown. I have stopped using the product till the problem is resolved. THE WAY IT SHOULD BE LIVING IN DEPENDENCE ON ME is the only way to live a full and fulfilling life. Due to the increased awareness of My Presence that comes with difficult circumstances, you are beginning to cherish them. Tasks that you used to detest are now rich chances for you to experience My proximity more fully. When you’re feeling down, you remember that I am your source of strength, and you find joy in leaning on Me.

What’s next, Lord? I recall sitting in a room full of swiveling chairs as I approached the end of my last semester of college and thinking to myself. It may be an exhilarating topic to ask, filled with amazement at the vast number of locations and peoples available in a globe that is always expanding. The query, though, might also be accompanied by apprehension: “No, honestly, what is next, Lord?” Six years after graduating from college, my husband and I stood in front of a room of college seniors, each in their own swivel chair.

With the benefit of hindsight, it’s simple to conclude that God faithfully guided us from one thing to the next, gently opening and closing numerous doors for us throughout our journey.
Alternatively, it may be that there were no doors to pick from at all.
We hoped Jesus had put up a few billboards to point us in the right direction, but He didn’t do anything like that.
And I say this because I believe many young adult Christians on the verge of graduation, as well as anybody else going through a period of Big Life Decisioning, are concerned that they will make the incorrect choice.
