Who Touched Me?

At that moment, Jesus became aware that his healing power had been channeled away from him.He turned around amid the throng and said, ″Who touched my robe?″ Make a note of 5:30 p.m.When Jesus encountered the Gerasene demoniac in the preceding part of Mark, he acted in ways that were perplexing, if not downright upsetting, to those who observed him.

When the Gospel of Mark moves on to the following episode, which is a double-healing account that moves into uncharted terrain since one of the healings is really a resurrection, the puzzlement only grows more complicated and frustrating.The beginning of this narrative comes when a synagogue leader begs Jesus to heal his daughter, who is dying of an unknown ailment at the time.Jesus agreed to accompany the leader, and the two of them set off towards his house, with a big throng trailing after them.Suddenly, a lady in the throng reached out her hand and quietly touched Jesus’ garment, hoping that doing so would enable her to be healed of an illness that had plagued her for years.

In fact, she was instantaneously restored to health.
Although she believed she had been healed in secret, her hopes were crushed when Jesus inquired, ″Who touched my robe?″ (5:30).
My favorite reaction to the disciples, who took Jesus’ words literally and felt he was making a joke out of them.
With everyone crowding around Jesus, a large number of people were reaching out and caressing his garment.
So what’s the point of asking, ″Who touched my robe?″ Although the lady who had been cured could not understand why Jesus was asking this question, both Jesus and the woman understood the answer.

Not only was Jesus asking her to show herself to him, but he was also asking her to reveal herself to the entire crowd.We don’t know anything about the woman’s motivation for wanting to get cured in secret.However, it is likely that she was motivated in part by the knowledge that by touching Jesus, she would render him ritually unclean.

This is not something that should be done to a Jewish holy man, in my opinion.
The cured lady undoubtedly anticipated that Jesus would be enraged with her and that the multitude would criticize her for bringing Jesus’ ceremonial position into disrepute.
Upon falling before Jesus, trembling with terror in her heart, the woman confessed what she had done.

To this Jesus answered with a simple ″Daughter, your faith has healed you.″ Please go in peace.
″Your agony has come to an end.″ There is no hint of filthiness.
There will be no rage.
Nothing except positive reinforcement and excellent news.
So what was it about this woman that prompted Jesus to call her out and bring her actions into the light?

In part, he was attempting to soothe her by addressing her as ″Daughter,″ which was a more personal address.In part, Jesus wished to elevate Mary to the status of a model of faith.And, in part, he wanted everyone to know that she had been healed and returned to her rightful place as a contributing member of their society.

Physical healing provided the impetus for a more profound and comprehensive rehabilitation.
QUESTIONS FOR THOUGHT APPLICATION: Are there any times when you’ve felt like the woman in this narrative, desperate to reach out to Jesus in desperation.

What ways has Jesus restored wholeness to your life?PRAYER: As I read this narrative, a part of me recognizes myself in the characters of the disciples.There are so many moments when I’m not entirely sure what you’re trying to accomplish.I’m sure I’ve put my foot in my mouth hundreds of times when talking with you.

Hundreds of thousands, or even tens of thousands You, on the other hand, continue to be in a relationship with me, patiently and kindly guiding me through my journey.Thank you very much!There is another aspect of me that has a connection to this woman.Despite the fact that I have never been in her identical circumstance, there have been several occasions when I have cried out to you in despair.

Thank you, Lord, for being there for me when I needed you.Thank you for being my Savior, my healer, and my ray of hope in this dark world.You have treated me in the same manner that you treated the woman in this narrative.You’ve asked for a lot more than I anticipated.

Mark 6: Touching the robe of Jesus to ‘be whole’

In order to be healed, what does one need to do? A group of students from my campus ministry had shown an interest in seeing a church’s performance of the narrative of Jesus’ life, which was rather complex. A catwalk connected the two stages of this massive show, which were located on opposite ends of the structure. The audience members sat on each side of the catwalk and remained transfixed as the performers chronicled the life of Jesus from his birth through his death and subsequent resurrection. In one of the sequences while Jesus was in his public ministry with the disciples, the actor who played Jesus walked across the catwalk from one side of the room to the other, as seen in the video above. At that time, a member of the crowd dashed to the catwalk, hoisted herself up, and grabbed the back of the actor’s robe from behind him. The players continued to work on the production, and the woman reappeared as well. I recall thinking at the time that this was ″abnormal conduct″ or perhaps that it was manufactured as part of the performance. But that was then. Seriously, touching an actor’s outfit is a bad idea. Alternatively, is there more to this than I first thought? The Gospels contain several tales of Jesus curing people who were suffering from a variety of ailments. The majority of the cases, Jesus physically touches the individual or takes some other direct action that results in healing. But what about the healings that occur ″indirectly″? In Luke 8, there is a story of a lady who touched the cloak of Jesus, believing that she would be healed as a result. It was in such situation that Jesus sensed power gushing out of him and inquired as to who had touched his garment. When the lady answered, Jesus told her that it was ″her faith″ that had healed her. The chapter from Mark 6 that is included in the Revised Common Lectionary for the 22nd Sunday in July provides us a look into Jesus’ ministry and healing. The people have heard that Jesus can heal them, and they are on the lookout for him. Jesus even attempts to take a break with his followers, but the crowds track him down and capture him. In addition, it involves more than just Jesus directly curing individuals. There is something else going on here. The incident is stated as follows in Mark 6:53-56: ″When they had gone over, they landed at Gennesaret and moored there.″ As soon as they stepped out of the boat, everyone recognized Jesus as the Messiah. They went across the entire region, carrying the ill on mats to the location where they had heard he was hiding. And wherever he went, whether it was into villages, cities, or the countryside, the sick were placed in the markets. They pleaded with him to allow them to even touch the edge of his garment, and everyone who touched it received healing.″ (Mark 6:53-56, New International Version) This passage can be summarized in the following way: Those in need were able to recognize Jesus because of his appearance. People in need were willing to travel to wherever Jesus and his disciples landed
those in need wanted to touch the edge of Jesus’ robe and were healed
those in need wanted to touch the edge of Jesus’ robe and were healed

All of these things are at the center of the Gospel, and they are intertwined (Good News of Jesus).But, what exactly does it mean to be cured?Healing can refer to a variety of different things, including being physically healed of a disease.

Healing, on the other hand, has a slightly different meaning in the context of this chapter.It implies that those who came close to Jesus’ edge were ″made whole.″ ″Made whole″ can refer to bodily healing, emotional healing, and spiritual healing, all of which can occur via a relationship with Jesus.In this chapter from Mark, individuals who were in need of healing had to believe that Jesus could cure them, and they had to be prepared to do the action of touching Jesus in order to be ″made whole.″ It’s important to remember that in the narrative from Luke 6, Jesus stated that the lady who was cured by touching his garment was made whole because of her faith.So, what does this mean for the rest of us?

We find ourselves in a variety of circumstances when we require healing and restoration.
It can manifest itself in the form of illness, which can be physical, mental, and/or spiritual in nature.
Because of our sin, broken relationships, blunders, worries, and uncertainties, we might be rendered less than completely whole.
What is asked of us is a willingness to reach out and touch the hem of Jesus’ garment on a number of occasions.
We must believe that Jesus is the only one who has the ability to restore us to wholeness in order to perform that deed.

For whatever reason, how many of us today are ″less than whole″ because we refuse or are unable to reach out and seek that wholeness with Jesus, regardless matter how much we want or need to?Perhaps there was something more going on that day at the Jesus play when the woman bolted from the audience.Is it possible that it wasn’t about touching the outfit of someone who was purporting to be Jesus after all?

Isn’t it possible that this was merely the external and public representation of what this individual felt deep down inside?
Do you feel like you need to ″be complete″ today?
The first step is to have enough faith in Jesus that you can reach out and touch his robe.

As a matter of fact, it’s a lot closer to us than we would imagine.

The Woman Who Touched Jesus’ Garment (Mark 5:21-34)

21 And when Jesus was brought back over the sea by ship to the other side, a large crowd gathered around him, and he was almost touching the water. Then there came a man named Jairus, who was one of the synagogue’s rulers, who saw Jesus and fell at his feet, 23 and pleaded with him earnestly, saying, ″My little daughter is on the verge of death: I beseech thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed
and she shall live.″ And Jesus went with him, as did a large crowd that had gathered around him. 25 And a certain woman, who had been suffering from an issue of blood for twelve years, 26 and had endured many things from many physicians, and had spent everything she had, and had seen no improvement, but had rather gotten worse, 27 when she heard about Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. 28 For she said that if she could just touch his clothing, she would be healed. She felt in her body that she had been healed of the disease immediately after the spring of her blood had dried up
and Jesus, immediately realizing in himself that virtue had been sucked out of him, turned around in the crowd and said, ″Who touched my clothes?″ 31 And his disciples replied to him, ″You see the throngs of people swarming around you, and you say, ″Who touched me?″ ″Who touched me?″ 32 And he turned around to search for the person who had done this to himself. 33 But the lady, terrified and trembling, realizing what had happened to her, came and fell down before him, telling him all that had happened. His words to her were: ″Daughter, your faith has made thee well
depart in peace, and be free of thy plague
″ and she was healed.

Jesus’ Amazing Healing Powers

When the narrative of Jarius’ daughter (covered above) begins, it is cut short by a second story about a sick lady who heals herself by seizing a piece of Jesus’ robe (also described elsewhere).Jesus’ ability to heal the ill is a recurrent motif in the gospels in general, and notably in Mark’s gospel.Both accounts concern Jesus’ ability to heal the sick.

In addition, this is one of several instances in which Mark ″sandwiches″ two storylines together.For the second time, Jesus’ renown has preceded him, as seen by the throngs of people who want to speak with or at the very least see him.One can only image the difficulties Jesus and his disciples had navigating their way through the masses.Meanwhile, one could argue that Jesus is being stalked: there is a woman who has been suffering from a problem for twelve years and who plans to utilize Jesus’ healing talents to get well.

What exactly is her issue?
Although it is not explicitly stated, the term ″a problem with blood″ indicates a menstruation problem.
As a menstrual woman was regarded as ″unclean″ among the Jews, this would have been quite significant.
Being seen as constantly unclean for twelve years couldn’t have been pleasant, even if the condition itself wasn’t physically harmful.
As a result, we have a person who is not only suffering from a bodily ailment but also from a theological ailment.

As a result, she does not approach Jesus to seek for his assistance, which makes logical given her belief that she is filthy.Instead, she joins the group of people who are pushing up to him and touches his clothes.This, for some reason, is effective.

Just by touching Jesus’ garment, she is instantly healed, as if Jesus had infused his clothing with his power or that his fabric is leaking beneficial energy.
Because we are looking for a ″natural″ answer, this appears weird to our eyes.
In first-century Judea, on the other hand, everyone believed in supernatural beings with powers and talents that were beyond human comprehension.

The thought of being able to touch a holy person or even simply their clothing in order to be cured would not have seemed strange, and no one would have questioned whether there were any ″leaks″ or not.
Why does Jesus inquire as to who has touched him?
It’s an odd question, and even his devotees believe he’s being silly by posing it in the first place.
They are encircled by a throng of people who are pressuring him to come meet them right now.
Who had a hand in Jesus’ life?

Everyone did it at least twice, if not three times.Of course, this raises the question of why this specific woman was cured in the first place.Perhaps she was not the only one among her peers who was suffering from anything at the time.

Even if it was merely an ingrown toenail, there must have been at least one other person who was suffering from something that could be fixed.
It is Jesus who provides the answer: she was healed not because Jesus desired to heal her or because she was the only one who needed healing, but rather because she had confidence in him.
As has been the case in prior instances of Jesus curing someone, it eventually comes down to the level of their faith in order to establish whether or not recovery is feasible.
This shows that while there was a large number of individuals who came to meet Jesus, it is possible that not everyone had confidence in him.

Or perhaps they were only there to watch the latest faith healer perform a few tricks, not really believing in what was going on, but content to be delighted regardless.The ill lady, on the other hand, had faith, and as a result, she was cured of her ailments.There was no requirement to make sacrifices or rites, nor was there any requirement to follow elaborate laws.In the end, having the correct kind of faith was all that was required for her to be exonerated of her imputed uncleanliness.

Obviously, this would be an area of distinction between Judaism and Christianity.

Galilee: The Woman Who Was Healed by a Touch

Said, ″Daughter, your faith has brought forth your healing.″ You may depart in tranquillity, free of your anguish.″ – Mark 5:34 (NIV) It is impossible to comprehend what life was like in Israel during the time of Jesus in our current civilization.The Jews suffered horribly under Roman authority, both physically and emotionally, as well as spiritually and psychologically.These nasty, violent dictators exploited every chance to beat their victims into obedience.

The Romans were no exception.Those who held a negative view of the Jewish faith believed that it was inferior to their polytheistic worldview.The Romans, on the other hand, were detested by the Jews because of their heavy taxation, their ″unclean″ society, and their pagan religious beliefs.And, perhaps most importantly, the Jews despised the Romans’ full control over their everyday lives and religious practices.

Every Jew’s daily life was an act of faith in some way or another.
It was their daily struggle to observe not just the Torah, or Mosaic law, but also the additional six-hundred-plus man-made regulations placed on them by the Pharisees and Sadducees, which took up the majority of their waking hours.
We can’t conceive the toll that such a legalistic load would take on a person’s daily life.
There was no way anyone could be clean or holy enough, or without a blemish before God in the presence of such self-righteous authorities.
The Pharisees and Sadducees, on the other hand, went to tremendous lengths to demonstrate their intellectual and spiritual superiority in front of the people.

The most harsh words of Jesus were reserved for these individuals.He warned the professors of the law and Pharisees in Matthew 23:27: ″Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, hypocrites!″ You are like to whitewashed tombs, which appear lovely on the surface but are filled with the bones of the dead and everything else that is dirty on the inside.Jesus came to lighten the hardships that the Jewish people were bearing at the time.

Matthew 11:28-30 tells us that He invites everyone who are weary and burdened to come to Him and He would give them peace.
As you take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, remember that I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find peace for your hearts in doing so.
Because My yoke is simple, and My burden is light, you may rest assured.

It’s no surprise that the people’s hearts soared as they listened to Him teach!
No one else in their world had ever spoken to them with such words of life, hope, and compassion.
What a beautiful love!
The words of Jesus continue to have the same impact on those whose hearts are open to His delicate message of grace even now.
Possibly no one in the ancient world yearned for Jesus’ message of grace more intensely than the women of first-century Israel did.

When studying ancient history, it is critical to consider the position of women.They were severely restricted in their liberties as a result of Jewish law and custom.They were essentially restricted to their father’s or husband’s home, and they possessed no independent power of any kind.

Women were regarded inferior to males during this historical period, and they were even barred from testifying in court cases since they were not thought to be trustworthy witnesses.
They were treated as second-class citizens, barred from participating in male religious rituals and having no more status than slaves.
In contrast, Jesus continually indicated that He had a great deal of regard and appreciation for women.
It is in Mark 5 that I find one of my favorite examples of Jesus’ compassion for women, when He heals a lady whose monthly cycle had caused her to suffer for twelve years.

She touched the hem of His garment (which was a huge breach of the law as a woman), and He broke the law by speaking to her in public: And there was a lady present who had been subjected to bleeding for a period of twelve years.While under the care of several physicians, she had endured a tremendous lot of suffering and spent everything she had, but instead of getting better, she had become worse.The first time she heard about Jesus, she walked up behind Him in the crowd and touched His cloak, believing that if she merely touched His clothing, she would be healed.Her bleeding stopped immediately, and she had a physical sensation in her body that she had been liberated from her misery.

Jesus recognized right away that His power had been taken away from Him.″Who touched my clothes?″ he inquired as he turned around amid the swarm of onlookers.Despite the fact that you can see the crowds swarming about you, His followers responded that you may still inquire, ″Who touched Me?″ However, Jesus continued to glance around to discover who had done it.When the lady realized what had occurred to her, she rushed to Him and fell at His feet, trembling with dread, and told Him all that had happened to her.

″Daughter, your faith has cured you,″ he told her, referring to her faith.You may depart in tranquillity, free of your anguish.″ from Mark 5:25 to Mark 5:34 When it comes to this narrative of Jesus’ love for the lady who had a problem with blood, Rabbi Jason has some great thoughts.Come…to the land of Galilee!

Yeshua rose to his feet and proceeded to follow him, accompanied by His followers.Just at that moment, a lady who had been bleeding for twelve years approached from behind and touched the tzitzit of His robe.It’s because she was constantly telling herself, ″If only I touch His robe, I would be healed.″ But then Yeshua noticed her and turned around.

″Take heart, daughter,″ He encouraged, noting that ″your faith has healed you.″ The woman was cured at precisely the same time.– Matthew 9:19-22 (TLV) TLV A lady who had been bleeding profusely for twelve years reached out and snatched the hem of Jesus’ robe from the ground.″Someone touched Me, and I know that the power has been taken away from Me,″ Jesus stated in response (Luke 8:46).Realizing she couldn’t conceal any longer, the lady ″came trembling and fell at His feet,″ explaining Jesus why she had touched Him and how she had been instantaneously cured.

The woman who was bleeding had every cause to be concerned.
Even among observant Jews, touching a guy, even one’s husband, in public was and continues to be regarded as impolite and unacceptable for religious reasons.
More concerningly, this lady was ritually unclean and was capable of spreading her impurity to everyone who came into contact with her (Leviticus 15:25–27).
As a result of taking such a risk, she may have faced terrible repercussions.
This lady, on the other hand, was desperate.

Imagine not hearing from your family or friends for a period of twelve years.She had been living for more than a decade in a permanent state of humiliation as an outcast who had been ostracized from the social and spiritual life of her community, and she had no intention of changing.She decided to take a large risk since she believed she had nothing to lose.

When she placed her hand on the hem of Jesus’ robe, she received immediate healing!
Despite the fact that her touch rendered Jesus ritually unclean, Mary was made clean and, more significantly, entire again.
The lady’s terror is highlighted in the next passage: ″The woman, realizing what had happened to her, came and fell at His feet, trembling with dread, and told Him the full thing″ (Mark 5:33).

Note also the gentleness with which Jesus responded: ″Daughter, your faith has cured you.
″I bid you farewell″ (Mark 5:34).
That Jesus treated women in such a fundamentally different manner from the other males of His day is seen here.
Rather of becoming irritated with her, as would have been expected of a rabbi or Levitical priest in such situation, He congratulated her for her faith.
But, of course, there is more to it than that!

A crucial feature in this text that is sometimes forgotten is the fact that the woman touched ″the edge of his coat″ (Matthew 9:20).She did not only brush up against His fringe, but also His tzitzit, the ritual tassels that are inserted on each corner (kanaf, in Hebrew) of every four-cornered garment, as well.In the book of Numbers, these tzitzit are described as follows: ″Speak to the children of Israel,″ Adonai instructed Moses.

Tell them that they must sew tzitzit on the corners of their clothing for themselves and their descendants for the rest of their lives, and that they must attach a blue cord to each tzitzit they create.
It will be your own tzitzit, so that whenever you look at them, you will recall all of Adonai’s mitzvot and carry them out, rather than going off to spy after your own hearts and eyes and prostituting yourselves.
You will remember and follow all of My mitzvot in this manner, and you will be holy in the eyes of your God.
My name is Adonai, and I am your God.

I took you out of Egypt to be your God, and I am still your God.″I am Adonai your God,″ says the Lord.– Numbers 15:37-41 in the Hebrew Bible The purpose of these tzitzit was to serve as a reminder to Israel to diligently follow the Lord by keeping His commands.It is no accident that they were to be put on each of the garment’s four corners.

There is a direct line from the garden of Eden back to the source of all sin.When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, the outcome was exile for them and all of their children for generations to come.The condition of continual alienation and isolation that comes with living in exile is one that can lead to death if not addressed immediately and effectively.Exile has four distinct aspects: the spiritual, the emotional, the relational, and the physical.

The number four is also associated with the hope of redemption from exile, according to certain sources.″I will bring you out,″ ″I will deliver you,″ ″I will redeem you,″ and ″I will take you to Myself″ are the four aspects of redemption found in Exodus 6:6-7 (TLV) that are represented by the four cups of wine at the Passover Seder (see ″An Overview of God’s Appointed Feasts″ on page 142).At the time of the last redemption, the Lord will ″raise a banner for the nations, and unite the scattered of Israel, and gather the scattered of Judah from the four corners of the world,″ according to Isaiah (Isaiah 11:12 TLV).A messianic promise also exists, which promises, For those who honor My Name, the sun of justice will rise with healing in its wings.

– Malachi 3:20 (TLV) The Hebrew word for ″wings″ in this passage literally translates as ″corner,″ and it is the same term that is used to refer to the tassels on the four corners of the tent, which are known as the arba kanfot in Hebrew.The lady reached out and grasped one of the four ″wings″ of Jesus’ tunic, which he was wearing at the time.This bleeding woman had been living in exile on all four planes of reality for quite some time.No physical touch with family and friends, no ability to openly pray at the temple, she was secluded and alone in her daily life.She also suffered from a chronic condition of bodily agony.But she discovered a fourfold healing by touching one of the four corners of Jesus’ robe, and thus she became an illustration of the messianic redemption that we may begin to experience right now as we reach out and touch Him!

Like her, we must have the faith to boldly reach out and seize the Lord so that we might find help and healing in our time of need.Just like the woman with the problem of blood was seen as filthy, many religious authorities in Jesus’ day saw the Gentile countries as unclean and unfit.This perspective was due to the fact that the nations of the world were pagan at this time, and their cultures were dominated by idolatry, bloodshed, and sexual immorality.Despite this, Jesus had a very different view of Gentiles.He did not focus on their sin but on God’s promise of redemption for all people.Just like the woman who grabbed hold of Him and found personal redemption, one day all the nations of the world will do the same.

As the prophet Zechariah wrote: Many peoples and powerful nations will come to seek Adonai-Tzva’ot in Jerusalem, and to entreat the favor of Adonai.” Thus says Adonai-Tzva’ot, “In those days it will come to pass that ten men from every language of the nations will grasp the corner of the garment of a Jew saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’” (Zechariah 8:22-23 tlv) One day all peoples will grab hold of the Lord by attaching themselves to God’s people.When this happens, exile will end and the world will be healed!On a more personal and practical level, women were not seen as equal to Jewish men.

But Jesus and the New Testament make it clear that “there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female — for you are all one in Messiah Yeshua” (Galatians 3:28 TLV) (Galatians 3:28 TLV).This does not mean there are no longer any differences or distinctions between men and women or Gentiles and Jews; rather, it implies a spiritual equality.There are no second-class citizens in God’s kingdom.Excerpted with permission from The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi by Kathie Lee Gifford, copyright Kathy Lee Gifford.

The Woman Touches Jesus’ Garment (King James Version)

Written by the Rev.William Woofenden ″Thy faith has restored thee to wholeness.″ 22nd verse of Matthew 9:22 The following passages are recommended: Isaiah 26:1-14; Matthew 9:14-31.We think back to the time period of our text.

A lady who had been suffering from an issue of blood for twelve years walked up to the Lord from among the crowds who were following Him and touched His garment, and she was instantly healed.As reported in the Bible, she thought to herself, ″If I can only touch His robe, I will be healed.″ ″Daughter, be of good comfort, for thy faith hath made thee whole,″ the Lord said, turning around and recognizing her.It was the Lord’s intention to perform outer miracles in order to demonstrate what He desired to do in the souls of humanity.The blood of the Lord’s Supper represents truth in the same way that the bread represents goodness in the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper because of their correspondence.

The shedding of blood symbolizes the loss of truth, which leads in weakness and the loss of strength for the protagonist.
This is a depiction of the situation of the world during the time of the painting.
Even among people who wished to do good, there was a diminishing ability to know what to do and how to accomplish it.
And so it is with each and every one of us.
No one is capable of curing the ailments of the soul on his or her own.

They can only be cured by the Lord.What appears to be impossible with man is made feasible by God.As soon as the lady placed her hand on the hem of the Lord’s robe, virtue poured forth from Him, and she was instantly healed.

When we hear the phrase ″a wolf in sheep’s clothes,″ we immediately understand what is meant.
Our feelings are clothed in the thoughts that we have.
The outer clothes of the Lord represent His ideas as they have been revealed to us via the letter of the Word, and the hem of this outer garment represents the Commandments, which summarize and hold everything else together.

The woman’s appearance from behind the Lord has a symbolic significance, as well.
It represents the feelings of inadequacy and unworthiness, as well as the faith in His Divine Mercy.
This external touch brings her into God’s presence, and her health is healed as a result of her being brought into God’s presence.
″Thy faith hath made thee whole,″ the narrator informs her.
What exactly is faith?

Faith is a person’s trust in the Lord that they have in themselves.Without faith, it is impossible to accomplish any kind of spiritual advancement.It is a childish trust in the truth and in the goodness of the Lord that characterizes it.

We look to the Lord rather than to ourselves because we have trust in Him.
It is a firm confidence in the truths of the Scriptures.
The Hebrew word for faith is a combination of the words steadfastness, fidelity, and honesty.
Faith is actually a firm belief in the truth as revealed in God’s Word, or the Bible.

It is not something we are born with and must learn to use through time.When we study and understand Divine truths, love them in our hearts, and act them out in our lives, we are forming it in ourselves.It is taught in these lines that the truth must be grasped and obeyed ″When anybody hears the word of the kingdom but does not comprehend it, the wicked one comes and takes away that which was sown in his heart by the evil one.This is the individual who was given seed on the side of the road.″ Faith is not just a matter of intellect; it is also a matter of the will.

There must be a passion for the truth.There can be no faith, and there can be no salvation, unless this occurs.Knowledge is a necessary component of faith, but knowledge alone does not constitute faith.There must be truth, and the first big fact of faith is that God exists, which is the first great truth of all.

Faith, on the other hand, expands with each new truth from the Word that is absorbed in the heart.At first, it appears to be quite little and feeble.In certain circles, it’s likened to a grain of mustard seed, which is considered to be the smallest of all seeds.However, it possesses a remarkable vitality, and after it has been valued and cared, it begins to develop and eventually matures into a magnificent tree in the midst of which all the birds of heaven may build their nests.

As a result, faith is a developing principle: the more we hear and comprehend the Word, the more fervent our faith will become.Thus, the disciples prayed to the Lord, imploring him to strengthen their faith.And we read about people who were strong in their faith, as well as about those who were weak, as well as about those who had great faith and those who had little faith, which teaches us that faith evolves and increases as truth and love increase in the world.″Charity (or love, as it should be interpreted) rejoiceth not in wickedness, but rejoiceth in the truth,″ the Apostle Paul writes.This is something that the parable of the Sower teaches.There were many different types of ground where the seed was sowed, but only the seeds that fell on excellent ground developed and produced fruit.

The light, as the Lord stated, comes to those who love and do good.They believe in the light and are filled with joy as a result of their actions.In his teachings, Jesus stated, ″He who believes in me has eternal life.″ This implies that the living principle of love for the truth is already present in the heart of anybody who believes in the Lord.When the lady thought to herself, ″if I can only touch the hem of His robe, I will be healed,″ she said to herself.We are not to consider the love that is at the heart of religion to be a simple sentimental feeling.’If you love Me, observe My commandments,’ Jesus replied to them.

″He who does not love Me does not obey My commandments.″ Love that does not uphold the commandments is not really love; it is only emotion on the surface.Faith that is real in whatever way has its roots in love and bears the fruits of good deeds as evidenced by their fruits.When you have true faith, you believe with a childlike trust in the love and power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

It cries, ″Like Peter, who among the Apostles embodies faith,″ as if he were the only one ″Who, Lord, do you want us to go?Thou hast the universe of eternal existence at thy disposal.″ Faith is putting our faith in the Lord rather than in ourselves.I believe it is the knowledge and belief that He is with us and that He has the ability to allow us to stand, to conquer all those things inside us that stand in the way of eternal pleasure and serenity.Ultimately, it tells us that all of our undesirable and incorrect wants and beliefs can and will be defeated.

″Thou shalt tread under foot the lion and the adder, the young lion and the dragon,″ the Bible says.
This faith, which at first appears to be as insignificant as a grain of mustard seed, is a living germ that has been placed in the soul of every person by his Creator, and which will develop as we study and obey the Commandments, until it defends and blesses the entire spectrum of human existence.
It will bless and protect our friendships; it will bless and protect our homes, transforming them into centers of virtues and graces; it will bless and protect our businesses; it will bless and protect our places of worship; and it will bless and protect our joys.
A life lit by religion gains a sense of confidence, calm, and charm that were before unavailable.

This becomes the soul’s official language when it proclaims, ″The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.″ It says in the Bible, ″He makes me lie down in green pastures and He leads me alongside quiet rivers.″ Whether we like it or not, we may have to go through a valley of natural sorrows and sufferings.Despite the fact that we may be attacked by both internal and external opponents, we may take comfort in the fact that God is with us ″No weapon created against thee will be successful, and every tongue that rises up against thee in judgment shall be condemned by thee.These things belong to the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is a gift from Me, says the Lord, who also says″ It is possible that our unsubdued iniquities would grow to such enormous proportions that we will feel as though we are ″Grasshoppers in their sight.″ Despite the fact that we may be afraid of meeting them, faith calms our concerns and says with Caleb and Joshua, ″Let us go up immediately and seize it, for we are fully capable of overcoming it.″ Faith is the one thing that can conquer all of our doubts and concerns.Death’s personality is likewise altered as a result of this.The Lord’s guarantee, ″I am going to prepare a place for you,″ is joyously accepted by faith, which views the end of one’s life as the entrance to a brighter world, the ″kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.″ Good works are produced by faith that is rooted in love.Unless it does this, it is not faith in the traditional sense of the word.

We all agree that, in the regular issues of life, what a man acts reflects what he believes about those matters.If a person claims friendliness with his tongue but exhibits animosity with his actions, we trust the actions.This is the straightforward and unambiguous rule.Man’s actions reflect his true beliefs, and all of his professed beliefs to the contrary are swindles on his part.

To be a doer of good acts, one must be a doer of bad works, and to believe in evil actions implies that one believes in the evil done by others.
He may feel that good works would be improved if his own selfish goals were vanquished and his manner of life modified, but he is unable to give up his vices because he loves them too much to do so.
The wicked man’s life is defined by his beliefs; but, he may delude himself into believing that his faith is correct despite the fact that his behavior is incorrect.
Faith that has an impact on a person’s dialogue but has no impact on his or her life is a lifeless faith, not a live faith.

This is the type of faith that a wicked person would have.He may appear to be an angel, but in reality he is merely the larger hypocrite.″This people honors Me with their lips, but their hearts are far away from Me,″ says the prophet.

It was not ″Faith has made thee whole,″ but rather ″Thy faith has made thee whole,″ that the Lord said to the lady whom He had healed from her singing affliction.And when the blind men begged the Lord to heal them, He responded by asking, ″What do you desire that I should do unto you?″ An unconquerable religion that does not bring evil under control and result in a righteous life is not a saving faith.″But as many as received Him, to them He gave the authority to become sons of God, even to those who believe in His name: for they were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God,″ writes the apostle John.

″But as many as received Him, to them He gave the authority to become sons of God, even to those who believe on His name.″ Do we believe that we can follow Him without having to give up our own interests?Do we trust Him when He says, ″If thou wilt enter into life, follow the commandments?″ Do we believe Him when He says, ″If thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments?″ ″The first commandment is to love the Lord thy God with all of thy heart, and with all of thy soul, and with all of thy mind; the second commandment is similar in that it says to love thy neighbor as yourself.All of the law and all of the prophets are hung on these two commandments.″ Does He mean what He says, when He says, ″If you do whatsoever I order you, ye are My friends.″ And, ″If you fulfill My commandments, ye shall dwell in My love?″ It is because folks do not believe in the Lord and do not bring His presence and power into their life by living according to the principles of His Word that there is instability and insecurity in the world today.

It is the violation of His commandments that is the source of all of the world’s problems and troubles.He was the only one who was able to defeat all evil.He is the only one who has the power to defeat evil inside us and throughout the globe.

His ability to cast out evil and create His kingdom in the hearts of mankind will increase as the world grows to believe in Him and His promises, and as the world comes to believe in His power and His promises come to pass.
