” There Was Jesus ” is a song written by American Christian rock musician Zach Williams and American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton, which was released in 2007. As the second single from Williams’ album, Rescuing Story, it was released on October 3, 2019, and has since gone platinum. At the 2021 Grammy Awards, the song “There Was Jesus” was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. Williams collaborated with Casey Beathard and Jonathan Smith on the song “There Was Jesus,” which was also produced by Williams.
