The Main Message of Jesus

When the Gospel authors introduce Jesus’ career, they portray Him as a messenger from Heaven, bearing a vital message that comes directly from the heart of God.
This message, according to Mark, is known as the ″Gospel of the Kingdom of God.″ (Matthew 1:14) ″What or where is the Kingdom of God?″ is one of the most important questions we need to ask.
″Can you tell me what the major point of this letter is?″ ″Can you tell me how this message affects those of us who live in the twenty-first century?″ Whenever we look at Jesus’ life, it becomes plainly evident that he spent the greater part of his time teaching and preaching about the Kingdom of God.
Unlike the Scribes and Pharisees, he delivered a message that was in opposition to theirs.
It was a message of love, acceptance, and forgiveness that he was delivering.
Theirs was a message of denunciation and condemnation on the part of the audience.

Tolerance and inclusivity were the themes of his speech.
One of intolerance and exclusivity, that was their way of life.
His teaching was so completely different from what they were expecting that they sought to murder Him because of it.
What is it about this message that has sparked such a polarization in public opinion?

Begin by identifying what Jesus was referring to when He talked of the Kingdom of God in the first place.There are two fundamental implications for me when it comes to the Kingdom of God.The first is the immediate: the meaning of ″right now.″ The other is one that is eschatological in nature (eschatological is a theological word referring to a future order connected to the return of Christ and preceding events).There are certain parts of God’s promises that are fulfilled right now, and there are others that are not fulfilled yet.

We must maintain these two concepts together, but in the appropriate amount of tension.
The purpose of Jesus’ coming was to prepare us for Heaven, but He also came to instill Heavenly principles into our lives right now.
We can have certain things now that He wants us to have, but we will have to wait until we get to Heaven before we can have others.
What is apparent, however, is that Jesus desired for us to be a part of the Heavenly community while we were still on earth.

One of the most straightforward ways to explain the Kingdom of God is to simply state: ″The Kingdom of God is any location where God’s will is carried out.″ Those who live in places where the will and purposes of God are seen as preeminent have entered into the Kingdom of God.When Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of God may be found inside us, he is implying that we have surrendered ourselves to God’s will (Luke 17:21).If we start with this description as a beginning point, it becomes much easier to add other concepts that expand on what it means to ″do the will of God.″ Matt 5, 6, and 7 expose us to Jesus’ most in-depth teaching on Kingdom principles, which occurs during the sermon on the mount.It is possible to characterize it as the Manifesto of Kingdom ideals.Allow me to show you many examples of them.We begin with eight Kingdom principles and behaviors that are described in what is popularly referred to as ″The Beatitudes,″ which are the teachings of Jesus Christ.

THE PEOPLE OF THE KINGDOM DEPEND ON GOD.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for it is theirs that the Kingdom of Heaven will be revealed.
(See Matthew 5:3) The way the CEV (Contemporary English Version) interprets this stanza is very beautiful.

″God favors those who rely only on Him for their needs.″ Poor in spirit, as a result, implies that one is in need of and dependent on God.This instantly draws a distinction between those who require God’s help and those who do not require God’s help.Both God-reliant and God-independent people exist in the world.Those who believe they are deficient in spiritual things and those who believe they are self sufficient in spiritual matters are two types of people.Those who are spiritually impoverished, as well as those who are spiritually whole and needless.

There were many people in 1st century Palestine who believed that they were complete and didn’t require any spiritual guidance at the time.For example, the Scribes and Pharisees were included in this group.They were in control of the law, they were in control of their religion, and they were in control of their connection with God.They did not consider themselves to be ″poor in spirit″ for even a single moment.The wealthy, the powerful, and those in positions of authority were all included in this group.

Jesus was explaining to these individuals, as well as to everyone else who would listen, that the first qualification for entering the Kingdom of God is to be in desperate need of God’s help.
Kingdom individuals are clearly distinguished from one another.
They are reliant on God rather than being self-sufficient.
They are self-aware enough to recognize their need on God.

In their hearts, they see that the vacuum in their lives is a ″God shaped void,″ and that nothing other than God can fully fill that hole.Before one may join the Kingdom of God, it is necessary for us to cry out, ″God, I need You.″ As a result, this is the first of the Beatitudes to be said.It serves as a gateway to the remaining Kingdom Values in the world.In the same way that this one bestows blessings on the person who takes it, the other seven do the same.

These eight Kingdom Values embody and summarize the central message of Jesus and his teachings.
He came to teach us how to live the Heavenly life while we are here on the planet Earth, and he came to show us how to do so.

Compassion?

These strong messages were all woven into his most essential message, but there was one message that would ″rule them all,″ give them each a context, and distinguish their meanings from all of the trendy, emotional interpretations that our society has made up for them in our day.
In it, he spoke about the Kingdom of God, and it brings together the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus — as well as the beginning and end of mankind – into an one grand cosmic masterpiece.

The Kingdom of God is defined as God’s rule over the earth.
A ″kingdom of God″ refers to God’s dominion on earth, which is generally conveyed through an agent, such as a prince, a regent, or a monarch.
When used in the Christian metanarrative, the term refers to God’s rule as announced, demonstrated, and exercised by his regent, Jesus of Nazareth.
Jesus of Nazareth is currently the resurrected sovereign ruler of the world and will eventually openly rule on this earth, completing God’s creational goal.

The Christian metanarrative is a continuation and culmination of the Israelite narrative.God’s monarchy is mentioned several times in the Hebrew Scriptures, particularly in the Psalms, and it is a source of great pride (Ps 10:6; 24:8,10; 29:10; 44:4; 47:2, 6, 7,8; 68:24; 74:12; 84:3; 93:1; 95:3; 96:10; 97:1; 98:6; 99:1; 145:1).God’s reign may be broken down into three categories: 1.God governs over creation, for he is the creator and sustainer; 2.

God reigns over countries, and he will/does bring them to judgment; and 3.
God rules over Israel, generally in the person of the king of the country.
As a result, God is shown as a monarch in the grand narrative of the Hebrew Scriptures, and he exerts his authority via a regent, who is the Davidic ruler of Israel.
God’s particular kingdom, Israel, is depicted as such in the Hebrew Scriptures, as a kingdom with geographical bounds.
In the teaching of Jesus of Nazareth, a shift in the narrative is signaled, and this sets the stage for the next chapter.
God’s Political Rule Is Defined As The Kingdom Of God As a starting point, when Jesus uses the term ″kingdom of God,″ he is conflating God’s second and third forms of rule in the context of God’s rule over all of creation, as well as God’s rule over all of creation.

It follows as a result of this that George Eldon Ladd was accurate in his assertion that the kingdom is not political in the sense that it has no physical boundaries.Apart from a historical interest, God is not ultimately concerned with a postage stamp-sized region in the Middle East, according to some.It’s true that Jesus first declared the reign of God to Israel and fulfilled all of the expectations for the Anointed One, but he makes it plain in his teaching (e.g., Matt 5:5) that God is concerned about the entire planet and that all peoples will come under his dominion (e.g.Matt 28:19-20).However, Ladd was incorrect in the sense that the term ″political″ does not relate to a specific area of land over which a government exercises sovereignty, as Ladd claimed.This is due to the fact that, as previously said, God’s reign extends to the entire globe according to Jesus, implying that God claims worldwide dominion.

However, ″Caesar″ claimed and continues to claim control over the known civilized world.Consequently, it was and remains unavoidable that there would be and is a confrontation because both God and ″Caesar″ claim sovereign authority over the same people at the same time.God’s Rule is the foundation of the Kingdom of God.

As a result of Jesus To be clear about the second point, when Jesus refers to the kingdom of God, he does not specify who God’s regent is.In fact, Jesus does not refer to God as having a regent at all, definitely not in the manner in which John the Baptist did.In contrast, Jesus acts with sovereign power, and as the gospel narrative progresses, we learn that Jesus is actually the regent of the kingdom of heaven (e.g.Mark 8:29, 14:61-62).

According to the gospels, he is David’s son, and as such, he is also God’s son.
As a result, in Jesus, we have both God’s rule and the person through whom God exerts his reign in the world.
The resurrection and ascension of Jesus, according to the early members of the Jesus movement (i.e., the early church), established him as God’s elevated ruler and heir.
He already has power over those who have agreed to follow his laws, and he will soon be able to force his will on everyone on the face of the earth.
In this way, we have a conflict between what has happened and what has not happened yet.
The good news is that all people are being called to repudiate their former allegiances and to submit to God’s reign through Jesus Christ.

An appeal for allegiance, whether it be to a political party or to a particular religion or to a particular social group or to material things, is an appeal for obedience.It contains the promise that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, God will enable people who pledge their allegiance to Jesus to carry out this obedience, and that, as a result of his generous favor, he will forgive them for any previous failure to submit to his authority.The Kingdom of God is comprised of God’s One People.Neither is this calling of all people into a community under the sovereignty of God, as exercised through Jesus, done in opposition to the people of God in the Hebrew Scriptures, nor is it done in parallel with their narrative, but rather as a fulfillment of that narrative and of that people in the New Testament.As Paul says in Romans 11, there is only one people of God, and those ethnic Jews who refuse to submit to God’s rule in Jesus are ″cut off″ from that people (to use Paul’s metaphor), whereas all who do submit to God’s rule in Jesus, from whatever national or racial background, are ″reborn″ into God’s people, inheriting the promises of Exod 19:6, becoming both stones of and priests in the rebuilt Temple (which is a community, not a God’s Demonstration of the Kingdom of God As a result of Jesus Jesus exhibited God’s authority by healing the ill, expelling devils from people, and accepting and caring for misfits and the impoverished, among other things (as seen in the four canonical gospels and referred to in Acts).As a real king of Israel, he performed the role of deliverer of the downtrodden, whether those who were oppressed were oppressed by other people, poverty, sickness, or the demons of the night (Luke 4:18-21, referring to Isa 61:1-2).

Death, and the dread of death, are, without a doubt, the ultimate oppressors (e.g.
Heb 2:14-15).
The devil, according to the teachings of the New Testament, is at the root of all injustice.
Furthermore, Jesus taught the rule of God by describing what the new community should look like; that is, how his disciples were to spend their lives in the present in preparation for the new global order to come.
When Jesus lived this new global order, he sacrificed his life in order to abolish the power of evil rather than attempting to do it by force.

God’s Demonstration of the Kingdom of God As a result of Us It is the responsibility of Jesus’ disciples to carry out the same actions as Jesus.
They are asked to embody the principles of the new community, which includes delivering the oppressed, regardless of the source of the oppression they may be experiencing themselves.
Their weapons, like Jesus’, are the proclamation of the good news, the explanation of what it means to live under God’s authority, the power of the Holy Spirit (including that experienced through prayer and meditation), and sacrificial love (which includes self-giving).
The disciples are likewise willing to die in the war against evil, understanding that not only will this destroy the power of evil, but also that in dying, they are following their Lord and that they would also follow him in resurrection, just as Jesus was.

This reveals that their dread of death no longer has any influence over them since they understand that death no longer has ultimate authority over their lives.How To Live In The Light Of The Age To Come: The Kingdom Of God The kingdom community does not anticipate to be successful in this age, according to the standards of the day.These people have rejected the age in which they live, including the sovereignty of ″Caesar,″ as well as the ultimate value of money, and they are living for a new age, which is already here in part (as they have experienced personally and in their calling upon God’s sovereign power in Jesus to act in the world), but which is not yet fully present.As a result, they ″put on eschatological glasses.″ They see everything in terms of the future period, when God will rule openly via his king Jesus, and so everything is framed accordingly.Because of this, they address Jesus as ″Lord,″ which is a shortened version of ″Caesar,″ or as the Anointed One, which is a translation of ″Christ,″ which is the title used by the Jews to refer to God’s chosen monarch.However, the essential problem is not whether or not they refer to Jesus by his given name, but whether or not they are genuinely subject to his authority.

The four Gospels are very clear that Jesus’ primary message was about the Kingdom of God. Yet why is it so hard to find Jesus’ message in today’s Christianity?

The plethora of religions that make up Christianity all claim that their faith is founded on the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Almost all of them claim Him as their founder and claim that their teachings are based on what He said and did 2,000 years ago, according to the Bible.
However, there are numerous concepts in which mainstream Christianity overlooks or even rejects the teachings of Jesus Christ, which is a tragic reality.
Christ’s fundamental message, for example, is a notable example of Christianity neglecting something Jesus clearly said.
Here’s a brave statement to make: The essential lesson that Jesus Christ conveyed to the world when He walked the globe 2,000 years ago is almost completely ignored by mainstream Christianity.
But what was the message that Jesus was trying to convey?

The Kingdom of God was the central message of his ministry.
His most famous lecture, the Sermon on the Mount, has this essential lesson, which He located in the middle of it.
During His sermon, He stated that His disciples should seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and that ″all these things will be added to you″ (Matthew 6:33, emphasis added).
The teachings of Jesus Christ are unequivocal: the Kingdom of God is to be the primary goal and concentration in the lives of those who follow Him.

In fact, it was at the heart of His message of salvation.The central theme of Jesus’ gospel was the arrival of the Kingdom of God on this planet.

What is the gospel?

The term ″gospel″ is commonly used in the Christian community.
Some people associate the word gospel with a particular kind of religious music, however in the Bible, the word gospel refers to a message.
A message of good news is what it actually implies.
The term ″gospel″ appears in the mission statements of the vast majority of churches.
A common description of the gospel is that it is ″the gospel of Jesus Christ,″ and it is understood to be the message of His life, death, and resurrection.
(You may verify this by conducting a Google search for the mission statements of various Christian faiths.) Was this, however, the core lesson that Jesus conveyed throughout his lifetime?

Was His message only focused on Himself and nothing else?
A close examination of the tales of Christ’s life in the Gospels reveals exactly what His message—His gospel—was all about!
Take note of Mark 1:14: The gospel of the kingdom of God was preached in Galilee after John was imprisoned, as recorded in Matthew 4:17.
With regard to the first part of the sentence, it is very straightforward: Jesus proclaimed the gospel of the Kingdom of God!

There are several passages in the Bible that support this claim.To provide an example, Matthew 9:35 states, ″Then Jesus went about all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom.″ Matthew 9:36 states, ″Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues.″ The Lord Jesus Christ was ready to depart a region where He had been teaching for a period of time at one point during His mission.The residents of that region attempted to urge Him not to go (Now that it was day, He left and went into a desolate location.And the throng sought Him out and drew near to Him, attempting to prevent Him from leaving them (Luke 4:42, New King James Version (NKJV) The Holy Bible, New King James Version 1982 by Thomas Nelson″>The Holy Bible, New King James Version ).

″I must preach the gospel of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well, since I have been sent for this purpose,″ Jesus stated in answer (verse 43).
Take a moment to absorb it.
In His teachings on the subject of the Kingdom of God, Jesus Christ stated that one of His principal goals in coming to earth was to preach about it.
That was His message to the world.

That was the message He wanted to send.That was His intention all along.That was the driving force and motivation behind Him.When we grasp the gist of Jesus’ teaching about the Kingdom of God, we may better comprehend why He made the remark in Matthew 6:33: ″I have come to proclaim the gospel to the poor.″ ″First and foremost, seek the kingdom of God.″ He instructs us to seek first the Kingdom of God since the Kingdom of God was the major message He sent to the world.What was the message that Jesus was trying to convey?A actual establishing of the Kingdom of God on earth at the second coming of Jesus Christ was the message conveyed by the vision.

How Christianity lost Jesus’ message

Following Christ’s resurrection and ascension into heaven, He established the Church.

When it comes to following Christ’s instruction, the Bible demonstrates that the early Church diligently followed it and preached the gospel of the Kingdom of God (But when they accepted Philip as he spoke the things concerning God’s kingdom and the name of Jesus Christ, they were both baptized).

It is also important to note that the early Church members focused on the future Kingdom (and on Jesus, who is referred to as Justus).
These are the only fellow laborers for the kingdom of God who are of the circumcision, and they have proven to be a source of consolation to me throughout the years.

Greetings and welcome to another UNFILTERED blog post on Thursday, the only blog that is as shameless as it promises to be.
Each and every once in a while, I’ll gather up the confidence to check my Facebook news stream.
I put my hands over my face and look through two fingers, preparing myself to hear what Christians today – the majority of whom I don’t know – are saying to themselves.
(All right, I’m exaggerating a little bit.) While this might be a little disconcerting at times, it is one of the ways I keep my finger on the pulse of contemporary Christianity.
And that, in turn, can lead to the creation of a new article.
This one, for example.

In a question on his Facebook wall a few months ago, someone (who I did not know) asked: ″What was the core message of Jesus?″ I thought it was an interesting subject.
I was curious – and a little afraid – to see the reactions, so I decided to follow the thread at the risk of falling into a state of despair.

All of the foregoing is what I refer to as ″the Insurgence.″ All of Jesus’ teachings on love were directed for individuals who had already surrendered to His absolute dominion and had thus become a part of His kingdom.
The way the kingdom of God functions is via love – defined by Jesus in a manner that is not the same as the way the world defines it.

Love usually involves giving up one’s life, laying it down, and denying oneself.To love in the biblical sense, one must first renounce all (repent), devote their lives to Jesus (faith), and accept His own divine life into their beings (receive His own divine life) (the new birth).Why?Why?Because spiritual life is defined by its essence as love, and one cannot experience this sort of divine love unless they first embrace Christ and allow His Spirit to indwell them.Sure, they may be charming, friendly, and enjoyable to be around, and they can even be generous.

However, they are unable to experience the divine love (agape) that the New Testament speaks of so frequently.
