What does it mean that there is power in the name of Jesus?

When it comes to names, none are more powerful than the name of Jesus. God bestowed to Jesus the “name that is beyond all names” (Philippians 2:9). What is it about this name that is so compelling? He was able to accomplish this because of the sacrifice He made—by living a sinless life, dying a sinner’s death, and being raised from the dead. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved,” Jesus said, paving the path for all of mankind to be rescued and restored to good standing with God (Romans 10:13; cf.

There is nothing intrinsically strong about the word “Jesus.” Its force comes from Christ, the person who came into this world as God incarnate and established a path for us to be saved.

God honored Jesus’ sacrifice by bestowing upon him the most potent name known to man.

As a result, God has elevated him and given him the name that is above all names, so that at the mention of Jesus’ name, every knee should bend, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” The very mention of Jesus’ name prompts us to praise Him and give God the glory he deserves.

  1. It takes faith to trust in the power of Jesus’ name, and faith is required (Hebrews 11:6).
  2. The name of Jesus is the most potent name in the universe when used with faith.
  3. If you ask me to accomplish anything in my name, I will, according to the Bible (see also 1 John 5:13–15), as Jesus states in John 14:14.
  4. When we confess Jesus as our Lord and believe in Him as our Savior, we have the same power that He possesses, the power of the Holy Spirit, within us.
  5. The seven sons of the priest Sceva sought to drive out demons in the name of Jesus in the book of Acts, despite the fact that they did not believe in Jesus.
  6. Acts 19:13–16 describes how the demon-possessed man thrashed them until they were bleeding and bleeding terribly.
  7. However, we can be certain that God will not acknowledge the power contained inside Jesus’ name unless it is accompanied by trust in Jesus Christ as Lord.

Rather, the Person of Jesus is the source of the power of Jesus’ name.

As Christians, we are completely persuaded of the authority that the name of Jesus possesses.

Christians live their lives from a point of honoring the power of Jesus’ name: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Colossians 3:16).

Because of the transforming power of Jesus’ name, it is possible for all individuals to be saved, healed, and delivered.

Australian praise and worship groupHillsong Worship has released a new song titled ” What a Beautiful Name.” In the hymn, composed and led byBrooke Ligertwood and co-authored withBen Fielding, the promise of redemption through Jesus Christ, as represented by His Holy Name, is proclaimed and proclaimed again and again. Hillsong was voted Billboard’s Top Christian Artist of 2017 as a result of the “genre-smashing tune,” which was released in April. In 2017, the song “What a Beautiful Name” was nominated for two Dove Awards: Song of the Year and Worship Song of the Year.

It was released on January 6, 2017, as the lead single from the band’s 25th live album, Let There Be Light, which was released on January 6, 2017.

Background

The song “What a Beautiful Name” was written in December 2015 in Sydney, Australia, for the impending Hillsong Conference, which is an annual Christian gathering. The song’s scriptural base may be found in Hebrews 1:1–1:4, Colossians 1:15–1:20, and Colossians 1:26–1:27, among other places.

Composition

According to Hillsong Publishing’s sheet music, which can be found at Sheetmusicdirect.com, “What a Beautiful Name” has a slow pace of 68 beats per minute. The song, which was written in common time, is in the key of D major. Throughout the song, Brooke Ligertwood’s vocal range ranges from A 3 to B 4 on the scale.

Music video

During the Hillsong Conference in Sydney, a video for the song was shot, and it was published on September 30th, 2016. As of the 16th of April, 2021, the YouTube video has received more than 400 million views.

Criticism and Reception

Hillsong Worship’s “passionate, faith-based sound” was lauded by music reviewer Matt Collar, who said that fans of the group “would undoubtedly love this expressive, uplifting Christian pop.” Hillsong Worship’s music is available on iTunes. However, theologian and pastor John Piper has criticized this hymn as heresy, stating that he does not agree with the lyrics. It seems to fit too readily into a theology of a God who created because he was lonely, and then saved mankind because he was also lonely thereafter.

—John Piper, in his own words Another pastor, Sam Storm, expressed criticism of the song along similar lines, but refrained from labeling it “heretical” in his remarks.

Jake Gosselin attributed the song’s appeal in the Christian community to a variety of things, according to the musician.

In practice, this relates to the song’s “narrow vocal range,” which is defined as “one note over an octave” in terms of pitch.

A song that is simple to sing and does not strain the voice with notes that are too high or too low will result as a result of these considerations. He also mentions that the song is composed in the key of D, which he believes is “the most appropriate key for both men and women to sing in.”

Chart performance

“What a Beautiful Name” was released digitally globally on January 6, 2017, and peaked at number one on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs list on February 25, 2017. The single has been at the top of the Hot Christian Songs chart for 37 weeks, making it the third-longest-running No. 1 in the list’s 14-year history and the third-longest-running No. 1 overall. The song ” Oceans (Where Feet May Fail ) “, which was published by another Hillsong unit, Hillsong United, holds the distinction of being the longest-running No.

  • “Oceans” was the number one song on the Hot Christian Songs list for 61 weeks.
  • In addition to becoming the No.
  • 3 song on the Christian Streaming Songs chart, and it is also the No.
  • Hillsong Worship’s first No.
  • 1 overall.
  • “What a Beautiful Name” is a song from Hillsong Worship’s 25th live album, Let There Be Light, which was released in January of this year.
  • Let There Be Light was recognized as the ninth best film of the year in 2017.

Awards and accolades

Hillsong Worship was voted the Top Christian Artist of 2017, as well as the Top Christian Duo/Group, by Billboard magazine. “What a Beautiful Name” was nominated for two Dove Awards, including Song of the Year and Worship Song of the Year, for its performance. Hillsong Worship’s “What a Beautiful Name” was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song at the 60th Grammy Awards, marking the first time the band has received this honor.

Live performances

The song was recorded live at the Hillsong Conference in 2016, during a live performance of the song. During the 48th Annual Dove Awards, which were hosted at Allen Arena in Nashville, Hillsong United performed the song. Audience members were “on their feet with their hands in the air” after the performance, which got positive feedback. According to Ligertwood, when questioned about singing the song in an interview with Billboard’s Jim Asker, the majority of the audience members were already aware with the tracks since they were a part of the church and because we sing these songs in church on a daily basis.

Ultimately, we hope that the song will strike a chord with them.

Lastly, she shared her thoughts on her performance of the song: “I suppose that when I am leading the song, my voice is myself, but it is also my prayer first, that I am there to serve others and unite with them in the presence of God.” Individuals may feel their spirits being elevated when they make connections with you.

Really, it’s the beauty of singing anything about the majesty and power of Jesus that captures my attention. When individuals get together, it is liberating for them, as it breaks down barriers and fosters faith.”

Other versions

During the month of July 2017, the Voices of Lee, a “elite” a cappella singing group, uploaded a video of the song on their social media website. The cover became an instant smash, with more than 5 million views in only two days, exceeding the so-called viral threshold. As of October 2017, it had had a total of 33 million page views. It was filmed at the chapel of Lee University in Tennessee, where the group is representing the school’s name.

You were the first and most important word. One with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, whose hidden splendour in creation has now been unveiled in You, our Savior What a lovely moniker that is as well. What a lovely moniker that is as well. In the name of Jesus Christ, my Savior and King What a lovely moniker that is as well. There is nothing that compares to this. What a lovely moniker that is as well. The Lord’s Name is Jesus. As a result, Jesus, because you didn’t want heaven without us, you brought heaven down.

  • What could possibly divide us at this point?
  • What a wonderful name it is.
  • The Name of Jesus is a beautiful name, and it is the name of God.
  • The Lord’s Name is Jesus.
  • You tore the curtain in front of me, and you hushed the brag of sin and death.
  • Your glory is extolled, for You have been risen from the dead once again.
  • You have no equivalent, now and in the future.

That which belongs to you is the kingdom.

What a tremendous Name It is the Name of Jesus Christ, my King.

Everything and everybody cannot stand against what a tremendous Name it is, which is the Name of Jesus.

You have no equivalent, now and in the future.

That which belongs to you is the glory, and you are the Name above all names.

What a strong Name It is the Name of Jesus Christ, my King.

Nothing can stand against what a powerful Name it is: the Name of Jesus.

When it comes to names, none are more powerful than Jesus’ own name.

What’s in a Name: The Powerful Names of Jesus

Names have a lot of influence. Jesus was born into a society in which people’s names were imbued with dreams and expectations when they were given their names. Peter (Greek for “stone”) was the name Jesus gave to Simon when he was called into ministry by the Lord. He then vowed to develop the Church through him. When Jesus saw the conceited Pharisee Saul on the way to Damascus, he took him down a peg and dubbed him Paul (which means “little” or “humble” in Greek). Paul went on to preach and epitomize the humility he had learnt from Jesus as a result of his conversion.

Jesus himself was no stranger to being addressed by a variety of names. We want to assist you in worshiping Jesus for who He truly is throughout this Advent season. As a result, we’ll take a look at a couple of Jesus’ names, why they’re important, and how we might utilize them to get closer to God.

Jesus, also known as…

God purposefully included more than 100 titles in the Bible that refer to Jesus in order to inform us about him. They enable us to have a deeper understanding of Him. Only Jesus is able to be both the fearful, obedient Lamb and the great, triumphant Lion at the same time. Jesus’ ability to put death to death by sacrificing himself was made possible because of his dual identity. Throughout Scripture, the purpose of Jesus is expressed via the titles that have been given to Him. Christians all throughout the world will be focusing their attention on the birth of Jesus during this season.

It’s incredible to think that Jesus is “God with us,” but He is so much more than that.

When you hear some of Jesus’ more well-known names mentioned in Christmas songs and hymns this season, consider taking a moment to reflect on what the names you’re singing mean.

Jesus is frequently referred to as the Christ, a term that effectively translates as “Messiah” or “Savior.” What does it mean that He is your personal rescuer, specifically?

The Names of Jesus are Pathways to Worship

What you learn about God is intended to assist you in getting to know Him better. Consider praying through a list of Jesus’ names using the following questions to guide you through your prayer.

  • Was there something specific about Jesus’ character that this name revealed to me? Was this moniker given to Jesus to tell me something about his mission? Specifically, what does this name reveal to me about the relationship between Christ and myself
  • What is the best way for me to utilize this name to teach people about the God I personally know
  • And

What’s in a Name?

Names, whether they be those of individuals, bands, or corporations, have the ability to transmit something essential to their listeners. Perhaps this explains why so few parents these days choose to name their children Dorcas and Nimrod, despite the fact that those are biblical names. I pray that you are able to experience the beauty of Jesus in fresh ways this advent season and beyond as a result of worshiping Him in His name this season and beyond.

What a Powerful Name – Jesus! — Nikimac Solutions Inc.

Beloved. The name of JESUS possesses tremendous power! JESUS! What a lovely moniker it is too! In the name of Jesus Christ, my Resurrected Lord and King! The name is absolutely fantastic! What a powerful name it is! The name above all names! Heavenly Father, by your righteous right hand, I call on the powerful name of JESUS to be Lordship over my body, my life, my thoughts, my will, my situation, my children, my household, my family, my finances, my business/career, our callings, and the work of our hands.

Heavenly Father, upon the revelation of the Powerful name of Jesus, as written in God’s Word; I decree and declare God’s Glorious manifestation of supernatural breakthroughs, miraculous deliverance, superabundant blessings and prosperity in my life and all my concerns, in the powerful name of Jesus I pray, AMEN!

1) All things are possible in the name of Jesus

“Whatever you ask in my name, I will accomplish so that the Father’s glory may be revealed through the Son’s sacrifice. Anything you want me to do in my name, I would gladly oblige.”

2) Pray in the name of Jesus

You will make your request in my name on that day, and I do not promise you that I will make your request to the Father on your behalf.

3) Jesus is the Only Way, Truth and Life

“I am the way, the truth, and the life,” Jesus replied to him, and he believed him. No one else can bring anybody else to the Father except through me.

4) Jesus is the name that is above all names

As a result, God has elevated Him and given him the name that is above all names, so that at the mention of Jesus’ name, every knee should bend, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

5) Salvation, sanctification, redemption, forgiveness, and deliverance is in the name of Jesus

According to the Bible, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” And this was the case for several of you. However, you have been washed, you have been cleansed, and you have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our Father.

The only other person who can save us is Jesus Christ, because there is no other name under heaven that has been given among humans by which we may be saved.

6) Demon shake at the utterance of the name of Jesus. Satan flees in the name of Jesus. Yokes, demonic oppression, and curses are broken in the name of Jesus. Jesus is the Chain-Breaker!

“Lord, even the devils are subservient to us in your name!” said the seventy-two as they returned with a joyful shout.

7) Healing, miracles, signs and wonders in the name of Jesus

In the meantime, you extend your hand to cure, and miracles and signs are done in the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After seeing this, Peter addressed the crowd, saying: “Men of Israel, why do you look at us as if we’ve done anything to make him walk, or why do you stare at us as if we’ve made him walk by our own might or piety?” It was in the presence of Pilate when he chose to free Jesus that God the Father, God the Son, and the God of our fathers praised his servant Jesus, whom you had turned over and denied in his presence when Pilate had decided to release him.

In contrast, you refused the Holy and Righteous One and begged for the gift of becoming a murderer, and as a result, you murdered the Author of life, whom God had risen from the grave.

And it is by trust in His name that this guy, whom you see and know, has become strong, and it is through faith in Jesus that the man has achieved this perfect health in the face of you all.

8) Jesus, Son of God, was born in humanity, a perfect man to die the sacrificial death for all sins of humanity, facing crucifixion and triumphant victory in His resurrection.

“She will give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus, because he will rescue his people from their sins,” says the prophet.

9) Jesus, The High Priest, The Sovereign God, has the final authority, given the supreme dominion over Governments and principalities.

For to us, a child is born, and to us, a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace; and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.

10) Confess, Repent and Baptize in the name of Jesus

As a result of their faith in Philip’s preaching, both men and women were baptized as a result of their belief in the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ. “Repent, and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit,” Peter instructed them.

= Glory be to God. Father, in the name of Jesus, I stand in faith for You to perform, activate, fulfill, manifest, and complete this Word in the lives of every eye that see it, read it, believe in You to do it. Lord, let there be a revival in the Power of Jesus name. Amen!

The Name of JesusWhat a resoundingly strong name! The Lord’s Name is Jesus. What a commanding moniker that is. The Lord’s Name is Jesus. Brooke Ligertwood and Ben Fielding are the songwriters for this song. Song lyrics from Capitol Christian Music Group’s “What A Beautiful Name.”

The Powerful Name of Jesus

Because the cost of sin is death, but God’s free gift of everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord is eternal life. (Romans 6:23, American Standard Version) Isn’t it interesting that the name of Jesus isn’t mentioned nearly as much as the name of God? I’ve noticed that I talk about God a lot and that I hear a lot about Him in many interactions that I have. The mention of Jesus, on the other hand, is seldom. I am aware of Him and hear about Him throughout the holidays, such as Easter and Christmas.

  • However, that name, that name that will bring every knee to their knees.
  • What is the reason behind this?
  • He recognizes the power and is terrified by it.
  • There is a lot of disagreement about the name Jesus.
  • I’ve certainly done so.
  • We don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable or insult them in any way.
  • It was He who chose to forsake His life in Heaven in order to come to earth and live a spotless life in our place.

He battled temptation, He faced desertion, He faced nasty words and harsh deeds in order to show you that someone understood your anguish and hunger.

It’s true that his given name should cause some debate.

He forsook the comforts of Heaven in order for you to be able to spend eternity with God one day.

God’s grace was no longer available to me because of my sin.

It is impossible for me to comprehend the entire scope of God’s love if He does not reach out to me via His Son.

He died as a sacrifice for my sins!

How am I ever going to be able to repay Him for everything He has done for me?

His name will throw a light into every dark corner of my life that I shall come upon.

He will be the One who will guide me through the rest of my life in the ways of God.

I shall announce that Jesus is the Lord of the universe.

I will not be ashamed in any way! I’m not going to give up! I intend to live in such a way that it is evident that I am grateful for having been purchased by the blood of the Lamb. The one and only sacrifice that was once and for all.for all of my sins was offered!

“And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”~Hebrews 10:10

Because the cost of sin is death, but God’s free gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord is available to everyone who believes. (6:23, AMP) Romans 6:23 Isn’t it true that the name of Jesus isn’t spoken nearly as much as the name of God? The topic of God comes up frequently in my talks, and I see that others do as well. However, Jesus is only mentioned a few times. I am aware of Him and hear about Him around the holidays, such as Easter or Christmas. Which among us does not have such an opinion.

is not always at the tip of my tongue.

To be really honest, I believe that Satan is attempting to quiet us because he is aware of the immense power that lies in the name of Christ.

When we mention Jesus’ name, we sometimes watch people quiver in fear, individuals disconnect from dialogue, some people simply walk away, and yet others are harsh when we mention His name, among other things.

Has it been shown to you yet?

We avoid conflict on occasion.

All of us have grown far too aware of how everyone else feels, and we’ve completely forgotten how Jesus felt at the time of his death on the cross.

he came to demonstrate to you that someone felt your agony, someone understood your hunger, He empathized with your anxieties, He confronted temptation, He faced desertion, He faced unkind words and harsh deeds, and He triumphed over all of these challenges.

It’s true that his given name should cause some debate.

To ensure that you may spend eternity with God one day, Christ forsook the comforts of Heaven.

My inability to experience His kindness fully was a hindrance to my faith.

For me, Jesus gave his life on the cross.

The only reason he died was to liberate me!

First and foremost, I can believe that His name possesses supernatural might.

My Shepherd, my Hope, my Redeemer, my Savior, my Messiah, and my Prince of Peace will all be Jesus.

Yes, I intend to refer to Jesus by his given name.

If I don’t do it, I stand to lose a lot.

This is something I will not hide! I’m not going to back down! I intend to live in such a way that it is evident that I am grateful for having been purchased by the blood of Jesus. All of my crimes were paid with one sacrifice, and that was the end of the story.
