God the Father has proved his ability to bring the dead back to life, as seen by these eleven stories from the Bible.
Of course, the most well-known return is that of Jesus Christ, who was resurrected from the grave.

Through his sacrificial death and resurrection, Jesus defeated sin for all time, making it possible for his followers to experience eternal life in his presence.

10 People Raised From the Dead

Widow of Zarephath’s Son

While living in Zarephath, a pagan city in Phoenicia, the prophet Elijah the Tishbite had been taking refuge at the home of a widow during a period of tremendous famine in the land.
Unexpectedly, the woman’s son became ill and eventually lost his ability to breathe.
She accused Elijah of inflicting God’s wrath on her as a result of her wrongdoing on him.

Elijah carried the youngster to the upstairs room where he was staying and lay him on the bed, stretching himself out three times over his body.
He screamed out to God, pleading for the boy’s life to be returned to him.
Elijah’s prayers were heard by the Almighty.

The child’s life was restored, and Elijah helped him down to the ground floor.The prophet was pronounced by the lady to be a man of God, and his words were declared to be the truth.God demonstrated to the people of Phoenicia that he is the Lord of all nations and that Baal is a false god by accomplishing this miracle.1 Kings 17:17–24 is the biblical reference.

Shunammite Woman’s Son

A wealthy couple in Shunem allowed Elisha to reside in their upper chamber while he was on his mission.
Elisha was the prophet after Elijah.
He prayed for the woman to get pregnant, and God granted his request.

Several years later, the little kid complained of a headache and subsequently died as a result of the agony.
The lady hurried to Mount Carmel to see Elisha, who had dispatched his servant ahead of her, but the boy remained silent.
Elisha finally went to visit the child who had died.

Then he screamed out to the Lord and placed himself on the dead body, putting his lips on the body, his eyes on the body, his hands on the body.The boy’s body began to heat up, and he sneezed seven times (signifying that he had witnessed a flawless work of God) before opening his eyes.When Elisha returned the boy to his mother, she dropped to her knees and bent her head to the earth in reverence.Then she scooped up her kid and walked out of the room, joyous and grateful for all God had done for her and her family.2 Kings 4:18-37 is a biblical reference.

Israelite Man

After Elisha the prophet died, he was buried in a cave or tomb, according to biblical accounts.
Every spring, Moabite invaders assaulted Israel, once interfering with a burial procession.
Out of fear for their own lives, the burial team moved the body as fast as possible to Elisha’s tomb, which was the closest available location at the time.

Instantaneously, as soon as the corpse came into contact with Elisha’s bones, the dead man sprang to life and rose to his feet.
Evidently, the guys who threw the body into Elisha’s tomb were the ones who noticed the man who had been resurrected from the dead and spread the word far and wide about it.
In a manner, this miracle foreshadowed the way Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection transformed the grave into a portal to eternal life.

Widow of Nain’s Son

Jesus and his followers came face to face with a funeral procession as they approached the town gate of the village of Nain.
The funeral service for a widow’s lone son was to take place.
When Jesus saw her, he felt a deep sense of compassion for her.

He reached out and touched the coffin that housed the body.
The carriers came to a halt.
Immediately after Jesus instructed the young man to rise, the son did so and started talking.

Jesus returned him to his mother’s care.Everyone in the room was taken aback.They said, ″Praise be to God!″ ″A great prophet has manifested himself amongst us.God has arrived to assist his people.″ The people recognized Jesus as a prophet in the same way that Elijah and Elisha were recognized.Luke 7:11–17 is the biblical reference.

Jairus’ Daughter

When Jesus was in Capernaum, Jairus, a leader in the synagogue, begged him to treat his 12-year-old daughter, who was dying.
Jesus agreed, and Jairus was healed.
On the way, a messenger informed them that the girl had died and that they should not worry them.

″Don’t be scared; just believe, and your daughter will be cured,″ Jesus told Jairus, according to the Bible.
When Jesus arrived at the house, he saw mourners weeping on the porch.
When he claimed that she was not dead but rather sleeping, the audience laughed.

″My child, get up,″ Jesus murmured as he walked into the room and took her by the hand.Her spirit returned, and she was resurrected and brought back to life.Her parents were instructed to provide her with something to eat but not to inform anybody about what had occurred.By this point in his early ministry, the Lord had displayed complete dominion over nature, demonic forces, illness, and even death, demonstrating his complete sovereignty over all things.Every power of nature was compelled to prostrate itself at His feet.

Luke 8:49–56 is the biblical reference.

Lazarus

The sisters Martha and Mary, as well as their brother Lazarus of Bethany, were three of Jesus’ closest companions.
Oddly enough, when Jesus was informed that Lazarus was unwell, he chose to remain in the same place for an additional two days.
When Jesus returned, he stated unequivocally that Lazarus had dead.

Saints in Jerusalem

The cross was the place where Jesus Christ died.
A powerful earthquake devastated Jerusalem, causing many graves and tombs to collapse.
Following Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, pious persons who had died earlier were brought back to life and appeared to a large number of people across the city.

The number of those who rose from the dead and what happened to them later are not specified in Matthew’s account.
According to Bible scholars, this was another another portent of the great resurrection that was to come.

Tabitha or Dorcas

Tabitha was well-liked throughout the city of Joppa.
She was continually performing nice deeds, such as assisting the destitute and sewing clothing for other people.
Tabitha (also known as Dorcas in Greek) became ill and died one day.

Her body was cleansed and then deposited in an upstairs room by a group of women.
They dispatched the apostle Peter, who happened to be in the adjacent town of Lydda.
Peter knelt on his knees and prayed after removing everyone else from the room.

″Tabitha, please get up,″ he begged to her.She sat up, and Peter was able to deliver her to her companions while still alive.The information spread like wildfire.As a result, a large number of individuals came to believe in Jesus.Acts 9:36-42 is the biblical reference.

Eutychus

Tabitha was well-liked by all of the people in the city of Joppa.

Can We Raise the Dead Like Jesus Did?

In the Gospel of John, Jesus performs a series of signs to demonstrate that he is the long-awaited Messiah of Israel.
John 11 describes his final miracle, which is the resurrection of his companion Lazarus, who had been dead and buried for four days before his death.
The following statement is made by Jesus in the context of this miraculous sign: ″I am the resurrection and the life.

The person who believes in me will survive, even if he or she dies.
All those who live and trust in me shall live forever″ (v.
25).

In the book of Acts, we witness Peter and Paul accomplishing the same thing: Peter raises Dorcas (Acts 9) and Paul raises Eutychus (Acts 20), despite the fact that neither had been dead for more than four days.But what about Christians in the modern era?Can we revive the dead in the same way that Jesus and some of his apostles did?Some Pentecostals would answer affirmatively.The fact that Peter and Paul performed the miracle suggests that Jesus was not the only one who performed it.

In contrast, those who believe in extinction argue that Peter and Paul were apostles, and that the capacity to revive the dead was lost after the time of Jesus Christ.
This issue has gained in popularity in recent years as a result of the international impact of Bill Johnson and the Bethel Church in Redding, California, which has a strong presence around the globe.
″People frequently come to me and ask me to pray for them so that they may find God’s purpose for their lives,″ Johnson says in his Manifesto for a Normal Christian Life.

Heal the sick, revive the dead, drive out demons, and cleanse lepers are all things I already know God wants them to do with their lives.
Bethel has even inspired the formation of a ministry known as ″The Dead Raising Team.″ Tyler Johnson, the group’s leader, claims that they are carrying out Jesus’ commission to revive the dead (Matt.
10:8).
What Jesus doesn’t say is whether believers should expect to resurrect the dead as part of ″regular Christian living.″

Two Unhelpful Responses

This question receives two unhelpful replies from my viewpoint as someone who thinks God is still able to do miracles via the efforts of his people.
The first is cynical cessationism, which is deceptive.
Some cessationists believe that no one can be miraculously resurrected from the dead in answer to sincere and faithful prayer, regardless of how powerful the petition is.

With great attention to detail, Craig Keener methodically recounts tales of resurrections in response to prayer throughout church history and now in his two-volume Miracles: The Credibility of the New Testament Accounts.
As addition as historical accounts from Irenaeus, Augustine, Benedict, Francis Xavier, and John Wesley, he also includes a large number of contemporaneous accounts from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the West.
He also describes a personal resurrection (that of his wife’s sister) as well as several cases from physicians who were able to medically verify that a person was dead before praying for them to come back to life, according to the book.

As a result, Keener utilizes the terminology of ″resuscitation″ to describe the phenomenon of people resurrecting from the dead yet ultimately dying at the end of their lives.A ″under-realized eschatological,″ in which one does not completely comprehend the richness of the opportunities offered to Christians in this era, may be revealed by rejecting all such evidence.In order to avoid denying God’s power to perform miracles now, we cannot state definitively that we should never pray for the resurrection of the dead.Another extreme, which I believe is seen among some Pentecostal leaders, is considerably more harmful, in my opinion.Please keep in mind that I am not categorizing every charismatic into this group, since there are many of charismatics who are theologically sound and who bless the greater body of Christ.

Nonetheless, I am sure that Bill Johnson and Bethel Church represent an extreme form of Pentecostalism that is both harmful and destructive in nature.

The assumption that every Christian should be involved in the resurrection of the dead is unbiblical.

Apart from Jesus, the New Testament only has two narratives of individuals reviving the dead (Peter and Paul), and church tradition indicates that, while there were instances of resurrection in the early church, they were infrequent.
It is Johnson’s over-realized eschatology that causes him to assume that he possesses more of the blessings of the coming kingdom than he actually does.
According to Paul in both 1 and 2 Corinthians, the ″super-apostles″ have fallen into the trap of having an over-realized eschatological (see, for example, 1 Cor.
4:8).
Why do I go to such lengths as to assert that this theology is destructive?

Consider the scenario of a funeral ceremony for a loved one.
Friends and relatives have gathered to express their sorrow over the death of a loved one.
Instead of offering words of condolence, the minister transforms the funeral into a ″resurrection ceremony,″ ordering the corpse to rise from his or her coffin and walk out of the chapel.
I’m aware of Bethel-inspired preachers who are doing this all throughout the world, from America to Malaysia.
(These are examples of situations in which I either directly know the minister or have gotten information about him from friends and acquaintances.
Bethel adherents have been known to announce that healing has already occurred, which is both arrogant and deceitful in its nature.

Moreover, if the deceased person isn’t revived as promised, Bethel’s absence of a biblical theology of suffering makes it difficult for the bereaved family to comprehend why the miracle didn’t happen as promised.
If they don’t know the answer, they will argue that it is due to a lack of faith, unconfessed sin, or generational sin at the very least.
As someone who was raised in a Bethel-inspired church for many years, I can speak from personal experience.
In the event that they do not receive the promised miracle, how many individuals grow discouraged with God?

Life in the ‘Now and Not Yet’

So, what should our course of action be?
How can we reconcile the fact that we serve a wondrous God who has the ability to revive the dead with the reality that this occurs very occasionally at the best of times?
We require an eschatology that has been begun.

The kingdom of God was inaugurated by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, but it will only be fully realized when he comes to take the kingdom back to the Father.
His kingdom exists in both the present and the future—and resurrection is an element of the future kingdom.
Could God, on rare occasions, provide a foretaste, a peek, or a preview of our eventual resurrection by miraculously raising a dead person in answer to faith-filled prayers?

Perhaps.Are there any expectations that it will be a normal component of the Christian experience?No.In light of this, how should we conduct our lives in the ″now and not yet″ of Christ’s inaugurated kingdom?There is no reason why God couldn’t revive the dead today, and it would not be immoral for us to pray for this to happen today, even if true Christians disagree.

That, on the other hand, is by no means God’s preferred method of operation.
It was unusual to witness a miracle in the New Testament, and it has been much more unusual in church history.
According to Hebrews 11:35, women received their dead and brought them back to life.

Other people were tortured for refusing to accept release in order to have a greater chance of a better resurrection.
Some were resurrected from the dead, while others were tormented and killed.
God has resurrected some, but on the final day, he will raise everyone back to life.
As we dwell in the ″now and not yet″ of Christ’s inaugurated kingdom, how should we conduct ourselves?
While we await Christ’s return, we can look forward to our resurrection and leave room for God’s miraculous involvement throughout our time of waiting.

Jesus Raises the Dead—Jairus’ Daughter and Others

The young lady in this photograph is 12 years old.
Jesus is holding her hand, and her mother and father are standing nearby to provide further support.
Do you know what it is that makes them so happy?

Let’s have a look and see.
Jairus is the name of the girl’s father, who is a well-known businessman.
When his daughter falls ill, he has her admitted to the hospital.

However, she shows no signs of improvement.She is simply becoming more and more ill.Jairus and his wife are quite concerned since it appears like their young daughter is on the verge of passing away.She is their only child and they are very proud of her.As a result, Jairus goes in search of Jesus.

He’s heard about the miracles that Jesus is performing right now.
When Jairus comes upon Jesus, he finds him surrounded by a large throng.
However, Jairus manages to make his way through the throngs and falls at Jesus’ feet.

‘My daughter is in really critical condition,’ he says.
‘Please, come and make her well,’ he begs the doctor to come.
Jesus has stated that he will return.
As they proceed down the street, the mob continues to force them closer.
Suddenly, Jesus comes to a halt.

‘Who was it that touched me?’ he wonders.
Jesus felt a surge of strength emanate from him, which led him to believe that someone had touched him.
But who is it?
It is a woman who has been suffering from a serious illness for the past 12 years.
She had gone up to Jesus and touched his garments, and she had been healed!
As a result, Jairus feels better because he now understands how simple it is for Jesus to cure another person.

After that, though, a messenger arrives.
‘Don’t bother Jesus any longer,’ he says Jairus in a stern voice.
It has been confirmed that your daughter has died.
After hearing this, Jesus comforts Jairus by saying: ‘Don’t worry, she’ll be OK.’ When they eventually make it to Jairus’ house, the residents are in tears over their loss of loved ones.

‘Don’t cry,’ Jesus, on the other hand, advises.The youngster did not succumb to his or her injuries.’She is merely asleep at the moment.’ They, on the other hand, laugh and make fun of Jesus because they know she is no longer alive.Jesus then enters the room where the infant is laying, accompanied by the girl’s father and mother, as well as three of his disciples.

‘Get up!’ he exclaims as he takes her by the hand and tells her.And she comes to life, precisely as you can see in this photograph.And then she gets up and goes for a stroll!

That is one of the reasons why her mother and father are so very pleased.
This isn’t the first time Jesus has revived someone from the grave.
The first of these individuals mentioned in the Bible is the son of a widow who lives in the city of Nain.
Later on, Jesus also raises Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha, from the grave, demonstrating his power over death.
The resurrection of countless numbers of individuals will take place when Jesus reigns as God’s king.
We should be pleased, shouldn’t we?

What’s Stopping You From Raising the Dead in Jesus’ Name?

Is raising the dead still possible today?

Why is it unlikely that the rising of the dead will take place today?
Amazing miracles are not what inspire individuals to have true trust in their own abilities.
If a person rejects God’s Word, no miracle will be able to persuade that person to repent and accept Jesus Christ as his or her personal Savior.
All a miracle would do is to increase public demand for more miracles (Matthew 12:39; John 6:26).

11:38-44 (John 11:38-44) (KJV) 38 Consequently, Jesus again groans within himself and descends to the grave.

If you believe that death is only a passing from this life to another, then raising the dead should be no problem.
Like Jesus said concerning the daughter of Jairus… In Matthew Mark and Luke it is recorded that Jesus saidMark 5:38And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.
39And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep?

the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
It’s not difficult to wake up somebody… OK, some are more difficult than others… Those that die in the Lord are not dead… Those that are dead in sins… those are dead!
If I could raise someone from physical death, they would just die again.
Lazarus, Widows son, Jarius daughter… all died again.
Raise from spiritual death, that’s eternal.

If you are saved, you have been raised from the dead… a spiritual death that would have caused you to be dead eternally.
Do you believe that?
Let’s see what the Word says: Ephesians 2:1-8 (KJV) (KJV) 1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (by grace ye are saved;) 6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Jesus raised Lazarus from a physical death… But I want to do greater works… I want to raise people from spiritual death… The death that kills the soul.
The death that is eternal.

Listen.
If we keep doing what we have always done, we will keep getting what we always got.
How do we go about bringing the spiritually dead back to life?
From our text, I see several things 1.

Obey Jesus They almost didn’t get their miracle because they did not want to obey Jesus told them what to do, and their response was to come up with excuses for not doing it Do we have excuses for not doing the will of God?OK what did he ask them to do?2.Remove the stone Ephesians 2:12 (KJV) (KJV) 12 … strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: Those that are dead Spiritually are “in the world.” They are sealed up as surely as Lazarus was sealed behind the stone.

They have no hope, and they are without God It is your responsibility to remove those things that would keep them from getting out of the tomb once they have had an encounter with Jesus.

Raising the Dead – No Big Deal?

Is it really such a huge thing to raise the dead?
That appears to be how the Bible portrays the situation.
A number of examples of persons being resurrected from the dead are recorded in the Scriptures.

Throughout the series, it is presented as if it were a common occurrence.
Possibly, miracles of any type, including the rising of the dead, were considerably more prevalent than we had previously realized or imagined.
According to the Gospel of John, if all of the things that Jesus accomplished were ever properly documented, the earth itself would be unable to accommodate all of the volumes that would be required.

Miracles were prevalent, and they were essential to the message and aim of the Gospel.Nothing is a huge concern if you have confidence in what the Bible says since it is plain and consistent throughout.

If you have faith, nothing is a big deal. Getting the faith is the big deal.

The following are three occasions in which Jesus is said to have risen someone from the dead that have been documented: ″Jairus’ Daughter″: Jairus, a prominent member of the local Synagogue, begs Jesus to heal his terminally sick daughter.
They are stopped in their tracks on the approach to his house by another healer.
Meanwhile, they receive word that the girl has passed away.

Jesus is unconcerned about it.
He assuages his father’s anxieties and goes on his way.
When he arrives at the house, he walks up to the girl and gently awakens her.

It is normal and comfortable for Him, yet it is astounding to people who are in His immediate environment.(See Matthew 9:18 – 26, Mark 5:22 – 43, and Luke 8:41 – 56 for further information.) During his journey through a neighboring town, Jesus comes across a funeral procession for the only son of a local widow, which he interrupts.When He sees her, He is moved with compassion and orders the procession to come to a halt.A guy gets to his feet once he hears him tell him to do so.After that, the scripture simply adds, ″He returned the young guy to his mother.″ (See Luke 7:11–17 for further information.) Lazarus – Jesus cares deeply about Lazarus and his family, but when He learns of their plight, He decides to wait two whole days before rushing to their aid.

The time He arrives in Bethany, Lazarus has been dead for four days, according to the Scripture.
He opted to revive him from the dead rather than heal him, according to the evidence.
As soon as He arrives at the grave site, He prays in front of the crowd to demonstrate to them that the Father is His source of power, and then continues to summon him out of the tomb.

(See John 11:1–44 for further information.) Jesus appeared to be completely unaware of the events taking place around Him at times, yet He was always completely focused on what He heard from the Father and what He understood from the Scriptures.
He completely succumbed to them, and in the same way that we submit to them, we may do the same for them.
Immediately following His resurrection, Jesus instructed His followers to ″bring the dead back to life″ (Matthew 10:8, Mark 16:17 – 20).
Humans were given this remarkable power through communication.
The Bible is unequivocal: resurrection power is not limited to Jesus alone, or even to the original Apostles, but is available to anybody who can believe and is willing to trust in Jesus.

Take a look at how Paul explains the utmost amount of power that believers have: In order to understand what is the hope of His calling and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints (19), as well as the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to his working in Christ, (20) I pray that the eyes of your heart may be opened, so that you will understand what is the hope of His calling and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, (21) far above all rule and authority and power on earth.
1 Thessalonians 1:18-21 Both Peter and Paul had the ability to revive people from the dead: Dorcas is kidnapped by Peter – Peter is summoned to the scene of the death of a famous local woman, which occurred two days earlier.
He gets there first, prays, and then tells her she needs to get up — it’s as basic, brief, and to the point as that.
Simply like Jesus, there will be no pomp and circumstance, just faith delivered via a command.
Paul in Troas, Scotland – An unnamed young guy falls asleep as Paul (who was not one of the original twelve Apostles) is lecturing late one night and ends up falling from a third-story window.
He is found dead, but when Paul finds him and embraces him, he says that ″his life is in him.″ He is brought back to life.

None of these incidents included a protracted and drawn-out process.
They just ordered the people to get up or to wake up, and they did so without hesitation.
In addition to these events, both Elijah and Elisha were responsible for the resurrection of persons from the dead.
I’ve heard missionaries claim that raising the dead in a third-world nation is easier than raising money, and that raising money in the United States is easier than raising the dead in a third-world country.

We know missionaries in third-world nations who do it on a daily basis, despite the fact that it has become considerably more difficult in recent years.When you have trust in something, you appear to receive it, and when you have faith in something, you appear to find it.That is all there is to it.Ultimately, the only question is whether or not you have faith; whether or not God has spoken to you.

Nothing is a huge problem if you have trust in yourself.Seek Him out and listen for His voice.When it comes to reviving the dead, you must actually hear from God and then follow the direction of the Holy Spirit in order to be successful.

4. What People Were Raised From The Dead In The Bible?

Jesus is said to have risen three people from the grave, according to historical records: ″Jairus’ Daughter″: Jairus, a prominent member of the local Synagogue, begs Jesus to heal his very ill daughter.

Afterwards, the text simply adds, ‘He returned the young guy to his mother.’ In Luke 7:11–17, the Bible says that As for Lazarus, although Jesus is fond of him and his family, He does not visit them for two days after learning of their plight.
Lazarus has been dead for four days by the time Jesus arrives in Bethany.
He decided to raise him from the dead rather than cure him, according to the scriptures..

As soon as He arrives at the grave site, He prays in front of the crowd to demonstrate to them that the Father is His source of power, and then he continues to call him out of the tomb.
In John 11:1–44, we learn that God is love.

Despite the fact that he is found dead, Paul rushes to his side and embraces him, proclaiming that ″his life is in him.″ The proceedings in none of these cases were stretched out for an extended period of time.
Everyone obeyed their instruction to wake up or get out of bed, and they did as instructed.
In addition to these events, both Elijah and Elisha were credited for bringing individuals back to life.

Elijah Resurrected The Son Of Zarephath’s Widow

1 Kings 17:17–24 (NIV) (KJV) 17 As a result of these events, the son of the lady, who served as mistress of the home, became ill, and his illness became so severe that he was unable to take a single breath.
18 And she replied to Elijah, ″What do you think I have to do with thee, O thou man of God?″ Is it true that you have come to me in order to bring my wrongdoing to light and to kill my son?
″Give me the son of thy servant,″ he urged to her.

He removed the child from her bosom and brought him up to a loft, which was his residence at the time, where he placed him in his own bed.
‘O LORD my God, hast thou also brought ill upon the widow with whom I am staying, by slaughtering her son?’ he cried out to the LORD.
He stretched himself three times over the kid, cried out to the LORD, and begged him, ″O LORD my God, I ask thee, let this child’s soul come back into him.″ 22 Immediately, however, once Elijah’s word was heard by the LORD, the soul of the kid returned to him, and he was resurrected.

Elisha Resurrected The Son Of The Great Shunammite Woman

King James Version (KJV): 2 Kings 4:35 Then he returned and strolled around the home, stretching himself over the child’s shoulders; the child sneezed seven times, and the youngster opened his eyes as he did so.
It is reported in 2 Kings 4 that this fascinating tale takes place.
The Shunammite woman was a single mother with no children.

In those days, being barren was considered a huge cause of embarrassment for a lady.
Her spouse was elderly, according to the term, which would suggest that he was unable to generate seed for her.
However, because the Shunammite woman had been really nice and kind to the prophet Elisha, he assured her that she would be expecting a child within a year of seeing him.

God cured her and her husband, and she was able to conceive and give birth to a son as a result of his healing.Later on, while working in the fields, something terrible occurs to her son (perhaps a head injury or heat stroke), and he passes away.Â As soon as she arrived, the Shunammite widow rushed to the prophet Elisha, where she requested that he go to her son and resurrect him from the dead.

A Dead Man Comes Back To Life When He Touches Elisha’s Bones

(King James Version) 2 Kings 13:21 Then it happened while they were burying a guy that they noticed a gang of men; and they dragged the man into Elisha’s tomb, where he was resurrected and raised to his feet.
Someone was resurrected from the grave even after Elisha was dead because of the anointing that remained in his bones after he had passed away.
The prophet Elisha had boldly demanded that he receive a twofold share of Elijah’s anointing earlier in the book of 2 Kings 2:9.

However, once Elisha died, it appeared that it would be too late for him to resurrect twice as many people from the dead as Elijah had previously done.
Certainly not the guys who were about to bury Elisha would have imagined that touching his bones might bring someone back to life.
Clearly, the seeds of faith we plant during our brief existence on this planet continue to blossom and bear fruit even after we have passed away.

Jesus Resurrects The Widow’s Son At Nain

Luke 7:13-15 (KJV) Thirteen And when the Lord saw her, he was moved with compassion for her and told her not to weep. 14 And he walked up to the bier and placed his hand on it; and those who bore him stood motionless. And he said to him, ″Young man, I command thee to stand.″ 15 And he who had been dead sprang to his feet and started to talk. And then he took him to his mother’s house.

Jesus Raises Jairus’ Daughter From The Dead

37 And it happened during those days that she became ill and died, after which they cleaned her and placed her in an upper room.
38 And because Lydda was close to Joppa, and because the disciples had learned that Peter was there, they dispatched two men to Peter, pleading with him to hurry up and come to them.

39 At that point, Peter awoke and accompanied them.
The widows gathered around him, sobbing, and displaying the coats and clothing that Dorcas had sewn while she was with them.
When he arrived, they carried him into the upper room.

Paul Raises Eutychus From The Dead

Acts 20:9–12 (KJV) (KJV) During the long sermon by Paul, a particular young man named Eutychus was sitting in a window, having fallen into a deep sleep: and while Paul was speaking on, he went down with sleep, fell from the third loft, and was carried up dead by the apostles.
10 Paul then fell on him and embraced him, saying, ″Do not be concerned about yourself; his life is in you.
″ 11 When he had returned to the house and had broken bread and eaten, as well as spoken for a long time, even until the break of day, he then left the premises.

12 And they were not a little relieved when they discovered that the young guy was still alive.

A Strong Possibility That Paul Was Raised From The Dead

The book of Acts 14:19-20 (KJV) 19 And there came thither several Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who convinced the people and, after having stoned Paul, dragged him out of the city, believing he had died as a result of the attack.
20 However, when the disciples gathered around him, he got to his feet and entered the city; the next day, he traveled with Barnabas to Derbe.
Despite the fact that the Bible does not clearly state that Paul was dead, it is reasonable to believe that he was dead since the people who stoned him were certain he was.

Whatever the case, this was a genuinely amazing recovery.

Raising of the son of the widow of Nain – Wikipedia

It is written in Luke 7 that Jesus performed a miracle on behalf of a widow of Nain (or Naim), and that he raised her son from the dead.
Jesus arrived in the town of Nain during the funeral rites of a widow’s son, and the young man was resurrected from the dead by the presence of God.
(See also Luke 7:11–17.) Two kilometers south of Mount Tabor, in the town of Nain, lies the setting for this story.

This is the first of three miracles performed by Jesus in the canonical gospels in which he raises the dead; the other two miracles are the resurrection of Jairus’ daughter and the rising of Lazarus, respectively.

Biblical account

The miracle is recounted as follows: 11 Shortly after, Jesus traveled to a town named Nain, where He was joined by His followers and a huge multitude of people.
12 And as He arrived at the town’s main entrance, a funeral procession was about to leave.
A young guy had died, his mother’s sole son, and she was now a widow as a result of his death.

She was accompanied by a huge group of people from the community.
Thirteenth, when the Lord saw her, His heart was moved with compassion for her, and He told her, ″Do not be sad.″ 14 Then He stepped up to the casket and placed His hand on it, while the pallbearers stood still.
″Young man, I say to thee, arise!″ Jesus exclaimed to the dead man as he rose from the grave.

And he who had been dead rose to his feet and started to speak, and Jesus returned him to his mother.16 After that, they were all struck with awe and admiration for God’s might.It was then that they declared, ″A great prophet has risen among us,″ and ″God has come to His people.″ 17 The word of Jesus’ death and resurrection spread over the entire country and neighboring territories.

Interpretation

The miracle took place at the Widow’s Son Church in Nain, which is located on the location of the miracle.
Fred Craddock believes that the raising of the son of the widow of Zarephath by the Old Testament prophet Elijah (1 Kings 17) serves as a model for this miracle since there are various parallels in the details, particularly certain language parallelism, between the two miracles.
The raising of the son of the lady of Shunem (2 Kings 4) by Elisha is likewise eerily similar, as is the reaction of the people to Elisha’s actions.

In particular, the location of Nain is extremely close to Shunem, which has been associated with contemporary Sulam, according to historical records.
As Sinclair Ferguson points out, this is an example of a pattern that has repeated itself throughout the history of redemption.
He gets to the conclusion that the pattern repeats ″Jesus Christ, the great prophet, brings this to its logical conclusion by healing not just by delegated authority from God, but also on his own authority, without the need of ceremonies or prayers, but rather with a single word of power.

Here is the almighty God and Saviour of Israel, shown in the flesh for all to see ″…..After losing both her husband and her only kid, the woman in the story had no one left to rely on to provide for her.Given that she was unable to pass on the property to her children, the death of her lone son would have forced her to rely on the generosity of more distant relatives and neighbours.It is important to note that both this episode, and the one preceding it, of Jesus curing the Centurion’s servant (Luke 7:1–10) serve as foreshadowing of Jesus’ assurance to the imprisoned John the Baptist (7:19) that He actually is, ‘the one who is to come,’ since, ″the dead have been risen.″ (7:22).
