When Was Jesus Baptized Age

At What Age Was Jesus Baptized?

The opportunities I had to interact with the associate pastor while serving as a young deacon at a Baptist church were very valuable to me throughout my time there. Pastor Jim was an excellent listener, and he was also willing to share his feelings with me on a regular basis. The Lord Jesus Christ was the Savior of his oldest son, Joel, when he stepped up at an evangelical (revival) assembly when he was a small kid to confess him as Savior. Believer’s baptism, which is often performed in the Baptist church, is a ritual in which the Pastor immerses the believer into water and subsequently removes him from it, is the next step.

He said to me that he wanted his kid to have a thorough understanding of what Baptism was all about first.

Even though Jim and I am certain that we do not see eye to eye on this topic today, I have a great deal of respect for him and his desire to ensure that his kid understands Baptism.

And this is a worry for each and every one of you who is reading this.

His Kingdom-preaching mission and education of the people officially began at that point.

Why Jesus Took Baptism At The Age Of 30

Because no one knows where Jesus went when he was 13 years old, he chose to be baptized at the age of 30. What he did between the ages of 13 and 30 is still a mystery to this day. During his lifetime, there is no reference of him in the Bible. In the Second Coming of Christ, written by Swami Paramhansa Yogananda, it is said that Jesus Christ spent the years between the ages of 13 and 30 years studying and practicing Indian philosophy and yoga. In addition, a report on all of the foregoing studies has been published in the ‘Los Angeles Times’ newspaper.

The Indian philosopher Osho has also stated that Jesus Christ had a connection to the country of his birth. In the words of Osho, “Whenever one is thirsty for the truth, he becomes accidentally eager in India.” Suddenly, he embarks on a voyage to the East, and this isn’t only a matter of the present moment. Pythagoras traveled to India in quest of the truth on this day 2500 years ago. Jesus Christ traveled to India as well. According to Osho, there is no reference in the Bible of Christ between the years of 13 and 30, which corresponds to virtually his whole life because he was crucified at the age of 33, making this period of his life almost his entire existence.

How Old Was Jesus When He Was Baptized?

When Jesus was baptized, how old was He at the time? Why did He need to be baptized if He was sinless in the first place?

Why was Jesus Baptized?

As a child, I remember asking the same question that John the Baptist asked Jesus when He arrived at John’s house to be baptized. Because Jesus was sinless, He had no need to repent of His sins or be baptized because He had never committed a sin. If that is the case, why did Jesus need to be baptized in the first place? The Gospel of Matthew records that “Jesus traveled from Galilee to the Jordan, where he was to be baptized by John.” In this case, John would have prevented him from doing so by declaring, “I require your baptism, and do you come to me?” However, Jesus responded, “Let it be so now, for it is suitable for us to complete all righteousness in this manner.” “After that, he agreed.” (Matthew 3:13-15.

Witnessed by God

“As soon as Jesus came up out of the water, he was greeted by the opening of heaven, which he witnessed as the Spirit of God descended from the heavens like a dove and came to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matt 3:16-17). Jesus then goes into the desert where he is subjected to three temptations by Satan (Matt 4:1-11), which concludes with Jesus saying, “Be gone, Satan” (Matt 4:10a). “Then the devil left him, and behold, angels arrived and were ministering to him” (Matt 4:11).

Jesus Age at Baptism

The age of Jesus at the time of His baptism is not a mystery because we can read in Scripture that “when he began his ministry, he was around thirty years of age” (Luke 3:23). Immediately after being baptized and praying, the heavens were opened, the Holy Spirit descended on him in physical form, like a dove; and a voice from heaven said, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased” (Luke 3:21-22), and he is led into the desert to be tempted by Satan. Then, and only then, does He begin His ministry, which begins when he is around thirty years old.

John the Baptist’s Mission

As predicted by Malachi the Prophet, “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes,” John the Baptist’s ministry was to prepare the way for the Lord, the long-awaited Messiah, and John had finally completed that mission from God, as written by Malachi (Mal 4:5). After John had completed his task and was imprisoned (Matt 4:12), it was appropriate that “from that time Jesus started to preach, saying,” Repent, because the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matt 4:12).

That marks the beginning of the story; “From that moment on, Jesus started to preach,” and “Jesus continued to preach,” respectively.

In order to accomplish the task for which He had been sent, Jesus declared that “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).

Conclusion

Jesus came to bring sinners back into right relationship with God and to transform sinners into saints while they were still sinners. The only difference is that we confess our faults, but God forgives us of our sins (1st John 1:9). He died for the ungodly, the wicked, and His own natural enemies (Rom 5:8, 10), and that includes you and me, as well as the rest of humanity.

God does not want you to die until you have come to trust in Christ as your Savior (Acts 4:12). You have no choice but to repent and put your faith in Christ, or you will be subjected to the wrath of God.

▶ Jesus was baptized at the age of 30. But it was only because the priests were to begin serving in the temple when they were 30 years old (1 Ch 23:2-5; Nu 4:1-3, 21-23, 29-30)-wmscog – Church of God preaching the glory of Heavenly Mother

For the saints of the World Mission Society Church of God to believe in and witness about Christ Ahnsahnghong, it is because HE has restored the teachings of Jesus that were imparted to us 2000 years ago. To receive Christ Ahnsahnghong, we must first comprehend the reason why the Second Coming Jesus should come in the flesh in the first place. I want you to be able to receive all of humanity’s hope, as well as everlasting life. Those who seek to discredit the truth of the “throne of David,” which the Second Coming Christ fulfilled, assert that “Jesus was baptized at the age of thirty.” Nevertheless, the priests were to begin ministering in the temple when they were 30 years old (1 Chronicles 23:2-5; Nu 4:1-3, 21, 23, 29, 30),” explains the author.

4:2:3 is the number 4:2:3 in the Bible.

First and foremost, the record is not for the priests, but rather for the “Levites.” There is no mention of priests beginning to serve in the temple until they reach the age of thirty elsewhere in the Bible.

However, the verses they offered are not about the priests, but rather about the “Levites” who assisted the priests and performed services in the temple Not every descendant of the tribe of Levi went on to become a priest, though.

The Kohathites, the Gershonites, the Merarites, and others from the tribe of Levi assisted the priests descended from Aaron and served in the temple; together, they are referred to as “Levites.” When Jesus told the parable of the Good Samaritan, He explained that a priest and a Levite both passed by the guy who had fallen into the hands of thieves, but a Samaritan stopped and helped him (Lk 10:30-37).

  • As a result, there is a distinct difference between a priest and a Levite.
  • Furthermore, the Levites were not only 30 years old when they began their service, but they were also men.
  • (1 Ch 23:24-32; Ezr 3:8).
  • Is it true that Jesus followed the orders of Aaron?
  • Evidently, the age “30” listed in the lines they utilized did not correspond to the age at which the priests began to serve in the temple, as is often believed.
  • 7:11 (Hebrews) If perfection could have been achieved through the Levitical priesthood, why was there still a need for another priest to come—one who was of the order of Melchizedek rather than the order of Aaron—to restore the balance of power?
  • Consequently, there is no prophetic reason why Jesus should have begun His ministry at the same age as the priests who began their priesthood under Aaron’s authority.

As a result, it is unbiblical to assert that Jesus was baptized at the age of 30 since in the Old Testament, priests began to serve in the temple at the age of 30; this is contrary to the teachings of the Bible.

  • The Lord Jesus Christ had to go all across Israel, work long hours, have a powerful voice in order to preach to huge crowds, be full of energy and passion in order to disseminate the Good News, and be strong enough to withstand his impending crucifixion.
  • That was my initial assumption.
  • And I looked into it more in the scriptures and discovered that Saul, the first King of Israel, was thirty years old when he was anointed by the prophet Samuel to be the nation’s first king.

And the prophecies stated that Jesus would come in two capacities: as a King and as a Priest.

Let us return to the narrative of the events that occurred immediately following Jesus’ baptism.

We also see the opening of the heavens and the voice of God the Father speaking out loudly from the clouds.

The realization that all of this was absolutely essential – yes, all of this was definitely important – came to me recently.

It was necessary for their father to vouch for them!

He has survived his impulsive childhood and his impetuous adolescence, and he has been a man for ten years at this point (Biblically you were consider a man at twenty years of age, not thirteen as some think.) Afterward, the father would say something to the effect of “I can vouch for him, he is a fine candidate, and he is ready to undertake the obligations of the priesthood.” Yes he would remark, “I am well delighted with him”.

  • Then the Son would be anointed into the priesthood.
  • Isn’t it great!
  • So when Jesus was baptized at age thirty, it marked the commencement of his ministry.
  • And the reason why he was baptized at the age of thirty is because – that is the minimum age for a priest.
  • I hope I have given you new insight into these interesting verses of scripture about Jesus’ baptism.
  • Are you doing your priestly duties?
  • Read 1 Peter 2:9, as born again Christians, we are all part of the Royal Priesthood of Jesus Christ.

All who believe are priests – men, women and even children!

You see Jesus restore the priesthood back to the original it was meant to be, in the order of Melchizedek.

You see, the Levitical priesthood had failed God.

This concept that Jesus started a new priesthood, was recognized by the early church and is proven by the fact that the great majority of Catholic Priests are not descendants from the tribe of Levi!

And if you are a single mom, you are by default the priest in your family.

Now the main duties of a priest are prayer, that is intercession, and offering sacrifices.

And a wife needs to pray for her husband and children.

And we all need to pray for our friends and neighbors.

Have you been praying for your Mom and Dad?

So, no complaints!” Offering Sacrifices – the other duty of a priest.

We need to meet our responsibilities with love and we need to do those random acts of kindness.

Have a great day today.

The baptism of Jesus by John is not necessarily the anointing by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus did not have to be baptized since he was without sin; he was already righteous but he had to be anointed into his priestly and kingly roles.

So both events occurred together to mark the start of the official ministry of Jesus.

One of the important aspects of baptism is that it is a public event, not a private one.

Have you only been baptized as an infant?

While baptism is not a necessity for salvation, it is an act both of obedience as well as a proclamation to the world of your beliefs.

Consider this, if you have children, getting baptize can have a spiritual impact on them!

Getting baptized may help your unbelieving children to believe or at least strengthen the faith of your children.

Now there is a problem with Jesus coming as both a King and a Priest.

However, this dilemma, or I should say this seems to be a dilemma, but it can lead us to a greater insight into God’s prophesies and the marvelous ways he works things out.

Intriguing dilemma that ultimately results in a great fulfillment of prophesy in the person of Jesus Christ.

In our constitution and in our laws, we have a lot of age-related laws.

In our wisdom, we have many age-related laws in regard to drinking, smoking, watching x-rated movies, voting and being drafted into military service, etc.

For example, we do a poor job of enforcing the smoking ban on young teenagers and yet the latest scientific studies show that the younger you start smoking, the more likely you are to develop an aggressive, severe form of lung cancer!

Furthermore, the hazards that young people face when they drink and drive are well known to everyone.

I believe that a person should not be allowed to vote – notice that they should not be able to drink – and that they should not be recruited into military duty until they are 20 years old since this is the age at which you were considered a man according to the Bible.

For example, he claims in one of his numerous religious works that the words do not necessarily imply that Jesus was exactly 30 years old, but rather that Jesus was AT LEAST 30 years old. When Jesus was baptized, he was 32 years old, according to the study done by the author.

When Is a Child Old Enough to Accept Jesus & Be Baptized?

Because he was 30 years old, Jesus decided to be baptized. All rights reserved.) (Photo courtesy of Yonko Mali, 2009; copyright @2009; all rights reserved.) You may be surprised by the outcome of this discussion. It is written in Matthew 3:13, Mark 1:9, and Luke 3:21 that Jesus is baptized. A composite reading from these three gospels is presented here. In the story of Jesus’ baptism, we learn that he was baptized in the Jordan River. Then, about that time, Jesus traveled from Nazareth, in Galilee, and was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist.

  • Jesus saw heaven being ripped open and the Holy Spirit descending on him in the form of a dove as he was rising out of the sea.
  • In these chapters where it is talking about Jesus’ baptism, I was puzzled as to why the statement “Jesus was around thirty years old” was used when he was baptized and when he began his ministry, which I thought was strange at the time.
  • In order to begin with, I simply reasoned that, as a prophet, Jesus should not have been too young, because else his wisdom would not have been readily accepted by the populace.
  • To be on the safe side, I believed that he should not be too elderly, given the rigors of His ministry.
  • That was my understanding until I learned in Numbers 4:34 and Chronicles that a man had to be at least 30 years old before he could become a priest.
  • Moreover, I looked into the Bible and discovered that Saul, the first Monarch of Israel, was thirty years old when he was anointed by the prophet Samuel to be the nation’s king.
  • And the prophecies stated that Jesus would come in two capacities: as a King and as a Priest.

Consider the narrative of what occurred immediately following Jesus’ baptism.

We also see the opening of the heavens and the voice of God the Father speaking boldly from the clouds.

The realization that all of this was absolutely required – and I mean absolutely vital – only came to me recently.

To be accepted, they needed their father’s approval.

For the first time in over a decade, he has survived his impetuous youth as well as his impetuous teenage years.

Yes, his father would add, “I am quite happy with his performance.” Isn’t it incredible?

As a result, Jesus’ baptism at the age of thirty marked the beginning of his public ministry.

And the reason he was baptized at the age of thirty is because that is the legal minimum age for a priest to perform the rite.

I hope I have been able to provide you with some new insight into these fascinating lines of scripture concerning Jesus’ baptism.

What are your thoughts?

You’re saying I’m not a priest, are you serious?

Also read Hebrews, as well as Revelations 1:6, 5:10, and 20:6, among other passages.

And we should conduct ourselves as priests in a manner that is appropriate for our station in life as well as the circumstances in which we find ourselves.

The male leader of a home was expected to serve as the family’s priest.

However, the truth is that Jesus resurrected the old priesthood or, more precisely, he inaugurated a new priesthood based on the new covenant that he established with us.

In order to fulfill their priestly responsibilities within their homes, men must step up to the plate.

If you are a youngster at camp or any other location where there isn’t someone who is suitably serving as a priest, you should assume the role of a priest.

An attentive father must pray for his wife and children on a daily basis.

Also, remind your children that they should pray for their parents, as well as their siblings and sisters, at all times.

In the past, anytime my children were dissatisfied with how I was doing as a parent, I would taunt them by saying, “Well, have you been praying for me?

You will receive what you have prayed for.

We are continuously called upon to perform self-sacrificial acts of love, first for our families, then for our friends, and finally for our fellow citizens.

I hope my letter has been of assistance, and may God continue to bless you and your family.

= For those of you who are biblical academics, you may have noticed that there are actually two events taking place here: first, there is Jesus’ baptism, and second, there is His approbation by His Heavenly Father, as well as the anointing of the Holy Spirit, which marks the beginning of Jesus’ ministry.

And you are absolutely accurate.

Jesus was baptized for a variety of reasons, the most important of which was to demonstrate that his mission would usher in a new covenant between God and mankind.

As you can see, Jesus performed numerous acts on this planet that he was not required to perform, except that he did so in order to serve as an example for us.

The individual who is being baptized is publicly demonstrating that he has repented of his sins and is embarking on a new life with the church community.

Many adults have chosen to be baptized or re-baptized as a result of their decision to become a Christian.

Consider having your child baptized; it will be a benefit to him or her.

As you are aware, we cannot coerce our children into believing in Jesus, but we may show them by our example, just as Jesus demonstrated to us by his own baptism.

Consider whether or not to go through with it.

In general, the Levites were not permitted to serve as Kings, and the Kings were not permitted to serve as Priests.

This will be addressed in greater detail in a subsequent show.

Here is another point of view on the subject of age: the thirty-year-old.

Our forefathers shown remarkable foresight when they decreed that a man could not become President of the United States unless he was at least 35 years old, and that a man could not become a Senator until he was at least 25 years old, respectively.

According to the wisdom of our elders, these age-related rules include a great deal of wisdom, and I believe that we should do a better job of implementing these laws.

Regarding the viewing of X-rated films, we too fail to uphold our own rules on this matter.

It should also go without saying that drinking and driving is extremely dangerous for young people.

Until a person is 20 years old, I believe that they should be denied the right to vote, as well as the right to drink, and the right to serve in the military, because this is the age at which you were considered a man according to biblical standards.

For example, he claims in one of his numerous religious works that the words do not necessarily imply that Jesus was exactly 30 years old, but rather that Jesus was AT LEAST 30 years old. Jesus was 32 years old when he was baptized, according to his investigation.

Why baptize children at young age of 8?

  • A friend of my daughter recently expressed her disbelief that Mormons baptize children at such a young age, at the age of eight years old. This prompted some thought in me. We know from the scriptures that baptism by immersion is required and that Christ set the pattern for us all to follow in this regard. The reason we do not baptize newborns or small children is that, according to Section 29 of the Doctrine and Covenants, “young children are redeemed” through Christ and “cannot sin,” since Satan “is not given the authority to seduce tiny children until they begin to be accountable before me.” But why do we baptize children at the early and impressionable age of eight? Isn’t it better to wait till they are older and, some would say, more capable before making such a life altering decision? It is possible that there are other explanations, but allow me to offer three. Reading D C section 68, whereby the Lord requires that children be baptized at the age of eight, but only after issuing a strong warning to their parents, the first of these becomes plain to us He reminds them that they have a responsibility to teach their children the fundamental ideas of Christ’s message before they are baptized. When children are eight years old, a parent “teach(s) them not to grasp the doctrines of repentance, trust in Christ the Son of the living God, baptism, and the gift of the Holy Ghost through the laying on of the hands,” the fault is placed on the parents’ shoulders. Whoa! It is not enough to merely baptize children when they reach the age of eight. It is our responsibility as parents to prepare our children for baptism by instructing them about the Savior Jesus Christ, how to repent of their sin, about the blessings that come with baptism, and about the blessings that come as a result of receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. This is what we are expected to do in our homes, in church meetings, and at other activities. After that, “their children shall be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins when they are eight years old, and shall receive the laying on of hands,” after they have been properly prepared. At age 8, the scriptures remind us that teaching the fundamental truth of Christ’s gospel, which includes teaching right from wrong, is essential to developing responsibility. At that point, they are also instructed to be baptized. Is this sufficient justification for explaining to my daughter’s friend why we baptize her at the age of eight? No, I believe there is much more to this doctrine than meets the eye. Baptism also enables the baptized individual, whether he or she is eight years old or eighty years old, to form an eternal commitment with God. What a wonderful blessing this has been! A baptism person enters into a covenant connection with God that is binding in this life as well as in the life to come, allowing the individual to be admitted into God’s kingdom if he or she is deserving. However, for me, a particular favorite scripture, which is related with the process of baptizing, not only reveals the importance of 8-year-old baptism, but it also displays the confidence and profound love the Lord has for his children. I’ll explain why later. “The power of the Lamb of God, that it fell upon the saints of the church of the Lamb, and upon the covenant people of the Lord,” Nephi witnesses in a vision in the Book of Mormon’s First Nephi. “They were equipped with righteousness and with the might of God in great splendor,” Nephi witnesses. Consider for a moment what the Lord accomplishes in the life of an 8-year-old kid who is baptized and enters into a covenant relationship with him or her via baptism. One method in which the Savior equips that kid is by providing them with the CONSTANT company of the Holy Ghost, whose function and mission it is to do things such as the following: Provide testimony on behalf of the Father and the Son, so increasing one’s own testimony
  • The Lord will “show unto you all things (that you) should do” — lead you in making decisions and protect you from bodily and spiritual harm. Allow the Spirit to introduce you to spiritual abilities that will be of service to you and others
  • When you are in need of consolation, someone will console you. Justify your acts in front of God – give God approval for what you do in front of God when you act righteously
  • As you fulfill the commandments and keep the covenants you have made, you will be sanctified or purified.

We baptize children when they reach the age of eight because it is the age of responsibility. We baptize children at the age of eight because the Lord desires for them to benefit from the advantages that come from covenant partnerships, both in this life and in the next. The reason why we baptize children at the age of eight is because we provide them with access to the power of righteousness as well as the power of God in their life. That is a great doctrine, and that is a worthwhile and magnificent blessing to bestow upon a kid!
