What Is It Called When Jesus Comes Again

Jesus’ return – the Second Coming

According to Christian belief, Jesus Christ will return at some point in the future, and when this occurs, everyone will be informed of it. His reappearance is referred to as the Second Coming. It will be a remarkable and unparalleled event in history, in stark contrast to his first appearance in Bethlehem as a defenseless infant. There are hints in the Bible about what it could be like, but there is no indication as to when it will occur. In the days leading up to his crucifixion in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago, Jesus talked of his return to the earth.

‘ This same Jesus who has been taken from you into heaven will return in the exact same way that you have witnessed him ascend into heaven.’ The final hours of Jesus’ earthly life also provide a hint concerning the Second Coming.

During that time period, he was seen by more than 500 individuals.

The ascension of Jesus is the name given to this occurrence.

  • According to the book of Acts, they assured the disciples that ‘this same Jesus who has been taken from you into heaven would come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven’ would return in the same manner.
  • Jesus had warned his disciples that no one, other than God, could predict the exact moment of his return, but he also instructed them to make certain that they were always prepared in case it did.
  • Christian scholars have examined passages of the Bible that talk about the future during the centuries that have followed to attempt to determine the conditions under which Jesus would return.
  • It is a description of a complicated, lyrical vision that John has received.
  • It talks not only of the present, but also of the future – including a time when the existing heavens and earth will be destroyed and replaced by a new heaven and a new earth – as well as of the present and past.
  • Because the old order of things has gone away, there will be no more death, sorrow, weeping, or suffering.
  • Others believe that all believers, even those who have died, will be immediately evacuated from the world and will join God in heaven, where they will be joined by all other Christians.
  • According to some interpretations, the allusion to a period of 1,000 years refers to a period of just and peaceful world leadership by the Christian church, which will be followed by a horrific apocalypse involving evil.
  • There is a third school of thought that holds that the symbolic events described in Revelation do not foreshadow concrete occurrences.
  • There are several variants on these views, but the Bible instructs Christians not to get obsessed with these events and their timing, but rather to take comfort in the confidence that Jesus will return to make all things new.

‘He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ says the Bible, which is virtually its final words. Because the old order of things has gone away, there will be no more death, sorrow, weeping, or suffering.

Theology Thursday: He Will Come Again to Judge

In the Apostles’ Creed, it says, “He will come again to judge the living and the dead.” Jesus is on his way back to earth. His “second coming” is also referred to as such. The “first coming” of Jesus occurred when he took on the form of a human person, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. The second coming is the time when Jesus comes to judge all of humanity — both the living and the dead. All those who will be alive when he returns are considered to be among the living.

Every person who has died will be resurrected from the dead and judged, according to Jesus’ words (John 5:26-29).

The Good News

Christian believers will benefit from this decision. Our understanding of Jesus’ final destination comes from Revelation chapters 21 and 22, where he will take Christians to the New Jerusalem, where they will live eternally in the presence of God and where all sin, disease and sorrow will be eradicated. When Christians are living through terrible times, the return of Christ provides them reason to be hopeful. When we are going through hardships, Peter writes that we should be joyful because Jesus Christ will be revealed when he comes back.

The Bad News

The return of Jesus as judge, on the other hand, is bad news for those who are not Christians. If I do not believe in Christ, then I have not had my sins forgiven, and I will be held accountable for my misdeeds in the future. This signifies that I’m in serious danger right now. It is the cost for sin to be separated from God, and because God is everlasting, this separation will last forever. If I have not been forgiven of my sins via the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, then the return of Christ is the worst news imaginable, for my sins will lead me to be driven out of God’s presence for all eternity.

God has Provided the Solution for Everyone

But God has provided the solution for my sin problem, which is contained in the first part of the same section of the Apostles’ Creed, where it says that Jesus Christ, “was crucified” before he rose again on the third day. Jesus paid the penalty that our sins deserve. Those who turn away from sin and put their faith in Jesus Christ as their sin-bearer receive forgiveness of sins and can live in God’s presence. When Jesus returns, he will welcome them into his eternal kingdom. At the end of the book of Revelation, final words are prayer:“Amen.

Not Forgotten: The Promised Return of Jesus

The term “Second Coming” alludes to the return of Jesus Christ, as described in the books of Revelation, Hebrews, the Gospels, and other biblical texts. When Jesus initially arrived on the planet, He was merely a little child. Upon completion of His earthly career, including the crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus went to Heaven “to prepare a place” for His disciples (John 14:3). He also promises His return (1 Corinthians 15:23), during which the first resurrection will take place, He will take His disciples to heaven with Him, and sin and Satan will be annihilated for all time.

The expectation of the Second Coming is something to look forward to.

It’s the climax of God’s plan of redemption, after all.

Belief 25: The Second Coming of Christ

Ultimately, the second coming of Christ is the church’s glad hope, as well as the great conclusion of the gospel message. When the Saviour comes, it will be literal, personal, visible, and all-encompassing. In the event of His return, the righteous dead will be raised from the grave, and they, along with the righteous alive, will be exalted and transported to heaven, while the wicked will perish. When combined with the current state of the world, the practically perfect fulfillment of most lines of prophecy points to the nearness of Christ’s return.

  2. 15:51-54; 2 Thess.
  3. 3:1-5; Titus 2:13; Heb.
  4. 1:7; 14:14-20; 19:11-21.)

What Will the Second Coming Be Like?

Exclusively the most educated are aware of the Second Coming, nor is it a reward only available to the wealthy. Unlike what many Christian communities traditionally thought, it is neither a metaphor or a symbol, nor is it occurring solely on a spiritual plane, as was previously believed. It is and will continue to be a literal occurrence as stated in Scripture.

  • The virtuous dead will rise from their graves and ascend to the cloud with Jesus
  • The righteous living will ascend to the clouds with Jesus and “always be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 ESV)
  • And Jesus will descend on a cloud.

Adventists hold this belief to be true in its most basic form. Jesus will come on a cloud, and he will remain in the skies the entire time. He has made the decision not to step on the ground. The dead in Christ will rise with Him, and the living will shortly follow, as we are all “taken up together” in the same moment in the same place in the same time (1 Thessalonians 4:17). “When Christ, who is your life, comes, you will also appear with him in glory,” says the Bible (Colossians 3:4, ESV). This is further confirmed by Acts 1:11, in which an angel addresses Jesus’ followers after they had witnessed His ascension, confirming the visible way of His return.

Personal

Adventists hold this belief to be true in its simplest form. Rather than returning on a cloud, Jesus will float up in the air. He has made the decision not to step on any land whatsoever. All who have died in Christ will rise with Him, and those who are still alive will shortly follow, for we shall all be “caught up together” in the air as one (1 Thessalonians 4:17). “When Christ, who is your life, comes, you will also appear with him in glory,” says the apostle Paul (Colossians 3:4, ESV).

It is further confirmed by Acts 1:11, in which an angel addresses Jesus’ followers after they had seen His ascension, that He will be visible when He returns. In the same way that you seen Him ascend into heaven, He will return in the same manner (ESV).

Visible

According to Revelation 1:7, “every eye shall see Him” (ESV). The question of whether or not this is genuinely Jesus will no longer be a guessing game. We will be able to “see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great splendor” no matter where we are (Matthew 24:30, ESV). He said to the high priest just before His crucifixion that he would “from now on see the Son of Man sitting at the right side of Power” and “come on the clouds of heaven” (Matthew 26:64 ESV). Jesus will be visible to everyone, including those who have wronged Him, those who have chosen to believe in Him, and those who have chosen not to believe in Him.

Worldwide

We can see from the Bible that the Second Coming is not just a literal event, but also a worldwide phenomenon. As stated in the preceding section, “every eye will see Him”—regardless of the time zone, continent, or other geographical location. Even if it’s difficult to picture something like this happening, with God, nothing is impossible! “For as the lightning bursts and illuminates the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in His day.”, we are informed in the Bible (Luke 17:22, ESV).

No one knows “the Day or the Hour” of the Second Coming

Even while Jesus made it apparent that He will return, He also made it clear that we would not be privy to the specifics of when He would do so. However, no one, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father, is aware of the day and hour in which it will occur (Matthew 24:36 ESV). Even the angels are unsure of the exact day on which Jesus will return. This is analogous to how Noah knew that the rain would come, but he didn’t know when it would start to pour. A deluge would be sent by God to purge the earth of corruption, as He had foretold to Noah (Genesis 6).

  • No creature on the face of the earth will be able to predict when Christ will come, just as no creature on the face of the earth could predict the deluge of Genesis.
  • Jesus utilized parables as lessons and examples to prepare them for what was to come.
  • According to the tale Jesus narrates, there are five wise virgins and five stupid virgins among the twelve virgins.
  • The wise carry extra oil for their lamps, whilst the dumb bring none whatsoever.
  • It was during their absence that the bridegroom arrived.
  • When the five foolish virgins returned, they were unable to enter the building (v.
  • “Watch therefore, for you do not know the day or the hour,” Jesus concludes His warning by instructing them to “keep watch” (v.

It is not our responsibility to know when anything is going to happen since our duty is not to be concerned with “when.” Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, take the Great Commission seriously, and live as a walking testimony – knowing that Jesus will actually return to redeem us and put a stop to all sin and evil for all time is our goal.

Because many will come in my name, claiming to be the Christ, and they will lead many astray, I warn you (Matthew 24:4, 5 ESV).

The events of the second coming are unknown to everyone save God the Father, who knows when they will take place. This implies that anybody claiming to be knowledgeable is either incorrect or attempting to deceive others.

Bible Prophecies Proclaim Christ’s Second Coming

The book of Revelation is written by the author, John, who describes his vision of Christ’s return. “Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who wounded him, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of him,” he declares (v. 7 ESV).

In Revelation 14, he recounts other images from his vision

In this vision, John saw the Lamb standing on Mount Zion with 144,000 others, a number that represents the number of Christians who will stand with Jesus at the end of time on earth, according to the Bible (v. 1). This vision lasts until John sees Jesus riding on a white cloud above him. He descends to the world on a cloud, holding a sickle in His hand, and “swung his sickle across the ground, and the earth was harvested” (Hebrews 4:15). (v. 16 ESV).

In vivid word pictures and poetry, the Bible tells of the triumphant coming of Christ in Revelation chapter 19.

“Then I saw heaven opening, and there before me was a white horse!” exclaims John. The one who sits on it is known as Faithful and True, and he judges and wages war in the name of righteousness.” (v.11) The heavens will open like a throng separating to make way for royalty, and Christ will ride into the sky on a white horse, triumphantly riding into battle. He brings with Him angelic troops, and He will fulfill His promise to redeem and judge the world. “His eyes are like flames of fire, and he wears several diadems on his head, and he has a name engraved on his chest that no one else knows but himself.” (See also v.

  • His robe is stained with blood, and his name is “The Word of God,” which means “God’s Word” in Hebrew.
  • 13).
  • While some believe the blood on His robe depicts the blood of His adversaries, it is more probable that the blood signifies His triumph at Calvary, according to scholars.
  • (See v.
  • When Jesus returns, He will be accompanied by an army of celestial creatures who will also be riding white horses and wearing pristine, pure white garments when they arrive.
  • “He shall tread the winepress of the wrath of God the Almighty,” says the prophet.
  • Jesus’ victory over the nations is a result of the power of His words, which emanates through His lips.
  • A shepherd would use a staff to guide his flock, but the rod will be constructed of iron to ensure that even the most defiant will bow to his authority.

“King of kings and Lord of lords” is inscribed on his robe and on his thigh, and he is referred to as such (v. 16). As a result, the names King of kings and Lord of Lords are inscribed on Jesus’ robe as well as His thigh, so that it may be seen clearly from His vantage point on the white horse.

Symbolism in Revelation

It seems like there is a lot going on in Revelation, and most of it is depicted in symbolism because we do not yet have a frame of reference for the events that will take place. We are aware that symbolism and prophecy are techniques of communicating the most essential truths and expressing the greatest hope for mankind. When it comes to the gospel, which is Jesus’ death on the cross and the promise of His Second Coming, it is a beacon of light in a dark world. Many people see the book of Revelation as cryptic and frightening, yet it is truly a narrative of hope and love.

Revelation does not herald the end of the world; rather, it represents the culmination of the entire tale of human life as a whole.

And throughout it all, the concept of Jesus and His compassion for people is there.

The Second Coming is the Hope of Adventists

To the Seventh-day Adventists, the second coming is so vital that it is included into their name: the term Adventmeans “arrival.” Over 2000 years ago, Jesus was born as a baby in a manger and brought to earth. This is the first Advent, and it is for this reason why Christmas calendars are sometimes referred to as “Advent Calendars.” The second advent, often known as the second coming, is not only the hope of Adventists, but of all Christians worldwide. This gives us reason to be hopeful since Jesus has promised to come.

  • Believe in God, and believe in me as well.
  • Would I have informed you that I was going to arrange a home for you if that had not been the case?
  • The Bible makes a promise about Christ’s second appearance.
  • Adventists hold out the fortunate expectation that Christ’s return in the future will serve as the culmination to our tale on this planet.
  • Because of Christ’s advent, our existence will be perfected and fully realized.

Christ’s Return as a Key Topic in Adventist History

Prior to the Advent movement becoming a worldwide church, the majority of churches thought that the second coming would be a spiritual or symbolic occurrence. It’s probable that it wasn’t even brought up very much. Nevertheless, shortly after the Second Great Awakening occurred in the United States, a Baptist named William Miller resolved to devote more time to studying the Bible after returning home from battle. Miller discovered that Christ’s second coming must be a literal occurrence as a result of his study of Daniel and Revelation.

  • It altered the way Christians saw the present and the future after the Second World War.
  • Miller’s message, on the other hand, had one flaw: it was ambiguous.
  • Despite the fact that it became evident that Miller’s prognosis was erroneous, many individuals wanted to conduct more research to see where he went wrong.
  • To an extent, Miller’s blunder contributed to the resurgence of personal and small group dedication among Christians.

Many of the Seventh-day Adventist ideas were uncovered as a result of in-depth research conducted after this period. In addition, when Christians learned more about the Bible and God’s truth, they became more determined to obey the Word and to continue their studies of it.

How to Prepare for the Second Coming

We must be ready for the bridegroom’s arrival, just as the 10 virgins in Jesus’ story were before him. We are all sinners in desperate need of His forgiveness. It is only by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that we might be admitted to the “wedding feast” (heaven). This preparation is made possible by Jesus, and as long as we have a personal relationship with Him, we will be prepared for His return to earth. If we commit a minor blunder, we will not be disqualified from entering paradise. We won’t have to be concerned about the end of time.

  • We are all guilty of sin and fall short of the glory of God, according to Scripture (Romans 3:23).
  • We are left with the alegacy of sin as a result of mankind’s fall in the Garden of Eden.
  • For this reason, Paul continues in Romans 3 by assuring us that we have been “justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (vs.
  • Additionally, the Bible states in Romans 6:23, “For the price of sin is death, but the free gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • It was Jesus who took our death upon Himself, dying in our place and rising from the dead so that He could return to heaven and serve to us there.
  • Preparing for that life is the same as preparing for His return.
  • We need to get to know Him.
  • Some things that may be done to assist us in this endeavor include:
  • Pray every day, all throughout the day. Pray for the well-being of others. Pray together as a family. Pray in the name of Jesus, who intercedes for you in the presence of the Father
  • Make time to read your Bible. Read the Bible every day so that you can spend time reflecting on God’s Word. In your own prayer practice, make use of scriptures and Bible promises to help you. Recall scripture and make links between it and your contemporary life and experiences
  • Pay attention to sermons and teachers. Make use of free internet platforms to listen to inspiring messages and Bible lectures from all around the world. Find dependable mentors who can teach you profound Bible concepts
  • Attend services at the church. Locate a local church that is comprised primarily of Bible believers. Develop friendships with like-minded Christians who will encourage and support you in your spiritual journey. Keep your exposure to the outside world to a minimum. You are the only one who truly understands how secular actions and experiences effect you. Precaution should be exercised, and exposure to anything that can entice you or interfere with your connection with God should be limited.

Prayer and personal Bible study are highly vital in helping us to grow in our faith in Jesus and in our connection with Him. Bible study and prayer, carried out under the power of the Holy Spirit, serve as our direct line of communication with the Savior we are waiting for. It is the most effective method of preparing for His imminent arrival. Walking this road alongside other Christians is an important aspect of the whole experience of becoming a Christian. Yes, the world is in a state of turmoil.

Sin has taken over the world.

Despite the fact that everything is working against us, we still have hope.

His reappearance will mark the beginning of the process of transforming this planet into the perfect world that it was always meant to be.

The Advent movement got its start as a result of the expectation of Christ’s return. At this point, the Seventh-day Adventist Church places all of its trust in Christ, in His promises, and in the coming of the Lord.

What will happen when Jesus returns / comes back?

QuestionAnswer It is mentioned several times in the Bible, with approximately 1,500 passages in the Old Testament and one out of every twenty-five lines in the New Testament alluding to the Messiah’s second coming of Christ. God’s statement in Amos 3:7, “Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets,” is reinforced by the huge quantity of material devoted to this significant event. Overall, the coming of Christ ushers in what is referred to in Scripture as the kingdom of God—total God’s reign over all of His creation, including people.

When Jesus returns, He will be prepared to wage battle (Revelation 19:11–16), according to the Bible.

The day of Jesus’ return, however, will be marked by the following events: “His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives to the east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be divided in two from east to west, producing a huge valley, with half of the mountain going north and half moving south” (verse 4).

  • a day known only to the Lord—with no distinction between day and night.” It will be bright when the evening approaches,” says the Bible (verses 6–7).
  • Jesus will establish His kingdom on earth, and “the Lord will reign as king over the entire globe” (Zechariah 14:9).
  • This is referred to as the “judgment of the sheep and the goats” or the “judgment of the nations” (Matthew 25:31–46), and it represents the culmination of Jesus’ ministry.
  • In this judgment, those who are determined to have committed a crime are condemned and sent to “the everlasting fire reserved for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41).
  • At this time, there will also be a resurrection of all believers in God, according to the book of Revelation (Revelation 20:4–6).
  • Once Satan has been unleashed, there will be a last fight that will be quickly won by Christ (Revelation 20:7–9).
  • Satan is subsequently doomed for all time to the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11).

People who do not believe in Jesus will be resurrected and judged in what is referred to as the great white throne judgment; they will be sent to the lake of fire based on their deeds (Revelation 20:11–15).

These two passages from the book of Malachi express the essence of this truth: “Unquestionably, the day is approaching; it will be hot as a fire.” All of the haughty and all of the evildoers will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them ablaze.

In contrast, the sun of righteousness will rise in your honor with healing in its rays, because you revere my name.

What will take place when Jesus returns?

How you react to Jesus’ return will be determined by your relationship with Him.

The distinction is made by one’s faith in Christ.

“However, when the Son of Man arrives, how many people will he find on the face of the planet who believe?” (Luke 18:8, New Living Translation) Questions regarding the End Times (Return to: Questions about the End Times) What will will place when Jesus returns / returns to earth?

Judgement Day and the dead are rising: it must be Saturday

According to the Christian cult Familyradio in the United States, Judgement Day has arrived – precisely on May 21. So, what does this signify, and what can we expect as a result?

Can you explain the Rapture?

The second coming of Jesus is mentioned in the Christian New Testament in a verse from 1 Thessalonians chapter 4: “For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the sound of God’s trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first.” When that happens, we who are still living and who are left will be taken up in the clouds with them, and we will be with the Lord in the air for all ever.” Specifically, the Bible is speaking about what will take place at the end of time when Jesus comes, on the day that has historically been referred to as the Last Judgment.

The interpretation of certain organizations of this text is that the dead will rise and walk around, and those Christians who are being rescued will be physically hoisted into the heavens, while everyone else will be subjected to eternal punishment and destruction, as stated in the Bible.

So why May 21?

Last year, an 89-year-old evangelist from the United States named Harold Camping predicted that the rapture will take place on May 21, 2011, five months before the final destruction of the earth. As far as we know, Camping has attempted to determine an approximate date a handful of times in the past and has come up short. In an attempt to determine when the world was formed and when it will all come to an end, numerous numbers and dates stated in the Bible have been used for centuries. The year 2011 is derived from a computation that predicts that the world would be destroyed 7000 years after the Great Flood, which happened during the period of Noah and the Ark and occurred in 3990 BC.

To be honest, if you must have such dates, I prefer Archbishop Ussher, who lived in the 17th century and said that the world was founded at 8 a.m.

What happened to get us to the hour of 6 p.m.

How seriously should we take this?

That we could predict when the rapture will take place is something that the great majority of Christians would reject out of hand. After all, Jesus himself is recorded as stating that “no one knows the day or hour on which the Son of Man will appear” (Matthew 24:36) and that “the Son of Man will appear at an unexpected hour” (Luke 12:40).

The opportunity to have a wonderful time is definitely there – especially when we wake up on Sunday morning and discover why the timing wasn’t quite perfect this time.

Twitter is afire today with the zombie apocalypse. Do weneed to be carefulabout flesh-tearing, brain-eating undead tomorrow?

I wouldn’t be shocked if we see quite a few animals that resemble zombies roaming about the streets tomorrow; a pleasant wave and a hello would be all that’s required. If you are concerned about the rapture, you might want to think about what you would wear if you are one of the fortunate ones who gets lifted into the sky by the angels.

Any tips on coping with a zombie apocalypse if it does happen?

When it comes to surviving the zombie apocalypse, it’s probably too late to do anything but “eat, drink, and be merry,” as Ecclesiastes suggests.

Second Coming of Jesus Christ

The second coming is on the horizon. It is true that Jesus told His disciples that He will return one more time. “Do not let your heart be worried,” the Bible states in John 14:1-3. There are many mansions in My Father’s home; if this were not the case, I would have informed you. I’m going to go set up a space for you. Moreover, if I depart to make a place for you, I will return to take you into Myself, so that where I am, you may be as well.”

When is Jesus coming back?

Jesus will return in a short period of time. No one, however, is certain of the precise hour when Jesus will appear again. The Bible says in Mark 13:32, “But no one knows when day or hour it will be; not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father knows.” It’s interesting to note that the disciples asked Jesus the same question right before He ascended to the Father’s presence. At that point, Jesus informed them that it was not their responsibility to know the times or seasons that were under the jurisdiction of the Father.

As a result, what does this mean for you and me is unclear.

Keep an eye on Jesus and keep your attention on him because the devil is attempting to divert mankind’s attention away from the indications and the nearness of Jesus’ return.

Why is Jesus taking so long to come back?

When Jesus returns, He will do it with patience, because He wants to give humanity the greatest amount of time possible to select and follow Him. Jesus desires that as many people as possible repent and follow Him to the heavenly kingdom. According to 2 Peter 3:8-9, “However, dear, do not forget this one thing: that with the Lord, one day is equal to a thousand years, and a thousand years are equal to one day.” When it comes to His promise, the Lord is not slack as some believe, but is patient with us, not wanting any to perish but wanting everyone to come to repentance.” Additional materials can be found at: Topics related to the Bible Questions about the Bible Signs of the Second Coming of Jesus What is the meaning of the rapture?

Warnings about the second coming of Jesus?

There are a slew of confused non-biblical views concerning the second coming of Christ that are causing confusion among many believers. Will He merely present spiritually to a small number of people? Will Jesus’ second coming take place exclusively in specific geographical locations? Is it possible that Jesus will emerge in the desert? Deceptions will be perpetrated in the final days, according to Jesus.

In fact, in Matthew 24:4-5, Jesus warns Christians not to be mislead by those who come in the name of Jesus and claim to be the Christ of the New Testament. As a result, the Bible is the sole source of information we can rely on for answers.

Will Jesus come back secretly?

Many people wonder how many people will see Jesus’ return when He comes. Christ’s second coming will be a dazzling display of color, sound, and splendor. This event will not be hidden; every person on the Earth will be able to see Jesus. He will return, both personally and metaphorically. “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him,” the Bible states in Revelation 1:7. There will not be a single person on the face of the globe who is oblivious of Jesus’ imminent coming. The way in which Jesus will appear is described by Him Himself.

The return of Jesus is described in verses 30 and 31 of the same chapter as being accompanied by tremendous power and splendor, as well as the sound of a huge trumpet, which wakes the righteous dead, who are then collected from all corners of the globe.

How should we live while we wait?

Christians should remain on high alert, keeping watch and praying until the coming of the Lord. “But take watch to yourselves, lest your hearts be burdened down with carousing, drunkenness, and the concerns of this life, and that Day come upon you suddenly,” the Bible states in Luke 21:34-36. Because it will act as a trap for everyone who lives anywhere on the face of the entire planet. As a result, keep your eyes peeled and your prayers constant in order to be deemed worthy of escaping all of the events that will transpire and of standing before Jesus Christ.”

How will Jesus come back?

We know that Jesus’ second coming will be a literal occurrence, and that it will be exactly like the first time He departed to heaven. When He had finished speaking, while they were looking on, He was taken up into the clouds out of their sight, as recorded in Acts 1:9-11: “Now when He had finished speaking these things, while they were looking on, He was taken up into a cloud out of their sight, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.” And while He was ascending, two men in white robes approached them and said, ‘Men of Galilee, why are you standing here looking up into heaven?’ It will be exactly the same Jesus who was carried up from you into heaven who will return in the identical manner in which you witnessed Him ascend into heaven.”

Will the angels come back with Jesus?

Those who have died in Christ, according to the Bible, will be gathered from all across the world when the angels return with Jesus and the sound of the trumpet heralds their arrival. – (Matthew 16:27, 24:31, and 25:31)

What happens to the righteous at the second coming?

Righteous dead will be brought to life and transported to heaven with the righteous who are still living on the earth at the time of Jesus’ second coming, according to the Bible. ‘For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a mighty cry, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God,’ says 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.

And the first to rise will be those who have died in Christ. Afterwards, we who are alive and still living will be taken up with them in the clouds, where we will be with the Lord in the air. As a result, we will be with the Lord at all times.”

Are the wicked destroyed by Christ’s coming?

It is predicted that when Jesus returns to earth, the wicked who are still living would cry out for the rocks and mountains to fall on them because they will be unable to gaze at the face of the Savior (Revelation 6:15-17). As a result of their refusal to acknowledge God or embrace the message of the Lord Jesus Christ, the wicked shall be annihilated with eternal ruin (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10).

When will we get immortal bodies?

After being turned into eternal bodies at the moment of Jesus’ second coming, or at the sound of the final trump, the mortal bodies of the redeemed will be altered once more. According to 1 Corinthians 15:52-53, “in a flash, in the blink of an eye, at the sound of the final trumpet.” Because the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be resurrected incorruptible, and we will be changed as a result of that. Because this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality,” says the author.

Why is Jesus coming back?

According to the Bible, Jesus will return to earth to reward the inhabitants of the planet and to take many of them back to heaven with Him (Revelation 22:12). “Then the King will say to them on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world,'” according to Matthew 25:34. Jesus, above all else, longs to spend time with you and your family. He invites you to return with Him to paradise, where you will be able to spend an eternity free of tears, anguish, and suffering.

So, what is it that prevents you from placing Him first in your life?

Meet Five Men Who All Think They’re the Messiah

A version of this article appeared in the August 2017 edition of National Geographicmagazine. It is certain that I will be arriving shortly.’ The last passage of the Bible, which predicts the coming of Jesus Christ, has always held a fascination for me. When do you mean “soon”? And who exactly is “I”? I’ve been following seven individuals who claim to be the Second Coming of Christ for the past three years (five are shown here). Using their insights as a source of inspiration and spending time with their disciples as a source of inspiration, I’ve attempted to create pictures that express the human desire for faith, meaning, and redemption.

  1. However, I’ve always loved reading the Bible, and my interest in it has risen significantly over the past decade or so.
  2. As a Christian, I’ve pondered what Christ would think of the world we’ve built if he returned today to accomplish his mission on earth.
  3. Having these ideas whirling about in my brain, I made the decision to begin searching for messiahs.
  4. You may expect that there would be a greater number of persons who profess to be Christ.
  5. Each of these gentlemen is distinct.
  6. For the vast majority of individuals, belief in a greater power is a purely abstract concept.
  7. They have the ability to touch their belief.
  8. One thing that impressed me about some of these messiahs is how steadfast they are in their beliefs.
  9. In some respects, they’re more cohesive than the Scriptures that we have available to us.
  10. However, I’ve always believed that the arrival of a messiah is a key aspect of the Abrahamic religions—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—and that this is a vital part of their beliefs.
  11. So, if one accepts that, why couldn’t it be one of these gentlemen instead?

I hope it will inspire others to think about their own beliefs and who has the authority to define them in the same way. The Last Testament, a novel by Jonas Bendiksen, will be released by Aperture/GOST in September of this year.

Introduction

According to the Bible, Jesus will return eventually, and the world as we know it will come to an end at that time. There are many different beliefs and perspectives concerning the end of the world, but the Bible only provides a few specifics about what will happen. The Bible does not provide a clear response to the majority of issues. We are instead encouraged to be spiritually prepared for judgment at any time and to place our faith in God, knowing that He will make things right in the end.

Jesus Will Come Again

A continuous process of redemption is depicted in the Bible as God’s redemptive effort. Throughout the Old Testament, He directs His chosen people in the direction of righteousness and truth. Jesus’ first arrival marked the beginning of the last phase of the process of salvation, which would climax in the events surrounding His Second Coming. A final judgment will be passed on all persons, alive and dead, at the end of time. The devout will be given new spiritual bodies in preparation for eternal life, while the wicked will be sent into hell for their sins.

The kingdom of God will be brought to completion at some point in the future.

You put your faith in God; now put your faith in me.

If this were not the case, I would inform you straight away.’ When everything is finished, I will come and pick you up so that you will always be with me no matter where I happen to be.” (New Living Translation, John 14:1-4) Associated scriptures include: Matthew 23:39, Luke 18:8, John 14:18, 28-29, Acts 1:11, 3:12-21, 1 Corinthians 11:26, Philippians 4:5, Colossians 3:4, 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 2:19, 3:13, 5:23, 2 Timothy 6:14-15, Titus 2:13, Hebrews 9:28, James 5:7-9, 2 Peter 1:16, Revelation 3:11, 22:12, 22:20, Revelation

When Will Jesus Come Again?

Many events that will take place before to the Second Coming of Christ, and which will serve as indicators that the end is close, are described in the Bible. There will be wars, famines, earthquakes, false prophets, persecutions, and an increase in evil, to name just a few things. First and foremost, the Gospel must be preached to all countries. The temple in Jerusalem would be completely demolished. However, the temple was ultimately demolished by the Romans in 70 AD. Many of Jesus’ disciples believed that He would return within their lives, and this anticipation was confirmed by multiple passages in the Bible, including: “In all seriousness, I assure you that this generation will not pass away until all things have taken happened.

There has never been a wholly adequate explanation to these discrepancies in the Bible, and the timetable of the Second Coming has been a source of heated discussion among Christians since the beginning of time.

Keep your wits about you!

You have no way of knowing when that moment will arrive.” (New International Version, Mark 13:32-33) The event, when it occurs, will be rapid and unexpected: As a result, you must be prepared as well, for the Son of Man will arrive at a time when you do not anticipate him to arrive.

There have been a plethora of prophecies that the Second Coming of Christ is on the horizon. Everyone has been proven incorrect. Verses that are related: Matthew 16:27-28, 24:1-51, 26:24, Mark 9:1, 13:1-36, 14:62, Luke 9:26-27, 21:5-36, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10, 2 Peter 3:8-14, Revelation 1:7.

Be Prepared!

Because no one knows when Jesus will return for the last judgment, we must continually be on the lookout for his return. This concept is made explicitly in Jesus’ Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13), and a number of other of His sayings reinforce this point as well. Verses that are related: Matthew 24:42-51, Mark 8:38, 13:33-37, Luke 9:26, 12:35-47, 21:34-36, 2 Timothy 4:8, Hebrews 9:28, 1 Peter 1:17, 13, 4:13, 2 Peter 3:10-14; 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3.

Resurrection

Everyone who has ever lived will be brought back to life in some way in order to stand trial alongside those who are still alive at the end of time: Without a doubt, I say to you, the hour has come, and it is now, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear him will live. Due to the fact that the Father possesses life in himself, He has also provided the Son the ability to posses life in himself, and He has delegated to Him the authority to execute judgment as well, since He is the Son of Man.

John 5:25-29 (New King James Version) Associated verses: Mark 12:18-27, Luke 14:12-14, Acts 4:2, 17:18, 29-32, 23:6; 24:15-16,21, Romans 4:17, 5:17, 6:5, 8, 8:11, 11:15, 1 Corinthians 6:14-15, 15:23, 2 Corinthians 1:9, 4:14, 5:1-10, Philippians 3:10-11, 21, Colossians 1:18, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 2

Final Judgment

We have every chance to repent while we are still alive, or until Jesus returns to take us home to be with Him (change our ways from evil to good). However, at the end of the day, we shall all be judged. Everyone, both the living and the dead who have been resurrected, shall be subjected to God’s judgment. Even individuals who claim Christianity will be evaluated on the basis of the acts they have committed during their lives (Matthew 7:21-23, 2 Corinthians 5:10). All of those who have led good lives will be awarded eternal life, while those who have lived evil lives will be sentenced to an eternity of suffering (Matthew 5:29-30, 25:31-46, Mark 9:43-48).

We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the physical body and at home with the Lord rather than in the flesh.

Because we must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may get what is due him for the things he has done while in the body, whether good or bad, while we are alive.

The same will be true in the case of the resurrection of the dead.

The New Heaven and Earth

The ultimate effect of the Second Coming will be the fulfillment of all of God’s promises to those who have believed in Him. In the end, Satan will be annihilated, and sin, pain, and death will all be eliminated from the world. And the devil, who had misled them, was cast into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had previously been cast. They will be tortured day and night for the rest of their lives. (New International Version, Revelation 20:10) “Just as the weeds are plucked out and burnt in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.’ ” It is the Son of Man who will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that leads to sin and everyone who is wicked in nature.

  • Then, in the kingdom of their Father, the righteous will shine brightly like the sun.
  • It appeared to me that the Holy City, or the new Jerusalem, was descending down from heaven from God, prepared like a bride who had been exquisitely clothed for her husband.
  • Each and every tear will be wiped from their eyes by him.
  • (New International Version, Revelation 21:1-4) Matthew 8:11, 19:28-30; Mark 14:25; Luke 13:29; John 14:2-3; Romans 8:18-21; 16:20; 1 Corinthians 2:7-10; 13:8-13; 15:20-26; 45-49; Colossians 3:4; Revelation 7:14-17; 11:15; 19:19-20; 22:1-5;

Miscellaneous Topics

Some issues are mentioned in the Bible on a less frequent basis than the topics listed above, but they may give further insight into the events leading up to Jesus’ Second Coming. In part because these themes are not thoroughly described in the Bible, a variety of diverse interpretations have developed, many of which go well beyond any biblical foundations.

The Antichrist

(See also 1 John 2:18, 22, 4:3, and 2 John 1:7) The antichrist is defined as one who lies and deceives, denying that Jesus is the Christ. (See also 1 John 2:18, 22, 4:3, and 2 John 1:7) As at the time of the writing of 1 and 2 John, toward the end of the first century, numerous antichrists were claimed to be already existing in the world, according to traditional interpretation. It is unclear whether there will be another antichrist, but it is possible that his spirit is currently prevalent in the globe.

One or more groups have attempted to transform Bible predictions into propaganda at various points in history by announcing their own interpretations of the identity of the antichrist.

Such accusations, on the other hand, appear to be founded on little more than prejudice and hostility. The Bible provides no hints as to the identification of the antichrist and does not promote conjecture regarding his or her identity.

The Great Tribulation

The Severe Tribulation (Revelation 7:14) is a period of great suffering and anguish that will come in connection with the Second Coming of Christ. It will last for three years. It is frequently seen as a fulfillment of the prophesy of Daniel 9:24-27, which is found in the Old Testament. Psalms 2:1-12, Matthew 24:15-51, Mark 13:14-25, Revelation 9:1-11, 16:13-16 are examples of related scriptures.

The Millennium

Before the last judgment, the Millennium (Revelation 20:1-10) is depicted as a thousand-year era during which Satan is restrained and the resurrected believers reign with Christ before the end of the world. The Bible makes no other explicit reference of the millennium other than this one. Among Christians, there is a considerable deal of disagreement concerning the nature of the millennium, and ideas about it may be divided into numerous categories:

  • Those who believe in amillennialism see the millennium as a metaphor of our current period, in which the Church continues Christ’s ministry and the bound of Satan has already been completed by Jesus in the past. It holds that the millennium will be a future era during which the gospel message will abolish evil from the globe and Christ will rule spiritually for a thousand years before the Second Coming. Those who believe in premillennialism believe that the millennium will be a thousand-year era between the Second Coming and the last judgment. There are two subtypes of premillennialism that may be distinguished:
  • Premillennialism considers the millennium to be the next stage in the advancement of the kingdom of God, occurring after the present age of the Church and before the coming of the new heavens and earth
  • Dispensationalism considers the millennium to be a period during which the Old Testament promises to the nation of Israel will be fulfilled
  • And premillennialism considers the millennium to be the next stage in the advancement of the kingdom of God, occurring after the present age of the Church and before the According to this point of view:
  • Israel’s establishment as a sovereign state in 1948 is evidence that the Second Coming of Christ is coming. Christian believers will be rescued before the Great Tribulation begins (see below), allowing them to avoid the wrath of God during that time of misery

The Rapture

The Rapture (as described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17) is the departure of faithfulChristians (the Church) to meet the Lord in the air, according to the Bible. In terms of when the Rapture will take place, there are three theories:

  • Before the start of the Tribulation, the rapture occurs when John ascends to heaven (Revelation 4:1-2)
  • During the Tribulation, the rapture occurs when the two prophets ascend to heaven (Revelation 11:11-12)
  • After the Tribulation, the rapture occurs when the two prophets ascend to heaven (Revelation 20:11-12)
  • And after the Tribulation, the rapture occurs when the two prophets ascend to heaven (Revelation 21:11-12). The rapture will take place at the conclusion of the seven bowls (Revelation 16:17-21).

The Second Coming in Popular Culture

In recent years, the second coming of Jesus, the Rapture, and other Bible prophesies have produced a large business dedicated to these topics. The Late Great Planet Earth, written by Hal Lindsey in 1970, as well as the Left Behindseries by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, have been at the vanguard of this movement. Other resources include websites, television evangelists, lecture series, movies, and videos, among other things. In certain cases, Bible prophesies are embellished with inventive and colorful embellishments that are mixed with modern political and social views.

The Bible has something to say regarding the Rapture, which you can read about here.
