What If Jesus

What If Jesus? by The Steeles

A Song To Remind You is the title of the album. It is possible that many people have encountered the incorrect Jesus, and they would be startled to discover that He is not political. They are aware of his judgment abilities. There isn’t much information regarding his romantic life. Allow me to pose a question to you. Right now, before you go, I want you to consider What if Jesus chose to embrace the unacceptably difficult? Take the necessary time to repair the breakable. What if he truly cared about us all?

When we focused on our differences, we were in trouble.

What if we kept in mind the reason he died?

Is there anything that looks different?

  1. There are still some who would despise him.
  2. Is the situation different now than it was then?
  3. Take the necessary time to repair the breakable.
  4. What if he burst into tears?
  5. We were split because of our prejudices.
  6. What would the world be like if it were the case?
  7. We all have images in our heads.

We’ve landed ourselves in such a remote location.

Get a little closer What if Jesus chose to embrace the unacceptably difficult?

What if he truly cared about us all?

We were split because of our prejudices.

What would the world be like if it were the case?

Content

The song is written in the Emixolydian mode (anE majorscale with the seventh tone lowered by a half-step).

The E-D/E-A/E chord progression is the primary chord pattern. The protagonist of the song wonders how people would respond if Jesus returned in the current day as ahoboor a kid born to drug-addicted parents, as suggested by the narrator of the song.

Critical reception

In a good review for Billboard, Deborah Evans Price stated that it “may be his most hazardous attempt to date.”

Chart performance

The song debuted at No. 25 on the Hot Country Singles list on November 25, 1995, and peaked at No. 57 on the chart for the week ending December 16, 1995. During this time period, it spent 11 weeks on the chart, garnering uninvited exposure alongside Raye’s then-current single ” Not That Different ” during that time. When it was officially released as a single, it re-entered the charts in November 1996, hitting a new peak of No. 21 on the list for the week of January 4, 1997. Scott Harrison is the author of this piece.

Skye’s book is one-of-a-kind in terms of both substance and aesthetic.

Skye, in his steady and beneficial approach, helps us comprehend the age-old truths of Jesus’ invitation to follow Him in new and fresh ways, while also introducing us to new and creative ideas.

This book was fantastic for me because I am a visual learner.

R.

Skye provides us with an approachable overview to the foundational teachings of Jesus.

gives fresh depth of insight for those who are already familiar with the Sermon on the Mount, as well as approachable footholds for those who are new to their trust in Jesus Christ.

Even while we have taken him personally and taken him seriously on issues like as politics, culture, and religion, we have somehow avoided accepting Jesus seriously on the issue of discipleship.

Skye does an outstanding job of establishing a vision for what it means to be a genuine disciple in this engaging and difficult book. I highly recommend it. It comes highly recommended. ― Jon Tyson, a.k.a. Mr. Tyson Lead Pastor of the Church of the City in New York and author of Beautiful Resistance

From the Back Cover

If Jesus was serious. then why aren’t we taking Him more seriously as a result? After taking a cursory look at how Christians are living today, it becomes clear that we are ignoring a lot of what Jesus had to say about how we should live. Skye Jethani reveals this issue through a thorough investigation of the Sermon on the Mount, which is Christ’s most comprehensive piece of ethical teaching. In the book What If Jesus Was Serious?, the author asks the question: What if Jesus Was Serious? Skye exemplifies how we rationalize away portions of this vital message in order to remain comfortable and justify disobedience to God’s commands.

Hopefully, if Christians begin to take Jesus seriously, we will discover that the rest of the world will do the same as well.

5.0 stars out of 5 for this product This book should be read. It will completely transform your life! On March 4, 2018, a review was conducted in the United States. I seldom take the time to write a review of a book that I have read, but I felt driven to do so for this particular book. This book will have a profound impact on your life. You will never look at life the same way again after reading this book and having it affect your conscience. This book provides you with the biblical facts and then asks you challenging questions at the end of each chapter to help you think on and come to your own conclusions about WHAT JESUS MEANT WHEN HE SAID WHAT HE SAID AND WHAT HE MEANT WHEN HE SAID IT.

I underlined and dog-eared the pages because so many of the words struck a chord with me.

verified purchaseReviewed in the United States on October 24, 2018Reviewed in the United Kingdom It’s a shame since there were several portions of the book that I like, such as living a surrendered life and not holding your life in high regard. The author argues that disciples may be both believers and unbelievers, which I found to be a flaw in the text. Examples: The following statement appears on page 65: “There can be a disciple of Jesus Christ who is not yet a sincere believer and follower of Christ.” In the words of page 67, “If we are not to be convert searchers, but disciple creators.” My issue is, why would I consider myself to be a “disciple maker” if I am not also a “convert seeker”?

  • “Do we attempt to push individuals to make decisions, or do we let them make their own?” Again, if a disciple is not intended to be an unbeliever, why is the author attempting to convert people before they have made a decision to accept Christ as their Savior and Lord?
  • Again, on page 70, the author adds, “My objective is to make disciples of Jesus Christ out of every man and woman I come into contact with.” Later on in the book, on page 71, the author cites Judas Iscariot as an example to support his thesis.
  • This is the viewpoint held by the DMM movement, and it is incorrect.
  • In my opinion, after a person has experienced true regeneration and salvation, it is only then that we should “disciple” them and urge them to go and create disciples.
  • Because they are being addressed as a “disciple” before they have received salvation, it provides that unbelieving individual a false impression of their salvation.
  • Page 72 of 73 According to Nate Bramsen, “Though discipleship and evangelism are typically considered as separate obligations, they should be carried out in concert with one another.” It should be noted that this is exactly what the DMM movement thinks.
  • The author’s conviction in a “pyramid scheme” approach of reaching the entire world with the gospel was the second thing that I didn’t appreciate about the book.

As previously stated, the difficulty rests in his definition of a disciple; since a disciple does not need to be a believer, how can I expect each of “my 33 disciples” to reach a total of 33 others in the span of three decades?

Many missionaries have traveled to faraway countries to spread the gospel throughout the years, yet not a single soul has been saved as a result of their efforts.

Sometimes a missionary comes in after another, and the result of the prior missionary’s labor is visible to the newcomer.

Only God can provide an increase, and He always does so in His own time.

It helps you stay in the Word of God!

Focusing on Scripture, stressing its significance, and kindling it via various types of application are all included in this book!

The author brought to life numerous verses that I had either accepted a cultural interpretation for or had ignored because of the challenge they posed to my everyday life before reading them.

Matthew 16:24 (NASB) – More than meets the eye is conveyed by this phrase.

– Then we have to question ourselves, “What if Jesus really meant what He said?” I am grateful to the author of “inspiration” for clearly articulating and challenging us in such a clear and challenging manner.

When we accept Christ at His Word, we appear different and we see the world differently; thus, we should not be shocked that Jesus meant what He said when He said it in the first place.

When he asks the difficult questions, he wants us to examine our hearts and determine where we are on our spiritual path with Christ.

I’ve subsequently learned that this is the most popular of all the books that have been delivered, and that the guys have requested additional copies.

Some of these lists have been recognized as “mainstream,” and a cultural morality has developed around them, even among those who do not believe in God.

With them, He conversed and fed them.

He loved them and reprimanded them.

He resurrected them from the dead.

He submitted His body to torture and death.

Some of such behaviors are impossible for us to perform in our human bodies.

However, our author continues to tell us that we must talk with, feed, love, and pray for those who are in need, offer our bodies to whatever God leads us to, pray more, and wash the feet of those who are in need.

Ultimately, the book encourages us to return to Scripture time and time again, re-examining our “acceptable cultural morality” in light of what the Bible truly teaches about love and forgiveness.

Purchase that has been verified This was purchased for myself and a few friends.

When Jesus died for us and saved us, how can we not consider every word that He spoke as important. This book challenges us to take his words seriously, to live out a life that is saved so that it might point all glory back to Him.

What if Jesus Came Today?

The gospels tell us that if Jesus came back to earth in corporeal form today, he would not cure the ill, restore sight to the blind, or enable the cripple to walk again, as he did thousands of years ago. If Jesus were to show himself once again among the peoples of the globe, it would not be to cure our nation of racism, drug addiction, pornography, or political division. Instead, it would be to heal our nation of racism, drug addiction, pornography, and political division. His reappearance would not even be for the purpose of healing people who have been afflicted or terrified by COVID-19.

Man has continued to suffer as a result of his sin, but the faithful have been comforted and directed by the presence of the Holy Spirit in their midst since Jesus’ death and resurrection.

“I must be about My Father’s business,” Jesus said in response to those who were seeking for him in Luke 2:49.

Hope for Believers

In the event that Jesus returns today, His presence will be a wonderful reality for both humanity and the church as a whole. One day, the answer to this question will become a reality, and Jesus will return to earth with His church, thereby bringing this age to a close as we know it. God’s Word, found in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, predicts that when the Lord returns, those who have died will rise first, followed by those who are still alive. The “rapture” of the church will occur before to a seven-year period of severe tribulation, during which the church will be destroyed.

When the rapture occurs, believers will be “taken up together” to “always be with the Lord,” according to the Bible.

“We are looking forward to our fortunate hope, the manifestation of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,” writes Titus 2:13 of this day in the life of the church.

We shall accept that the world’s aspirations are misplaced, whether they are based on a vaccination, a political party, or worldly wealth in the first place.

Reckoning for Unbelievers

If, on the other hand, Jesus returned to earth today, it would be a day of reckoning for those who do not believe in him. CS Lewis claimed in The Case For Christianity that “for this time it will be God without disguise; something so overpowering that it will strike either irresistible love or irresistible dread into the hearts of all creatures.” Although judgment will not be fully given on this day, the non-believer will come to recognize that many of the things they have rejected and derided were in fact true.

Prigs, time servers, and unpleasantly aggressive persons, according to the writer Irvin S.

“The salt of the earth” and “the light of the world,” as Jesus described his church in Matthew 5:13-14, are references to his church.

Thus, the planet will be eased on a regular basis when the “salt” and the “light” leave the stage of this universe.

In Philippians 2:10-11, Paul preached that one day “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father,” and that “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.” At no point does this chapter make the fallacious claim that everyone will be redeemed or rescued at the moment of reckoning.

Remember that even the devils on earth, as recounted in Mark 1:24 and 3:11, came to understand the extent of Jesus’ authority and power. Photograph courtesy of Getty Images/jacoblund

Do Our Actions Reveal Our Anticipation?

If Jesus appeared today, the world would experience a great awakening, and the church would get the fulfillment of its great hope! If Jesus came back for His church today, many Christians would be taken aback, to say the least. We proclaim our faith in Christ and the certainty of his return, yet we go about our mission of sharing the gospel to our friends, family, and coworkers only half-heartedly. If we were really expecting Jesus’ return today, we would devote a significant amount of intentional effort to advise individuals in our immediate vicinity on how to be prepared.

God’s word confirms that there is no preparedness or expectation for Christ’s second coming.

In verse 42, Jesus warns us to remain on the lookout since we do not know when he will return to earth.

Skeptics and Naysayers Persist

In many ways, Jesus would be regarded today in the same manner that He was treated over two thousand years ago. He would be denigrated and His worth and power would be questioned by the media, which would dominate the news cycle. If Jesus appeared now, fake news releases would be widely spread almost immediately. As far as the appearance of Jesus is concerned, there are a slew of ideas. Similar to today, when an unforeseen occurrence occurs, widespread bewilderment will sweep the planet, creating a sense of urgency to encourage identification and theory development.

His disciples acknowledged that some people assumed he was John the Baptist, Elias, or even “one of the old prophets” when he first appeared.

Truth in His Scars

Upon his return to the world, Jesus’ scars will be able to be distinguished from other people. According to Zechariah 13:3, “one shall say unto him, what are these wounds on thine hands? ” When he is asked, he would respond, “Those with whom I was injured in the house of my acquaintances.” True messiahs and false prophets will appear in the days leading up to Jesus’ return for the church, according to Matthew 24:24-26, and will seek to fool believers as to his whereabouts in the “desert” or “hidden chambers.” Jesus’ own will not be fooled when He returns in power and glory.

Deliverance for the Faithful

It is said in Hebrews 9:28 that if Jesus returns in bodily form to the world in the future, he will not do so to deal with sin, but rather to save those who are anxiously anticipating his return. Because of the confidence placed in Jesus as Christ and Savior, this will be a day of deliverance for those who have been rescued and designated as righteous in God’s eyes. Most of the world will celebrate the church’s demise when Christ arrives to take it back to its proper place. Two witnesses who will come during the time of tribulation are described in detail in Revelation 11:3-10 by the apostle John.

–Revelation 11:10 (NASB). During the latter days, it is reasonable to predict that the believer would be shunned by society. When our redeemer and Savior appears, we shall be greeted with the same level of scorn, followed by an outcry of delight when we left the scene.

A Great Awakening for the World

The return of Jesus will herald a “great awakening” for the entire globe when he appears again. A new eternity with the Heavenly Father will be opened up to those who have placed their confidence in Jesus Christ. Those who do not have a personal relationship with Christ, on the other hand, will be awakened to the understanding that their time for salvation has passed. Many will be in denial in their lifetime condemnation and ridiculing of the need for a Savior, as they have been throughout history.

  • The fact that He will appear in heaven after His ascension with the scars and wounds from His crucifixion will allow us to bear witness to his deserving of our praise.
  • The Bible informs us in Luke 24:40 that “he showed them his hands and his feet.” These scars are the wounds of a Savior who kept His word and came through for us.
  • If Jesus comes back to earth today, we will be able to testify that the wounds we have received as a result of our offenses are genuine battle marks of His magnificent grandeur.

Collin Raye – What If Jesus Comes Back Like That

He arrived in town on the back of an old freight train. He leaped down the cliff into the purifying rain. Everyone believes he is mad. I’m just a down-and-out account hobo. What If Jesus Was Never Born?

The history of a remarkable man was described by Dr. James Allan Francis about a century ago in a famous sermon titled “One Solitary Life,” delivered by Dr. James Allan Francis. Check to see if you recognize him: He was born in a small village, the son of a peasant lady, and grew up in obscurity. Born in another hamlet, He grew up in a carpenter shop until the age of thirty, when He worked as a carpenter. After that, he worked as an itinerant preacher for three years. He never published a book of his own.

  1. He was never married or had a house of his own.
  2. He had never been to a major city before.
  3. He didn’t do any of the things that are often associated with brilliance.
  4. It took him until he was thirty-three years old before the tide of public opinion turned against him.
  5. One of them flatly refused to acknowledge Him.
  6. He was nailed on a cross in the middle of two robbers.
  7. When He died, He was laid to rest in a borrowed grave, thanks to the generosity of a good friend.

Everything else on this planet, including all the armies that have ever marched and sailed, all the parliaments that have ever convened, and all the monarchs that have ever reigned, has had little impact on the life of man on this planet in comparison to that one single existence.

Would that have changed anything?

What a difference it would make if Jesus had never been born in terms of politics.

Likewise, our ideals of free expression and religious tolerance must be respected.

If Jesus had not been born, there would not have been a United States of America, at least not in the form that we know today.

The world’s oldest institutions were all created on Christian ideals in order to provide students with opportunities to grow in their understanding of the Lord Jesus Christ.

People might eventually build institutes of higher learning, but there would be no Oxford, no Harvard, no Yale, and no Princeton if this were the case.

Even America’s public school system is a product of Puritan education, which dates back to the 16th century.

What a difference it would have made in the world of literature, music, and the arts if Jesus had never been born.

Without Michelangelo, there would be no Pieta by Leonardo, and there would be no Last Supper by Leonardo.

There would be no Gospels and no New Testament, and there would be no narrative of the prodigal son, no parable of the good Samaritan, and no Sermon on the Mount if there were no Gospels and no New Testament.

What a difference it would make if Jesus had never been born in terms of technology and medicine.

Followers of Jesus Christ were also among the first to make significant contributions to the field of medicine.
