• Minute – every awake minute of the day
• Hourly – on a regular basis throughout the day
• Every day – at some point during the day
• Every week – potentially in conjunction with religious services
• Monthly – with sporadic occurrences throughout the year
• On a yearly basis, for special occasions such as Christmas, Easter, or the anniversary of the loss of a loved one
• Rarely – at times of difficulty, such as a death in the family or a financial setback

Are you certain that you will spend the rest of your life with Him in heaven? Assume you were involved in an accident. When you get at the entrance of heaven, you will be asked: “Why should you be admitted?” What are your thoughts? According to the Bible, “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whomever believes in him will not perish but shall have eternal life” (John 3:16). (John 3:16). You may have a personal connection with God right now, and you can be assured that you will spend eternity with Him in paradise.

Living trust is not mere blind belief, head belief or now belief.

Help me be a responsible, growing member of your family in a local church.

I want an intimate, personal relationship with you.

Why Jesus’ Death Changed Everything About Our Relationship with God the Father

Another key point to remember is that, prior to Jesus’ death and resurrection, the Jewish people could only have a connection with God through the sacrifice system that God had instituted (known as “the Law”) (Galatians 3:19-23). Because the Jewish people weren’t flawless (and none of us are), they needed to offer God sacrifices on a regular basis in order to grow closer to God and become more like him. In order to atone for our sins, Jesus lived a spotless life (keeping the law in a way that humans could never do since we are flawed), and then died as a sacrifice in our place (Matthew 26:28).

Once Jesus had satisfied the criteria of the law, our ability to communicate with God was eternally altered.

As a consequence of a thankful heart that yearns to be obedient, we can choose to cease making erroneous choices (as God defines “right and wrong” in the Bible) and to follow Jesus, so discovering the complete and satisfying life that He has prepared for us in His presence (as described inJohn 10:10).

What does it mean to have a personal relationship with God?

QuestionAnswer It is the moment we recognize our need for God, acknowledge that we are sinners, and believe in Jesus Christ that we begin to have a personal connection with Him. God, our heavenly Father, has always wished to be near to us and to have a connection with us, and he continues to do so now. Before Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden (Genesis chapter 3), they had a close, personal relationship with God. It seemed as if they were walking with Him in the garden, talking directly to Him.

• It is a fact that many people are unaware of, or do not care about, that Jesus offered us the most incredible gift: the possibility to spend eternity with God if we place our confidence in Him.
• (Romans 6:23).
• Because of this, those who are in Christ Jesus are no longer under condemnation (Romans 8:1).
• A personal connection with God is one in which the individual incorporates God into their everyday existence.
• James 1:5 says those who have a personal relationship with God should pray for knowledge, which is the most precious thing we could ever possess in our lives.
• Jesus is the one who loves us so much that He gave His life for us (Romans 5:8), and He is the one who has crossed the gap that separates us from the Creator of the universe.
• Then, if you truly love me, you will do what I demand.

The world is unable to embrace him because it neither sees nor knows who he truly is.

Jesus declared this before He died, and when He died, the Holy Spirit became available to anyone who genuinely seeks to be filled with His presence and power.

He counsels us, teaches us facts, and transforms our hearts as a result of his work.

As a result of having Him, we are able to begin to bear the fruit that results from allowing the Spirit to dominate our lives: love and joy and peace and patience and kindness and goodness and faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

As soon as we are adopted as God’s children, we are given the gift of the Holy Spirit, who immediately begins to operate in our hearts.

God’s provision for each day and faith in Him as our source of sustenance are the prerequisites for developing a personal connection with Him.

Is Having a Personal Relationship with Jesus a Biblical Concept? — Preston Sprinkle

My most recent reading experience was rereading Rob Bell’s best-selling book, Love Wins, and I was pleasantly surprised to see how much of it I agreed with. To be honest, I agree with roughly 80% of what was said. The problem is that the other 80% of the information is incorrect and misleading. In any event, what he said when he was killing our precious evangelical cows in chapter one struck me as really poignant. Bell pointed out that, despite the fact that Christians today prioritize having a “personal relationship with Jesus,” the phrase “personal relationship with Jesus” does not appear in the Bible.

• After that, Bell poses an interesting question: “How is it that the thing that we consider to be the most significant about our religion is never referenced in the Scriptures?” It’s an intriguing subject, and he’s partially correct in his assessment.
• Moreover, if you follow the Apostles about in the New Testament, you will see that they never beg anyone to accept Jesus into their hearts or to establish a personal connection with Jesus.
• Is the concept of having a “personal relationship with Jesus” incompatible with the Bible?
• Whatever you mean by the word “personal” is entirely up to you.
• If by “personal” you mean “individualistic,” then no, having a “individualistic connection with Jesus” is not something that is found in the Bible either, according to this definition.
• In contrast, if we understand by “personal” simply that one of the most important aspects of our salvation is entering into communion with our Creator via Jesus —then, yes, I believe it is very biblical.
• In fact, it can be found everywhere.

In one respect, Bell is absolutely correct.

In another sense, though, he is completely incorrect.

We should pursue this a little further, though, since I believe there is something to be gained from Bell’s perspective.

It’s a group effort.

Not in your heart, not on a hilltop, but in your mind.

Take, for example, Paul’s comments in Ephesians 1:22-23: In the end, he threw everything under his feet and appointed him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in everything.

No, God’s fullness does not reside in your own heart, nor does it reside on some remote mountaintop distant from civilisation.

Unless we are part of a local community of Christians, our faith—our personal relationship with Jesus—is incomprehensible.

Personal Relationship with God

God still loves us, even though we haven’t shown him love in return. “In this is love, not in the sense that we loved God, but in the sense that He loved us.” (1 John 4:10; 1 Timothy 6:10) God want for us to come to know him. According to the Bible, God is actively involved in everyone’s life. Because they should seek the Lord, hoping that they would grope for Him and eventually find him, even though He is not far away from everyone of us. (See Acts 17:27 for further information.)

What is wrong with us?

We have all made decisions that demonstrate our tendency to be passively apathetic toward God. ” Like sheep, we have all gone astray; we have each turned to his or her own path, and the LORD has thrown the sin of the whole world on His shoulders.” (See Isaiah 53:6 for further information). Alternatively, God is actively resisted. “And this is the condemnation: that light has come into the world, but mankind preferred darkness to light because their deeds were wicked. “For everyone who practices evil despises the light and does not wish to come into the light lest his sins be revealed.” (See also John 3:19-20.) As a result of our decisions to oppose or disregard God, we experience spiritual death as a result (separation from God).

What did God do for us?

Jesus Christ came to accomplish for us what we were unable to do for ourselves. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whomever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (See John 3:16 for more information.) He came into the world in order to reconcile us with his Father. “Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.'” ‘There is no other way to the Father but through Me.'” (See also John 14:6) As a substitute for us, Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sin.

Peter (3:18) explains that He came from the dead in order to demonstrate that his statements were correct.

What do we need to do?

Each of us must personally place our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Our own attempts to gain God’s approval are insufficient. In His compassion, He rescued us via the washing of regeneration and the renewal of the Holy Spirit. “Not by our deeds of righteousness, but according to His mercy, He saved us.” Titus 3:5 (Titus 3:15) We must acknowledge that we are in need of forgiveness. ‘For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,’ says the Bible. (See also Romans 3:23.) “And the tax collector, who was a long distance away, did not even bother to lift his eyes to heaven, instead beating his breast and pleading with God, ‘God, be kind to me a sinner!'” (See also Luke 18:13) Christ and his offer of redemption must be accepted as a gift on our part.

Where do we begin?

By placing your trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, you may begin your personal connection with God on a deeper level. You might find it beneficial to communicate your newfound faith in words like these:Dear God, I understand that my sin has separated me from You. Please accept my repentance. Thank You for sending Your Son to die in my place. I appreciate it. I now put my faith in Jesus to absolve me of my sins. I accept Him as my Savior and Lord and welcome Him into my life. We are grateful to You for accepting me into Your everlasting family.

What’s Next?

In God’s words: “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so you may be certain of your eternal life, and that you may continue to trust in the name of the Son of God.” The Bible says (1 John 5:13). God guarantees that he would never abandon you. You may be certain that I will never abandon you or forsake you. (See also Hebrews 13:5) God has forgiven you of all of your sins, both past and present, as well as those that you may commit in the future. ” And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your body, He has raised up with Him, having forgiven you all your trespasses and wiping away the handwriting of requirements that was against us and that was opposed to us.

“Personal Relationship with Jesus” – Helpful or Not?

“A personal relationship with Jesus,” says the author. There is no term that is more representative of evangelical slang than this one. We are all familiar with the phrase, yet when asked, many of us have difficulty expressing what we mean by it. I published an essay for another site a few years ago in which I expressed my skepticism regarding the usefulness of the phrase “personal connection with Jesus” for preaching the gospel. I was writing for another blog at the time. What we mean by it doesn’t matter; what matters is that it be heard.

1. “You’ll often hear evangelicals characterize their faith with a cryptic phrase that’s difficult to understand.
2. These sentences had a corporate-speak separation from their substance, which was off-putting to someone who thinks in concrete terms.” (91) This is something I struggled with for some time — a personal relationship with God, to be specific.
3. As if you and God have a hidden agreement?
4. In order to communicate feelings to evangelicals, words were encoded symbols that were used to express feelings to evangelicals.
5. However, this is not the case with regard to one’s personal connection with God.
6. (236) Nonetheless, if our purpose is to adopt better, more biblical vocabulary, it is beneficial to raise questions.
7. As people (many of them came from mainline Protestant churches) sought a more conversion-centered, conservative Christianity throughout the previous century, the number of evangelical churches increased dramatically.

In their research, evangelicals discovered that one approach to assess a person’s spiritual state was to find out how they saw Christianity:

• The question was whether their religion consisted in nothing more than a weekly tradition, packed with dry rituals and meaningless ceremony (high church)
• Or if it consisted in an active “connection” with God via the person of Jesus Christ (evangelicalism)

As a result, evangelicals began to assert that Christianity is not a religion, but rather a relationship with God. With our focus on personal conversion and subsequent change, we distinguished ourselves from other denominations. It was in this context that the phrase “personal relationship with Jesus” came to be used to distinguish between the two sorts of Christianity. As the years went by, praise hymns and evangelistic crusades hammered the slogan into the hearts and minds of Christians everywhere.

Evangelists stressed the importance of the human side of conversion, demonstrating that simply knowing about Christ is not enough.

What is the situation today?

Insofar as we mean a personal, on-going life of discipleship that includes gradual change into the image of Christ, evangelicals are correct to use the expression “life of discipleship.” The Bible teaches that when we are converted, we are brought into a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, who is our Savior.

We are linked to Christ since we have been justified solely by faith.

The use of the phrase “connection with Jesus” emphasizes the importance of communication with God in the Christian faith.

The term has an emotive quality to it, and it has been effective.

The times have changed.

Others have told me that they have a personal relationship with Jesus and do not require the services of a local church.

If you are witnessing to a Mormon or Jehovah’s Witness who also professes to have a personal relationship with Jesus, what should you do?

When it comes to the shifting terrain of post-unbridled Christendom’s individualism, the phrase “personal contact with Jesus” may imply many different things – perhaps too many things, I’m afraid.

Is it possible to communicate the same thing in a different way?
