Who Is Jesus to You?

The beginning of Holy Week is marked by a great surge of bewilderment and a changing of allegiances to Jesus. A few days later, the vast and admiring throngs on Palm Sunday give place to the crowds who are calling for His execution. There are many different perspectives on who Jesus is now; nonetheless, the most crucial issue is: who is Jesus to you personally? Our response to that question will be remembered for all time.

Who Am I to You?

According to Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus takes a poll of His followers and inquires of them about precisely this issue. A couple loaves of bread and a few pieces of fish had just been served to the 4,000 people (after earlier serving the 5,000). The Pharisees and Sadducees then attempted to put Jesus to the test by obstinately demanding that He perform another sign for them. Jesus next moves from the mostly Jewish region of Galilee to the lovely and serene region of Caesarea Philippi, where he spends the rest of his time.

When Jesus narrates the parable about the yeast of the Pharisees while they are journeying there, the disciples appear to be perplexed and display their perplexity.

You still don’t get it, do you?

Even after seeing so many miracles, the disciples were still perplexed by His teachings and lacked trust in His abilities.

Who Do You Say I Am Scripture

When Jesus arrived in the region, he determined it was time to confront the disciples with the truth about His actual character. They knew Him as a kind and kind guy who was also an exceptional teacher, and they were aware of His capacity to cure and perform miracles. As a starting point, he inquires as to who they believe He is. “Some believe it is John the Baptist, some believe it is Elijah, and yet others believe it is Jeremiah or one of the prophets,” they responded. Matthew 16:14 (New International Version).

  • That isn’t all that unlike from the beliefs of Jesus in the present day.
  • Some believe He was a decent, moral teacher, while others believe He was a smart man endowed with supernatural talents.
  • It is Jesus who says that He is God, that He is the source of forgiveness of sins, and that He is the only road to eternal life.
  • As soon as Jesus has finished listening to the disciples’ responses, He confidently asks them the crucial question: “But what about you?” He inquired.

You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God

“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God,” Peter responds on behalf of the entire group of disciples. v16. This was the watershed moment that Jesus had been looking forward to. Initially, the disciples followed Jesus as students, believing that He would prove to be the long-awaited Messiah.

However, in this passage, Peter not only proclaims Him to be Messiah (also known as “Christ” or “anointed one”), but also to be the Son of the living God. They had received a revelation of Jesus’ divinity by the Holy Spirit, despite the fact that they did not completely comprehend His purpose.

God’s Son

In His loud affirmation, God the Father makes it known that He has done so.

John Baptizes Jesus

“As Jesus was rising up out of the water, he saw heaven being ripped open and the Spirit descending on Him like a dove,” the Bible states. ‘You are my Son, whom I love; I am happy with you,’ said a voice from the throne of God. Mark 1:10-11 (New International Version). Not only was this a visual demonstration of the Trinity, but everyone could hear the voice of God the Father addressing Jesus as His loving Son.

Jesus is Transfigured

“.Jesus took Peter, James, and John with Him and brought them up a high mountain where they were all alone,” Mark writes about a second event. It was in that location that He was transfigured in front of them. His garments became brilliant white, whiter than any other person on the face of the planet could possibly bleach them. When a cloud formed and surrounded them, a voice spoke from the cloud saying, ‘This is my Son, whom I adore,’ and the cloud disappeared. ‘Pay attention to him!'” Mark 9:2, 3, and 7 (NIV).

For a little period, Jesus demonstrated that He is the genuine King of Glory.

Make a note of it for later!

The True Identity of Jesus

In His own words, Jesus made it quite plain who He was: “I am aware that Messiah is on his way,” the Samaritan lady at the well declared. When he arrives, he will go over everything in detail with us. “I am he,’ Jesus stated, referring to himself as “I who speak to you.” NIV translation of John 4:25-26. The Jews questioned Jesus about His actual identity for a long time, and he answered their questions. He informs them that “I have come from God and am presently here.” “My Father, whom you believe to be your God, is the one who exalts me and exalts you.

He declared himself to be God by asserting that he existed before Abraham and by addressing himself with God’s sacred name, “I AM.” Related Post: “He is the Great I AM,” he says “So that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” Jesus said of the healing of the paralyzed man after he had been healed.

He was demanding God’s authority and power for himself.

When the shepherds heard the news of His royal birth from the angels, Simeon and Anna recognized Him as the Messiah when they met Him one month after His birth.

Who Is Jesus Christ?

It was clearly stated by Jesus that He was God himself, and that He was the only route to salvation and eternal life with Him. That distinguishes Him from all other religious traditions. If Jesus did not claim to be who He claimed to be, then He would have been the profane teacher about whom the Jews complained. For Hindus, he is only one of a plethora of deities. According to Islam, Jesus was a prophet and a great teacher, but not a divine being. Buddhists regard Jesus as just a knowledgeable teacher and a holy man, and they do not worship him.

They have read and examined the historical record of Jesus and have come to the conclusion that He is not God.

Despite this, everyone is given free will and the ability to make their own decisions concerning the person of Jesus. Our thoughts and decisions concerning Jesus are entirely personal. No one has the authority to make decisions for us. We either believe in Him or don’t believe in Him.

And You Say…

So, who do you believe He to be? While visiting Lazarus’s grave, Jesus informed Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life. I am the Son of God.” Those who put their faith in me will survive, regardless of whether or not they are killed. “Do you believe what I’m saying?” NIV translation of John 11:25-26. This is a claim that only God could make. Martha’s response was, “Yes, Lord, I believe.,” according to verse 27. I am convinced. It is in you that I place my faith, Jesus. This is the most important reality that we may ever realize in our lives.

Who do you consider to be the ruler of your life?

“For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved,” says Romans 10:10, “that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” The procedure involves more than merely reciting the words or agreeing with the facts that have been conveyed.

Who is Jesus in Your Life?

If we truly believe that Jesus is who He claims to be, our lives will bear witness to that belief. It will have an impact on our daily decision-making. It will demonstrate to others who He is. His words are directed specifically at individuals who just make a verbal declaration of faith: “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ yet do not perform what I command? I’ll demonstrate what it’s like to be the person who comes to meandhears my wordsandputs them into action. He is comparable to a man who is constructing a house and who has dug down deep and built the foundation on rock.

  • I want my spiritual life, which is anchored in Christ, to be a reflection of my everyday existence.
  • When my faith is shaken, I feel nervous and deviate from the path He has laid out for me, I want to depend on Him as my Rock and my Redeemer.
  • Blessings for the Holy Week, AnnMarie Consider the following questions: How would you explain Jesus to someone who doesn’t know who he is?
  • What words would you use to characterize your faith and confidence in Him?
  • To learn what you still need to learn, ask Him to reveal it to you.
  • We boldly proclaim who Jesus is via our acts as much as our words.

Love for God and love for others are the two guiding principles by which we are to carry out our new spiritual nature: love for God and love for others. What role do these principles have in your thoughts, decisions, and actions? How do you think about them?

King of Kings

“King of Kings” is one of my favorite songs of praise and worship, and it’s one of my favorite praise and worship songs. Its words take us on a journey from Jesus’ departure from Heaven to the freedom we have today. Jesus, my King of Kings, I will give you praise forever and ever!

Who is Jesus Christ to you?

When I was younger, I was asked, “Who is Jesus Christ to you?” On the one hand, it’s a straightforward question. On the other hand, it’s a rather complicated situation. One’s response reveals a great deal about their perspective on Christianity, God, and their own faith. David Lose recently stated that, since we believe in a God who we cannot see, our experiences in this world may eventually impact our perception of God and the universe. For example, because we live in a violent environment, we may perceive God as a violent God who is on a mission to exterminate and annihilate unfaithful individuals.

  • Who really is Jesus Christ in my eyes?
  • This is what I believed since that was what everyone told me.
  • I had been led to believe that the ultimate objective of life is to embrace Jesus as my personal savior.
  • So, what do you do now?
  • What I’m discovering is that the novelty of “being rescued” wears off after a while.
  • However, as time progresses, part of this goes away.
  • We come with Christians who have been around for a long time yet appear to be passionless and exhausted.

“What precisely am I rescued from?” we wonder while we’re in the thick of our storms, hurdles, and brokenness.

When we’re stuck in a spiritual rut, we may strive to recreate the emotion we had when we first embraced Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Summer retreats and winter retreats have traditionally been held in my family’s tradition.

Obviously, the kids would be dissatisfied if they “felt” as though they weren’t saved this time.

And, in my early years as a youth pastor, I was the one who attempted to create these kinds of moments at every retreat.

After all, it didn’t matter that Jae had accepted Jesus as his Savior for the fourth time.

One year, our winter retreat was about to begin, and one of the normal students had failed to sign up for it.

After a while, it occurred to me that my connection needed to be more than just Rescuer and rescued.

And if Jesus is my Lord, I should devote my life to carrying out his instructions rather than attempting to make Jesus fulfill my wishes and fit into my reality.

In an ideal world, I would follow Christ wherever he went.

What Christ has asked me to do, I carry out.

I’m not going to lie, I’m going to struggle and resist.

Because Jesus is a loving and kind Master who has poured down his life for us.

Whenever I look into his eyes, he asks me, “Child, where have they gone?” Is it true that no one has condemned you?

As a result, when we embrace Jesus as our Savior, Lord, and Master, we are no longer the same people we were before.

It is impossible for us to remain the same once we begin living for Jesus’ purpose rather than our own.

Who Is Jesus to You?

The question, “Who is Jesus Christ to you?” was put to me at one point. A question that appears to be straightforward on the surface. On the other hand, it’s a rather complicated system to operate. This question truly reveals how one views Christianity, God, and their own religious beliefs in the long run. Since we believe in a God who cannot be seen, according to David Lose’s latest writings, our experience of this world may eventually alter our perception of God. In light of the fact that we live in a violent society, we can consider God to be a violent God on a mission to remove and annihilate unfaithful people.

  • I’m not sure who Jesus Christ is.
  • This is what I believed since that was what everyone else instructed me to believe in the first place.
  • Accepting Jesus as my savior had been presented to me as the ultimate goal of life.
  • The next step is to.
  • My experience has taught me that the novelty of “being saved” wears off after a time.
  • However, as time progresses, this becomes less noticeable.
  • We come across Christians who have been around for a long time but appear to be apathetic and worn out.

“What exactly am I saved from?” we wonder when we’re in the midst of our storms, obstacles, and brokenness.

My experience with youth ministry has exposed me to a large number of children who have been saved time and again.

After each salvation experience, it takes about six months.

I was one of those kids who was looking forward to the rush of being saved from their troubles.

If a majority of the children did not accept Jesus as their Savior, the retreat was deemed a failure.

This time it might actually work.

In response to my inquiry as to why he would not be attending this year, he stated that he was “tired of getting saved every year and nothing changing.” When I realized what was happening, I realized our ministry was failing.

While I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior, I believe that he is also my Lord and Savior.

The Wesley Covenant Prayer, “I am no longer my own, but thine,” strikes a chord with me, I believe.

In an ideal situation, I would follow Christ wherever he goes.

That is exactly what I do: whatever Christ has asked me to do!

I’m not going to lie, I’m going to fight and fight some more!

Because Jesus is a loving and gracious Master who embodies all of the characteristics of the word “Master.” I see Jesus Christ in that light.

His gaze is fixed on mine, and he asks me, “Child, where have they gone?” Have you not received any condemnation?

The reason for this is that we’re entrusting our lives to him, and because his grace and love are so overwhelming, they begin to transform us from the inside out.

The only place we can find true freedom is in living for Jesus’ purpose, cause, and mission — in living with Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Who Is Jesus?

What would you say in response? Are you able to provide an accurate response? On the surface, it appears to be a straightforward matter of identification. God, on the other hand, is extremely concerned with how you respond since your eternal destiny is at stake. Take a look at the following questions.

Does God care what I think about Jesus?

It’s because we’re experiencing an issue. Every step of the way goes back to the time when our ancient forefather Adam, the first man and father of us all, was granted permission by God to eat from any tree in Eden, except for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which was forbidden because “in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” (Gen. 2:17). Adam made a mistake. He defied God and ate from the forbidden tree, resulting in his death. Since a result of his disobedience, he and all of his descendants not only died physically, but they also died spiritually, as they were separated from God.

  1. Adam’s descendants bear the punishment of death, which has been passed down to each of us.
  2. We are taught by God in the Scriptures that we are accountable for our sins, and that our sins separate us from Him.
  3. 18:20).
  4. “Your transgressions have estranged you from your God,” the prophet Isaiah stated forcefully (Isa.
  5. God claims that our emotions trick us into believing that we are righteous in His eyes (Jer.
  6. We think that our good acts will be sufficient to please Him.
  7. 64:6).

Does my dilemma matter to Jesus?

God cared about you enough to include Jesus in your life. Consider this: if it weren’t for the fact that the God of justice is also a God of love, we would all be in peril if we didn’t have each other. A solution for death is promised in Genesis 3, the same chapter that accounts of Adam’s transgression. According to Genesis 3:15, God revealed that He had a plan to save humans and all of creation from the consequences of sin, which would include death. For us, God’s plan to redeem us via the person known as the Messiah and Savior is revealed in the Scriptures.

  1. God alone is responsible for providing a path to salvation: “Behold, the LORD’s hand has not been shortened, so that it cannot rescue” (Isa.
  2. The Lord says, “There is no other God apart from Me, a righteous God and a Savior” (Isa.
  3. After Adam and Eve disobeyed God, the blood of animals was shed to provide them with clothing (Gen.
  4. In Exodus 12, it was the blood of a spotless lamb put to the doorposts of each dwelling that protected the firstborn children from God’s judgment of death on the day of Passover.

17:11). As a result of God’s love, a solution was provided to atone for, or “cover over,” our sins through the blood of a sinless sacrifice.

Did Jesus have to die for me?

Animal sacrifices, which were necessary on a yearly basis, were insufficient to completely atone for our sins. The world desperately needed a Redeemer—someone who could stand in our place, suffer the punishment we deserved, and set us free from having to pay the cost for our sin. Jesus Christ was that Redeemer. It was necessary for our Redeemer to be without blemish or sin in order to be acceptable to God as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Moreover, God cares for us so deeply that He sent His own Son, the Son of Promise (Isa.

  1. He would first come to Earth and pay our redemption price: His immaculate blood in payment for our souls, according to Isaiah, seven hundred years before the Redeemer’s arrival.
  2. However, He was wounded for our trespasses, and He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was laid on Him, and it is by His stripes that we are restored to wholeness.
  3. 53:4-6).
  4. 9:26).
  5. Otherwise, we would face eternal punishment and separation from God.
  6. 15:3-4).
  7. So, how does a man go about living a blameless life?

The Messiah is identified as the Lord’s Anointed (Psa.

2:3) in Psalm chapter 2.

2:12).

44:6).

The Lord, via the prophet Daniel, forewarned us that one day He will bring the dead back to life in order to face their judgment, “some to eternal life, others to humiliation and everlasting contempt,” as the Bible states (Dan.

The only way to obtain everlasting life with God is through trust in His Son, who is also known as the Redeemer and the Messiah.

15:6).

After a little silence (Mt.16:15), he retorted, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!” (Mt.16:16).

1:29).

You will face eternal judgment and separation from God if you reject Jesus Christ as your Messiah and Savior, according to the Bible.

God refers to this as the “second death” since it is forever (Rev.

God, on the other hand, adores you!

3:9).

10:9-13, Col.

According to the Bible, if you accept Jesus as your Savior, God will no longer see you as a sinner, but rather as His righteous child (2 Cor.

5:21), and you will have a permanent home with Him for the rest of eternity (Jn. 14:1-3). Will you put your faith in Jesus today, now that you understand who He is? Take a second look.

“Who do you say that I am?”

Who is Jesus to you?

“But who do you claim that I am?” He asked them in Matthew 16:15. “But who do you say that I am?” This is a question that Jesus was asking His followers, but it is an one that He is truly asking of all of us. It is a question that everyone must respond to in some way. It is the only question that counts in your life at this point. I’m going to answer this question in my own way. If you want to answer this question, you must believe that Jesus loves you so much that He would die for you on the cross and take your place.

  1. We are deserving of eternal punishment, but Jesus loves you much too much to allow that to happen to you.
  2. Some will respond rightly, as Peter did, and declare that “you are the Christ.” Some people will just refuse to respond to the question and disregard it completely.
  3. To paraphrase the rock band Rush and their song Freewill, “even if you choose not to decide, you have still made a decision.” Some would argue that Jesus was a historical man, but I believe He died and therefore has no value to me.
  4. God has given you free will to make that decision.
  5. This is something you know deep down in your heart to be true.
  6. “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” Jesus declared in the gospel of John, “and no one comes to the Father except through me.” You can’t earn it by being a good enough person; you have to earn it by being a decent person.
  7. This inquiry comes from Jesus, and today is the day to respond by saying, “You are my Lord and Savior.” What is the best way to let Jesus into your heart?
  8. Please forgive me.
  9. Thank you for coming into my life and accepting me as your Lord and Savior.
  10. In the Bible, it states that if you prayed that prayer and meant it with all of your heart, mind, and soul, you are forgiven and will spend eternity with Jesus in paradise.
  11. On such case, please let us know, and we would be delighted to assist you in your spiritual journey.

God loves you in ways that you will never be able to comprehend. We adore you as well. Please accept my blessing on this occasion! Pastor Brian is a charismatic leader who is well-liked by his congregation.

Who Is Jesus to You?

Transcript of the audio Who exactly is Jesus? It’s a question that comes up time and time again. And there must be as many different answers to that question as there are people who have ever walked the face of the earth, if not more. Even throughout Christ’s earthly existence, the simple fact of his presence was a source of extraordinary contention. Some believed Jesus was God, while others believed he was afflicted by demons. Some people thought Jesus was an excellent teacher, while others thought he was a liar.

  1. Jesus was hailed as a prophet, and he was scorned as a babbling blasphemer, depending on who you ask.
  2. As stated in Hebrews 1:3, Jesus is “the brilliance of God’s glory and the precise imprint of his being,” which means that he is the exact representation of God.
  3. Who is the person who has taken a seat at the right hand?
  4. Who was it that was buried and then resurrected?
  5. What is the identity of Jesus Christ?
  6. What exactly does this mean?
  7. “He is the manifestation of the incomprehensible God,” Paul declared (Colossians 1:15).

Radiance of Glory

But, do you know what’s even better? “He is a precise reflection of the nature of God,” you may remark, and you can be completely mistaken in your interpretation of what you just said. As an illustration:

  • To put it another way, Jesus is the depiction of God the Father in the same manner that a picture reflects a person in a different setting. In fact, you might claim that Jesus symbolizes the character of God in the same way that a royal letter represents the monarch. But that would be incorrect. That would be incorrect
  • Rather, you might claim that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is an exact depiction of God the Father in the same way that a wax mold has an impression that accurately reflects a wedding band. And you’d be completely wrong

For one thing, it is clear from the first phrase that he isn’t any of those things, which makes us realize that it would be completely inappropriate to speak in that manner. In the sense that “he is the brilliance of glory,” he is a perfect reflection of the Father (Hebrews 1:3). He portrays God’s glory in the same manner that brightness represents God’s splendor. Those are significantly different from paintings of people, letters, kings, wax molds, and engagement rings, to name a few examples.

It does not have a distinct essence from the object in question.

He is God, and he is God’s representative.

I’m quite aware that we’re talking about a mystery here.

And we won’t even begin to exhaust or conclude this, but we can get a glimpse of what’s going on. It is possible to break the window just enough to allow us to worship properly and refrain from making erroneous claims about the Son being a creation or a simple prophet.

Four Ways the Son Radiates the Father’s glory

Finally, allow me to share with you four ways in which the Son pours forth or radiates the glory of the Father.

1. The Father and the Son are coeternal.

To begin, let us compare him to the sun, with its rays of light shooting out from it. There is no point in time when the sun is there when its radiant light is not present. They are so intertwined that when the sun shines, the brightness of the sun shines as well, and vice versa. When God the Father exists, it follows that God the Son exists as well. They are coeternal in their existence. Even if the Father did not exist, he may declare, “I believe I will bring into being a Son.” That was not the way things transpired.

See also:  Why Is It Jesus H Christ

There are beams of light wherever there is light.

The brilliance represents the grandeur that is radiating out.

God is the Son of God, and the Son of God is God.

2. The Son is not created or made.

Contrast this with the results of a solar calculator. My thoughts on this were prompted by the fact that I was using one the other night while doing my tax paperwork. And I inquired of Barnabas, “Can you tell me where the off switch is?” “It’s a solar-powered calculator,” he says. Simply place it back inside the lid. “It goes off without a hitch.” Now, what this implies is that whenever the sun or the light from my dining room comes through this small window, a small black number shows on the screen.

And that particular number is not the source of illumination.

The Son is the light that shines on the globe and is responsible for the creation of the world.

The idea is that you produce offspring in the same way as people produce offspring, dogs produce puppies, cats produce kittens, and God produces offspring.

3. The Son mediates the Father.

Our perception of light is mediated by the light’s beams of illumination. At this time in the ceremony, the sun came out and a large beam of light fell directly on around forty individuals who were standing right there. It was really incredible. It was fantastic. If you try to stare up through that window at the sun when it’s bright, you’ll be blinded for a long time, to begin with. Please don’t do it. And that is only a little indication of God’s character. God would also blind you if he wanted to.

  1. It is necessary to engage the services of a mediator.
  2. The light that is shining on your face right now traveled eight minutes after it left the sun to get to where you are.
  3. These beams of light were sent out and landed straight in our faces.
  4. Are you able to see the sun?
  5. What we are witnessing is a ball that has been eight minutes in the making, which has been brought to us by light that has traveled almost 93 million miles from the sun.

However, the sun is shining brightly today, people. That’s the light shining down on us. Moreover, when you gaze at Jesus Christ, you are looking into the face of God.

60 reasons why Jesus Christ is everything to me

  1. He is the source of my tranquility. Outside of that, there can be disturbance and turmoil wherever, as far as I’m concerned
  2. He is my delight. He is my pleasure. I don’t require any other source of happiness since He is the atonement for all of my sins. He has thrown all of my sins into the sea of forgetfulness, where they will remain forever. In the event that I should offend again, He will forgive me since my sin has also been atoned for
  3. He is my justifier and reconciler. He will purify me again and over again for as long as I live. I am being transformed by the work of his death, which is creating more space for the life of Christ in me. He is my Shepherd, according to 2 Corinthians 4:12. His faithfulness day and night, even when no one else cares for me, is my song of praise
  4. He is the only one who deserves it. If there is no other subject or reason for singing praises, He is the only one I can think of
  5. He is my capital. I don’t require any further funds. If that isn’t enough, then nothing will be enough
  6. He is my source of livelihood. He is my insurance policy in the event that everything else fails. It’s reasonable to say that nothing is safe when He is your future. I fix my gaze on Him. I’m on my way to meet with Him. Then I have a promising and lengthy future ahead of me. Hallelujah
  7. He is the only Lord and ruler I have. I have declared Him to be my Lord and Savior in my heart. (15:15) (1 Peter 3:15) In complete confidence in the flawless goodness of His direction and commandments, I have surrendered myself to Him
  8. He has become my father and mother. He is my mother, sister, and brother
  9. He is the personification of my honor. I have absolutely no desire to get any other accolade or recognition. Even if others disgrace and loathe me for the rest of my life, it will make no difference to Him since He is my stronghold and shield, as well as my protector. He is my Master, and I am secure with him. I’m just starting off as an apprentice. It doesn’t matter if no one else is actively instructing me in the truth
  10. He is
  11. He is my guide. It wouldn’t matter if all the others were merely talkers who had not themselves traveled the route, so I could rely on them to guide me, He would still be well familiar with it. He is my captain, and all honor and glory be to His name. Even if no one else empowers me or instructs me on how to fight battle, He is a great warrior and the leader of God’s army, and I can rely on Him. He is no wimp
  12. He is the myrest of myrests. I could still find a wonderful place of rest in Him, despite the fact that my physical body had neither bed nor pillow. He is my storehouse, after all. It doesn’t matter if I don’t have any supplies
  13. In Him, however, resides the entire Godhead bodily, and I am a member of His body, being filled by Him
  14. He is my physician. His ability to cure my body surpasses that of any earthly physician
  15. And he does it only when it is in my best interests
  16. He is my goal – to become like Him and to share in his essence – and He is my precursor. I am not embarking on a perilous expedition in the role of explorer. It is a path that has been cleared, and it is this path that Jesus has chosen to follow. Every step has already been taken by Him in the past. He has been put through his paces in every aspect, just like I am putting myself through right now and will continue to do so. What a source of comfort it is
  17. He is my source of comfort. Because he is my Judge, this level of comfort is adequate for me. It doesn’t matter what other people think of me because he is my preferred meal. He is the source of all nourishment. In addition to being my amusement and pleasure, Hisfleshis actually nourishment for me. All other forms of enjoyment pale in contrast to him
  18. He is my good fortune and source of riches. What He brings my way is always lucky and beneficial to my financial well-being. No one has ever had a greater run of luck and riches than I have
  19. He is my knowledge and my understanding together. It is impossible to find greater insight and better understanding than obedience to Him
  20. He – the Word – is mysword. This weapon is more effective than any other
  21. He is my dependable and upright buddy. There is no need for any other friendship because he is my main focus. All other pursuits are a waste of time and energy in comparison to Him
  22. He is my rock and my basis. He is the one thing that stands when all else fails
  23. He is my life. It will stand the test of time because He is the truth. No reason to question Him
  24. He is my Bridegroom, my forever Beloved
  25. He is my defender, advocate, and lawyer
  26. He is my Blessing and my Hope. I don’t need any additional attorneys since He is the Mediator, and he acts as a go-between between the Father and me. I can communicate with God through Him
  27. He is God’s Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit
  28. He is also theSon of Man, a man who is the son of Abraham, the son of David, and the son of Mary
  29. He is my trueBrother, the most excellent and firstborn among many brethren
  30. He is my High Priest, who has compassion on my infirmities

  32. He is the source of life into which I have been grafted as a branch
  33. He is the chief architect who is edifying me with the others as a dwelling place of God in the Spirit
  34. He is a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, of which I have become a partaker through the cross – an offense to all those who seek to defend their own positions. I have the ability to achieve everything in Him – anything that He has appointed for me
  35. He is the source of God’s strength. It is amazing that He was able to do everything that He accomplished while still being made of flesh and blood like us
  36. He is God’s wisdom. It is a wonderful experience to get insight into what took place in Christ Jesus
  37. He is the Mysterious One of God. Does it come as a surprise that people do not grasp His person
  38. He is my time
  39. He makes it complete. It never gets old or monotonous. Time is no longer wasted since He is my Sabbath. As an alternative to going my own way and “going about my own business,” I choose to put my trust in Him, in His will and work. Due to the fact that I do this every day of the week throughout the year, I regard (as written) all days to be the same. Sabbath rest on a continuous basis! God is to be thanked since He is the Giver of all good things. His presence removes the need for me to keep an eye out for other donors
  40. He is my sanctuary. I can avoid having to rush to broken cisterns when I’m in desperate need since He is the source of my life’s water. “You are the source of all my springs.” According to Psalm 87:7, He is the perfect pattern in all things
  41. He is immutable and without a shadow of a turning. He remains the same, despite the fact that everyone else is as unpredictable as the moon
  42. He is everything to me. That is precisely why everything else is a complete waste of time. It has no significance for me and makes me feel indifferent. Amen

In November 1929, BCC’s quarterly “Skjulte Skatter” (“Hidden Treasures”) published a modified version of an essay with the title “What Jesus Christ means to me,” which was first published in Norwegian. Stiftelsen Skjulte Skatters Forlag owns the copyright to this work.

Who is Jesus for you?

Who is Jesus in your eyes? Have you given Him your full heart and life as your Lord and Master – or is He merely a substitute for your faults in your eyes?

You cannot serve two masters

A person cannot serve two masters at the same time because he will love one and despise the other. (Matthew 6:24; Mark 6:24) You cannot serve both God and money at the same time (the things of this world). A person can separate their religious beliefs from the rest of their lives, but then they are just “going to church” on Sundays and living their lives for themselves the rest of the time, rather than for God. Do you believe that God would be happy with your actions? Isn’t it Jesus’ desire for you to commit your entire heart and life to Him that you understand?

  • People who continue to hang onto something from this world, on the other hand, are blocking Jesus from entering and reigning on the throne of their hearts and minds.
  • 3:3 (John 3:3) Someone who is under the impression that their faith is neither significant or valuable has not been born again.
  • However, when a person is born from above, everything changes, including their spiritual existence, and their heart is given enlightened eyes, allowing them to perceive the world in a completely different way.
  • “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all of these things will be added unto you,” Jesus stated in Matthew 6:33.
  • When we place our priorities on the things of this world rather than the things of God, we are serving the wrong master.

A life with God

First and foremost, one’s relationship with God must be prioritized. When we put our trust in God, he will take care of everything else in our lives, including our careers, even if things don’t always turn out the way we want them to. God has everything under control; our lives become fortunate and fruitful as a result, and we live each day in close association with Jesus Christ. Others, on the other hand, who are lukewarm in their love for Jesus will be spat out of His mouth (Revelation 3:16), since He is fervent in His love for all those who have accepted Him as their Savior.

We don’t have to wait till we have some quiet time before we can pray to Him, either.

By nature, we have a tendency to compartmentalize our lives: here is job, this is recreation, and whatever is left over (if anything) is reserved for my spiritual development.

Is Jesus the Lord of your life, or do you consider him to be anything less? He will not be satisfied with anything less than the title of Lord of Lords and King of King. Choose whom you will serve on this particular day!

Who Is Jesus To Me?

MarkSermonSubmittedPresented34:06 Intro: Our lives are full of unanswered questions. We are presented with a variety of questions, some of which are extremely banal and routine. The queries “What should I dress today?” “Where do you want to have dinner?” and “What do you want to watch on television?” are not the types of questions that we ask ourselves on a regular basis that have long-term significance in our lives. · Some of life’s questions are simply unanswerable, and this is one of them.

  • Consider the following questions, for example: “Will you marry me?” “What will we name the baby?” and “Doctor, what is my prognosis?” These are all questions that have lasting ramifications for the person who answers them.
  • The first inquiry is concerned with what other people have to say about Jesus.
  • The response they give to His first inquiry reveals whether or not they are in the kingdom of God.
  • The answer to this question will influence where you will spend the rest of your life.
  • · Jesus and His followers are said to be in the “city of Caesarea Philippi,” according to the Bible.
  • It is here that a spring emerges from Mount Hermon, which eventually becomes one of the tributaries of the Jordan River, which flows into the sea.
  • As a result of its historical significance as a seat of Baal worship, the city was formerly known as “Balinas.” Baal was the Phoenician deity of fertility and nature, and he was worshipped as such.
  • Pan was a half-goat, half-man deity who was revered as the protector of flocks and the protector of nature.
  • Each year, the people of this city were forced to enter this temple, sprinkle a pinch of incense on a blazing altar, and proclaim “Caesar is Lord!” The temple was located in the heart of the city.

Furthermore, it was at this place that Simon Peter realized for the first time that Jesus Christ was, in fact, the Son of God.

The Lord’s first question is this: “Whom do men say that I am?”

Jesus was well aware of what the public was saying about Him. He wasn’t paranoid, and He wasn’t looking for attention from others. To get the disciples to reflect about their own beliefs about who Jesus was, Jesus used the ideas of the people about His identity to provoke them to consider their own beliefs about who Jesus was. · When Jesus poses this inquiry, his men respond by telling him what they have been hearing from others. They said that some believe you are “John the Baptist,” while others believe you are “Elias,” and still others believe you are “one of the prophets.” Let’s take a moment to dissect their response in more detail.

It was a message of repentance and virtue that both men delivered.

Herod Antipas, of course, believed that Jesus was none other than John the Baptist, who had been risen from the grave, as recorded in Mark 6:14.

Others believed that Jesus was Elijah raised from the dead.

In light of the fact that both Jesus and Elijah conducted ministries that were defined by clear, compelling preaching and persuasive miracles, this makes a bit more sense.

Others believed that Jesus was “One of the prophets”.

The list was lengthy and included luminaries like Moses, Daniel, the prophet Isaiah, the prophet Jeremiah, the prophet Hosea, and others. Jesus proclaimed the Law of God in the same way that Moses did. Jesus, like the prophet Isaiah, talked about sacrifice and holiness. After all, he was “a man of sorrows, and acquainted with anguish,” according to Isaiah 53:3. The message of Jesus, like Daniel’s message, was a prophetic prophecy about a future King and His reign. The ministry of Jesus, like that of Jeremiah, was characterized by compassion as well as brokenness.

That’s what the people were saying, but other voices were also expressing their opinions about Jesus in that day.

The Pharisees and other religious elitists of Jesus’ day were as follows: 20And many of them replied, He is possessed by a devil and is insane; why do you listen to him? These were the Scribes, the persons who were regarded as renowned instructors of the Law: He has Beelzebub, and he casts devils out by the power of the ruler of devils, according to the scribes who came down from Jerusalem to witness this. The Sanhedrin, the governing body of the Jewish faith, is comprised of the following members: 65When the high priest saw this, he threw his robes on the ground and said, “He has spoken blasphemy; what further need do we have of witnesses?” As a result, you have now been exposed to his blasphemy.

They responded by declaring him to be guilty of death.

Even while Jesus hung on the cross, willing to give His life as a payment for sin, the religious establishment continued to demonstrate their hatred for the Savior and His sacrifice.

32 Allow Christ, the King of Israel, to descend from the cross at this time, so that we may witness and believe. And he was hated by others who were crucified with him.

Not every voice in that day was lifted against Jesus. Some people knew Who He was and proclaimed Him openly.

Religious elitists of the day, such as the Pharisees and other religious elitists Many of them replied, “He is possessed by a devil and is insane; why are you listening to him?” These were the persons who were regarded as renowned instructors of the Law: The Scribes. He has Beelzebub, and he casts devils out by the power of the ruler of devils, according to the scribes who came down from Jerusalem. The Sanhedrin, the supreme court of the Jewish faith, is comprised of the following members: As a result, the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has committed blasphemy; what further need do we have for witnesses?” Heard his blasphemy?

66 Do you have any thoughts?

67 Then they spat in his face and buffeted him, and some smote him with the palms of their hands, 68crying out, “Prophesy vnto us, thou Christ, who is he who smote thee!” His own relatives and friends stated:21And when his pals learned of it, they went out to seize him since they believed he was in a state of complete disarray.

32 Allow Christ, the King of Israel, to descend from the cross at this time, so that we may see and believe in him.

The dying thief got it right

42 “Lord, keep my name in mind when thou comest into thine kingdom,” the man replied to Jesus. According to Mark 15:39, the Roman Centurion got it right. The blind man guessed correctly in John 9:38. The people gathered outside of Jerusalem were correct – John 12:13. Even the devils understood what was going on – Mark 5:7. Those were the words spoken about Jesus by some of the individuals who lived at the time.

What are they saying about Him in our day?

Just as there were a variety of viewpoints on Who Jesus was and is now, there are a variety of viewpoints on Who He was and is today. The Muslim believes that Jesus was a prophet, but that He was not crucified on a cross as Christians believe. He will return, but he is not the God of the universe. According to Hinduism, Jesus is only one of millions of gods that exist simultaneously. Jewish tradition holds that Jesus was a great prophet and teacher, but that He is not the divine being that He claims to be.

  1. Jesus was the first baby born to God in Heaven, according to Mormon belief.
  2. Those who believe in Jesus as the Archangel Michael think that he was once the Archangel Michael prior to His advent into this world.
  3. Because the atheist believes that God does not exist at all, he or she has no interest in Jesus or his teachings.
  4. Despite popular belief, society believes that Jesus was a brilliant teacher and that He had some good ideas about loving your fellow man and being nice to others.
  5. Despite the fact that the majority of people accept His existence, they do not recognize His authority or pay Him the reverence that He deserves.

In regards to Jesus, we have heard the views and thoughts of several folks. Before we can put this concept to rest, we need to hear one more point of view from someone.

What does God in Heaven have to say about this man called Jesus.

17 As I looked up, I heard a voice from heaven say, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well delighted. ”

When Jesus was transfigured, God the Father said:

5While he was still speaking, behold, a brilliant cloud gathered about them, and a voice spoke out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well delighted; hear ye him.

If God the Father says that Jesus is His Son that is good enough for me!

After hearing what His followers have to say about what others have said, Jesus asks them for their thoughts. The public has spoken, and now he wants to hear their own viewpoints on the subject matter. Here it is, at long last, the decisive time! Everything Jesus has taught them and demonstrated to them has been building up to this point in time, they believe. The culmination of every miracle had led to this one precise point in time. Every word of truth Jesus gave was a call to His followers to come to this great spiritual fork in the path.

Jesus simply asks, “But, Whom say ye that I am?”

Even though it is a basic question, the ramifications of the answer are profound. If one gives the proper response to the question, they will go to Heaven; if one gives the erroneous answer, they will go to Hell. Peter, as was customary, spoke on behalf of the entire group. “Thou art the Christ!” Peter said emphatically. He got it exactly correct! Matthew’s account of these events includes a quotation from Peter, who says, “Thou are the Christ, the Son of the living God,” Matthew 16:16.16 And Simon Peter said, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God,” and the rest is history.

  • Seeing Jesus, Peter realized that he was the Messiah, which is exactly what the term “Christ” implies.
  • Its literal translation is “The Anointed One.” Jesus was also referred to be the “Son of God” by Peter.
  • It is made even more incredible by the fact that, up until this moment, only God and devils have been able to perceive the Lord Jesus as who he truly is.
  • “And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven,” according to Matthew 16:17.
  • John 6:44 states that this is true in every genuine conversion.
  • Those who are saved are those who have their spiritual eyes awakened by the Lord.
  • 2:8-9).

He was well aware of Jesus’ identity, and he freely confessed Him.

On that particular day, there was a guy by the name of Judas Iscariot there.

Judas died a lost cause, and according to Jesus’ own testimony, he was a “demon,” John 6:70.

No one has the authority to speak for you.

Finally, it doesn’t matter what anybody else has to say about Jesus; it all boils down to whether or not you think He is who He claims to be.

What you say in response to that question will influence where you will spend the rest of your life.

You, my friend, are transgressing the law of the light!

Perhaps you are like the agnostic in that you just do not think that anyone can be certain about such things in this life.

Take a look about you at the transformed lives and realize that individuals do not have the ability to bring about such drastic transformation; it is a God-given ability, 2 Cor.

Possibly, you subscribe to some of the erroneous teachings of cults and other faiths regarding Jesus’ divinity.

“Friend, this is the truth: The Bible says in John 3:16 that we are to love one another.

I said therefore to you that ye shall die in your sins: for if you do not believe that I am he, you shall die in your sins,” John 8:24.

Perhaps you consider Jesus to have been only a great teacher or a great leader of men.

Take a look at what C.S.

“I’m trying to prevent anyone from saying the truly silly thing that people often say about him: “I’m ready to accept Jesus as a wonderful moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God,” C.S.

That is the one thing we are not allowed to mention.

He would either be a lunatic, on a par with the man who claims to be a poached egg, or he would be the Devil of Hell, depending on your point of view.

Either this man was and continues to be the Son of God, or he is a lunatic or something far worse.

However, we must refrain from referring to him as a wonderful human teacher in order to avoid appearing condescending.

He had no intention of doing so.” · Peter came to believe that Jesus was God, Lord, and Savior, and he was rescued as a result of his faith.

They were all rescued because of the Lord and Savior.

The question for today is, what do you think about Jesus to be true?

You will either accept Him or reject Him, but you will make a decision about Jesus Christ today, so make your decision now.

“Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God,” could you possibly say?

“I am certain that You are my Savior.” “I reject You, Jesus,” you’d have to proclaim, despite the overwhelming evidence in your favor.

What will the location be? Will you be a part of the heavenly kingdom? Alternatively, do you want to go to Hell?

Whom Do Men Say that I am?

In verses 30 and 31, Jesus instructed His followers not to inform anybody. He did this since he didn’t have enough time. Were they to have gone across the country teaching that Jesus was the Messiah, it is likely that resistance would have developed to such a level that Jesus would have been unable to accomplish His task. His work has been fulfilled, and He has commanded us to tell the rest of the world about Him. That is exactly what I attempted to accomplish today. First and foremost, answer this question: “Who is Jesus to you?” Before you even begin to think about it, answer this question: What is your response to this question?

Is He your personal Savior? Is He your lord or your master? Is He a wonderful teacher and a great leader of men? Do you think so? Is He a good example to follow? Is He a myth or a reality? Is your life a reflection of the person you claim Jesus to be?
