Where Is Jesus and What Is He Doing Right Now?

What is Jesus up to these days and where has he gone? Would you know what to say if someone came up to you and asked you these questions? It is more probable than ever before that you will be asked these kind of inquiries. For example, during the last 10 years, the number of web searches for the subject “Where Is Jesus Now?” has more than tripled. People are perplexed as to who Jesus is. What would you tell them if you were in their shoes?

Where Is Jesus Now?

In order to answer the question, “Where Is Jesus Now?” we must first consider where Jesus is not.

Jesus is not on the cross.

Although we may have a mental image of Jesus on the cross, he is no longer there. In history, the cross was a singular historical event that split all of history and all of mankind. The cross has ramifications for each and every one of us. On the other hand, as compared to the entirety of eternity, Jesus’ time on the cross was rather brief.

Jesus is not in hell.

“He was crucified, died, and was buried,” according to the Apostles’ Creed. He was sent into the depths of hell. “On the third day, he arose from the dead,” says the Bible. So, sure, Jesus did descend into hell when he died, but, as with the cross, he is no longer present in that place.

Jesus is not coming out of the grave.

On Resurrection Sunday, we commemorate Jesus’ triumphant resurrection from the dead. By his resurrection, Jesus overcame sin and death, and this was a one-of-a-kind event. However, Jesus did not die just for the sake of being risen. The resurrection is not the pinnacle of Christian belief–there is more to it than that.

Jesus is not on the earth.

“He appeared to them for a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God,” according to Acts 1, after Jesus was risen from the dead. After that, “he was snatched up right in front of their very eyes.” In his stead, Jesus dispatched the Holy Spirit to act as his representative on earth. And so, if Jesus is not on the cross, is not in hell, is not rising from the tomb, and is not on earth, then where has he gone to hide himself? “He resurrected him from the dead and enthroned him at his right side in the celestial realms,” according to Ephesians 1:20.

Jesus is seated with God.

In the celestial regions, Jesus is seated at God’s right hand, at the right hand of the Father. According to the Book of Ephesians, the following is what is so unique about Jesus’ current location:

Jesus is far and away the most powerful person on the planet. Not even a smidgeon above. Farabove
And not simply far beyond certain rules and authorities, but far above all of them. Far and away above all rules and authorities
And not only far and away from all rules and authorities. Power and dominion are nothing compared to what he possesses.

And not only that, but he is far and away the most important title that can be given:

Not just in this generation, but also in the generation to follow
Every title we can imagine of bestowing on dignitaries, luminaries, and leaders, whether in the present or in the future, is surpassed by this one.

Not only that, but there’s also:

Moreover, Jesus is sitting at the right side of the Father because God has placed all things beneath his feet
And God has assigned Jesus to be the head of everything so that He fills everything in every way.

Because of all the magnificent implications of Jesus’ heavenly position, I’m finding it difficult to keep my emotions under control. However, this raises another concern.

What Is Jesus Doing Now?

The answer to the question, “What is Jesus doing right now?” is of utmost importance. If Jesus has been dead for a long time in a tomb, it makes no difference how we spend our lives beyond attempting to “memorialize” him in the manner in which we say of deceased individuals, “I’m going to do this because Grandma would have liked it.” As for Jesus, he can’t accomplish much in terms of the entire universe if he is a fragile flappy angel (not the way angels truly are, but the way we believe them to be), cheerfully flittering away and only worrying about what melody to play on his harp.

Jesus, on the other hand, is neither dead nor fragile flappy. Here are seven things I believe Jesus is doing right now, according to my understanding:

Living, reigning, interceding, and edifying the church are all part of the job description. Having a strong presence in relationships
Bringing all things beneath his feet
And inviting unbelievers to salvation are some of the things that God does.

Is it accurate to say that Jesus was on earth before ascending into the skies, much like a spaceman?
Don’t we seem to be a little wiser now?

This is the genuine deal!

We are linked to the entire Christ and are fed by the entirety of the Christ.

Where is Jesus now?

“Where is Jesus Now?”

The question we’re asking ourselves today is, “Where is Jesus in the middle of the crisis?” and, more specifically, “Where is Jesus now?” It occurs to us that there are a few of possible responses that are biblical in their interpretation. In response to the first point, some people may answer “well, he’s in my heart.” As a result, Jesus is in my heart right now, even in the middle of the crisis, since he dwells in my heart and I am aware that he is in me. That’s not a bad response to give. We should fix our thoughts on things above, on the fact that Christ sits at the right side of the Father.

What evidence do we have that he is there in the flesh?

Touch me and you will realize that a spirit does not have flesh and bones like you perceive that I do.

He urges Thomas to come up close and touch him.

Following his resurrection and ascension, Jesus is now manifested in the physical world.

Not only that, but he also reigns as a human being, interceding on our behalf, bringing life to his Church.

The compassionate God-man understands what it’s like for humans to be in a state of crisis on Earth, despite the fact that he exists outside of the space-time continuum.

He represents the beginning of a new creation.

We are told in the New Testament that he is governing on our behalf and that he is interceding on our behalf.

“When are we going to be able to leave?” says one of the children.

What about the federal government?

“Who’s the mayor?” It’s quite difficult to figure out who is truly in command at the present time.

To finish, let’s have a look at several verses from the New Testament that illustrate this concept.

According to what Paul is teaching us, Christ is governing at the right hand of God in the flesh, as we have seen in the previous verses, as a human being, as the God-Man.

He has complete control over all of the powers that we can see or not see.

More than that, as the head of the Church, he is bringing everything under his control.

First, Peter 3 pushes it a little farther than the previous verses.

He sits at the right hand of God, and all of God’s angels, authorities, and powers have been subordinated to his will and authority.

He is in the presence of God, at the right hand of the Almighty.

One who resembles us sits at the right hand of God, governing on our behalf, in command and in charge of the situation.

It’s not some airy, transitory concept to be taken lightly.

It is, in fact, a human being.

Feel free to touch me and see what happens.

It is still totally comprised of a body.

He is not just reigning on our behalf, but also on the behalf of the entire world.

He is interceding on our behalf as a human being in the flesh, who has been exalted.

Our prayers are being answered by the One who has complete authority over all things.

Christ Jesus is the one who died on the cross for us.

This was not something that God came up with on the spur of the moment.

This may be demonstrated simply by referring to an Old Testament verse.

This is what is written in the psalm: “The LORD said to my Lord, ‘Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.'” Essentially, this Psalm is stating that the son of David will ascend to the position of Lord of King David, will sit at the right hand of God, and will have authority over all things.

It is not only about the past, but also about the future.
We are aware that death is the final adversary to be defeated, and that Jesus is currently interceding on our behalf, reigning on our behalf, and sending the Holy Spirit.
Contemplating and focusing our thoughts on the things above, namely Christ, who is ruling, interceding, and enlivening us right now, is the most effective approach for us to develop in Christ right now.
“This is becoming very difficult.” There are so many wonderful things to focus on that it will help to relax our minds and emotions.

The question “what will happen in our world in the following days, weeks, months, and years” may remain unanswered, but we do know who is in control, and that person is governing on our behalf in the meanwhile.

The Ascension: Where Is Jesus Now?

Texts: Luke 24:36-53, John 16:4-33, Hebrews 10:11-14, and other passages. While growing up in Michigan, with blonde braids and denim overalls, I was convinced that heaven must be a wonderful place, and that I would almost certainly see all of the animals I adored there. Worshipping and bowing before a massive throne for the rest of my life was something I was less certain about. And I was skeptical about angels and beasts saying, “Holy, holy, holy” (Revelation 4:8). The world has a lot to say about heaven, but much like my childhood vision, it’s often far more informed by wistful thinking than by Scripture.

I love having firm answers to biblical questions.
The concept of Christ ascended to heaven could make us feel like Christ has disappeared from earth, but His ascension to His place at God’s right hand actually changes everything.
Jesus, on the other hand, does have a body, and He ascended in that body to His Father in heaven (Luke 24:39).
Scripture also gives a glimpse, however limited, of the future awaiting us when our own bodies are raised even as Jesus was (I Corinthians 15:52; Romans 6:4).
We don’t know all the details of what heaven looks like, or how it will feel to be in the presence of God (though I reckon it’s going to be good!).

A Living, Active High Priest

If Jesus has been in heaven for the last 2,000 years—through the collapse of Rome, the horrific Crusades, the Renaissance, World Wars I and II, and the dawning of the Information Age—what has He been doing with His time? What has He been doing with His time? The answer to this issue can be found in one of the most crucial positions Christ now occupies. Jesus Christ is referred to as the High Priest, which is one of several positions and titles that He has, including those of Prince of Peace, Savior, Apostle, King of kings, and Lord of lords.
