The Advent Storybook: 25 Bible Stories Showing Why Jesus Came (Bible Storybook Series): Richie, Laura, Dale, Ian: 9780830776085: Amazon.com: Books

5.0 stars out of 5 for this product This is an outstanding resource for families! On October 20, 2018, a review was conducted in the United States. I got the book in October and have not yet utilized it with my children (ages 2-7); however, I plan to do so in December. I’m already looking forward to the visuals and the overall substance. Each page begins with the scriptural reference for the narrative, as well as an additional verse that refers to Christ as the center of the story. The tale is succinct and straightforward to read.

I appreciate that it has a lot of information without requiring a long time to read.

Parents of toddlers can, if required, pass through portions of the information while still instilling truth in their children.

My children, on the other hand, are quite familiar with the content and visuals.

  1. My family and I enjoyed reading The Advent Storybook, which I would suggest to other families.
  2. Both of these are little features that many other works overlook.
  3. Hopefully, The Advent Storybook will be a happy medium – one that does not sacrifice truth in the process!
  4. Following that, we aim to preview The Easter Storybook!
  5. If you haven’t already, watch the video in the description; it’s really informative.

On November 3, 2018, a review was published in the United States, confirming the purchase. I’ll preface this by mentioning that I’m not very religious. As a result of having grown up in a deeply religious home, I continue to take my children to church and want to teach them about the non-commercial aspects of Christmas. My children are (nearly) three and five years old, respectively. I was hoped that this book would be the ideal companion to our Lego Advent (commercial side of the Christmas countdown) and I was not disappointed.

  1. My beef with this is that the narrative itself frequently incorporates a quote from the Bible.
  2. Of course, this is something that may be easily overlooked.
  3. I understand that these are all significant tales from the Bible, but I’m not quite ready to expose my children to some of the stories and photos that have been shared on the internet.
  4. At my age, I still want this season to be filled with surprise and enjoyment for my children, rather than scaring them with stories of being killed by fire, enslavement, and other horrors (again, they still have plenty of years for that).

Purchase that has been verified I have a Sunday school class of 9 to 11-year-olds that I teach.

That is their greatest asset.

Their Sunday school professors, as well as their Sunday school curriculum, will range from Creation to Daniel to Noah to the Life of Christ to David to Jonah, among other topics.

As a result, I’d want to express my gratitude to the author and the publisher for making this book available.

Originally published in the United States on October 4, 2018Verified Purchase An exquisitely drawn book that relates the entire narrative of the Bible, from the Old Testament to the New Testament, is presented here.

Every day’s reading leads to our need for a Savior and God’s promise to send our Rescuer, and the book concludes with the fulfillment of God’s promise on day 25, which is my favorite part.

According to me, it is the ideal length for this age group (4-8 years old).

The questions that follow each day’s lesson are thought-provoking and serve as a jumping-off point for lively conversation.

Exceptionally well-done!

You’re going to adore it!

Laura Richie’s The Advent Storybook was a delight to read aloud.

The visuals truly bring the story to life, and the writing in the book is excellent throughout.

I also appreciate that at the conclusion of each narrative, there is a question.

My family and I are looking forward to reading this book together this Christmas season. Make reading this book part of your Advent ritual! This year, if you have never experienced Advent before, pick up this book and start this year! It’s an incredible book, and you’ll be pleased you picked it up.

5.0 stars out of 5 for this product Pictures are fantastic, and they are re-usable. On February 26, 2021, a reviewer in Canada commented on the purchase. We had a lot of fun using this for our Advent Calendar throughout the Christmas Season. Excellent for children of all ages! My children aged 6 to 11 took turns reading aloud on their night off, and for the most part, it was simple to read and comprehend. This will be used every year for our family’s advent calendar. Thank you very much for doing this!

On November 3, 2018, a review was published in the United States of America. The catch here is that I am not a religious person in the traditional sense. My upbringing, on the other hand, was quite devout; as a result, I now take my children to church and try to teach them about the non-commercial aspects of Christmas. (Almost) 3 and 5 years old, respectively, are my children. We were having a Lego Advent (the commercial side of Christmas) and I was hoped this book would be the ideal book to balance out the festivities.

  1. However, my beef with the narrative is that it generally includes a biblical passage.
  2. This is, of course, something that may be easily overlooked and ignored.
  3. I understand that these are all significant events from the Bible, but I’m not quite ready to expose my children to some of the stories and images that have been shared on this website.
  4. As a senior citizen, I still want this season to be filled with surprise and delight for my children, rather than scaring them with stories of being burned alive, being sold into slavery, and so on (again, they still have plenty of years for that).
  5. Reviewed on October 20, 2018 in the United States.
  6. Already, the visuals and material have piqued my interests.
  7. Short and simple, the plot is easy to follow.

It’s great because it’s packed with information without requiring a long time to read through it all.

In every tale, there is a reference to the arrival of the Promised Son.

Our family utilized chosen readings from The Jesus Storybook Bible in December of last year; it’s a wonderful resource, as well.

This year, I decided to try something new.

What I really admire about the film is how historically accurate the skin tones of the characters are, as well as how Jesus is not in the stable when the Wise Men arrive.

It was a little too much for my children at the time to try to adapt a Jesse Tree-type activity at this time.

All you truly need for the holiday season is just one thing.

A little note to say that if you haven’t already, I recommend that you do so.

Families will benefit greatly from this resource.

However, I did not utilize the book with my children (ages 2-7) until December, after purchasing it in October.

Beginning with the biblical reference for the narrative, followed by an additional verse that refers to Christ, each page sets the tone for the story.

There is a question at the conclusion of every page.

I don’t expect my children to sit through a long lecture every night.

Even if they pass over some of the content, parents of toddlers will still be able to communicate valuable information.

Despite this, my children recognize the text and visuals.

My family and I enjoyed reading The Advent Storybook, and I would suggest it to others.

A lot of other publications get these things wrong, and this is one of them.

In the Advent Storybook, I am hoping that we will find an acceptable middle ground without compromising the integrity of truth.

Next, we’ll be looking at The Easter Storybook.

On December 15, 2018, the United States Department of Justice issued a report.

They come from Christian households, and as a result, these children have a firm foundation in the characters from the book of Genesis.

It is their greatest shortcoming because they have no understanding of the chronology or history of events in the Bible, nor do they understand how it all connects together.

The picture is clear enough.

I know that this will be a tremendous assistance to me as a teacher, as well as to my kids, as I attempt to instill that chronology into their small brains.

From the Old Testament to the New Testament, this book is wonderfully illustrated and integrates the entire biblical narrative.

Every day’s reading speaks to our need for a Savior and God’s promise to send our Rescuer, and the book concludes with the fulfillment of God’s promise on day 25, which I find particularly moving.

For this age group, I believe it is the ideal length (4-8 years old).

The questions that follow each day’s lesson are thought-provoking and serve as a jumping-off point for lively debate.

Congratulations on a job well done!

This is something you’ll enjoy.

It was a delight to read Laura Richie’s The Advent Storybook.

Aside from being beautifully illustrated, the book is also really well written.

It’s also a nice touch that each story concludes with a question.

My family and I are looking forward to reading this book together this holiday season.

This book should become an annual tradition throughout the Advent season! If you have never observed Advent before, get this book and begin this year! That you chose to read it is a wonderful decision you will never regret.
