Reba Mcentire Oh How I Love Jesus

Reba McEntire – Oh, How I Love Jesus Lyrics

Because He was the first to adore me There is a name I enjoy hearing and singing, and it is well worth mentioning. It’s like music to my ears The loveliest name on the face of the earthOh, how I adore Jesus Oh, how I adore Jesus Oh, how I adore Jesus because He first cherished and adored me. It reminds me of a Savior’s love for me, who died in order to set me free. It reminds me of Hispreciousblood. The sinner’s complete recompense Oh, he is so wonderful to me He is so wonderful to me He is so wonderful to me He is so wonderful to me He is so wonderful to me He is so beautiful to me Because He was the first to adore me Oh, Jesus, how I adore you.

Oh, Jesus, how I adore you.

Over the course of more than 150 years, Christian congregations have enjoyed a lovely melody created by this mix of elements.

The second verse focuses on what the name of Jesus represents—”a Savior’s love” that died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins.

The Power of Jesus’ Name

It is a joy to hear the name of Jesus spoken in music, especially in Christian hymns and gospel songs. Hymns that are centered on the name of Jesus constitute a major portion of the overall congregational hymn repertory. The idea of the authority of Jesus’ name appears in several biblical passages. Philippians 2:5-11 is a biblical scripture that reflects this sentiment: “Have this mentality among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.” In order for every knee to bend in heaven and on earth and every tongue to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, at the mention of his name, we pray: Furthermore, this idea is repeated in a large number of hymns.

In one of their songs, they sing, “There’s simply something about that name.” There are also two quotes from Charles Wesley: “Jesus!

the name that charms our anxieties.
