Our Savior Is Born

Are you as glad as I am that November 8th has passed and the election is over?  What a deeply disturbing election cycle.  And now that our next President has been elected, new fears have risen.  Believers have never been more divided over an election.  How is The Church to respond so that unity reigns?

That is the question I’ve put before Abba Father.  And His answer has brought peace to my soul.  What has He said?  I am your Savior, not the President of the United States.  Your Savior has already been born, He was not just elected.  I love how Father God tells us exactly what our Savior will do:

For a child has been born—for us!

the gift of a Son—for us!

He’ll take over the running of the world.

His names will be: Amazing Counselor, Strong God, Eternal Father, Prince of Wholeness.

His ruling authority will grow,

and there’ll be no limits to the wholeness He brings.

He’ll rule from the historic David throne over that promised kingdom.

He’ll put that kingdom on a firm footing and keep it going

With fair dealing and right living, beginning now and lasting always.

The zeal of God-of-the-Angel-Armies will do all this.

Isaiah 9:6-7 The Message

Notice that it’s Jesus who will run the world, bring unlimited wholeness and put the Kingdom on firm footing and keep it going, not Donald Trump or any other earthly ruler.

What is our response?  Instead of focusing on who voted for who or why we voted the way we did, let’s keep our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).  Let’s trust that He’s a good Father, and that nothing happens without His permission (Romans 13:1).  And if He allows it, He’s obligated Himself to bring good from it (Romans 8:28).

Now, more than ever, our world needs Jesus.  How does a lost world find Jesus?  By seeing Jesus in you.  By seeing the unity of The Church. By seeing our love for one another.  Beloved, let’s focus on loving God and loving others in Jesus’ Name.  God is still on His throne.  Now let’s act like it!
