Eavesdropping on the Enemy

Do you ever wonder what Satan says about you behind your back? I recently attended GateWay’s Women’s Conference and experienced the amazing Priscilla Shirer sharing a fascinating message about Gideon. She told the story of him overhearing two men of the Midian army fretting about how they (the Midianites) were soon going to be defeated by Gideon and his army. Hearing this, Gideon immediately bowed in worship. Then he returned to his men (a much smaller army), and with great confidence exclaimed: “Arise, for the Lord has given the camp of Midian into your hands.”(Judges 7:15). That’s when Priscilla brought it home to my heart. If we could eavesdrop on what our enemy says about us, we would undoubtedly gain great confidence hearing the fear and trembling in his voice. It’s a mystery to me why we even entertain defeat in our lives and in our leadership. The enemy is literally under our feet – the battle has already been won. As you start your day, first bow down and worship our King for giving you everything you need to do all He has called you to do. Then arise, speak triumphant words, and expect victory!
